UU Mamoswine [QC: 3/3] [GP: 2/2]

:ss/Mamoswine:

[OVERVIEW]

Mamoswine is a great wallbreaker in UU due to its offensive typing that allows it to muscle through common walls like Tangrowth and Chansey. Ice Shard also gives it a priority option to threaten many faster threats like Alakazam, Salamence, and Galarian Moltres. Knock Off provides great utility to punish common switch-ins such as Rotom-H, Rotom-W, and Skarmory. Unfortunately, Mamoswine has low defenses and a bad defensive typing, making it easy prey for common threats like Keldeo and Lycanroc-D. Without Thick Fat, it has virtually no defensive utility outside of switching into Electric-type attacks, and even then it cannot always check certain Electric-type threats, like Zeraora, which KOes Mamoswine with Close Combat after minimal chip damage. Other Ground-type wallbreakers offer better defensive utility, like Nidoqueen, which is able to check Zeraora much more easily. Mamoswine is also quite slow, having no chance to outspeed common threats like Jirachi and Lycanroc-D. It is also weak to common priority attacks from Pokemon like Azumarill and Scizor.

[SET COMMENTS]

Ice Shard can threaten many faster threats like Galarian Moltres, Alakazam, and Zarude, and it can also OHKO offensive Salamence and Zygarde-10%. Knock Off is used to punish and cripple a switch-in such as Rotom-H, Rotom-W, or Skarmory, allowing Mamoswine or another teammate to break past it more easily later. Thick Fat offers good defensive utility against Kyurem and better protection against Rotom-H. Oblivious is also an option, as it blocks Intimidate to allow Mamoswine to retain its wallbreaking potential against Pokemon like Salamence and Incineroar. Life Orb is preferred, as it allows Mamoswine to safely 2HKO almost anything in the tier, including Celesteela and Chansey. A Jolly nature can be used to outspeed unboosted Galarian Moltres and Timid Volcanion, but the loss in power significantly limits Mamoswine's breaking potential.

After Mamoswine breaks down the enemy team early-game, a cleaner like Gyarados or Nihilego can finish it off for a late-game sweep. A pivot like Zeraora or Rotom-W can lure in Grass-types like Tapu Bulu and Amoonguss and then pivot to Mamoswine for a more favorable matchup. Teaming Mamoswine up with a special wallbreaker like Thundurus-T, Keldeo, or Alakazam will help the team break past Pokemon like Skarmory, Rotom-H, and Rotom-W, all of which Mamoswine struggles against. Skarmory in particular is difficult for Mamoswine to break through, and a teammate like Magnezone can help remove it from play entirely. Mamoswine is vulnerable to priority moves from Scizor, Conkeldurr, Crawdaunt, and Azumarill; Amoonguss can switch into most of these hits and threaten Crawdaunt and Azumarill with Giga Drain or Scizor with Spore. Amoonguss also helps against Zeraora and Rotom-W, which Mamoswine usually cannot stay in against, as they both threaten it with super effective attacks. Since Mamoswine is slow, it will need a teammate like Alakazam or Lycanroc-D to help deal with fast threats like Keldeo and Lycanroc-D.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Mamoswine can be used as a Stealth Rock setter, as Oblivious blocks Taunt from users like Grimmsnarl, but removing any of Mamoswine's four main moves severely limits its wallbreaking potential. Freeze-Dry is an option to OHKO Quagsire and nearly OHKO Gastrodon with Life Orb as well as better pressure Rotom-W. The utility offered by Knock Off is generally better, though, as it does nearly the same amount of damage as Freeze-Dry to Rotom-W, and Mamoswine can already nearly 2HKO Gastrodon and Quagsire with Earthquake. A Choice Scarf set allows Mamoswine to outspeed its typical fast checks like Zeraora and Lycanroc-D, but outspeeding them requires a Jolly nature, further reducing Mamoswine's breaking potential.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Skarmory**: Mamoswine struggles to break through Skarmory, which can force it out to freely set Spikes, use Roost, or chip Mamoswine's replacement with Whirlwind if entry hazards are down. It also potentially threatens Mamoswine with Body Press. Skarmory does need to be careful if it is significantly chipped, as Mamoswine could potentially KO it with two Icicle Crashes, and it dislikes Knock Off.

