Ceruledge is among the most potent wallbreaks and cleaners in the AAA metagame due to the ridiculous power of STAB Poltergeist complemented by Bitter Blade and the ability to pick off faster threats with Shadow Sneak. With Swords Dance, Ceruledge can take advantage of Pokemon like Corviknight, Scream Tail, or Iron Moth to ease prediction and turn Shadow Sneak into very strong tool for cleaning up teams once would-be revenge killers like Roaring Moon or Zamazenta are sufficiently weakened. Close Combat paired with Sword of Ruin is an alternative to Swords Dance that OHKOes Roaring Moon and 2HKOes the occasional Ting-Lu, though Ceruledge is typically able to break through these foes with brute force, and the inability to boost Shadow Sneak's power is a major detriment. Adaptability is superior to Sword of Ruin on sets lacking Close Combat due to the latter not boosting Ceruledge's damage into opposing Sword of Ruin users like Zamazenta or Roaring Moon.
