National Dex Monotype Mega Charizard X (Fire) [Done]

[Set]
name: Dragon Dance Sweeper (Fire)
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Flare Blitz
move 3: Outrage / Dragon Claw
move 4: Roost / Earthquake
item: Charizardite X
ability: Blaze
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Mega Charizard X is a great asset for Fire teams because Dragon Dance makes it a fearsome setup sweeper that threatens types such as Water and Dragon, that Fire naturally struggles against. It can outspeed Mega Aerodactyl, and Choice Scarf Hydregion after one and Mega Charizard X can outpace Sand Rush Excadrill in sand and Regieleki after two. Outrage can be used to hit other Dragon-types such as Hydreigon and Kyurem and Fire-resistant foes like Slowbro and Swampert however being locked into it and confused can be taken advantage of by Pokemon such as Azumarill. Dragon Claw is Mega Charizard X's more reliable but less powerful Dragon-type STAB move. Roost can be used to give Mega Charizard X longevity throughout the game and heal off Flare Blitz recoil, whereas Earthquake can be used to hit Heatran, Tyranitar, and Toxapex. 252 EVs in Attack and Speed alongside a Jolly Nature makes Mega Charizard X as powerful and as fast as possible, allowing Charizard to outspeed common threats like Excadrill and Hydreigon. Tough Claws makes Charizard's contact moves like Flare Blitz, Dragon Claw and Outrage do more damage. Charizardite X allows Charizard to mega evolve.

Torkoal can set up Stealth Rock and remove entry hazards from Mega Charizard X's side thanks to Rapid Spin, while fueling its Flare Blitz by setting up sun. Rotom-H can setup Light Screen and Reflect so Mega Charizard X can set up safely. Rotom-H can also remove Stealth Rock with Defog and bring Mega Charizard X in safely with Volt Switch. Cinderace as a teammate can wallbreak through diverse walls Mega Charizard X struggles against, such as Tyranitar and Toxapex, by virtue of its coverage moves in High Jump Kick and Zen Headbutt. Blacephalon can help Mega Charizard X by breaking through physical walls such as Hippowdon and Porygon2 with its Choice Specs set. Infernape's Fighting typing allows it to threaten the likes of Tyranitar, Heatran, and Porygon2, with the former two being hard for Mega Charizard X to beat without Earthquake. Choice Scarf Infernape and Choice Scarf Blacephalon can be used against huge threats like Choice Scarf Nihilego. Volcanion can be used to check Rock- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Rhyperior, and Water Absorb lets it beat Tapu Fini and Azumarill with Sludge Wave. Volcarona can form a sweeping core with Mega Charizard X by removing some of its checks like Mega Slowbro and Gastrodon. In return Mega Charizard X can take out Pokemon like Mantine and Blissey for Volcarona.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Thunder Punch can be used to hit Pelipper, Slowbro, and Tapu Fini super effectively while still hitting Toxapex hard, but Mega Charizard X prefers Earthquake's coverage against Tyranitar and Heatran or Roost's reliable recovery.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rock chips off a quarter of Mega Charizard X's health when it switches in, and half before it Mega Evolves, which limits the number of times it can switch in .

**Status**: Paralysis makes Mega Charizard X easily revenge killed whereas Toxic puts it on a timer.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls like Hippowdon and Swampert can easily take hits and use Whirlwind or Roar to phaze Mega Charizard X. Hippowdon and Swampertcan also threaten it with Earthquake.

**Bulky Water-types** - since Mega Charizard X cannot bypass bulky Water-types without a good number of boosts, and they can potentially wear it down with Toxic or Scald should it not have Roost. Some examples are Mega Slowbro, Sap Sipper Azumarill, and Tapu Fini.

**Revenge Killers**: Revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Terrakion and Latios can easily revenge kill Mega Charizard X even after a Dragon Dance.