**Rotom-H and Rotom-W**: Both Rotom-W and Rotom-H are immune to Earthquake and resist Ice, making it difficult for Mamoswine to break through them. Additionally, both of these Pokemon can typically force Mamoswine out with STAB attacks or status moves, though they need to be wary of Knock Off on the switch.

**Faster Pokemon and Priority Users**: UU has many threats like Keldeo, Gyarados, and Lycanroc-D that are faster than Mamoswine and threaten to KO it with super effective attacks. Mamoswine is also weak to multiple priority attacks, allowing Choice Band Scizor to OHKO it with Bullet Punch and other priority users like Azumarill and Conkeldurr to KO it after minimal chip.

**Residual Damage**: Since Mamoswine typically needs Life Orb to be effective, it will get worn down quickly, especially if it has to switch into Stealth Rock or Spikes.

[OVERVIEW]

- Mamoswine is a great breaker in UU due to its offensive typing and access to Knock Off, allowing it to muscle through common walls like Tangrowth and Chansey.
- Ice Shard also gives it a priority option to OHKO Salamence and Zygarde-10%, as well significantly damage Pokemon like Latias and Thundurus.
- Oblivious prevents Mamoswine from being hindered by Intimidate users like Salamence.
- Mamoswine has low defenses, and is easily KO'd by unresisted attacks. might want to give some examples here, eg. Latias's LO Draco Meteor. Honestly Mamoswine's HP actually makes it not *super* frail in the slightest, there's not much that actually can easily KO it from full unresisted, nidoqueen for instance can't with earth power. the point is more that low defenses + meh defensive typing + meh speed = needs support to actually get opportunities.
- Without Thick Fat, it has virtually no defensive utility outside of switching in to Electric attacks. Something worth pointing out is that its a ground type thats can't check zeraora (very well), cc ohkos u after rocks guranteed while ice shard only does like 38%. You might want to compare it to Nidoqueen for instance when you bring this up, which also offers a ground type wallbreaker with some more defensive utility.
- Ice / Ground typing leaves it weak to many common threats like Terrakion, as well as priority attacks from Crawdaun, make this Azu instead Scizor, and Conkeldurr.
- Mamoswine is also quite slow, and it has no chance to outspeed common threats like Jirachi, Lycanroc-D, and Victini. You should probably link this + the no defensive utility part into commenting that it tends to rely on finding opportunities versus slower Pokemon like Nidoqueen and Amoonguss, and often needs good pivoting support.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
- Ice Shard will OHKO Offensive Salamence and Zygarde-10%, as well as deal massive damage to many threats weak to Ice like Latias, Zarude, and Thundurus.
- Icicle Crash will OHKO most Pokemon weak to Ice like Tapu Bulu, and can also KO a chipped Amoonguss. It can also deal substantial damage to Gyarados and Celesteela.
- Knock Off is used for utility to punish a switch-in and remove its item. It can also be used to remove Chansey's Eviolite, allowing Mamoswine to break past it easily afterwards. Slowking's boots too, guess you could mention steelas lefties too. The most important facet of Knock Off that you haven't touched though is rotom-w and rotom-h, which you should absolutely bring up.
- Mamoswine can also be used as Stealth Rock setter, as Oblivious blocks Taunt what taunt users would this be helpful versus that would try to stop it setting rocks up? give examples if you can actually think of any otherwise taunt's probably not the most sensible mention to bring up. given rocks isn't even common on mamo i genuinely think no taunt user like mew is going to try this unless ur rocks have already been removed once and revealed, and other stuff like kommo-o / krook aren't going to want to try and risk taking an ice shard / crash to try this. and allows it to set up Stealth Rock with ease. Using this over Knock Off or Icicle Crash still allows Mamoswine to retain most of its coverage, but Mamoswine's breaking potential is severely limited by removing any of its four main moves and there are typically other Stealth Rock setters to do this job instead. It's worth noting that mamoswines job is typically to wallbreak, by running SR on it you are basically wasting the actual opportunities you get with the mon by not attacking when you get opportunities, and its not even got a great matchup versus some removers like washtom and heattom either.
- Life Orb is preferred as it maximizes Mamoswine's damage and allows it to safely 2HKO almost anything in the tier, including Celesteela and Chansey.
- Adamant maximizes Mamoswine's damage, as Jolly does not outspeed anything noteworthy other than an unboosted Galarian Moltres, Adamant Gyarados, and uncommon +Speed Pokemon like Jolly Tapu Bulu and Timid Volcanion. rephrase this to explain why you might want to run Jolly, eg. for timid volc and offensive goltres.

