1v1 Magneton [QC 3/3] [GP 2/2]

[OVERVIEW]

Magneton has a niche in the 1v1 metagame over its evolved counterpart Magnezone due to its ability to outspeed Adamant variants of Mega Gyarados at maximum Speed, which is one of the best Pokemon in the tier and does not utilize a Jolly nature in high levels of play the majority of the time. It retains the fantastic Electric / Steel typing that gives it a large number of resistances. Due to its ability Sturdy, it is able to survive any hit from full HP, allowing it to fire off a powerful Gigavolt Havoc that beats Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y, Kartana, Porygon-Z, and Crustle. Magneton can also utilize its Z-Move in combination with Metal Sound in order to KO bulkier threats such as Tapu Lele, Magearna, and bulky Meloetta and has access to Electroweb in order to outspeed Pokemon such as Mega Gardevoir and Mew. Magneton also serves as a viable answer to the plethora of Water-types that are viable in the 1v1 metagame such as Manaphy, Primarina, and Tapu Fini, utilizing Gigavolt Havoc to KO them. However, despite the fact that Magneton is able to tank almost any single hit and fire off a powerful attack in return, it has trouble versus Pokemon that are able to KO it before it is able to do much to them, such as bulky variants of Mega Metagross, Dragonite, and Mega Charizard X and Ground-types that are simply immune to its moves such as Landorus-T, Donphan, Golem, Excadrill, and Zygarde. Unlike its evolved counterpart, Magnezone, it is unable to learn Mirror Coat, which is the reason why it has trouble versus Pokemon such as Naganadel and Choice Scarf variants of Tapu Lele. It also has lower Special Attack than Magnezone, which prevents it from getting an OHKO on Landorus-T.

Moves
========

Zap Cannon is used specifically to get the highest Base Power Gigavolt Havoc possible, which allows Magneton to score KOs on Pokemon such as Adamant Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard Y, Porygon-Z Kartana, and Mega Slowbro. However, Zap Cannon can also be used for its guaranteed paralysis in many otherwise unwinnable matchups such as offensive Mega Charizard X, Volcarona, Naganadel, and bulky Victini. Metal Sound is essential to beating slow bulky offense and stall Pokemon such as Magearna, Meloetta, and Tapu Lele and slow variants of Mega Venusaur. Electroweb allows Magneton to beat faster Pokemon such as Tapu Lele. Protect serves as a way of retaining full health against Fake Out users such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Medicham. This allows Magneton to tank any of their attacks with its ability, Sturdy, and KO with Gigavolt Havoc in return. Protect can also be used in a prediction against Aegislash, depending on whether it attacks or not. Hidden Power Ground allows Magneton to beat its more common evolved counterpart, Magnezone.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment with a Timid nature allows Magneton to outspeed Pokemon under base 70 Speed, as well as Adamant variants of Mega Gyarados. Maximum Special Attack investment allows Magneton to hit as hard as possible with its Z-Move, Gigavolt Havoc. The rest is put into HP in order to increase Magneton's overall bulk. Sturdy helps Magneton survive almost any hit from full HP.

Usage Tips
========

Magneton's Gigavolt Havoc should be reserved for situations in which it can KO the foe, as regular Zap Cannon is unreliable, with its 50% accuracy, and will not grant Magneton consistent wins. Gigavolt Havoc should be used against foes such as Primarina, Slowbro, and Tapu Fini, as they will be unable to tank the hit. There are two courses of action that should be taken if the foe can tank the Z-Move. If Magneton is faster than the opposing Pokemon, start using Metal Sound If Magneton is slower, use Electroweb to bring down their speed. Being faster Magneton to react more easily to the foe boosting their Special Defense, recovering, or using an attack. Against Substitute users such as Torrent Greninja and Mega Pinsir, use Electroweb in order to break their Substitute, as it is more reliable than Zap Cannon. Utilizing Metal Sound allows Magneton to take out Pokemon such as bulky variants of Meloetta and Magearna with a stronger Gigavolt Havoc. Against Fake Out users that do not carry Substitute such as non-Substitute Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Mega Blastoise, use Protect to prevent them from breaking Sturdy. Use Gigavolt Havoc on the next turn to KO them. Against an opposing Aegislash, it's best to use Protect if you predict an attack turn one, allowing you to use Gigavolt Havoc if you predict them to attack again. If you predict King's Shield, use Metal Sound followed by Gigavolt Havoc. Use the combination of Electroweb and Hidden Power Ground to beat opposing Magnezone and Magneton that do not carry Hidden Power Ground. If they do, the matchup becomes a Speed tie. In the case of losing matchups such as Choice Scarf Sawk and Mega Charizard X, use Zap Cannon and hope for a hit. If it does hit, use Gigavolt Havoc immediately after, followed by the most accurate moves in your moveset, as the chance of full paralysis can help win this matchup.