- "...Dragon Dlaw can be used as a weaker but safer Dragon move." Correct the spelling and mention what makes Dragon Claw a safer move over Outrage. (No risk of confusion and not locked into the move for 2/3 turns, preventing certain pokemon from taking advantage of it)
- Add that Outrage is needed to break through certain defensive walls like Toxapex on Earthquake-less sets
- Rephrase the Roost mention and add that it gives Charizard more longevity throughout the game
- Make a mention about its ability tough claws and how it helps
- Add a sentence saying the mega stone allows it to mega evolve
- Rephrase the sentence about its speed and instead of "+1" change it to "After a Dragon Dance"
- Add that Blaze is preferred over Solar Power on its base form to prevent any unnecessary damage under sun prior to mega evolution

- Move the Torkoal mention to the beginning of paragraph 2. Add that Torkoal can remove entry hazards and that sun can help boost Charizard's fire type attacks
- Add that Rotom acts as a good pivot with access to Volt Switch and can form a greater pivot core with U-turn Victini and help bring in Charizard safely
- Add Volcarona as a good teammate and mention that they can eliminate each other's checks (Volcarona deals with Slowbro, Swampert etc while Charizard deals with Blissey, Garchomp, Dragonite etc)
- Rephrase the Blacephalon sentence and add more examples of threats that Blacephalon helps against, same with the Cinderace reference and rephrase that as well
- Give examples of Rock types that Infernape counters
- Give examples of Rock and Ground types that Volcanion helps against and add that it provides a Water immunity and can help against threats like Azumarill
- Add Heatran as a good teammate and mention that it provides a Rock neutrality and can provide stealth rock support
- Change every mention of 'Scarf [user]' to 'Choice Scarf [user]'

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options

- Add that Adamant Nature can be run on Charizard for the extra power, however, it fails to outspeed common threats like Excadrill and Hydreigon

Checks and Counters
===================
- In the "Stealth Rock" category, add that it limits the number of times Charizard can switch in if Stealth Rocks are up
- Add "Revenge Killers" as a category and give examples of revenge killers that can revenge kill Mega Charizard even after a Dragon Dance boost (Choice Scarf Terrakion/Latios/Latias)
- Add that Swampert and Hippowdon can threaten to KO Charizard with Earthquake as well
- 50 percent --> 50%, 25 percent --> 25%
- In the "Status" category, state that Paralysis halves its speed
- Remove Heatran and Toxapex as Checks and Counters as Earthquake sets can easily deal with them

Much better, there's a bunch of wrong spellings with Pokemon names, correct those. QC 1/2!

[SET COMMENTS]
Moveset Description
- In the start of the paragraph, make an introductory sentence that says how important Mega Charizard X is to Fire-type teams because of its typing (that grants it a Water immunity) and ability to sweep late-game;
- Capitalize each stat; "Dragon Dance can boost Attack and Speed of ..."
- Grass, Ice, and Steel-types such as Mega Venusaur, Galarian Darmanitan, and Aegislash;
- At the cost of some HP;
- Dragon Claw is slashed before Outrage on the set because its the more viable option, so you should describe it before Outrage. Say that Dragon Claw is Mega Charizard X's safer Dragon-type STAB move that nails opposing Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Dracovish hard;
- Mention Outrage's extra power allows it to hit neutral targets like Pelipper and Slowbro harder than Dragon Claw, a trait with enables it to wallbreak better; however, mention Outrage's drawbacks (being locked into it, confusion, can be taken advantage of by Pokemon such as Azumarill);
- Roost also heals off Flare Blitz recoil;
- Mention Earthquake hits key targets, and replace Nihilego (which outspeeds it and, if Zard's boosted, gets OHKOed by Dragon Claw, so no need to EQ it at all) with Tyranitar;
- Reword the "Jolly nature allows Charizard to outspeed Common threats like Excadrill and Hydreigon" to "252 EVs in Attack and Speed alongside a Jolly Nature makes Mega Charizard X as powerful and as fast as possible, allowing Charizard to outspeed common threats like Excadrill and Hydreigon";
- Replace Outrage with Dragon Claw as an example of move that Tough Claws boosts.