Paragraph 2
- Since Mamoswine is a premier physical wallbreaker, teaming it up with a special wallbreaker like Thundurus-T or Alakazam will optimize the ability to break through any team structure. This reads a bit weirdly, there's also really no specific guarantee that running physical breaker + special breaker will necessarily break through a team structure at all as long as there's answers to both of them. If you are going to talk about special wallbreakers pairing with it, i'd rather you focused on how they can help mamoswine, ie. dealing with stuff like washtom, rotom-heat, and skarmory.
- As Mamoswine breaks down the enemy team early on, a cleaner like Azumarill or Gyarados can help finish it off for a late game sweep. hard to tell if you are referring to bd azu here so if you meant cb i'd make it more clear, if you meant bd this honestly doens't rly fit on the same teams as mamo.
- Though Mamoswine can set up Stealth Rock, having another teammate like Mew set up hazards allows Mamoswine to focus on breaking through teams with added chip damage from hazards. There's definitely other examples you can give here too instead of just talking about mew, for instance kommo-o. Worth mentioning anything that SR can help you achieve 2HKO wise that you don't otherwise, or otherwise just comment on some stuff it lets you pressure better like skarm / wash / heattom.
- Mamoswine cannot break through Skarmory at all, and needs support to help remove Skarmory from play. Magnezone helps to get this job done, and also provides additional special breaking power. Having a pivot like Scizor or Jirachi can help bring Magnezone into Skarmory to take it down. Just bring this up as another special mon when you talk about stuff that pressures skarm / wash etc above, as something that can remove skarmory.
- Mamoswine is vulnerable to priority moves from Scizor, Conkeldurr, Crawdaunt, and Azumarill. A teammate like Amoonguss helps sponge most of these hits on a switch, and can threaten Crawdauntt and Azumarill with Giga Drain, and Scizor with Spore. Amoonguss also helps against Rotom-W, which Mamoswine cannot do much to other than Knock Off its item. Talk about it also checking zeraora here.
- Since Mamoswine is slow, it will need a teammate like Zeraora, Latias, or Lycanroc-D to give much needed Speed control this isn't actually an acceptable term in analyses because it means stuff like Tailwind and help deal with fast threats like Keldeo, Terrakion, and Victini.

Something you are missing here is talking about pivots to actually get Mamoswine into play, for instance zeraora and washtom bringing it in on grass types, or lati for the latter.

You also don't really talk about pairing mamoswine with checks to zeraora, thanks to its very poor mu vs it as a ground type.

=============

Choice Scarf should be at the top of these OOs, and is honestly the only real viable option here. It's ability to actually pressure stuff like Zeraora while being faster than stuff like terrak + latias is cool and can fit on some specific teams.
- A Choice Band set allows Mamoswine to maximize its damage and potentially OHKO Thundurus and defensive Salamence with Ice Shard. While this is a nice perk, these will rarely stay in against Mamoswine anyways, and you will often be forced out on a switch while locked in to a singl move. The extra damage on stuff like amoong / tangrowth is probably part of the reason to run this too. Personally i think this should be deleted from OOs as it just makes mamo unecessarily prediction reliant for not much extra power and much easier to play around because of it, eg. slowking can easily pivot in on an eq and even though its always going to be 2hkoed by band it just pivots out to a ground resist/immune. If you think this set should stay in the OOs i'll let you make that decision and have other QC potentially remove if they agree, but move it below freeze dry.
- A true suicide lead set with Stealth Rock, Focus Sash, Endeavor, and Ice Shard allows you to set up hazards and then proceed to take down one Pokemon with the combination of Endeavor plus Ice Shard. While this may seem appealing, it wastes Mamoswine's potential as a true wallbreaker since it will typically be KO'd very early. Really rather not recommend this ladder mistake set honestly, its just not worth running especially in a generation where Stealth Rock aren't even that immediately great because of boots, and as you say just totally wastes mamo. Stuff like krook is always going to be a better choice at doing this sort of sash taunt rocks stuff.
- Freeze-dry is an option to help deal with Quagsire and Gastrodon, as it will OHKO Quagsire and nearly OHKO Gastrodon with Life Orb. The utility offered by Knock Off is generally better for most situations though, and Mamoswine can already nearly 2HKO both of these Pokemon with Earthquake. It also pressures washtom which is nice. But yes you lose the ability to rly cripple a lot of ur better checks if you don't run knock off, worth specifically commenting on rotom-h here as something u lose out on totally.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Skarmory**: Skarmory walls any iteration of Mamoswine and can freely set up multiple layers of Spikes and Roost while it is out. It also threatens Mamoswine with Body Press, and can Whirlwind out switches with hazards laid down when you try to switch out.

