VGC Lilligant

[OVERVIEW]

* Lilligant exists purely to facilitate Torkoal, providing excellent support with its blistering speed thanks to Chlorophyll. After You allows Torkoal to outspeed foes and hit incredibly hard with Eruption. Sleep Powder can disable a Pokemon that would otherwise threaten Torkoal or stop a sweep. Garchomp, notably, is vulnerable to sleep and is heavily damaged by Leaf Storm. Dondozo is similarly 2HKOed if it doesn't run Assault Vest, even after a Commander boost, and also susceptible to sleep.

* As Torkoal excels on Trick Room teams, Lilligant will often end up teaming with Trick Room Pokemon. Indeedee's Psychic Terrain and Farigiraf's Armor Tail protect Lilligant from priority moves such as Dragonite's Extreme Speed, and both appreciate Lilligant's ability to disable Dark-type Pokemon such as Kingambit with Sleep Powder. After You lets Guts Hariyama turn the tables on faster Pokemon, and it protects Lilligant in return with Wide Guard and Fake Out. Annihilape appreciates Sleep Powder giving it free turns to use Bulk Up so it can sweep.

* Talonflame and Murkrow can preempt Lilligant despite Chlorophyll with priority Tailwind, Taunt, and Quash. Similarly, Lilligant hates it when other weather setters hit the field due to its sudden drop in Speed.

[SET COMMENTS]

* Leaf Storm is Lilligant's strongest STAB option and gives it some offensive presence, notably checking Water- and Ground-types. Sleep Powder shuts down Pokemon that would otherwise threaten Lilligant or its partner and can punish switch-ins. After You is a phenomenal speed control tool that, with Lilligant's fantastic Speed via Chlorophyll, sets the stage for moves like Torkoal's Eruption.

* Focus Sash is all but mandatory for Lilligant to function due to its frailty. Wide Lens is an option to shore up Sleep Powder's and Leaf Storm's consistency, but it leaves Lilligant vulnerable to OHKOs from most strong attackers.

* Timid Lilligant is usually superior due to it outrunning Pokemon like Timid Gholdengo in Tailwind. Modest Lilligant can nab potential OHKOs on the likes of Maushold, bulky Rotom-W, and Tera Ground Garchomp, however, while having a very high chance of 2HKOing Garchomp before Terastallization.

* Lilligant will rarely Terastallize but still has decent options. Tera Water lets it survive a Fire-type attack without giving it too many weaknesses. Tera Flying allows it to pair with an Earthquake user and continue to provide support. Tera Blast with Tera Ground covers Steel- and Fire-types such as Armarouge, Ceruledge, and Gholdengo but is generally not worth it.

* Helping Hand gives Lilligant a good priority move to use in Trick Room, boosting Torkoal's spread damage to staggering levels. Quiver Dance allows Lilligant to maintain speed control outside of sun and gives its offense more bite. Energy Ball gives Lilligant a more consistent attack than Leaf Storm and is the attack of choice with Quiver Dance, but its unboosted damage leaves a lot to be desired. Any set using Quiver Dance or Energy Ball should run a Modest nature.

I like this but tag me once implemented, WALLY#4434 on Discord or here on the forum works too. Main thing I want to see is examples, when you say Fire- or Steel-types or priority moves say what's using those moves. You can hit reply and edit my check from there, or toggle code (hit the cog) and copy it to your post then edit it from there.

[OVERVIEW]

* In series 1, Lilligant exists purely to facilitate and support Torkoal as it is rather mediocre outside of the sun. Lilligant is nonetheless excellent in this role due to its strong support and blistering speed thanks to Chlorophyll. As Torkoal excels on Trick Room teams, Lilligant will also often end up teaming with Trick Room Pokemon.(You don't really say how it supports Torkoal, After You, Sleep Powder, maybe it can deal with some Mons Koal doesn't like. Move the Torkoal excels on TR part to another bullet and give examples of such Trick Room Pokemon)

* Lilligant can struggle to gain momentum against Talonflame and Murkrow due to Prankster Tailwind or Quash suddenly making Lilligant slower than its opponent. Similarly, Lilligant hates it when other weather users hit the field due to its sudden drop in speed. (Gain momentum is a kinda awkward wording. Maybe like "Talonflame and Murkrow can beat out Lilligant's Chlorophyll boosted Speed with priority Tailwind, Taunt, and Quash")

* Fake Out forces Lilligant to protect or risk immediately fainting. Lilligant is a frail Pokemon and can be swiftly dispatched with priority moves such as Ice Shard, First Impression, or Extreme Speed. As such it appreciates support from the likes of Indeedee and Farigiraf. (I think this one should be reworked, smth like "Indeedee's Psychic Surge and Farigiraf's Armor Tail protect Lilligant from priority moves such as Dnite's Espeed, etc... Whether or not Fake Out will cause Lilligant to risk fainting is contextual and First Impression isn't super relevant.)

[SET COMMENTS]

* Leaf Storm is Lilligant's strongest STAB option and gives it some offensive presence while also checking Water and Ground types. Sleep Powder allows it to shut down Pokemon who would otherwise threaten Lilligant or its partner and can punish switch-ins.(Added hyphen) After You is phenomenal speed control that allows Lilligant's slower partners to move during its turn, which sets the stage for things like Torkoal Eruption.

* Focus Sash is all but mandatory for Lilligant to function due to its frailty. Wide Lens is an option to shore up Sleep Powder and Leaf Storm's consistency but leaves it vulnerable to OHKO from many priority moves.(such as? Asides like Tera Normal Dnite what's really OHKOing Lilligant? Maybe better to focus on non-priority moves more)

* Then choice between Timid and Modest natures depends on whether Lilligant wants to deal more damage with Leaf Storm or outrun Pokemon like Timid Gholdengo in Tailwind.(I don't use LiliKoal but like, is more power really worth it on a Lilligant that only has Leaf Storm for attacking?)

* Lilligant will rarely Terastilize but otherwise has decent options. Tera Water lets it survive a Fire attack without giving it too many weaknesses. Tera Flying allows it to pair with an Earthquake user and continue to provide support. Tera Ground lets it hit Steel- and Fire-types(added hyphens) with Tera Blast but is generally not worth it. (Give some examples of Steel- and Fire-types)

* Helping Hand gives Lilligant a button to click in Trick Room while boosting Torkoal's spread damage to staggering levels. Quiver Dance allows Lilligant to maintain speed control outside of sun and gives its offensive moves more bite(That's just Leaf Storm, unless you mean that you would run smth else with QD, in which case say that). Energy Ball gives Lilligant a more consistent option than Leaf Storm, but leaves a lot to be desired in terms of damage. Tera Blast can give Lilligant coverage options, but is hard to work onto a moveset.("is generally worse than Lilligant's other options" is a better way of saying "hard to" I think, unless you meant something else or more, in which case you could say exactly how it's "hard to".)

Dondozo is similarly 2HKO'd if it doesn't run Assault Vest even after a Commander boost and is similarly exploited by sleep.

Tera Blast (With what types? If it's just Ground like what is said earlier we don't need this here, and if it's something else like Fire mention that up earlier with the other Tera types.)fixes Lilligant's awful coverage but is generally worse than its other options.