Team Options
========

Magneton should be used in conjunction with Pokemon like Greninja, bulky Tapu Lele, defensive Mega Swampert, Occa Berry Whimsicott, and defensive Mega Gyarados that can beat the multitude of viable Ground- and Dragon-types such as Landorus-T, Donphan, Golem, Garchomp, Dragonite, and Mega Charizard X that beat Magneton. Magneton also supports them with good matchups versus offensive threats such as Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Tapu Lele, Primarina, Porygon-Z, and Tapu Fini. Magneton can work well in a Dragon / Steel / Fairy core, appreciating the support from Pokemon like Dragonite, Kommo-o, and Magearna to take out Pokemon such as Golem and Donphan, while Magneton helps beat the Pokemon mentioned earlier. Pair Magneton with answers to Jumpluff and Smeargle such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Lopunny, and Zeraora.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Checks and Counters
===================

**Pokemon with Electric-type Immunities**: Pokemon that are immune to Gigavolt Havoc wall Magneton, and the majority of its coverage options are not enough to take on such threats. Those threats include Donphan, Golem, Landorus-T, Zygarde, Garchomp, Mega Swampert, Excadrill, Zeraora, Thundurus-T, and Alolan Marowak.

**Mold Breaker Users**: Pokemon such as the rarely seen Jolly Earthquake Mega Gyarados, Haxorus, Hawlucha, and Choice Scarf Rampardos can all ignore Magneton's Sturdy and OHKO it with strong super effective moves before Magneton even has a chance to attack.

**Fast or Offensive Dragon- and Grass-type Pokemon**: Offensive Pokemon that resist Magneton's Gigavolt Havoc such as Mega Charizard X, Kommo-o, and Tapu Bulu can 2HKO Magneton with their coverage moves.

**Specially Defensive Offensive Pokemon**: Pokemon that can naturally survive a Gigavolt Havoc and hit Magneton super effectively such as specially defensive variants of Mega Metagross, Mega Tyranitar, and Hoopa-U beat it.

**Faster Sturdy or Bulky Pokemon with Speed Control**: Sturdy Pokemon such as Carracosta and Sawk have options to beat Magneton. Carracosta has Aqua Jet to defeat Magneton after its Sturdy is no longer in effect. Sawk is able to use options such as Rock Tomb and Choice Scarf to keep its Speed advantage versus Magneton and 2HKO it. Dragonite, the sole user of Multiscale, is able to tank any attack from Magneton and 2HKO it with the combination of Earthquake and Extreme Speed.

Bolded is additions, strikethrough is stuff that should be removed, underline needs to be edited in some way, red is comments. All information I bring are based on 1630 Usage stats (considering anything at or above 6% as of April 2019 usage relevant) and Calcs.
[OVERVIEW]

  • Magneton has a niche in the metagame over its evolved counterpart Magnezone okay to reference it here since its a direct counterpart due to its ability to outspeed adamant variants of Mega Gyarados at maximum speed mention why thats important (one of the best mons in the tier, usually runs Adamant in tournament/high ladder). It retains the fantastic Electric / Steel Typing with less bulk and Special Attack, but the stats are respectable nonetheless.
  • Due to its ability sturdy, it is able to live any hit while at full HP -- disregarding Mold breaker -- Allowing it to fire off a powerful hit Gigavolt Havoc. This allows it to beat Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y, Kartana, Porygon-Z, and Crustle.
  • Magneton can utilize Metal Sound in order to KO bulkier threats, such as Tapu Lele, Magearna and bulky Meloetta with Z-Zap Cannon. It also can utilize Electroweb in order to outspeed base 129 Pokemon such as list examples and below after using the move.
  • Despite the fact that Magneton is able to tank almost any single hit and fire off a powerful attack in return, it has trouble versus pokemon that are able to KO it before it is able to do such to them, such as bulky variants of Mega Metagross, Dragonite, Mega Charizard X and Ground-types such as Landorus-Therian, Donphan, Golem, Excadrill, and Zygarde.

