Mega Aerodactyl carves a niche for itself thanks to its blistering Speed tier and solid offensive typing. It can revenge kill threats like Tapu Koko, Weavile, Mega Lopunny, and Greninja. It also serves as a solid offensive check to the likes of Victini, Volcarona, Mega Charizard Y, and Heatran. While it performs decently well in these roles, it struggles against bulky Water- and Steel-types like Slowbro, Tapu Fini, and Mega Scizor. Taunt allows Mega Aerodactyl to beat Pokemon like Gliscor and Corviknight by denying them recovery, and Earthquake allows it to beat Fire-types like Heatran and Victini.

Ferrothorn is a great partner for Mega Aerodactyl, as it checks Rotom-W and Tapu Koko and can pivot in on common revenge killers like Ash-Greninja, Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, and Mega Scizor. Mega Aerodactyl checks Fire-types for Ferrothorn like Victini and Volcarona. Spikes from Ferrothorn is also useful in wearing down the opposition, letting Mega Aerodactyl clean in certain situations. Ferrothorn also can hit any opposing Choice Scarf users with Knock Off, such as Tapu Lele and Kartana, for Mega Aerodactyl to outspeed and revenge kill them. Weavile can remove threats to Mega Aerodactyl like Zapdos and Slowbro and can also Pursuit trap Mega Latias, which Mega Aerodactyl struggles to OHKO. In turn, Mega Aerodactyl revenge killing Mega Loppuny helps Weavile and other fast but frail threats. Tapu Koko can wear down Landorus-T and break through bulky Water-types like Tapu Fini and the aforementioned Slowbro, as well as safely bringing in Mega Aerodactyl through U-turn or Volt Switch, as it is too frail to come in on it's own. Since Mega Aerodactyl struggles to beat Flying-types like Zapdos and Pelipper without Stone Edge, Heatran and Tapu Koko can be used alongside it to help in that regard. Melmetal is a good partner for Mega Aerodactyl, in that it appreciates Mega Aerodactyl soft checking Fire-types.

Stone Edge over Taunt allows Mega Aerodactyl to outright remove Mega Charizard Y, has a chance to OHKO Kyurem, and can OHKO Zapdos. The utility that Taunt provides in denying recovery, entry hazards, and status is too good to pass up, however. Dragon Dance is an option, letting Mega Aerodactyl outspeed revenge killers like Choice Scarf Kartana and OHKO bulkier Pokemon like Mega Latias and Clefable. However, Mega Aerodactyl is too frail to set up reliably and cannot afford to drop Earthquake, Roost ,or Taunt.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Water-types like Rotom-W, Tapu Fini, and Slowbro are big threats to Mega Aerodactyl. While Taunt can stop Slowbro from recovering, Slowbro can stay in and debilitate it with a Scald burn.

**Priority Moves**: Priority moves, such as Weavile's Ice Shard, Ash-Greninja's Water Shuriken, and Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch, are all problematic to Mega Aerodactyl. Mega Scizor in particular is a massive roadblock for Mega Aerodactyl, taking Dual Wingbeat and Earthquake with ease and threatening to deal heavy damage with Bullet Punch. Mega Medicham and Mega Mawile can make use of Bullet Punch and Sucker Punch, respectively, to deal huge damage. However, both fail to OHKO and risk being hit by Dual Wingbeat or Earthquake.

Mega-Aerodactyl carves a niche for itself thanks to its blistering Speed tier, really good offensive typing and great attack stat. With Mega- Aerodactyl's insane speed, it can outspeed speedsters such as Tapu Koko, Weavile, Mega Lopunny and Greninja. Additionally, Mega-Aerodactyl is able to check many of the tier's Fire-Types like Heatran, Victini, Volcarona and Mega-Charizard-Y. However, Mega Aerodactyl greatly struggles against bulky Water types like Slowbro, Rotom Wash and Tapu Fini. Merge the sentence about fat Water-types and Sterl-types As well as Steel types such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor and Corviknight. Corviknight is beat through Taunt Mega Aerodactyl is also very weak to common priority moves, such as Greninja-Ash's Water Shuriken, Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch, and Weavile's Ice Shard. This can be mentioned in C&C There are two choices you could use for Mega-Aerodactyl, Taunt and Stone Edge. Stone Edge allows Mega-Aerodactyl to remove Mega-Charizard-Y completely, has a chance to OHKO Kyurem, and can OHKO Rain Sweeper Zapdos. While move edge to OO Taunt can stop hazard setters from putting down hazards, can stop walls like Clefable or Chansey from using Thunder Wave, Toxic or Soft-Boiled. Change the healing examples to Gliscor and Corviknight, forcing them out is a big part of its nicheMega-Aerodactyl's EV Spread is rather self-exclamatory, it uses Max Speed and Jolly to outpace Tapu Koko and uses Max Attack for maximum offensive potential. This is filler

