Ubers Lucario

Stoward

Ah, you're finally awake
Base:

Mega:

[OVERVIEW]

* Mega Lucario has a great offensive presence in the Ubers metagame, boasting a base 145 Attack, access to Swords Dance and powerful STAB moves in Meteor Mash and Close Combat, and a powerful means of priority to revenge kill foes with Bullet Punch.
* Mega Lucario is also one of the most difficult Pokemon in the tier to switch into thanks to its ability Adaptability and the fact that its STAB combination is only resisted by Ho-Oh and Toxapex.
* Although Mega Lucario's better matchups tend to be against more bulkier playstyles such as balance, the prevalence of Ho-Oh, Toxapex, and Zygarde hinders its viability and often forces it to run non-Adaptability-boosted moves such as Stone Edge, Earthquake, and Ice Punch to beat said threats.
* Mega Lucario faces competition from offensive Necrozma-DM, as Necrozma-DM's increased natural bulk allows it to have an easier time setting up, and switching in, and it also makes for a reliable Xerneas check, and it doesn't have to use up a Mega slot. Thus, Mega Lucario is primarily placed on hyper offense playstyles.

Moves
========

* Swords Dance raises Mega Lucario's Attack by two stages, making it harder for foes to switch into its attacks.
* Meteor Mash is Mega Lucario's most reliable Steel-type attack, dishing out heavy damage to common Fairy-types such as Xerneas and Arceus-Fairy, and is Lucario's most effective way of dishing out damage to Mega Salamence, Rayquaza, and Arceus-Flying. It is also Lucario's only means of hitting common Ghost-types such as Marshadow, Mega Gengar, and both Giratina formes.
* Close Combat is Mega Lucario's most reliable Fighting-type attack and most powerful commonly ran STAB move, OHKOing Yveltal after Stealth Rock damage, Ferrothorn, and opposing Mega Lucario. Close Combat also 2HKOes many common threats such as Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock damage, Necrozma-DM, Primal Kyogre, and Magearna.
* Bullet Punch allows Mega Lucario to revenge kill faster, weakened foes and is especially useful for dealing with +2 Xerneas, as it does up to 50% to it.
* Stone Edge allows Mega Lucario to KO Ho-Oh, which otherwise resists Lucario's STAB moves.
* Earthquake can be used to deal more damage to Toxapex and to dish out heavy damage to some Steel-types without having to deal with defense drops, but it doesn't really serve any other purpose and Lucario doesn't appreciate giving up any of its other moves.
* Ice Punch can be used to deal with Zygarde-C, which otherwise walls Mega Lucario, and it also does heavy damage to Mega Salamence, but Lucario doesn't appreciate losing any of its over moves.

Set Details
========

* Justified is Mega Lucario's best ability to run prior to Mega Evolution, giving it an Attack raise if it switches into a Dark-type attack.
* Lucarionite is required in order for Lucario to Mega Evolve.
* Maximum Speed investment and a Jolly nature allows Mega Lucario to take advantage of its Speed tier, allowing it to outpace foes such as Yveltal and Palkia.
* Maximum Attack investment results in the best possible damage output.
* An Adamant nature can be a nice option if Lucario is used on Sticky Web teams, as it outspeeds every grounded foe in the tier if Sticky Web is up, and an Adamant nature enables it to OHKO Zygarde pre-transformation at +2 with Close Combat and potentially 2HKO Giratina-O with Meteor Mash.

Usage Tips
========

* Against offensive teams, it is often better to simply attack what's in front of Lucario, as offensive teams tend to run more frail Pokemon, and Lucario should be used more late-game, once everything has been weakened down to the point where Lucario does not need to set up in the first place.
* Lucario has rather mediocre bulk, so avoid bringing it in directly on attacks. Instead, bring it in by U-turn from partners such as Yveltal, double switching, or sacrificing a weakened partner.
* Despite the fact that Lucario gets an Attack raise if it switches in on a Dark-type attack prior to Mega Evolution thanks to its ability Justified, Lucario should avoid switching into Dark-type Pokemon, as it is 2HKOed by Dark Pulse from offensive Yveltal and Foul Play from defensive sets, and, while Arceus-Dark and Mega Sableye have significantly less damage output, both of them run Will-O-Wisp, which can render Lucario almost useless if it switches into it.
* Swords Dance is best used against bulkier teams where Lucario is going to take minimal damage if the opponent chooses not to switch out. Examples of setup targets are Celesteela, Chansey, Blissey, and Ferrothorn.

