Meteor Beam Lunala has been making waves as a wincon in AG due to its ability to lure in and KO key defensive staples in Yveltal and Ho-Oh. Additionally, Shadow Shield lets Lunala soft check the likes of Groudon, Zekrom, and Zygarde-C, providing valuable defensive utility. Ice Beam is needed in order to KO specially defensive Yveltal after nailing it with Meteor Beam, as well as Groudon, Zygarde-C, and Zekrom. Roost offsets any chip damage that Lunala receives, such as from entry hazards, letting it preserve Shadow Shield. Teammates that can deal with troublesome answers to Lunala such as Blissey, Eternatus, and Tyranitar like Zacian-C and Marshadow are useful. Calyrex-S is an amazing partner for Lunala, as it appreciates Yveltal being weakened by Meteor Beam in order for it to sweep better. Defensive partners that can beat threats like Zacian-C, Kyogre, and Calyrex-S Lunala's weak to, such as Necrozma-DM, Eternatus, and Yveltal, respectively, are appreciated. Additionally, Yveltal is useful for Defog support, letting Lunala come into the field safely and maintain Shadow Shield.