Mention that it can also essentially 50/50 several normally unwinnable matchups such as offensive Mega Charizard X, Volcarona, Naganadel, and bulky Victini.
  • Metal Sound is essential to beating slow bulky offense and stall Pokemon such as Magearna, Meloetta, Tapu Lele and slow variants of Mega Venusaur.
  • Electroweb lowers the target’s speed by one stage whilst doing chip damage, which allows it to beat Pokemon such as Tapu Lele.
  • Protect serves as a way of retaining full health against fake out users such as Mega Lopunny, Mega Blastoise they don't run Timid, and Mega Medicham. This allows Magneton to tank any of their attacks with its ability, sturdy, and KO with Gigavolt Havoc in return. Mention that it can be used to mess around with Aegislash
  • Hidden Power Ground allows Magneton to lure in and beat its more common evolved counterpart, Magnezone.
Set Details

  • Maximum Speed with a Timid nature allows Magneton to outspeed Pokemon under base 70 speed, along with outspeeding Adamant variants of Mega Gyarados. Maximum Special Attack allows Magneton to hit as hard as possible with its Z-Move, Gigavolt Havoc. Mention 4 HP Sturdy is run in order to tank almost any hit, with the exception of multi-hit moves and moves from Mold Breaker Pokemon such as?.
Usage Tips

If they are slower, use electroweb to bring down their speed. Being faster allows for better reactions to the opponent boosting their special defense, recovering, or using an attack.
  • Utilizing Metal Sound allows Magneton to fire off a Z-Zap Cannon that would do more damage than it would without the prior use of Metal Sound due to the opponent's Special Defense being lower. who do you use this against?
  • Elaborate more on Electroweb plays, like when you should electroweb then attack or eweb then metal sound
  • Against Fake Out users that do not carry substitute, such as Non-Substitute Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Mega Blastoise, use protect to prevent Fake Out damage and its flinch. Use Z-Zap Cannon on the next turn to KO.
  • Mention playing around Aegislash; Protect if you predict an attack turn one, allowing you to either Z move if you predict them to attack again, or metal sound if you predict them to kings shield. Metal Sound if you predict a Kings Shield Turn one, then attack
  • Use the combination of Electroweb and Hidden Power Ground to beat Magnezone and opposing Magneton that does not carry Hidden Power Ground. If they do, the matchup becomes a 50/50. speed tie.
  • In the case of losing matchups such as Choice Scarf Sawk and Mega Charizard X, you can use regular Zap Cannon to hope for a hit. If it does hit, use Z-Zap Cannon immediately after and start using the most accurate moves in your moveset afterward. This is in no way a reliable strategy, but it is useful to know what to do in such a situation.

Other Options

=============

  • Magneton can run a Choice Specs set with Hidden Power Ice and Flash Cannon to help it with Pokemon such as Whimsicott, Landorus-Therian, and Garchomp, but you lose the ability to reliably KO Specially Defensive Mega Gyarados. If you don't
  • Air Balloon can be an option to evade most Ground-Type attacks, but that is outclassed by Magnezone, and loses to Zygarde, as Thousand Arrows bypasses Air Balloon
both of these sets are completely outclassed by the Magnezone alternative, with what information you've given here, especially if you still lose to bulky gyara with specs. I don't think Magneton has any viable Other Options, but if you can find anything lmk

To clarify, just get rid of this, or edit it? Confused a bit.

Also, I said Gyarados (instead of mega) due to the base form being the same speed as mega.

Everything else I'm working on.

Yeah get rid of the other options for now. I'll talk about OOs in QC chat

Also, I said Gyarados (instead of mega) due to the base form being the same speed as mega.
Yeah but when referring to a mon that can mega evolve, you should say the Mega Evolution form unless it has a specific reason not to mega evolve, which it def doesnt.

Everything else I'm working on.

Good first analysis Shyom. Just a one thing:

-specify non-Bullet Punch Mega Metagross if you'd want to add it. That has about 60% usage, which is most Mega Metagross. Specifying non-move mon is supposed to be used only if certain minority variants can run a move to beat you, but considering both bp and eq are at 60%, i would just remove Mega Metagross entirely as an example.