Team Options
========

* Mega Lucario tends to fit best on hyper offensive Sticky Web teams, as it outpaces every grounded foe in the tier if Sticky Web is on the field, thus making it less prone to being revenge killed. Therefore, it appreciates having Sticky Web setters such as Smeargle and Shuckle.
* Yveltal makes an excellent partner, as it deals with Mega Gengar, Marshadow, and Lugia. Yveltal also appreciates Mega Lucario's ability to threaten Xerneas, Arceus Fairy, and special walls such as Chansey and Blissey.
* Primal Groudon is a brilliant partner for Mega Lucario, as it sets up Stealth Rock, which weakens opposing Pokemon and makes it easier for Mega Lucario to sweep late-game. This is especially useful for dealing with Ho-Oh and Lugia, as Ho-Oh's HP is reduced by 50% if it switches in when Stealth Rock is on the field, and Lugia's ability to check Mega Lucario is reduced if its Multiscale is broken. Primal Groudon also provides teams with a primary check to Xerneas, which means that Mega Lucario either doesn't have to deal with it at all or has an easier time revenge killing it with Bullet Punch. Furthermore, Primal Groudon is able to easily deal with Toxapex, beat Marshadow one-on-one, and KO Ho-Oh if it opts to run a Rock-type attack.
* Primal Kyogre is a useful partner for Mega Lucario, as it threatens physically defensive Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, Arceus-Ground, and Ho-Oh, all of which either outspeed Mega Lucario or have enough natural bulk to be able to survive a +2 Close Combat. Primal Kyogre also appreciates Mega Lucario's ability to break through many of its defensive checks such as Chansey, Blissey, and Ferrothorn.
* Xerneas has brilliant offensive synergy with Mega Lucario, as it is able to easily break through teams and deal with foes such as Yveltal, Zygarde-C, and Marshadow. Choice Scarf sets can also act as a cleric, removing burns or curing paralysis on Mega Lucario. Xerneas also appreciates Mega Lucario's ability to break through or weaken many of Xerneas's checks such as Necrozma-DM, Ferrothorn, Primal Groudon, Chansey, and Blissey.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* A special set can be run with Nasty Plot, Vacuum Wave, Flash Cannon, and either Focus Blast or Aura Sphere. However, this set is outclassed by the physical set, as it relies on Mega Lucario's lower Special Attack stat, has to rely on a 70% accurate move in Focus Blast for decent damage output because Aura Sphere doesn't even 2HKO Blissey, and prevents Mega Lucario from being able to revenge kill Xerneas, Marshadow, and Mega Gengar.
* High Jump Kick can be used over Close Combat, as a +2 High Jump Kick has a chance to OHKO Zygarde after Stealth Rock damage, but it is far less spammable than Close Combat, since Lucario risks losing 50% of its health if the move misses or if the opponent switches go a Ghost-type Pokemon.
* An all-out attacking set with Meteor Mash, Close Combat, Ice Punch, and Earthquake can be used with Mega Lucario, which solves the problem of Lucario being walled by certain Pokemon;(space)however, this means that its offensive presence isn't as dominating and it misses out on running priority, thus making it less efficient at revenge killing.
* Agility is an option that can be considered on Mega Lucario, placing it in a Speed tier where it's less prone to being revenge killed, but Mega Lucario doesn't really have the space in its moveslot for it, and it doesn't really have the bulk to pull off a Double Dance set.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Toxapex**: Toxapex resists both of Mega Lucario's STAB moves and can remove any of Mega Lucario's boosts with Haze, recover off any damage with Recover, and potentially burn it with Scald. It does have to be careful of the rare Earthquake, though.

**Zygarde-C**: Zygarde has enough physical bulk to survive a +2 Close Combat even prior to becoming its Complete forme and can dish out heavy damage with Thousand Arrows. Defensive sets can also recover off any damage with Rest, paralyze Lucario with Glare, and phaze it with Dragon Tail. It does have to be careful for the rare Ice Punch, though, and it has a chance to be OHKOed after Stealth Rock by +2 Close Combat if it hasn't transformed yet.

**Ho-Oh**: Ho-Oh hard counters any set that is not running Stone Edge, as it resists both of Lucario's STAB moves and can OHKO it with Sacred Fire. It does have to be cautious switching into Mega Lucario if Stealth Rock is up, especially if it's at +2.

**Marshadow**: Marshadow is arguably the biggest offensive threat to Mega Lucario, as it outpaces Mega Lucario, has enough bulk to survive a +2 Bullet Punch, and can steal Mega Lucario's boosts with Spectral Thief.

