Hello everyone, and welcome to my first hosted NOC. Instead of stealing a setup or idea from someone qualified like a normal person would, I have decided to try something original based on a few different inspirations; the game is mainly themed around Mega evolution to put it in line with Pokemon Legends Z/A coming out soon! Additionally, the game also pays some homage to the phase shift mechanics from Duskfall98's excellent Elden Ring Mafia, albeit in a more fit-for-NOC way.
Rules:
1. Follow all Smogon and Circus Maximus forum rules (summary: listen to hosts and don't be too much of an asshat).
2. Days will last 48 hours with nights being 24 hours. Nights may start early if hammer is reached, but new days will only ever start at the usual deadline of 2PM PST (UTC-8).
3. If the lynch vote is tied at the end of the day, no one will die. If a majority of all living players vote for someone, hammer will be reached and the day will end instantly, killing that person.
Setup Info:
1. The core of the setup is that everyone has two forms: a standard Pokemon and its associated Mega evolution. Players must meet certain criteria in order to Mega evolve which will be outlined in their role PM; it's worth noting that Mega evolutions will not be announced publicly when they happen. Flavor plays heavily into the role design to the extent that knowledge of it will likely be useful to players, but not for determining alignment. Mega forms may change the abilities of a player, but never their flavor or alignment. No bastard shenanigans here.
2. This is a role madness game (there are no vanillas), and players will be aware of their Mega form's abilities at the start of the game along with their starting abilities. Some players will retain their basic abilities after evolution, while others won't; this will also be detailed in role PMs.
3. In addition to their standard abilities, all non-town players also have a one-shot visitor action that earns another charge upon Mega evolution. This ability does nothing besides visit the chosen target.
4. The game is designed for 18 players with a normal ratio of town to mafia, along with a neutral that is only allied with themselves.
5. There is no “priority” system for night actions; everything is resolved simultaneously.
6. The mafia have access to a private Discord server to coordinate in, but they may not use it during day phases.
7. Please cast your votes in bold text, and refrain from using it for other purposes aside from voting and asking me questions.
