Today marks exactly two decades since creating a Smogon account!

To reminisce, I would just like to present one of my favorite memories from this website: the 2009 Smogon April Fools' prank. This really must be the greatest April Fools' joke of all time. At the time, I was shocked when it was revealed just how much effort had gone into it.

Twenty years is a lot! I'm nearing fifteen soon, which is wild. The world has changed so much since then, Smogon but also just everywhere else. It's pretty incredible. Plenty less-than-ideal, but so much good too. It's so cool to see folks active back then who still are, either had never left or had stepped away for a while and then returned. I remember that middle avatar pretty well! Sometimes I wonder about the people who've vanished - I got to interact with GemGem recently after like, a decade, and it was super lovely to reconnect. I hope everyone's in good places and doing well, even if there's no way to reach out to those people.

If your smogon account was a human, he'd be at university right now.

I'm slowly but surely reaching 8 years on this website, and activity speaking, only 4 years, but even in this time period, I've seen a lot of people going back and forth. I can't possibly imagine how crazy of a difference it must be with a 20 years gap.

The most remarkable memory I have is probably the 2024 Christmas Likeshop. It was extremely fun to participate in, and some crazy stuff happened (especially with the Wonder boxes)