A great partner that would go with Mega-Aerodactyl would be Ferrothorn. Ferrothorn with it's Grass-Steel typing can absorb Volt Switches attacks from Rotom-Wash and Tapu Koko. Ferrothorn can also set up hazards and Leech Seed, so Mega Aerodactyl can pick up the easy revenge kill. Ferrothorn also has the ability to Knock off any opposing Choice Scarfers, such as Tapu Lele and Protean Greninja, for Mega-Aerodactyl to outspeed and come in for the revenge kill. Mega-Aerodactyl also checks fire types for Ferrothorn in the tier such as Heatran and Victini. Another amazing partner for Mega-Aerodactyl would be Weavile. Weavile with its outstanding wall-breaking capabilities can remove threats to Mega-Aerodactyl such as Zapdos and Slowbro. Weavile can also Pursuit trap Mega Latias, which Mega-Aerodactyl also struggles with. Mega-Aerodactyl really struggles with bulky Water Types, such as Tapu Fini, Rotom-Wash and Slowbro. However, these can be handled by Ferrothorn and Tapu Koko, which can ultimately force switch them out, so Mega Aerodactyl can chip them down when they switch back in. Mega- Aerodactyl also struggles with Flying types without Stone Edge. Flying types such as Zapdos, Landorus-Therian, Gliscor and Corviknight and Skarmory as mentioned before, so Weavile Heatran and Tapu Koko could force-switch them out too. Add Pokemon that appreciate Mega Lopunny being revenge killed, as well as Pokemon that appreciate MAero being a soft fire check and Gliscor beater (Melmetal, Landorus-T and Weavile come to mind).

Add Stone Edge Another Mega-Aerodactyl set can be used with Dragon Dance. Dragon Dance is useful for Mega-Aerodactyl because it fixes Mega-Aerodactyl's problem of being too weak to OHKO mons like Zapdos and other threats. However, Mega-Aerodactyl is too frail to be able to set up any Dragon Dances and would much prefer the coverage from cannot drop Earthquake, Roost or Taunt.

Checks and Counters
===================

Slowbro is probably a really big threat to Mega-Aerodactyl, due to it's bulk and its access to Regenerator. While Taunt can stop Slowbro from recovering, Slowbro tends to fish for a scald burn, which hugely cripples Mega-Aerodactyl. Another thing is, Mega-Aerodactyl can't really do much back because of how bulky Slowbro is. Another big threat would probably be Mega-Scizor. Mega-Scizor is also extremely bulky like Slowbro. Mega-Scizor can do massive damage to Mega-Aerodactyl with Bullet Punch. However, Taunt from Mega-Aerodactyl can stop Mega-Scizor from setting up with Swords Dance and using Roost. Unfortunately, Mega Scizor has a guaranteed 2HKO on Mega-Aerodactyl with Bullet Punch, so it's not really helpful for it. Format this like a proper C&C section. See other onsite analyses for example (with Bolded Threat: MAsro loses to x bc of this). Also add priority moves and change Slowbro to bilky Waters and Scizor to Steels. Add Priority as well.

would like to take another look before i give the full stamp, looks good so far though

Why is this not 3 attacks roosts? What I like about Mega Aerodactyl is having the ability to use its speed in emergency situations. Ice Fang lets it check the Grounds (its a offensive counter to SD Gliscor which is cool), Fire Fang lets it check Kartana, even pursuit can be used to force damage on Heatran and kill Victini. Stone Edge kills Zapdos and chunks Rotom-W the list goes on.

Of course Taunt is useful against Bulky teams but those match ups are done better by its teammates.

Also it should be Pressure because the only berry on the top of my head thats used in this tier consistently is Colbur and you need to Mega to make its pursuit do damage anyway.

“With Mega Aerodactyl's insane Speed tier, it can outspeed fast revenge kill threats like Tapu Koko, Weavile, Mega Lopunny, and Greninja.”

Talk about Earthquake and Taunt at the end of the first paragraph. The former lets you actually beat Fire-types, and the latter lets you beat Corviknight and Gliscor.

“Since Mega Aerodactyl struggles to beat Flying-types without Stone Edge, like Zapdos and Skarmory, Heatran and Tapu Koko also help in that regard.”

C&C format is still kinda messed up, again look at Checks & Counters of other ND analyses to get an idea of what the section looks like.

(not rly sure if gliscor loses to maero especially if its sd/tox, since it eats a hit and psn heal probs turns dwb into a 3hko)

However, Mega Aerodactyl is too frail to be able to set up Dragon Dance and would can not afford to drop Earthquake, Roost or Taunt.

(switched around stone edge and dd; mentioning edge first is more indictive to its viability rn. dd is quite bad atm, so mentioning edge first is more appropriate.)

Checks and Counters

While Taunt can stop Slowbro from recovering, it can stay in and wear it down with Scald burns, Slowbro tends to fish for a scald burn, which hugely cripples Mega Aerodactyl.

**Priority Moves**: Mega Aerodactyl struggles with priority moves because Mega Aerodactyl is unable to pick up the revenge kill when switched in. (i mean this is true but its mostly that they force it out) Priority moves, such as Weavile's Ice Shard, Ash Greninja's Water Shuriken and Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch, are all problematic to Mega Aerodactyl. Mega Scizor in particular is a massive roadblock for Mega Aerodactyl, taking Dual Wingbeat and Earthquake with ease and threatening to deal heavy damage with Bullet Punch. Mega Medicham and Mega Mawile can also make use of Bullet Punch and Sucker Punch, respectively, to deal huge damage. However, neither can OHKO and risk being hit by Dual Wingbeat or Earthquake.

**Mega Scizor**: While other Steel types struggle to switch into Mega Aerodactyl's powerful Earthquake, Mega Scizor takes neutral damage, so it can easily tank a hit. Mega Scizor's overall bulk walls Mega Aerodactyl and Mega Scizor takes it out with a Technician boosted Bullet Punch.

(merged sciz w prio moves section but made sure to highlight it as a big problem for maero)

for future reference, i recommend checking out the spelling and grammar standards in case you're ever stuck on certain terms like "Ash-Greninja" or something of that nature.