Hey Shyom a few questions:

You've mentioned how Magneton has a niche over Magnezone, but what does Magneton lack that Magnezone have? Mirror Coat, Can run Flash Cannon.
What do you mean by this? Do you want me to mention what it does not have over its Evolved Counterpart, Movewise?

Pair Magneton with speed trap speed trap Pokemon like who? answers such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Lopunny, and Zeraora.
I'm confused as to your phrasing of this.

I've Implemented everything else. Sorry for the late replay working on like 9 things right now.

For the second, just give examples for speed trap pokemon.

Magneton has a niche in the metagame over its evolved counterpart Magnezone due to its ability to outspeed adamant variants of Mega Gyarados at maximum speed. Mega Gyarados is one of the best Pokemon in the tier and utilizes adamant over jolly in high levels of play, [Bring up Earthquake Mega Gyarados as this is really the important part] which Magneton can use to its advantage. It retains the fantastic Electric / Steel Typing with less bulk and Special Attack, but the stats are respectable nonetheless. Due to its ability sturdy, it is able to live any hit while at full HP -- disregarding Mold breaker -- Allowing it to fire off a powerful Gigavolt Havoc. This allows it to beat Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y, Kartana, Porygon-Z, and Crustle. Magneton can utilize Metal Sound in order to KO bulkier threats, such as Tapu Lele, Magearna and bulky Meloetta with Z-Zap Cannon. It also can utilize Electroweb in order to outspeed Pokemon such as Mega Gardevior, Mew, and below after using the move. Magneton also serves as a viable answer to the plethora of Water Types that are viable in the 1v1 metagame, such as Manaphy, Primarina, and Tapu Fini, utilizing Z-Zap Cannon to KO. Despite the fact that Magneton is able to tank almost any single hit and fire off a powerful attack in return, it has trouble versus Pokemon that are able to KO it before it is able to do much to them, such as bulky variants of Mega Metagross, Dragonite, Mega Charizard X and Ground-types who are simply immune to Magneton's moves such as Landorus-Therian, Donphan, Golem, Excadrill, and Zygarde. Unlike its Evolved Counterpart, Magenzone, it is unable to learn Mirror Coat, which is the reason why it has trouble versus pokemon such as Naganadel and Choice Scarf Variants of Tapu Lele. [Bring up the lower special attack as well that would prevent HP Ice guarenteeing a KO on Landorus-T]

Zap Cannon is used specifically to get the highest base power Gigavolt Havoc possible from Magneton, which allows it to score KOs on Pokemon such as Adamant Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard Y, Porygon Z, Kartana, and Mega Slowbro. The base move can also be used as an option because of it's guaranteed paralysis versus many unwinnable matchups such as offensive Mega Charizard X, Volcarona, Naganadel, and bulky Victini. Metal Sound is essential to beating slow bulky offense and stall Pokemon such as Magearna, Meloetta, Tapu Lele and slow variants of Mega Venusaur. Electroweb lowers the target’s speed by one stage whilst doing chip damage, which allows it to beat Pokemon such as Tapu Lele. Protect serves as a way of retaining full health against fake out users such as Mega Lopunny, and Mega Medicham. This allows Magneton to tank any of their attacks with its ability, sturdy, and KO with Gigavolt Havoc in return. Protect can also be used to 50/50 Aegislash, depending on whether they attack or not. Hidden Power Ground allows Magneton to lure in and beat its more common evolved counterpart, Magnezone.
Set Details

========

Maximum Speed with a Timid nature allows Magneton to outspeed Pokemon under base 70 speed, along with outspeeding Adamant variants of Mega Gyarados. Maximum Special Attack allows Magneton to hit as hard as possible with its Z-Move, Gigavolt Havoc. The rest is put into HP in order to increase Magneton’s overall bulk. Sturdy is run in order to tank almost any hit, with the exception of multi-hit moves and moves from Mold Breaker Pokemon such as Sawk and Mega Gyarados
Usage Tips

