Bridgeburner
Here i am, for the third time this month ! (Yes, i like to teambuild as you may now see, it's not my fault if this generetion is a banger from... Z to A !) Well, let's put my horrible jokes aside and let's jump right into buisness, shall we ? As this time, i wanted to make something actually good and not just "Niche" or "Unique". And so, i put up a team that, THIS TIME, i believe to be one of my first actual good creation.
Marshmallow EX (Altaria) (F) @ Altarianite
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 92 SpD / 28 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Roost
- Return
- Earthquake/Fire Blast/Ice Beam
Mega-Altaria is the starter of my team, being able to shread the whole Metagame, (Don't take that literally, Metagross and Scizor still exists) With it's unusual typing and overall great statistic; like, did you know that this Marshmallow looking bird tanks both Charizard X & Y !? Yeah, i didn't know. This Pokémon is the stample of this team, as it can check things like Mega-Lopunny, Keldeo, Thunderus, Garchomp and so much more. It is both good offensively and defensively, capable to come on the Hard Switch like it's nothing and threaten your opponent with an evil Earthquake if his Heatran is feeling a bit too bold. Alternatively you can use Fire Blast as it can also be usefull agaisnt a unwelcomed Metagross or a Skarmory. Ice Beam is to touch Landorus or Gliscor.... but i find little use to it quite frankly.
Dispite it all, Altaria struggles against foes like Heatran, Skarmory and overall all the steel types if it lacks the proper tools to it. It is also quite slow, as 80 speed is above average in ORAS; so be mindfull of it's speed (Or use Dragon Dance if possible).
Absolute Radiance (Volcarona) (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Flame Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Flamethrower
- Bug Buzz
- Giga Drain/Hidden Power Ground
The light that infected all of Hallownest.... Ok, Wrong Game.
Being one, if not the most feared Pokemon in the Metagame, Volcarona as the absolute right to be in this team; as it already really pair well with Altaria. Being able to clean up after a bit of rampage form Weavile and Altaria, it basically only need one Quiver Dance to start his supremacy on the terrain (492 in Speed is absolutely crazy). Here, if you play Fire Blast on Altaria; you may want to play Hidden Power Ground to have a way to counter for him. But overall, you should be fine.
Now, yes. Stealth rocks are a big problem for him, so keeping Excadrill alive is almost a must. On top of that, you aren't safe from Scarfed Foes who can just tank a hit a blow your precious bug into the abyss..... Ok, i'll stop.
Nosk (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Def / 212 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Roost/Knock Off
Gliscor is (as i could understand to be) is a pseudo Landorus, exept ? In better.
"Yes, but he doesn't have Intimadation". You known what is better then intimation ? Being immortal. Poison Heal alow him to recover 1/8 of it's health, which in itself is a pretty big deal. Coupled with a massive defensive statistic and a blessing of a typing AND the steath rocks, he as made himself a way into my team a wall to Heatran, Tornadus and those annoying Landorus who floods my screen each time i start a match. Knock Off can be quite useful as it is the most spammable move known to the ORAS tier, but you need to be mindful of your health and current situation to do so.
Use this little bat as much as you want, sure; but do not try to mak him to sole defensive pivot in the whole team. Altaria can take Keldeo and Volcanion for a reason. And the 212 Speed that he have is to overtake that pesky Heatran, but it also can be usefull againt slower foes if you want the turn advantage. Oh, and Nosk is my favorite boss, I'LL DIE ON THIS HILL-
Darky (Weavile) (M) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Icicle Crash
- Brick Break
Now all the flying Pokémon where a problem; Tornadus, Thunderus and all'at. So my solution ? To go crazy with Weavile.
This set in perticular is my favorite, as you can bait your opponent to think that you are banded, like 99% of all 'Vile in this tier, and get another Kill right off the bat. For exemple, to tank an Icicle Crash, your oppo sent a Bisharp , beliving that you are stuck on that capacity.... AND BOOM ! Brick Break go BRRRRR ! It also help to weakened the anoying Pokemon like Diancie or Rotom W (in rare occasion, who put that pokemon on a Weavile's turn ?)
Here, same case as Volcarona. The Rocks ! And also that annoying bastard named Scizor but we will get to it later. Weavile is quite fragile, so be aware that this chips can crumbles like cookies.
Drilleur (Excadrill) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 176 HP / 12 Atk / 28 Def / 68 SpD / 224 Spe
Careful Nature
- Toxic
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
If you've played ORAS in under a hot minute, you have just got to see this adorable 2'4 feet mole on the terrain; and that can be explain by two things:
One :
And Two:
Because it is the most important Pokemon of ORAS history alongside Clefable. In resume, with an amazing typing, movepool, bulk and decent offensive output even none all-out; it serves at the perfect spinner in the tier and so by definition a great ally for Volcarona and Weavile. His natural bulk allow him to go out of his way to come, spin and go or attack at will. The set is explained directly in his Smogon page, go give it a read if you want more info that lillte guy.
THE W.A.L.L (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Thunder Wave
- Power Whip
W.A.L.L stands for: Water-Absorbing Living Legend
Ferrothorn is the Anti-Azumarill, Metagross, Leviathor, Scizor; all that is phisical will pass by the WALL ! With the spike and Thunder Wave onboard, he can come and crippled the opposant Pokemon with his longivity? Power Whip can very well serve as a reminder to Rotom W that "Bulky" doesn't mean "Weak"; here's the calc :
0 Atk Ferrothorn Power Whip vs. 252 HP / 248+ Def Rotom-Wash: 168-200 (55.2 - 65.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
So yes, he can very well start to be a complete ass to Gastrodon, Seismitoad and all of those.
Now not to spam that Pokemon everywhere like it can take on the world, Altaria and Gliscor are here too.
And..... that is all ! I hope that you like this team, as much as i do ! My excuse for the Hollow Knight and Ultrakill reference, but i just those games too. In that regard, if you any suggestion, feel free to tell me ! I'll be more then happy to read your messages !
On that, i will now leave you; i hope you well and don't forget....
MANKIND IS DEAD.
BLOOD IS FUEL.
HELL IS FULL.
Praise The Code.