Good Teammates
- Replace all "Charizard" mentions with "Mega Charizard X";
- Fix the first sentence of the paragraph: "Torkoal can set up Stealth Rock and remove entry hazards from Mega Charizard X's side thanks to Rapid Spin, while fueling its Flare Blitz by setting up Sun";
- The sentences "All of Charizard's teammates benefit from +1 Charizard's Earthquake removes threats like Nihilego, and can deal with defensive Pokemom such as Toxapex, and other Electric types like Tapu koko. Removing Dragon-types like Hydregion, Garchomp is also beneficial for its teammates so they can use their Fire-type moves without worrying about Dragon types resesting it" are really secondary overall. Remove them;
- Mention Rotom-Heat "... can also remove Stealth Rock with Defog and bring Mega Charizard X safely with Volt Switch." Remove the Victini part as it's not its analysis;
- Add Cinderace as a teammate that can wallbreak through diverse walls Mega Charizard X struggles against, such as Tyranitar and Toxapex, by virtue of its coverage moves;
- "Blacephalon can be used to counter Eviolite Galarian Corsola, Runerigus and Alolan Marowak" is a rather vague statement. Reword it, saying Blacephalon can help Mega Charizard X by breaking through physical walls such as Hippowdon and Porygon2 with its Choice Specs set.
- Similarly, "Infernape can be used to counter Rock types like Alolan Golem, Tyranitar and Heatran if Charizard is not running Earthquake" is a bit barebones. Instead, say that Infernape's Fighting typing allows it to threaten the likes of Tyranitar, Heatran, and Porygon2, the former two which Mega Charizard X cannot easily beat without Earthquake.
- Mention Choice Scarf Infernape and Choice Scarf Blacephalon can remove a huge threat in Choice Scarf Nihilego for Mega Charizard X;
- Add Volcarona as a teammate that can form a sweeping core with Mega Charizard X by removing some of its checks like Mega Slowbro and Gastrodon. In return, say that Mega Charizard X can take out Pokemon like Mantine and Blissey for Volcarona;
- Volcanion doesn't necessarily "counter" Rock- and Ground-types; it checks them. Remove the Mega Steelix and Shuckle mentions as Fire can easily beat them, only mentioning Hippowdon and Rhyperior as examples;
- In the same Volcanion sentence, say that it particularly beats Azumarill and Tapu Fini for Mega Charizard X with Sludge Wave and Water Absorb;
- Add Heatran as a teammate that can switch into threatening Rock- and Fairy-type attacks for Mega Charizard X, while beating specific menaces to it such as Mega Diancie and Nihilego.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

- Remove the Scale Shot mention; it's not boosted by Tough Claws and it's very unreliable overall. Instead, just say Swords Dance can be used over Dragon Dance for Mega Charizard X to perform as a wallbreaker rather than a sweeper, but Fire prefers its sweeping capabilities because it already has plenty of wallbreakers to choose from;
- Add Thunder Punch as a mention to hit Pelipper, Slowbro, and Tapu Fini super effectively while retaining a hard hit against Toxapex, but mention it prefers Earthquake's coverage against Tyranitar and Heatran or Roost's reliable recovery.

Checks and Counters
===================

- Add **(bullet)** in each bullet. For example, **Stealth Rock**;
- In the "Physical Walls" bullet, mention the physical walls can also threaten to status Mega Charizard X;
- Add "Bulky Water-types" as a bullet, since Mega Charizard X cannot bypass them without a good number of boosts, and they can potentially wear it down with Toxic or Scald should it not have Roost. Some examples are Mega Slowbro, Sap Sipper Azumarill, and Tapu Fini;
- Choice Scarf Terrakion in the Revenge Killers bullet.

i wanted to add a few quick thoughts to this so here's another qc :blobthumbsup:

[SET] < make sure its in brackets
name: Dragon Dance Sweeper (Fire)
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Flare Blitz
move 3: Outrage / Dragon Claw
move 4: Roost / Earthquake
item: Charizardite X
ability: Blaze
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS] <make sure to use this as the brackets tag, unbold it
- mega Charizard x does not resist water attacks, they do neutral damage. mention that it does resist electric attacks
- instead of listing what dragon dance does like a !dt command, explain what it can help Charizard outspeed and ohko like sand rush drill at +2
- for flare blitz make sure you say that aside from hitting what it does supereffectively that its also powerful stab vs neutral targets. name a few of them
- take out outrage for neutral targets, since it gets locked into an attack, say dragon-types and fire resists, name a few of the fire resists
- for dragon claw just mention its a more reliable but less powerful dragon stab then outrage, nothing else is needed
- for this line remove the following part i cross out: Roost can be used to give Charizard longevity throughout the game and heal of Flare Blitz recoil, whereas Earthquake can be used to hit key targets like Heatran, Toxapex, and Tyranitar. , and other Poison or Rock types Pokemon with a drawback of Charizard not able to heal.
- tough claws also boosts outrage, please fix that
- for toxapex/tyranitar mention zen headbutt and hjk are the coverage moves cinderace beats them with respectively
- what walls does blacephalon break for zardx using its specs set, also talk about how its choice scarf set is a great partner for zardx. mention that scarf psyshock takes on scarf nihilego and scarf hpice beats scarf landot/garchomp/+1 dnite
- would remove the line lower abt scarf infernape/nihilego, just focus on band nape and talk about scarf blace where i told u 2
- mention that volcarona can take on psychic types with bug buzz for zardx

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
- remove swords dance from other options, its never as good as dd

This analysis has tons of small spelling, grammar, and prose errors. please check out this thread: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/spelling-and-grammar-standards.3656658/ and make sure you fix this up before sending it into gp. please tag me when you have both implemented my extra qc and fixed this up for gp, i will then stamp this!