========

Magneton’s Z-Zap Cannon should be reserved for situations in which it can KO an opponent, as regular Zap Cannon is unreliable, with its 50% accuracy, and will not grant Magneton consistent wins. If the opponent cannot tank the Z-Zap Cannon such as Primarina, Slowbro, and Tapu Fini, use it. There are two courses of action that should be taken if the opponent can tank the Z Move. If Magneton is faster than the opposing Pokemon, start using metal sound against Pokemon such as Magearna and Meloetta. If Magneton is slower, use electroweb to bring down their speed notably against Pokemon such as Tapu Lele and Mew. Being faster allows for better reactions to the opponent boosting their special defense, recovering, or using an attack. Utilizing Metal Sound allows Magneton to fire off a Z-Zap Cannon that would do more damage than it would without the prior use of Metal Sound due to the opponent's Special Defense being lower. Use this on Pokemon such as Bulky variants of Meloetta and Magearna. Against Fake Out users that do not carry substitute, such as Non-Substitute Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Mega Blastoise, use protect to prevent Fake Out damage and its flinch. Use Z-Zap Cannon on the next turn to KO. Against an opposing Aegislash, it's best to protect if you predict an attack turn one allowing you to either Z move if you predict them to attack again. If you predict them to king’s shield, use metal sound, and then use the Z Move. Use the combination of Electroweb and Hidden Power Ground to beat Magnezone and opposing Magneton that does not carry Hidden Power Ground. If they do, the matchup becomes a speed tie. In the case of losing matchups such as Choice Scarf Sawk and Mega Charizard X, you can use regular Zap Cannon to hope for a hit. If it does hit, use Z-Zap Cannon immediately after and start using the most accurate moves in your moveset afterward, as the chance of full paralysis can help win this matchup. This is in no way a reliable strategy, but it is useful to know what to do in such a situation.
[mention what to do against substitute users as Zap Cannon is not spammable]

Team Options

Magneton should be used in conjunction with Pokemon that can beat the multitude of viable Ground and Dragon Types that beat Magneton, such as Greninja, Bulky Tapu Lele, Defensive Mega Swampert, Occa Berry Whimsicott, and Defensive Mega Gyarados Those Pokemon prove to have excellent matchups against those Ground and Dragon Types such as Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, Landorus-T, Donphan, Golem, and Garchomp. Magneton also supports them with good matchups versus offensive threats such as Mega Charizard Y, Magearna, Tapu Lele, Primarina, Porygon Z and Tapu Fini. Magneton can work well in a Dragon / Steel / Fairy core, appreciating the support Pokemon like Dragonite, Kommo-o, and Magearna give for Pokemon such as Golem and Donphan, whilst Magneton helps beat the Pokemon mentioned earlier. Pair Magneton with speed trap Jumpluff and Smeargle [speed trap is not a recognized short hand] answers such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Lopunny, and Zeraora, which handle speed traps such as Jumpluff and Smeargle.

**Pokemon with Electric-Type Immunities**: Pokemon that are immune to Gigavolt Havoc wall Magneton, and the majority of coverage options are not enough to take on such threats. Those threats include but are not limited to Donphan, Golem, Landorus-T, Zygarde, Garchomp, Mega Swampert, Excadrill, Zeraora, Thundurus-T, and Alolan Marowak.

**Fast or Offensive Dragon- or Grass-Type Pokemon**: Offensive Pokemon that resist Magneton’s Z-Zap Cannon such as Mega Charizard X, Kommo-o, and Tapu Bulu can 2HKO Magneton with their coverage moves.

**Specially Defensive Offensive Pokemon**: Pokemon that can naturally survive a Z-Zap Cannon and attack with super effective moves such as Specially Defensive variants of Mega Metagross, Mega Tyranitar, and Hoopa-U beat Magneton.

**Faster Sturdy or bulky Pokemon with Speed control**: Sturdy Pokemon Such as Carracosta and Sawk have options to beat Magneton. Carracosta has Aqua Jet., which has increased priority, allowing it to attack it after bringing Magneton to its Sturdy. Sawk is able to use options such as Rock Tomb and choice scarf to keep its speed advantage versus Magneton and 2HKO it. Dragonite, the sole user of Multiscale, is able to tank any attack from Magneton and 2HKO with the combination of Earthquake and Extreme Speed.

Consider a matchup against Sub Greninja, Riolu, or Flail Mega Pinsir. It’s fairly easy to predict that the Pokémon is going to sub and what’s most important is breaking the sub rather than KOing Pokémon. Because of this even tho Electroweb is a lot weaker it can still break a sub very consistently.

It also has less lower Special Attack than Magnezone, which prevents it from getting an OHKO on Landorus-T.