up to you where you specifically try to fit this, but washtom and rotom-heat really need to be included somewhere in this section. Putting it in the faster pokemon doesn't really do them justice as also great defensive checks to it.

**Faster Pokemon**: UU has many threats like Keldeo, Terrakion, Lycanroc, and Rotom-W that are faster than Mamoswine and threaten to KO it with Super Effective coverage. Rotom-W is especially problematic since it resists Ice, is immune to Ground, and can burn Mamoswine with Will-o-Wisp if it does not outright KO it with Hydro Pump.

**Priority Users**: Mamoswine is weak to multiple priority attacks, including Aqua Jet, Bullet Punch, and Mach Punch. Scizor can OHKO Mamoswine with Choice Band or Life Orb, and Crawdaunt, Azumarill, and Conkeldurr can KO it with priority after minimal chip damage.

**Entry Hazards**: Since Mamoswine is typically required to hold a Life Orb, it will take standard damage from Stealth Rock and Spikes. The hazard damage combined with Life Orb damage wears down Mamoswine very quickly, and it will usually be pushed out of the game early if hazards remain up against it. maybe rephrase this point to be on "chip damage" instead, and talk about both life orb chip and hazard chip.

Another Ground-type Pokemon like Nidoqueen offers better defensive utility and is able to check Zeraora much more easily. If you're going to compare them I'd comment on it fulfilling the same role as a wallbreaker
- Ice / Ground typing leaves it weak to many common threats like Terrakion, as well as priority attacks from Azumarill, Scizor, and Conkeldurr.
- Mamoswine is also quite slow, and it has no chance to outspeed common threats like Jirachi, Lycanroc-D, and Victini. swap the abilities. Oblivious is fine but the intimidate users are all forced out by Mamoswine. Thick Fat lets you take a V-create from Victini, lets you take advantage of choice-locked Kyurem better, lets you take a hit from Rotom-H. I'd say these are more practical uses in the current metagame
[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
- Ice Shard will OHKO Offensive Salamence and Zygarde-10%, as well as deal massive damage to many threats weak to Ice like Galarian Moltres, Zarude, and Thundurus.
It can also be used to remove Chansey's Eviolite, Celesteela's Leftovers, and Slowking's Heavy Duty Boots, allowing Mamoswine or another teammate to break past these more easily later. Knock Off also removes Leftovers and Heavy Duty Boots from Rotom-W and Rotom-H, which are two Pokemon that Mamoswine otherwise could not effectively damage at all. Just list the Pokemon and not the items each one of them uses. Because the items can vary especially when accounting for meta changes. Also idk if I'd consider Chansey the best example, just use Skarmory instead

- Mamoswine can also be used as Stealth Rock setter, as Oblivious prevents Taunt users like Grimmsnarl from using it, allowing Mamoswine to set up Stealth Rock with ease. Using this over Knock Off or Icicle Crash still allows Mamoswine to retain most of its coverage, but Mamoswine's breaking potential is severely limited by removing any of its four main moves and there are typically other Stealth Rock setters to do this job instead. Since Mamoswine's job is to wallbreak, using up a turn to set up Stealth Rock wastes an opportunity to attack and break. Additionally, Mamoswine has a poor matchup against some common hazard clearers like Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Way too much written on this. Just keep it to being an option over Knock Off if it absolutely can't be fit anywhere else, as it requires the moveslots to be an efficient wallbreaker.

- Thick Fat is an option to offer better defensive utility against Kyurem, but there are not many other matchups where this is beneficial, as Pokemon like Victini will OHKO Mamoswine with V-Create with or without Thick Fat. As such, Oblivious is the better option as it blocks Intimidate.
Swap the Oblivious and Thick Fat mentions to match ability order change. Also, you do live V-create as long as it isn't CB boosted.

