[SET COMMENTS]

Lycanroc is a fearsome setup sweeper thanks to its access to Swords Dance, a high Speed stat, and ability to pressure common Pokemon like Rotom-F, Cramorant, and Centiskorch. Close Combat allows Lycanroc to bust through Pokemon that would otherwise be able to check it such as Magneton and Rhydon. After a Swords Dance boost, Lycanroc is capable of OHKOing Piloswine, Ferroseed, and Galarian-Stunfisk. Accelrock provides Lycanroc with STAB priority, OHKOing Quiver Dance-boosted Frosmoth and Accelgor as well as allowing it to pick off weakened offensive threats like Cinccino and Choice Scarf Rotom.

Physically defensive walls such as Palossand, Tangela, and Cofagrigus need to be eliminated or severely weakened before Lycanroc can sweep. Special attackers such as Rotom and Vanilluxe that can break these Pokemon are useful. Lycanroc struggles with bulky Fighting-types such as Gurdurr and Poliwrath, so Pokemon that pressure them such as Rotom-S and Cramorant are appreciated. Rotom-S can also use Volt Switch to bring Lycanroc in safely. Spike support from Garbodor and Qwilfish helps Lycanroc weaken its checks for a late-game sweep. They can also help check offensive threats like Choice Scarf Sawk and Basculin respectively. Uxie is one of Lycanroc's best partners, pressuring the aforementioned Fighting-types and can assist Lycanroc with its utility options such as Stealth Rock and U-Turn. Uxie can also provide dual screens support, giving Lycanroc additional opportunities to setup.

[SET COMMENTS]

Lycanroc's Choice Band-boosted attacks and coverage options turn it into a powerful wallbreaker for offensive teams. Close Combat provides coverage for Steel-types like Ferroseed and Galarian Stunfisk while also hitting certain Ground-types like Rhydon and Silvally-Ground. Psychic Fangs allows Lycanroc to 2HKO bulky Fighting-types like Gurdurr and Poliwrath that would otherwise be able to safely switch into it. Alternatively, Crunch allows Lycanroc to pressure Palossand and Cofagrigus after they have consumed their Colbur Berry.

Pivots such as Uxie, Wishiwashi, and Rotom-F are appreciated to bring Lycanroc in safely since it has poor bulk. Lycanroc is walled by the likes of Tangela and Palossand so Pokemon that can handle them such as Cramorant and Vanilluxe synergize well with Lycanroc. In return, Lycanroc breaks their checks like Altaria and Audino respectively. Set-up sweepers such as Silvally-Ghost and Frosmoth appreciate Lycanroc's walbreaking capability, giving them opportunities to sweep late-game.

Other Options
=============

Toxic would allow Lycanroc to cripple physically defensive walls such as Tangela and Palossand though Lycanroc can't really afford to give up any of its coverage moves for it. Lycanroc can run an offensive Stealth Rock set with Taunt and Focus Sash but struggles to be effective due to its poor bulk and bad matchup against other Stealth Rock setters like Rhydon.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Physically defensive walls such as Palossand and Tangela are able to wall Lycanroc. Other physically defensive Pokemon like Rhydon and Cofagrigus can check Lycanroc but only if they are kept healthy.

**Fighting-types**: Bulky Fighting-types like Gurdurr and Poliwrath resist Lycanroc's Stone Edge and are able to stomach most of Lycanroc's coverage if kept healthy. While it can't switch in directly, Choice Scarf Sawk outspeeds Lycanroc and resists its Accelrock.

**Revenge Killers:** Choice Scarf users such as Sawk and Gourgeist-S outspeed Lycanroc and are able to tank Accelrock. Other faster attackers such as Alolan Persian can pick off a weakened Lycanroc with Foul Play while Cinccino is able to OHKO Lycanroc with Bullet Seed, though it must stay healthy in order to take Accelrock

Crunch could be run on Choice Band to hit Palossand for super effective damage though it typically runs Colbur Berry regardless. (Remove this line since I've suggested to have it slashed) Toxic would allow Lycanroc to cripple physically defensive walls such as Tangela and Palossand though Lycanroc can't really afford to give up any of its coverage moves for it. Add in **Revenge Killers** Choice Scarf users like Choice Scarf Sawk and Gourgeist-S threaten to revenge kill Lycanroc and tank Accelock. Faster Pokemon like Cinccino threaten to OHKO Lycanroc with Bullet Seed while Alolan Persian can revenge kill a weakened Lycanroc with Foul Play or use Parting Shot to make it easier to switch into.
