(LGPE OU) Melmetal [QC: 1/1] [GP: 1/1]

Melmetal
Ability: Iron Fist
Level: 50
Adamant Nature
- Double Iron Bash
- Earthquake
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch

One of the two newly introduced in Pokemon Let's Go, Melmetal has made a name for itself as one of the tier's most popular threats. A rare Steel typing and impressive bulk and offense aid it in checking some of the most prominent threats such as Mega Beedrill, Mega Alakazam, Mega Aerodactyl, and Dragonite, despite its low Speed. This is why coverage moves such as Fire Blast and Earthquake can be seen on many offensive threats to dent Melmetal significantly. Double Iron Bash enables Melmetal to strike twice in one turn, effectively giving it a 120 BP Steel-type STAB move, with the added benefit of potentially causing a flinch. Although certain checks to Melmetal exist such as Poliwrath, Starmie, Zapdos, and Mega Gyarados, its access to other coverage options such as Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, and Superpower can help circumvent those answers. Melmetal can also run status options like Thunder Wave, which can help cripple and flinch foes with neutral base 80 Speed or below, and Rest, which can help sustain its health in tandem with Sparkly Swirl support from Eevee-S. With all these qualities, Melmetal is a Pokemon that fits on any team!

Just two things I can think of atm (even if I may not count as QC)

-Since you mention Thunder Wave, I think it's important to note that Melmetal is actually so slow that even with paralysis, its pretty easy to outspeed. For example, with Adamant, you'll only outspeed up to Jolly Starter Eevee and Adamant Dragonite after a paralysis. Melmetal actually needs Jolly to outspeed stuff like Jolly Mega Gyarados!

-I think removing the Iron Fist ability might be a good idea (unless its a requirement), since abilities aren't in Let's Go. If its required, I think mentioning that abilities are NOT in Lets Go (thus it cant take advantage of Iron Fist) is probably a good idea!

It was discussed in the discord that this might be too long and too much like an analysis. so I shortened it down to 985 characters. Feel free to use it if you want Funbot28

I mainly removed the parts about Double Iron Bash and Earthquake, since apparently facebook spotlights are only supposed to highlight moves if they're for really specfic stuff. I condensed some sentences too, but otherwise no other info was lost. Also added the "Melmetal fits on every team" at the reqest of martha. Otherwise, your writing is mostly untouched!

One of the two newly introduced Pokemon Let's Go, Melmetal has made a name for itself as one the tier's most popular threats. Bearing a rare Steel typing and impressive bulk and offense aids it in checking some of the most prominent threats, such as Dragonite, Mega Alakazam, and Mega Aerodactyl, despite its low Speed. This is why coverage moves such as Fire Blast and Earthquake can be seen on many offensive threats in order to dent Melmetal significantly. Although certain checks to Melmetal exist such as Poliwrath, Starmie, Zapdos, and Mega Gyarados, it's access to other coverage options such as Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, and Superpower can all help circumvent the aforementioned answers. Melmetal can also run status options like Thunder Wave and Rest, which can help cripple and flinch foes at a netural base 80 Speed, and can help sustain its health in tandem with Eevee-S support via Sparkly Swirl respectively. With all these qualities, Melmetal is a Pokemon that fits on any team!