- Life Orb is preferred as it maximizes Mamoswine's damage and allows it to safely 2HKO almost anything in the tier, including Celesteela and Chansey.
- Jolly can be used to outspeed unboosted Galarian Moltres, as well as Timid Volcanion. It can also help outspeed less common foes like Adamant Gyarados and Jolly Tapu Bulu, but the power lost from not running Adamant significantly limits Mamoswine's breaking potential, as it would no longer be able to KO Amoonguss after Stealth Rock damage, nor would it be able to 2HKO other defensive walls like Chansey and Celesteela.

Paragraph 2
- As Mamoswine breaks down the enemy team early on, a cleaner like Gyarados or Nihilego can help finish it off for a late game sweep.
- Though Mamoswine can set up Stealth Rock, having another teammate like Mew or Kommo-o set up hazards allows Mamoswine to focus on breaking through teams. The added chip damage from hazards allows Mamoswine to cleanly OHKO Amoonguss and Assault Vest Tangrowth, as well as 2HKO defensive Celesteela.
- A pivot like Zeraora or Rotom-W can help lure in grass types like Tapu Bulu and Amoonguss and then pivot to Mamoswine for a more favorable matchup.
- Teaming Mamoswine up with a special wallbreaker like Thundurus-T, Keldeo, or Alakazam will help the team break past Pokemon like Skarmory, Rotom-H, and Rotom-W, all of which Mamoswine struggles mightily against. Skarmory in particular totally walls Mamoswine and a teammate like Magnezone can help remove it from play entirely. You aren't completely walled after minimal chip its in range of two Icicle crashes after rocks

Amoonguss also helps against Zeraora and Rotom-W, which Mamoswine usually cannot stay in against as they both threaten it with Super Effective attacks.
- Since Mamoswine is slow, it will need a teammate like Zeraora or Lycanroc-D to help deal with fast threats like Keldeo, Terrakion, and Victini.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

- Freeze-Dry is an option to help deal with Quagsire and Gastrodon, as it will OHKO Quagsire and nearly OHKO Gastrodon with Life Orb, as well as better pressure Rotom-W. The utility offered by Knock Off is generally better for most situations though, as it does nearly the same amount of damage as Freeze-Dry to Rotom-W, and Mamoswine can already nearly 2HKO Gastrodon and Quagsire with Earthquake.
- A Choice Scarf set with a Timid :blobglare: nature allows Mamoswine to outspeed its typical fast checks like Zeraora, Terrakion, and Lycanroc-D. Since Mamoswine needs to run Timid to outspeed these, it will lose significant breaking potential. As such, this set only works well as a way to pressure these specific types of threats, and Mamoswine can no longer effectively break through walls like Amoonguss and Chansey.
- A Choice Band set allows Mamoswine to maximize its damage and potentially OHKO Thundurus and defensive Salamence with Ice Shard. Choice Band also provides much needed extra damage output on Amoonguss and Tangrowth, as well as big damage from Ice Shard to anything that does not resist it. While this is a nice perk, these Pokemon will rarely stay in against Mamoswine anyways, and you will often be forced out on a switch while locked in to a single move.

Move the banded mention above scarf.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Skarmory**: Skarmory walls any iteration of Mamoswine Reword and say Mamo struggles to break through Skarmory, rather than use the word walls and can freely set up multiple layers of Spikes and Roost while it is out. It also threatens Mamoswine with Body Press, and can Whirlwind out switches with hazards laid down when you try to switch out.

**Rotom-H and Rotom-W**: Both Rotom-W and Rotom-H are immune to Earthquake and resist Ice, making it difficult for Mamoswine to break through them. Additionally, both of these Pokemon can KO Mamoswine with Super Effective attacks and typically force it out. Other than using Knock Off, there is not much else Mamoswine can do to either of these.

**Faster Pokemon**: UU has many threats like Keldeo, Terrakion, and Lycanroc that are faster than Mamoswine and threaten to KO it with Super Effective coverage. Even Electric-types like Zeraora and Thundurus-T will often have the matchup advantage over Mamoswine, as they are faster and can OHKO Mamoswine with Close Combat or Grass Knot.