Mega Charizard X is a great asset for Fire teams because of its great typing with taking neutral damage from Water type and able to sweep late game. Mega Charizard is a great asset for Fire teams because it is a fearsome setup sweeper thanks to Dragon Dance that allows it to threaten matchups such as Water and Dragon, that Fire naturally struggles against. Dragon Dance can boost Attack and Speed of Mega Charizard in X a single turn which allows it to outspeed Choice Scarf Excadrill and Mega Aerodactyl and Choice Scarf Hydregion after a one Dragon Dance. After a second Dragon Dance Mega Charizard X can outpace Sand Rush Excadrill and Alolan Raichu in sand and Electric Terrain. Flare Blitz is a powerful stab move that can hit Grass-, Ice-, and Steel-types such as Mega Venusaur, Galarian Darmanitan, and Aegislash and neutral targets like Mandibuzz and Mega Sableye at a cost of some HP. Outrage can be used to hit other Dragon-types such as Hydreigon and Kyurem and Fire resists like Slowbro and Swampert however being locked into it and confusion can be taken advantage of by Pokemon such as Azumarill. Dragon Claw is Mega Charizard X's more reliable but less powerful Dragon STAB.stab. Roost can be used to give Charizard longevity throughout the game and heal of Flare Blitz recoil, whereas Earthquake can be used to hit key targets like Heatran, Toxapex, and (unbold this) Tyranitar and Toxapex. 252 EVs in Attack and Speed alongside a Jolly Nature makes Mega Charizard X as powerful and as fast as possible, allowing Charizard to outspeed common threats like Excadrill and Hydreigon. Tough Claws makes Charizard's boosts the power of its contact moves like Flare Blitz, Dragon Claw, and Outrage do more damage. its held item, Charizardite X allows Charizard to mega evolve.

Torkoal can set up Stealth Rock and remove entry hazards from Mega Charizard X's side thanks to Rapid Spin, while fueling its Flare Blitz by setting up Sun. Rotom-heat can set up Light Screen and Reflect so Mega Charizard X safely can setup. Rotom-heat Rotom-H can also remove Stealth Rock with Defog and bring Mega Charizard X safely with Volt Switch. Infernape's Fighting typing allows it to threaten the likes of Tyranitar, Heatran, and Porygon2, the former two which Mega Charizard X cannot easily beat without Earthquake. Swords Dance can be used over Dragon Dance for Mega Charizard X to perform as a wallbreaker rather than a sweeper, but Fire prefers its sweeping capabilities because it already has plenty of wallbreakers to choose from. Thunder Punch can be use to hit Pelipper, Slowbro, and Tapu Fini super effectively while retaining a hard hit against Toxapex, but it prefers Earthquake's coverage against Tyranitar and Heatran or Roost's reliable recovery.

(i told you to remove swords dance completely)

[Check and Counter]
===================
**Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rock is Charizard's biggest counter as it takes 50% of its health when switching in its base form and 25% in its mega form and it limits the number of times Charizard can switch in if Stealth Rocks are up.
- first of all change 50% to half, 25% to quarter, also don't say biggest counter just talk about the chip

**Status**: Paralysis halves Charizard speed and therefore can be easily revenge killed whereas Toxic toxic puts it on a timer and gradually weakens it over time.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls like Hipoowdon Hippowdon and Swampert can easily take hits and use Whirlwind or Roar to phase them off. They can also threten threaten to ko Mega Charizard-x with Earthquake.

**Bulky waters** - since Mega Charizard X cannot bypass them without a good number of boosts, and they can potentially wear it down with Toxic or Scald should it not have Roost. Some examples are Mega Slowbro, Sap Sipper Azumarill, and Tapu Fini.

**Revenge Killers** - Revenge Killers such as Choice Scarf Terrakion and Latios can easily revenge kill Mega Charizard X even after a Dragon Dance.