**Lugia**: Lugia is 4x resistant to Fighting-type attacks, has enough natural bulk to not be too bothered by Lucario's Steel-type attacks, and can phaze it with Whirlwind. However, it does struggle to check a +2 Mega Lucario if Stealth Rock is up.

**Arceus Formes**: Arceus formes all tend to run enough Speed investment to specifically outpace Mega Lucario. Arceus-Ground can OHKO with Judgment or Earthquake, Arceus-Water dishes out heavy damage with Judgment and resists Steel-type attacks, and Arceus-Fairy also dishes out heavy damage with Judgement, but it doesn't appreciate switching into Steel-type attacks. Furthermore, both Arceus-Water and Arceus-Fairy occasionally run Fire Blast, which OHKOes Mega Lucario.

**Mega Gengar**: Mega Gengar outspeeds Mega Lucario and is able to OHKO it with Focus Blast, dish out heavy damage with Shadow Ball or Hex, or potentially trade KOs with Destiny Bond. However, Mega Gengar does not appreciate taking Steel-type attacks.

**Flying-type Pokemon**: Flying-type Pokemon such as Arceus-Flying and Mega Salamence pose a great threat to Mega Lucario, as they tend to outpace Mega Lucario and are immune to Sticky Web, so they are able to revenge kill Mega Lucario even if the hazard is on the field. While Mega Salamence often tends to run an Adamant nature over a Jolly nature, it cuts Mega Lucario's Attack by one stage prior to Mega Evolving and is able to OHKO it with an Aerilate-boosted Double-Edge. It is also worth noting that Double-Edge from Jolly Mega Salamence OHKOes Mega Lucario.

**Status**: While Mega Lucario's Steel typing allows it to be immune to Poison, it is heavily crippled by burns and paralysis, as burns cut its Attack in half and paralysis cuts its Speed in half, thus making it easy to revenge kill.

* Mega Lucario has a great offensive presence in the ubers metagame. Boasting a base 145 attack, access to Swords Dance, Powerful STAB moves in Meteor Mash and Close Combat, and a number of Priority moves to revenge kill faster weakened foes.
Remember that overviews should only reflect the important features of the Pokemon its talking about. Small nitpick but you should replace priority moves with Bullet Punch cause you really shouldn't be running any other priority move.

Also remove aegislash mentions

thus has to be brought in via U-turn or Volt Switch by teammates or one of its teammates have to be sacrificed in order for it to be brought in safely.
First of all, this makes a good usage tip and shouldn't be on an overview. Volt Switch and U-Turn is almost non existent unless you are suggesting Magearna and Tapu Koko as teammates (might work??? Still too specific). I'd move this to usage tips and reword the point to talk about how you can bring in MLuc safely (predicted doubles, sacking sth, predicted sr switches, on steel types like celest and ferro, etc).

* The prevalence of Marhsadow in the USM Ubers metagame has had quite a negative impact on Mega Lucario, as it finds less opportunities to set up, and due to the fact that Marshadow is able to outpace Mega Lucario and steal it's boosts, and thus reverse sweep with its unresisted coverage.
I'd disagree that Marshadow has a negative impact on Mega Lucario. +2 BP does a crap ton and how does MLuc's setup potential have anything to do with marsh? In a way yes it does affect mluc's viability because to pex got popular because of marsh but marsh + mluc can be quite scary as well so marsh is more like a double edged sword here. I'd remove this point.

You can reword the next point talking about how Mega Lucario is usually used as a wall breaker vs balance / bulkier teans however, this is quite difficult to execute due to the presence of x y z mon and how their presence in the metagame caused Mega Luc's viability to drop.

* Justified is Mega Lucario's best ability to run prior to mega evolution, giving it an attack raise every time it switches into a dark-type attack. Also there are few moves that are ran in the Ubers tier where there is even a chance to flinch, so it doesn't really get the opportunity to capitalize on Inner Focus or Steadfast. However, there are few chances for Lucario to take advantage of Justified, due to its general frailty.
Remove the parts where you talk about steadfast. They are fluffy and the purpose of this bullet should be to justify running Justified not to discourage using steadfast!

Major downside of running Adamant MLuc is that you are outspeed by Life Orb Yveltal which is already a problem for webs that lack Arceus-Fairy (which isn't that great of a partner anyways).