Moves
========

Zap Cannon is used specifically to get the highest Base Power Gigavolt Havoc possible from Magneton, which allows it Magneton to score KOs on Pokemon such as Adamant Mega Gyarados, Mega Charizard Y, Porygon-Z Kartana, and Mega Slowbro. However, Zap Cannon can also be used as an option because of for its guaranteed paralysis versus in many otherwise unwinnable matchups such as offensive Mega Charizard X, Volcarona, Naganadel, and bulky Victini. Metal Sound is essential to beating slow bulky offense and stall Pokemon such as Magearna, Meloetta, and Tapu Lele (RC) and slow variants of Mega Venusaur. Electroweb lowers the target's Speed by one stage while doing chip damage, which allows Magneton to beat faster Pokemon such as Tapu Lele. Protect serves as a way of retaining full health against Fake Out users such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Medicham. This allows Magneton to tank any of their attacks with its ability, Sturdy, and KO with Gigavolt Havoc in return. Protect can also be used in a prediction against Aegislash, depending on whether they attack it attacks or not. Hidden Power Ground allows Magneton to beat its more common evolved counterpart, Magnezone.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment with a Timid nature allows Magneton to outspeed Pokemon under base 70 Speed, along with outspeeding as well as Adamant variants of Mega Gyarados. Maximum Special Attack investment allows Magneton to hit as hard as possible with its Z-Move, Gigavolt Havoc. The rest is put into HP in order to increase Magneton's overall bulk. Sturdy is run in order to tank almost any hit, with the exception of multi-hit moves and moves from Mold Breaker Pokemon such as Sawk and Mega Gyarados. (rephrase this from an in-battle context)

Usage Tips
========

(AH) Being faster allows for better reactions Magneton to react more easily to the foe boosting their Special Defense, recovering, or using an attack. Against Substitute users such as Torrent Greninja and Mega Pinsir, use Electroweb in order to break their Substitute, as it is more reliable than Zap Cannon. Utilizing Metal Sound allows Magneton to fire off a Gigavolt Havoc that would do more damage than it would without the prior use of Metal Sound due to the foe's Special Defense being lower. Use this on take out Pokemon such as bulky variants of Meloetta and Magearna with a stronger Gigavolt Havoc. Against Fake Out users that do not carry Substitut Substitute such as non-Substitute Mega Lopunny, Mega Medicham, and Mega Blastoise, use Protect to prevent Fake Out damage and its flinch them from breaking Sturdy. Use Gigavolt Havoc on the next turn to KO them. Against an opposing Aegislash, it's best to use Protect if you predict an attack turn one, allowing you to then use Gigavolt Havoc if you predict them to attack again. If you predict the foe might use King's Shield, use Metal Sound followed by Gigavolt Havoc. Use the combination of Electroweb and Hidden Power Ground to beat opposing Magnezone and Magneton that do not carry Hidden Power Ground. If they do, the matchup becomes a Speed tie. In the case of losing matchups such as Choice Scarf Sawk and Mega Charizard X, use Zap Cannon to and hope for a hit. If it does hit, use Gigavolt Havoc immediately after, (AC) followed by the most accurate moves in your moveset, as the chance of full paralysis can help win this matchup.

Team Options
========

Magneton can work well in a Dragon / Steel / Fairy core, appreciating the support from Pokemon like Dragonite, Kommo-o, and Magearna give for to take out Pokemon such as Golem and Donphan, while Magneton helps beat the Pokemon mentioned earlier. Pair Magneton with answers to Jumpluff and Smeargle such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Lopunny, and Zeraora.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Specially Defensive Offensive Pokemon**: Pokemon that can naturally survive a Gigavolt Havoc and attack with super effective moves hit Magneton super effectively such as specially defensive variants of Mega Metagross, Mega Tyranitar, and Hoopa-U beat Magneton it.

**Faster Sturdy or Bulky Pokemon with Speed Control**: Sturdy Pokemon such as Carracosta and Sawk have options to beat Magneton. Carracosta has Aqua Jet, which has increased priority, allowing it to defeat Magneton after its Sturdy is no longer in effect.

I think suggesting Sawk runs Mold Breaker is misleading.... Prolly, I think Excadrill could be suggested, or just leave it at Mega Gyarados imo. Sorry for this very late input, just saw it..