**Chip Residual Damage**: Since Mamoswine is typically required to hold a Life Orb, it will get worn down after every attack it makes. Additionally, if Stealth Rock or Spikes are up, switching in Mamoswine will deal even further chip damage to it. The hazard damage combined with Life Orb damage wears down Mamoswine very quickly, and it will usually be pushed out of the game early if hazards remain up and it wastes its attacks too often.

[OVERVIEW]

Mamoswine is a great breaker in UU due to its offensive typing and access to Knock Off, allowing it to muscle through common walls like Tangrowth and Chansey. I'm not a huge fan of this first sentence. I'd rather just bring up its typing + great Attack making it a great breaker since Knock Off feels like more of an additional benefit than its defining factor. Bring that up in a separate sentence if you still feel the need to mention it here. Ice Shard also gives it a priority option to OHKO Salamence and Zygarde-10%, as well significantly damage Pokemon like Galarian Moltres and Thundurus I'd restructure this too since it frames KOing Zygarde-10% to be a lynchpin of Mamo's niche which obviously isn't accurate. OHKOing isn't important to bring up in this context, so just say that with Ice Shard it can threaten many faster threats and use the same Salamence/Moltres examples, but maybe swap Thundy out for like Alakazam. Oblivious prevents Mamoswine from being hindered by Intimidate users like Salamence. Imo this isn't significant enough to be brought up in overview. Mamoswine has low defenses, and is easily KO'd by Super Effective attacks like Scald from Keldeo. Without Thick Fat, it has virtually no defensive utility outside of switching in to Electric attacks. However, it cannot properly check certain Electric-type threats like Zeraora very well as it threatens to KO Mamoswine with Close Combat after minimal chip damage. Another Ground-type wallbreaker like Nidoqueen offers better defensive utility and is able to check Zeraora much more easily. Ice / Ground typing leaves it weak to many common threats like Terrakion, as well as priority attacks from Azumarill, Scizor, and Conkeldurr. Mamoswine is also quite slow, and it has no chance to outspeed common threats like Jirachi, Lycanroc-D, and Victini. This will often relegate it to finding opportunities against slower Pokemon like Nidoqueen and Amoonguss, and will need ample support to get consistent opportunities to break elsewhere.

I'd like to see you try condensing some of your information here by merging more it into one or two sentences. The sentences I've bolded in particular I think can all be condensed into one since they virtually present the same info. Mamoswine's frailty and poor defensive typing can be merged into one sentence since with that you can convey the same information. THEN you can bring up how this is compounded by its Speed and an additional priority weakness. That would make this section a lot less clunky.

[SET COMMENTS]

Ice Shard will OHKO Offensive Salamence and Zygarde-10%, as well as deal massive damage to many threats weak to Ice like Galarian Moltres, Zarude, and Thundurus. Again I don't think this is the best way of phrasing the use of Ice Shard. Instead of specifically saying that it OHKOs your aforementioned threats, mention that it's a powerful priority attack that can threaten a lot of faster foes. The same examples you already have listed work fine Icicle Crash will OHKO most Pokemon weak to Ice like Tapu Bulu, and can also KO a chipped Amoonguss. It can also deal substantial damage to Gyarados and Celesteela. Don't think this sentence is necessary Knock Off is used for utility to punish a switch-in and remove its item. Removing items from Skarmory, Celesteela, and Slowking allow Mamoswine or another teammate to break past these more easily later. Knock Off also helps remove items from Rotom-W and Rotom-H, which are two Pokemon that Mamoswine otherwise could not effectively damage at all. I have this bolded because seriously all of it can be condensed into one sentence. Saying that Knock Off allows it to hamper switch-ins and bringing those same switch-ins up in a sentence presents the same information without being nearly as wordy. It doesn't make sense to give Rotom forms a separate mention from other Mamoswine checks. Thick Fat offers good defensive utility against Kyurem and better protection against Rotom-H, and also allows Mamoswine to withstand a V-Create from Victini as long as it is not equipped with a Choice Band. Oblivious is also an option, as it blocks Intimidate to allow Mamoswine to retain its breaking potential against Pokemon like Salamence and Incineroar. Life Orb is preferred as it maximizes Mamoswine's damage and allows it to safely 2HKO almost anything in the tier, including Celesteela and Chansey. Jolly can be used to outspeed unboosted Galarian Moltres, as well as Timid Volcanion. It can also help outspeed less common foes like Adamant Gyarados and Jolly Tapu Bulu, remove this and just make this one sentencebut the power lost from not running Adamant significantly limits Mamoswine's breaking potential, as it would no longer be able to KO Amoonguss after Stealth Rock damage, nor would it be able to 2HKO other defensive walls like Chansey and Celesteela. I don't think this is necessary info to keep. The general statement that it cuts its power back works fine