* Mega Gengar is a useful partner for Mega Lucario, as it trap and KOs Support Arceus formes that are often threatening to Mega Lucario, as most of them run enough speed to outpace it, and can dish out heavy damage with Judgement and remove hazards with Defog. It also traps other foes such as Lugia, and Toxapex variants that opt to not run Shed Shell, thus making it easier for Mega Lucario to sweep late-game.
This is Ubers not some OM. Chill!

Add 4 Attacks MLucario in OO. Solves the problem of being walled without coverage but has the downside of a) may not run priority b) may not run sd c) still be checked by sth.

QC 1/3 if you can implement these properly!

* One of the only Non-Legendary Pokemon to get their own movie and Lucario was voiced by the same guy who voices Goku in the English Dub so you know that Lucario is badass af
wat

the spread is in the wrong order.
The presence of these mons mean that Lucario isn't nearly as successful as it used to be against Balance and Bulkier oriented teams, which tends to be its best matchup.
This falls into generational shift area, but it can be written in a way to convey the same message without crossing that line. "Lucario's matchup against some balance teams is much more difficult due to the presence of Toxapex alongside Ho-Oh."

* Meteor Mash is Mega Lucario's most reliable Steel-type attack,
* Close Combat is Mega Lucario's most reliable Fighting-type attack,
damage benchmarks here

* Earthquake can be used to deal more damage to Toxapex, but it doesn't really serve any other purpose and Lucario doesn't really appreciate giving up any of its other moves.
it can avoid CC drops vs some steels / diancie / etc i suppose...

* Avoid boosting with Swords Dance if Marshadow is still healthy, as it is able to survive a +2 Bullet Punch, Steal Mega Lucario's attack boosts and reverse sweep with Spectral Thief.
this never fails to trigger me. dont assume game states in such a way, and especially not as an absolute.

* High Jump Kick can be used over Close Combat, as it has a chance to OHKO Zygarde after Stealth Rock damage,
at +2? note as such.
**Marshadow**: Marshadow is arguably the biggest offensive threat to Mega L
lol
**Mega-Gengar**: Mega Gengar outspeeds Mega Lucario and is able to either OHKO it with Focus Blast or potentially trade KOs with Destiny Bond. However it does not appreciate taking Steel-type attacks.
ghost moves do a shit ton. if gengar is revenge killing a -1 lucario it doesn't need to risk anything - hex can ohko it and shadow ball certainly will. focus blast gengar is rather rare these days.

there's a ton of easy mistakes around here, not just the ones i pointed out. give this a good proofread on top of this qc. i'll stamp afterwards.

Stoward

Ah, you're finally awake
Can't believe you're hating on the Goku point.

Anyway, Implemented the other stuff. I'll admit that I'm not a fan of proof-reading, but I guess I'll keep proof-reading this until it reaches the GP stage.

I would make a mention that an Adamant nature can be opted for, this makes Lucario easier to revenge kill however - mention that this is a choice for Sticky Web teams. Notable benchmarks of Adamant nature is that Mega Lucario is able to OHKO Zygarde pre-transformation at +2 and have a good chance of 2HKOing Giratina-O after Stealth Rock with Meteor Mash, something Jolly is unable to do.

Team options

* Mega Lucario tends to fit best on Sticky Webs Hyper Offense teams, as it is outpaces every grounded foe in the tier if Sticky Webs are on the field, thus making it less prone to being revenge killed.
Give examples of viable Sticky Web users.

Checks and counters

Toxapex should be the #1 Pokemon in Checks and Counters, Ice Punch is much more common than Earthquake as far as moves are concerned - I use this on teams that don't require the Bullet Punch priority as much, such as my Sticky Webs Hyper Offense. (ordering in the moves section should be reordered to reflect this.) Toxapex walls the main set effectively, unlike Zygarde which can take a reasonable amount of damage and pre-complete forme this evidently more dangerous.

**Zygarde**: Has enough physical bulk to survive a +2 Close Combat even prior to becoming its Complete forme, and dish out heavy damage with Thousand Arrows. Defensive sets can also recover off any damage with rest, Paralyze it with Glare, and faze it out with Dragon Tail. It does have to be careful for the rare Ice Punch though.
Zygarde has about a 43% chance to be OHKO'd by +2 CC after Stealth rock if it hasn't transformed yet, so I would mention that Zygarde has a possible chance to be OHKO'd before Transformation if Stealth Rock is up.

