ORAS OU Legendary Bulky Offensive "Latios + Keldeo B.O Core"

Hi welcome to my rmt -Legendary Bulky. Which started from the legendary pokemon core of latios/keldeo and evolved into a bulky offensive type team. With each pokemon firmly place to lend support to the other, but primaily aimed at supporting the special attacking dou core. With out futher adue the choices for the team and why.

Starting off with the core, keldeo and latios both recieved their standard offensive set of specialy offensive, both with life orb. With latios the set was the standard duel stabs with roost and defog for recovery and defog for hazard removal. On Keldeo the moves hydro/scald/secret were used as per normal, but icy wind was chosen to help the next partner more effortlessly kill lati@s.

Choice band tyranitar joins the team as a method of dealing with checks to keldeo primarily, but also latios, not limmited to but including -bulky psyschics and non wil-o-wisp talonflame. Mentioned before, icy wind from keldeo helps the slow tyranitar, net some kills that it's exploitable weaknesses could stop otherwise, as well as ease the blows from a helpless trapped lati, as they are forced to attack or try to defog in the fear of being pursuit, thus wasting a turn trying top run. keldeo switches to specs at this point to help combat ressidual damage exaserbated by ttars sand steam.

All 3 Pokemon hate fairy types with a passion, and my mega slot is free, thus scizor joins as excellent choice to kill fairy types with his classic mega set -bulky band. finding plenty of opertuinitiesd to set up on faries like gardivoir or kill fairy types off quickly, especially if they have fire coverage like mega daince, who scizor always will kill with BP.

Bulky waters are still a problem and not one I wish to solve by adding a bulky grass type as I wanted to minimise the amount of weaknesses on the team and grass has a wopping total of 5, all relitively common in 6th gen in one form or another and hybrid types like amoongus were either to passive or more or less add to the issuse like celebi. The natural choice was an electric type therefore raikou. Reasonably bulky, unlike tunderous and didn't use a mega slot unlike megamanetric. The set chosen was sub Cm. Mainly as between tyranitar and latios, there was suffcient bulk to go around on the special side and to add an aditional set up sweet for the special side as well.

The final slot was a pretty ovious pick for me, i needed a good solid bulk offesnive Sr setter to deal with the likes of charizard-x, so naturally lando-t was the first to come to mind. Thus he earns a spot on the team with his physically defensive build to ward off said threats.

Keldeo @ Choice Specs

Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Icy Wind
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump

Keldeo has always been one of the strongest pokemon in over used and it's not hard to see why, with duel stabs in water/fighting keldeo pocesses great neutral coverage in his stab alone, which is great because his coverage options are abyssmal (note keldeo is one of the few water types not able to learn ice beam?). Still his position at the top is well justified, from his great stab coverage to his rather flawless stat distrobution, keldeo is one of those pokemon who's dissmal shortcomming's keep in ou, while still being rediciously consitant. The set chosen is a straightforward specs set, to plow through enemy teams with ease, without suffering from the residual damage from life orb. The eves go straight into special attack and speed to maximise keldeo's offensive proness, and a timid nature to out speed to and speed tie, base 108's. The move set is a standard hydro/scald/secret sword, with icy wind chosen to help support tyranitar by slowing down switch ins to keldeo, for him to finnish off if need be, as well as allowing keldeo to pick off faster weakened threats that aree 2koed by icy wind.

Latios (M) @ Life Orb

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Defog
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor

Latios rounds of the initial core, with it's ability to weakend keldeo's counters and vice versa. Latios in it's self is also a very powerful supportive special sweeper with excellent stat distrobution, a great movepool, and fairly good typing, ironically making latios a keldeo check/counter in it's own right. The eves again are identical to keldeo's, for the same reasons, maxium speed to outspeed up to and tie with it's speed tier of 110 with a timid nature and maxium special attack to maxmise damage output. The Moveset give latios duels stabs with psyshock hitting specialy defensive pokemon hard plus killing fighting types off, like keldeo and dracometeor to hit really hard. The remainder of the moveset allows latios to support the team via hazard removal and recoverying to increase longevity and thus be able to more readily handle threats like keldeo.

Tyranitar @ Choice Band

Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

Joining the team is tyranitar. With a great ability, stats and duel stab tyranitar is a monster in ou, heldback only by his low speed + poor defensive typing. Mentioned prievously, tyranitar can kill off counters and checks to keldeo and latios such as enemy latios and talonflame. With the choice band set he can help wreck bulky walls or slow bulky pokemon ingeneral, unlike his scarf set and provides a much more reliable form of pursuit trapping than set, as pursuit is very weak if the opponet predicts right and keeps their pokemon in on scarf, but not so much on band. An adamant nature is chosen to chosen to boost his attack, with maximium attack eves to maximise damage, with 156 speed to out pace pokemon up to 196 speed. The moveset allows for duel stab in stone edge and crunch with crunch the ever reliable stab, pusuit to trap pokemon like lati@s, and superpower to hit the likes of blissey, heatran and ferrothorn all very hard.

Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite

Ability: Technician (was light metal)
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Swords Dance
- Roost

Mega scizor joins the team, as a very hard hitting bulky bruiser of a pokemon, a destroyer of fairy types to which team despises. Mega scizor is the natural improovement over scizor, bulkier, especially in special defence, with more attack too boot, which compliments the fact he has acess to roost and swords dance both on this set. The set it'self is scizor bulky swords dance set, a set that allows scizor to sweep in his own right and handle a great many threats at the same time, due to his great natural bulk. The eves are the standard on the smogon site, with the spread maximising his overall bulk, with a little in attack to net some ko's and 2 ko's, and an impish nature to further bloister his defence. The moves are simple, u-turn allows scizor to pivot out and while sd and u-turn seem like a mix match, it allows scizor to lay the pain into switch ins, while getting out of a bad situation after a swords dance, bullet punch is proirity steel stab, which the slow scizor needsm, roost allows for recovery and sd to boost his attack to high levels.

Raikou @ Leftovers

Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute
- Calm Mind

I wanted to kill off bulky water types w/o resorting to adding the issuses many grass types can add to a team, as thunderous is quite frail, i prefered a more bulky option, so raikou find it's way onto the team for these reasons. while the golden era of the 6th electric is over, raikou still is a solid pokemon in ou, even if it's at the bottom of the barrel. With a great stat spread, to which his blistering 115 speed is his biggest asset, raikou is able to sweep teams after his checks/counters have beeen worn away. The set chosen is his calm mind sub set, not only does sub protect raikou from status, but he can net in some kills against faster frail pokemon behind it, that could cause him grief like incomming scarf lato-t or mega lopbunny, while calm mind allows to boost his respectable special attack and special defence to higher levels, great if your aim is to take advantage of anoying bulky water types to set up and prey on. Thunderbolt is your standard hard hitting electric stab, while the muck weaker hidden power ice still has great pseudo bolt beam coverage that raikou loves, as it gives him the chance to kill the likes of lando-t and garchomp, easily a feat he could not otherwise achive. The eves and nature allow for maximium speed and special attack. Leftovers provide raikou with some recovery.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers

Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge

Landorus-t joins the team as the natural chopice to add in, some much needed sr support and physical bulkage. With the ability to handle threats like charizard-x, lanto-t acts as the teams second bulky defensive pivot, and stealth rocker. With acess to the ever fantastic, intimidate lando-t's okay 90 base defence is more than compinsated for and many a physical attcker crippled by a lando-t switch in, even if it's another member picking up the mess. The set is simple, an impish nature with the standard spread of eves for maxium physical bulk with a little in speed and special defence. The move choice allows for quakedge coverage, u-turn to piviot and sr for need i say more?

Hello, nice team you have here. I notice your team had some trouble with mega venusaur as mega venusaur can wall more then half your team. Yes you do have a latios but latios will have to switch into sludge bombs and being forced to recover to take next sludge bomb the next time that mega venusaur comes in meaning you lose some mometum as you give your oppoent a free turn to do whatever they please. This is extremly dangerous when they are paired with a pursuiter like tyranitar which is very common with mega venusaur to handle flying types like talonflame and psyhic types like your latios.Other grass types like serperior can also be threat as it can leaf storm boost up on keldeo or tyranitar if its choice locked into superpower/pursuit and proceed to sweep threw this team as your fastest mon cannot oko it. Mega scizor can also become a problem as it can set up on landorus-therian/latios/tyranitar. You do have a specs keldeo which can 2ko but keldeo can only 2ko meaning if keldeo is near 70-80% and cant oko scizor then keldeo can get beaten with a sword dance on the switch then bug bite + bullet punch. I also feel like for this offensive team there isnt much for a revenge killer as your fastest mon being at 361 speed. I have a few ideas to help improve this team.

->
My first recommendation is to run a power herb taunt solar beam heatran over raikou. This allows you to have something to switch into mega venusaur that also wont have to risk a sludge bomb poison or click a recovery move right away. Heatran can also check serperior and can also outspeed and oko mega scizor. Removing raikou does make your team weaker to some bulky water types however heatran can trap and these water types like Slowbro, Suicune, Quagsire, Gastrodon, and Rotom-W then eliminate them with a solar beam the following turn which opens up for your keldeo to allow it to spam its water stab move more freely.

My next suggestion is to run choice scarf over choice specs on keldeo. This allows you to have a better matchup versus more offensive teams and allows you to have a solid revenge killer for fast mons like lopunny-mega, manetric-mega and other choice scarfed mons like landorus-therian, excadrill or mons that have boosted up their speed like mega gyardos/mega charizard x etc. I would also like to recommend Hidden Power electric over Icy Wind on keldeo. This allows you to hit wear down more water types faster and since you lost your specs i can see gyardos might have an easier time setting up on you so running hidden power electric can prevent that. Without icy wind you cant lure common switch ins to keldeo like latios/latias but you have a pursuiter to elimante them so there is no need to lure them. You also have solid dragon resist in scizor-mega/heatran.

Without raikou water types do become a bigger threat. For example manaphy can now have an easier time winning and as everything on your team can get okoed when it gets a tail glow. However you still have a latios which can come in and draco metor and if manaphy took damage before hand to make it go down to draco metor. If manaphy is still at full you can still draco metor putting it in range for you to revenge kill with keldeo and since it so low it will not have another set up opportunity. Removing your eletric type also means flying types like pinsir-mega become a problem since it also has coverage for tyranitar. However pinsir-mega cannot switch into anything as all mons on your team can 2ko it besides your scizor-mega but scizor-mega can just u-turn out to something that can deal with pinsir-mega. If pinsir does get to set up you have to keep your landorus-therian healthy enough to take a +1 return and then you can proceed to oko with stone edge.

Heatran @ Power Herb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Solar Beam