As Mamoswine breaks down the enemy team early on, a cleaner like Gyarados or Nihilego can help finish it off for a late game sweep. A hazard setter like Mew or Kommo-o allows Mamoswine break through teams more easily, as the added chip damage from hazards allows Mamoswine to cleanly OHKO Amoonguss and Assault Vest Tangrowth, as well as 2HKO defensive Celesteela this is an instance where a more general statement can be applied and it'll be more effective in communicating your point. Just say that it will more easily allow Mamoswine to break past opposing teams. A pivot like Zeraora or Rotom-W can help lure in grass types like Tapu Bulu and Amoonguss and then pivot to Mamoswine for a more favorable matchup. Teaming Mamoswine up with a special wallbreaker like Thundurus-T, Keldeo, or Alakazam will help the team break past Pokemon like Skarmory, Rotom-H, and Rotom-W, all of which Mamoswine struggles mightily considering it can break past these mons on its own at times I don't think this word is necessary to include against. Skarmory in particular is difficult for Mamoswine to break through, and a teammate like Magnezone can help remove it from play entirely. Mamoswine is vulnerable to priority moves from Scizor, Conkeldurr, Crawdaunt, and Azumarill. A teammate like Amoonguss helps sponge most of these hits on a switch, and can threaten Crawdauntt and Azumarill with Giga Drain, and Scizor with Spore. Amoonguss also helps against Zeraora and Rotom-W, which Mamoswine usually cannot stay in against as they both threaten it with Super Effective attacks. Since Mamoswine is slow, it will need a teammate like Zeraora use Alakazam as your example here considering you've already brought Zeraora up or Lycanroc-D to help deal with fast threats like Keldeo, Terrakion, and Victini.

Mamoswine can be used as Stealth Rock setter, as Oblivious prevents Taunt users like Grimmsnarl from using it, but Mamoswine's breaking potential is severely limited by removing any of its four main moves. There are typically other Stealth Rock setters, such as Terrakion or Kommo-o, that can do this job better, as Mamoswine has a poor matchup against some common hazard clearers like Rotom-W and Rotom-H. unnecessary info considering the main justification not to run rocks has already been specified Freeze-Dry is an option to help deal with Quagsire and Gastrodon, as it will OHKO Quagsire and nearly OHKO Gastrodon with Life Orb, as well as better pressure Rotom-W. The utility offered by Knock Off is generally better for most situations though, as it does nearly the same amount of damage as Freeze-Dry to Rotom-W, and Mamoswine can already nearly 2HKO Gastrodon and Quagsire with Earthquake. A Choice Band set allows Mamoswine to maximize its damage and potentially OHKO Thundurus and defensive Salamence with Ice Shard. Choice Band also provides much needed extra damage output on Amoonguss and Tangrowth, as well as big damage from Ice Shard to anything that does not resist it. While this is a nice perk, these Pokemon will rarely stay in against Mamoswine anyways, and you will often be forced out on a switch while locked in to a single move. qc team has agreed this is too niche for a mention here A Choice Scarf set with a Jolly nature unnecessary info allows Mamoswine to outspeed its typical fast checks like Zeraora, Terrakion, and Lycanroc-D. Since Mamoswine needs to run Jolly to outspeed these, it will lose significant breaking potential. As such, this set only works well as a way to pressure these specific types of threats, and Mamoswine can no longer effectively break through walls like Amoonguss and Chansey. Again, this is add-on information that isn't too necessary when the main reason the set can be suboptimal is already outlined well by saying that it loses breaking potential.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Skarmory**: Mamoswine struggles mightily to break through Skarmory, and it can freely set up multiple layers of Spikes and Roost while it is out. It also threatens Mamoswine with Body Press, and can Whirlwind out switches with hazards laid down when you try to switch out. I'd note here that Skarmory should be careful about switching in if it isn't healthy, considering Icicle Crash still does a chunk of damage and can threaten to flinch it.