**Arceus**: Arceus formes all tend to run enough speed to specifically outpace Mega Lucario. Arceus-Ground can OHKO with Judgement or Earthquake - depending on the set. Arceus-Water dishes out heavy damage with Judgement and resists Steel-type attacks, and Arceus-Fairy dishes out heavy damage with Judgement - however it should be noted that it doesn't appreciate switching into Steel-type attacks.
Arceus-Fairy and Arceus-Water carry the occasional fire blast respectively as well, this is worth mentioning somewhere in this statement.

Other Options

Agility is also worth considering on Lucario to help out with it's matchup against faster threats/ Offense teams, mention why it's hard dropping other critical moveslots however.

* Mega Lucario is also one of the most difficult Pokemon in the tier to switch into,(RC) thanks to its ability Adaptability meaning that it's STAB moves do 2x damage, rather than 1.5 (dex info) and the fact that it's dual STAB moves are its STAB combination is only resisted by Ho-Oh and Toxapex.
* Although Mega Lucario's better matchups tend tends to be against more bulkier-(RH)oriented playstyles such as balance, the prevalence of Ho-Oh, Toxapex,(AC) and Zygarde has hindered hinders its viability and often forces it to run moves that don't utilize its ability,(RC) Adaptability, such as Stone Edge, Earthquake,(AC) and Ice Punch,(AC) to beat said threats. (Otherwise this wouldn't be correct because the set doesn't include any of these)
* It Mega Lucario faces competition from offensive Necrozma-DM to be placed on teams, as Necrozma-(AH)DM's increased natural bulk allows it to have an easier time setting up,(RC) and switching in, and it also makes for a reliable Xerneas check,(RC) and it doesn't have to use up a Mega slot. Thus,(AC) resulting in Mega Lucario being is primarily placed on hyper offense playstyles.

Moves
========

It is also Lucario's only means of hitting common Ghost-types such as Marshadow, Mega Gengar,(AC) and both Giratina formes.
* Close Combat is Mega Lucario's most reliable Fighting-type attack,(RC) and most powerful commonly ran STAB move, OHKOing Yveltal after Stealth Rock damage, Ferrothorn, and opposing Mega Lucario's Lucario. As well as 2HKOing Close Combat also 2HKOes many common threats such as Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock damage, Necrozma-DM, Primal Kyogre, and Magearna.
* Bullet Punch allows Mega Lucario to revenge kill faster,(RC) weakened foes.(period) Which can be and is especially useful for dealing with a +2 Xerneas, as it does up to 50% to it.
* Stone Edge allows Mega Lucario to KO Ho-Oh, which otherwise resists Lucario's dual STAB moves.
* Earthquake can be used to deal more damage to Toxapex,(RC) and allows Mega Lucario to dish out heavy damage to some Steel-types without having to deal with defense drops, but it doesn't really serve any other purpose and Lucario doesn't really appreciate giving up any of its other moves.
* Ice Punch can be used to deal with Zygarde-C, which otherwise walls Mega Lucario,(AC) and it also does heavy damage to Mega Salamence, however but Lucario doesn't really appreciate losing any of its over moves.

Set Details
========

* Justified is Mega Lucario's best ability to run prior to Mega Evolution, giving it an Attack raise every time it switches into a Dark-type attack.
* Lucarionite is required in order for Lucario to Mega Evolve.
* Maximum Speed investment and a Jolly nature allows Mega Lucario to take advantage of its Speed tier. (What notable threats does it outspeed?)
* Maximum Attack results in the best possible damage output.
* An Adamant nature can be a nice option for if Lucario is used on Sticky Webs Web teams, as it still outspeeds every grounded foe in the tier if Sticky Webs are Web is up, and an Adamant nature enables it to OHKO Zygarde pre-transformation at +2 with Close Combat and potentially 2HKO Giratina-O with Meteor Mash.

Usage Tips
========

* Against offensive teams, it is often better to simply attack what's in front of Lucario, as offensive teams tend to run more frail Pokemon, and Lucario should be used more late-game,(RC) once everything's everything has been weakened down to the point where Lucario does not need to set up in the first place.
* Lucario has rather mediocre bulk, so avoid bringing it in directly on attacks. Instead,(AC) bring it in by U-turn from partners such as Yveltal, double switching, or by sacrificing a weakened partner.
* Despite the fact that Lucario gets an Attack raise if it switches in on a Dark-type attack prior to Mega Evolution thanks to its ability Justified, Lucario should avoid switching into Dark-type Pokemon, as it is 2HKO'd 2HKOed by Dark Pulse from offensive Yveltals Yveltal and Foul Play from defensive sets, and,(AC) while Arceus-Dark and Mega Sableye have significantly less damage output, however both of them run Will-O-Wisp, which can render Lucario almost useless if it switches into it,(RC) as Lucario's attack is halved by burns.
* Swords Dance is best used either against bulkier oriented teams where Lucario is going to take minimal damage if the opponent chooses not to switch out. Examples of these are Pokemon such as setup targets are Celesteela, Chansey, Blissey,(AC) and Ferrothorn.

Team Options

* Mega Lucario tends to fit best on hyper offensive Sticky Webs Hyper Offense Web teams, as it is outpaces every grounded foe in the tier if Sticky Webs are Web is on the field, thus making it less prone to being revenge killed. Therefore,(AC) it appreciates having Sticky Web setters such as Smeargle and Shuckle.
* Yveltal makes an excellent partner,(AC) as it deals with Mega Gengar, Marshadow,(AC) and Lugia. Yveltal also appreciates Mega Lucarios Lucario's ability to threaten Xerneas, Arceus Fairy,(AC) and special walls such as Chansey and Blissey.
* Primal Groudon is a brilliant partner for Mega Lucario, as it sets up Stealth Rock, which weakens opposing Pokemon and makes it easier for Mega Lucario to sweep late-game. This is especially useful for dealing with Ho-Oh and Lugia, as Ho-Oh's HP is reduced by 50% if it switches in when Stealth Rock is on the field, and Lugia's Multiscale is broken, reducing its ability to check Mega Lucario. Primal Groudon also provides teams with a primary check to Xerneas, which means that Mega Lucario either doesn't have to deal with it at all or makes it has an easier for Mega Lucario to time revenge KOing it with Bullet Punch. Furthermore, it Primal Groudon is able to easily deal with Toxapex, beat Marshadow 1v1 one-on-one,(AC) and KO Ho-Oh it opts to run a Rock-type attack.
* Primal Kyogre is a useful partner for Mega Lucario, as it threatens physically defensive Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, Arceus-Ground,(AC) and Ho-Oh, all of which either outspeed Mega-(RH)Lucario or have enough natural bulk to be able to survive a +2 Close Combat. Primal Kyogre also appreciates Mega Lucario's ability to break through many of Primal Kyogre's its defensive checks such as Chansey, Blissey,(AC) and Ferrothorn.
* Xerneas has brilliant offensive synergy with Mega Lucario, as it is able to easily break through teams and deal with foes such as Yveltal, Zygarde-C, and Marshadow. Choice Scarf sets can also act as a cleric, removing burns or curing paralysis for on Mega Lucario. Xerneas also appreciate's appreciates Mega Lucario's ability to break through or weaken many of Xerneas' its checks such as Necrozma-DM, Ferrothorn, and Primal Groudon, Chansey, and Blissey.

* A special set can be ran,(RC) with Nasty Plot, Vacuum Wave, Flash Cannon, and Focus Blast/Aura Sphere either Focus Blast or Aura Sphere. But However,(AC) this set is outclassed by the physical set, as it relies on Mega Lucario's weaker Special Attack stat, it has to rely on a 70% accurate move in Focus Blast for decent damage output as because Aura Sphere doesn't even 2HKO Blissey, and prevents Mega Lucario from being able to revenge kill Xerneas, Marshadow,(AC) and Mega Gengar.
* High Jump Kick can be used over Close Combat, as a +2 High Jump Kick has a chance to OHKO Zygarde (say Zygarde-C if it's supposed to be that) after Stealth Rock damage, but it is far less spammable than Close Combat,(AC) since Lucario as it risks losing 50% of Lucario's its health if the move misses or if the opponent switches into a Ghost-type Pokemon.
* An All-Out-Attacking all-out attacking set with Meteor Mash, Close Combat, Ice Punch, and Earthquake can be used with Mega Lucario, which Meteor Mash / Close Combat / Ice Punch / Earthquake solves the problem of it Lucario being walled by certain Pokemon,(RC);(SC) however,(AC) this means that it's its offensive presence isn't as dominating and it misses out on running priority, thus making it less efficient at revenge killing.
* Agility is an option that can be considered on Mega Lucario, placing it in a Speed tier where it's less prone to being revenge killed, however but Mega Lucario doesn't really have the space on in its moveslot for it, and it doesn't really have the bulk to pull off a double dancing Double Dance set.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Toxapex**: Toxapex resists both of Mega Lucario's STAB moves,(RC) and can remove any of Mega Lucario's boosts with Haze, recover off any damage with Recover,(AC) and potentially burn it with Scald. It does have to be careful for of the rare Earthquake,(AC) though.