**Rotom-H and Rotom-W**: Both Rotom-W and Rotom-H are immune to Earthquake and resist Ice, making it difficult for Mamoswine to break through them. Additionally, both of these Pokemon can KO Mamoswine with Super Effective attacks and typically force it out With Thick Fat, Rotom-H isn't dealing super effective damage, so just say that they can power through it with their STAB moves or threaten status. Other than using Knock Off, there is not much else Mamoswine can do to either of these. Instead of saying this, I'd frame Knock Off as actually being something they should watch out for on the switch considering it can complicate their ability to consistently come in on Mamoswine.

**Faster Pokemon and Priority Users**: UU has many threats like Keldeo, Terrakion, and Lycanroc that are faster than Mamoswine and threaten to KO it with Super Effective coverage. Even Electric-types like Zeraora and Thundurus-T will often have the matchup advantage over Mamoswine, as they are faster and can OHKO Mamoswine with Close Combat or Grass Knot. Thundy-T risks a KO from full from Ice Shard and Zera isn't a particularly notable example on its own, so I'd just cut this sentence.

Merge this with the above section considering neither really have enough substance on their own right now. Also this reads super weirdly. Try condensing it into just one sentence because mentioning priority attacks and their users in separate sentences is a bit off.

**Residual Damage**: Since Mamoswine is typically required to hold a Life Orb, it will get worn down after every attack it makes. You frequently provide summary-like sentences after your general information is written, though oftentimes they're often just fluff and the main ideas have already been covered. This is an example among a lot of the other things I've crossed out, so just keep that in mind for future reference.

[OVERVIEW]

Mamoswine is a great breaker in UU due to its offensive typing that allows it to muscle through common walls like Tangrowth and Chansey. Ice Shard also gives it a priority option to threaten many faster threats like Alakazam, Salamence, and Galarian Moltres. A sentence on Knock Off (mention that it can be useful for chipping switch-ins like Rotom formes, Skarmory) should probably be included here Mamoswine has low defenses and bad defensive typing, making it easy prey for common threats like Keldeo and Terrakion. Without Thick Fat, it has virtually no defensive utility outside of switching in to Electric attacks, and even still cannot always check certain Electric-type threats like Zeraora as it can threaten to KO Mamoswine with Close Combat after minimal chip damage. Another Ground-type wallbreaker like Nidoqueen offers better defensive utility and is able to check Zeraora much more easily. Mamoswine is also quite slow, and it has no chance to outspeed common threats like Jirachi, Lycanroc-D, and Victini. It is also weak to common priority attack users like Azumarill and Scizor. This will often relegate it to finding opportunities against slower Pokemon without priority movese like Nidoqueen and Amoonguss, and will need ample support to get consistent opportunities to break elsewhere. This sentence is fluff/redundant info for the most part and can be removed.

Ice Shard can threaten many faster threats like Galarian Moltres, Alakazam, and Zarude, and can also OHKO offensive Salamence and Zygarde-10%. Knock Off is used for utility to punish a switch-in such as Rotom-H, Rotom-W, or Skarmory and remove its item, allowing Mamoswine or another teammate to break past these more easily later. While Skarmory needs to be careful of taking Icicle Crash damage on a switch, Mamoswine will need to get a flinch the following turn to break past it. Still not a huge fan of the way this last sentence is phrased. I think the approach should be more to highlight what Skarmory needs to look out for as it tries to check Mamoswine, and not really what Mamoswine itself will require to break past it. Saying something along the lines of "it should be wary of switching into Icicle Crash if it's low on health and can be worn down with Knock Off" (in your own words ofc) would probably be better.

Since Mamoswine is slow, it will need a teammate like Alakazam or Lycanroc-D to help deal with fast threats like Keldeo, Lycannroc Lycanroc-D, and Victini.

Other Options
=============

Mamoswine can be used as a Stealth Rock setter, as Oblivious prevents blocks Taunt from users like Grimmsnarl from blocking Stealth Rock, but removing any of Mamoswine's four main moves severely limits its wallbreaking potential.

===================

**Skarmory**: Mamoswine struggles to break through Skarmory, which can force it out to freely set spikes Spikes, use Roost, or chip Mamoswine's replacement with Whirlwind if entry hazards are down.