**Zygarde-C**: Zygarde has enough physical bulk to survive a +2 Close Combat even prior to becoming its Complete forme,(RC) and can dish out heavy damage with Thousand Arrows. Defensive sets can also recover off any damage with Rest, Paralyze it Lucario with Glare, and faze it out phaze it with Dragon Tail. It does have to be careful for the rare Ice Punch,(AC) though, and it has a chance to be OHKOed after Stealth Rock by a +2 Close Combat if it hasn't transformed yet.

**Ho-Oh**: Ho-Oh hard-(AH)counters any set that is not running Stone Edge,(AC) as it resists both of Lucario's STAB moves and can OHKO it with Sacred Fire. It does have to be cautious switching into Mega Lucario if Stealth Rock is up, especially if it's at +2 or more.

**Marshadow**: Marshadow is arguably the biggest offensive threat to Mega Lucario, as it outpaces Mega Lucario, has enough bulk to survive a +2 Bullet Punch,(AC) and can steal Mega Lucario's boosts with Spectral Thief.

**Lugia**: Lugia is 4x resists resistant to Fighting-type attacks,(AC) and has enough natural bulk to not be too bothered by its Lucario's Steel-type attacks, and can faze it out phaze it with Whirlwind. However,(AC) it does however struggle to check a +2 Mega Lucario if Stealth Rock is up.

**Arceus Formes**: Arceus formes all tend to run enough Speed investment to specifically outpace Mega Lucario. Arceus-Ground can OHKO with Judgement Judgment or Earthquake,(AC) - depending on the set.(period) Arceus-Water dishes out heavy damage with Judgement Judgment and resists Steel-type attacks, and Arceus-Fairy also dishes out heavy damage with Judgement,(AC) but - however it should be noted that it doesn't appreciate switching into Steel-type attacks. Furthermore, both Arceus-Water and Arceus-Fairy occasionally run Fire Blast, which OHKOes Mega Lucario.

**Mega-(RH)Gengar**: Mega Gengar outspeeds Mega Lucario and is able to either OHKO it with Focus Blast, dish out heavy damage with Shadow Ball or Hex, or potentially trade KOs with Destiny Bond. However,(AC) Mega Gengar it does not appreciate taking Steel-type attacks.

**Flying-type Pokemon**: Flying-type Pokemon such as Arceus-Flying and Mega Salamence pose a great threat to Mega Lucario,(AC) as they tend to outpace Mega Lucario and are immune to Sticky Web,(AC) so they are able to revenge KO kill Mega Lucario even if Webs are the hazard is on the field. While Mega Salamence often tends to run an Adamant nature over a Jolly nature (I don't see why this part is relevant), it cuts Mega Lucario's Attack by one stage prior to Mega Evolving and is able to OHKO it with an Aerialate boosted Aerilate-boosted Double-Edge. It is also worth noting that a Jolly Double-Edge from Jolly Mega Salamence also OHKOs OHKOes Mega Lucario.

**Status**: While Mega Lucario's Steel typing allows it to be immune to Poison.(period),(AC) it is heavily crippled by burns and paralysis, as burns cut its Attack in half and paralysis cuts its Speed in half combined with a 25% chance that Lucario will be completely immobilized (not necessary), thus making it easy to revenge kill.

GP 2/2
[OVERVIEW]

* Mega Lucario has a great offensive presence in the Ubers metagame,(space)boasting a base 145 Attack, access to Swords Dance,(RC) and powerful STAB moves in Meteor Mash and Close Combat, and a powerful means of priority to revenge kill foes with Bullet Punch.
* Mega Lucario is also one of the most difficult Pokemon in the tier to switch into thanks to its ability Adaptability and the fact that its STAB combination is only resisted by Ho-Oh and Toxapex.
* Although Mega Lucario's better matchups tend to be against more bulkier playstyles such as balance, the prevalence of Ho-Oh, Toxapex, and Zygarde hinders its viability and often forces it to run non-Adaptability-boosted moves that don't utilize its ability, Adaptability, such as Stone Edge, Earthquake, and Ice Punch (RC) to beat said threats.

Moves
========

* Close Combat is Mega Lucario's most reliable Fighting-type attack (RC) and most powerful commonly ran STAB move, OHKOing Yveltal after Stealth Rock damage, Ferrothorn, and opposing Mega Lucario.
* Earthquake can be used to deal more damage to Toxapex and allows Mega Lucario to dish out heavy damage to some Steel-types without having to deal with defense drops, but it doesn't really serve any other purpose and Lucario doesn't appreciate giving up any of its other moves.
* Ice Punch can be used to deal with Zygarde-C, which otherwise walls Mega Lucario, and it also does heavy damage to Mega Salamence, but Lucario doesn't appreciate losing any of its over moves.

Set Details
========

* Justified is Mega Lucario's best ability to run prior to Mega Evolution, giving it an Attack raise every time if it switches into a Dark-type attack.

Usage Tips
========

========

This is especially useful for dealing with Ho-Oh and Lugia, as Ho-Oh's HP is reduced by 50% if it switches in when Stealth Rock is on the field, and Lugia's Multiscale is broken, reducing its ability to check Mega Lucario is reduced if its Multiscale is broken. Primal Groudon also provides teams with a primary check to Xerneas, which means that Mega Lucario either doesn't have to deal with it at all or has an easier time revenge KOing killing it with Bullet Punch. Furthermore, Primal Groudon is able to easily deal with Toxapex, beat Marshadow one-on-one, and KO Ho-Oh if it opts to run a Rock-type attack.
* Primal Kyogre is a useful partner for Mega Lucario, as it threatens physically defensive Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, Arceus-Ground,(AC) and Ho-Oh, all of which either outspeed Mega Lucario or have enough natural bulk to be able to survive a +2 Close Combat.
Xerneas also appreciates Mega Lucario's ability to break through or weaken many of Xerneas' Xerneas's checks such as Necrozma-DM, Ferrothorn, Primal Groudon, Chansey, and Blissey.

Other Options
=============

* A special set can be ran run with Nasty Plot, Vacuum Wave, Flash Cannon, and either Focus Blast or Aura Sphere. However, this set is outclassed by the physical set, as it relies on Mega Lucario's weaker lower Special Attack stat, it has to rely on a 70% accurate move in Focus Blast for decent damage output because Aura Sphere doesn't even 2HKO Blissey, and prevents Mega Lucario from being able to revenge kill Xerneas, Marshadow, and Mega Gengar.
* High Jump Kick can be used over Close Combat, as a +2 High Jump Kick has a chance to OHKO Zygarde after Stealth Rock damage, but it is far less spammable than Close Combat, since Lucario risks losing 50% of its health if the move misses or if the opponent switches into go a Ghost-type Pokemon.
* An all-out attacking set with Meteor Mash, Close Combat, Ice Punch, and Earthquake can be used with Mega Lucario, which Meteor Mash / Close Combat / Ice Punch / Earthquake solves the problem of Lucario being walled by certain Pokemon;(space)however, this means that its offensive presence isn't as dominating and it misses out on running priority, thus making it less efficient at revenge killing.
* Agility is an option that can be considered on Mega Lucario, placing it in a Speed tier where it's less prone to being revenge killed, however but Mega Lucario doesn't really have the space in its moveslot for it, and it doesn't really have the bulk to pull off a Double Dance set.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Toxapex**: Toxapex resists both of Mega Lucario's STAB moves (RC) and can remove any of Mega Lucario's boosts with Haze, recover off any damage with Recover, and potentially burn it with Scald. It does have to be careful of the rare Earthquake, though.

**Zygarde-C**: Zygarde has enough physical bulk to survive a +2 Close Combat even prior to becoming its Complete forme (RC) and can dish out heavy damage with Thousand Arrows. Defensive sets can also recover off any damage with Rest, paralyze it Lucario with Glare, and phaze it with Dragon Tail. It does have to be careful for the rare Ice Punch, though, and it has a chance to be OHKOed after Stealth Rock by +2 Close Combat if it hasn't transformed yet.

**Ho-Oh**: Ho-Oh hard counters (RH) any set that is not running Stone Edge, as it resists both of Lucario's STAB moves and can OHKO it with Sacred Fire. It does have to be cautious switching into Mega Lucario if Stealth Rock is up, especially if it's at +2.

**Marshadow**: Marshadow is arguably the biggest offensive threat to Mega Lucario, as it outpaces Mega Lucario, has enough bulk to survive a +2 Bullet Punch,(AC) and can steal Mega Lucario's boosts with Spectral Thief.

**Flying-type Pokemon**: Flying-type Pokemon such as Arceus-Flying and Mega Salamence pose a great threat to Mega Lucario, as they tend to outpace Mega Lucario and are immune to Sticky Web, so they are able to revenge KO kill Mega Lucario even if the hazard is on the field.
