Psychic
========

Mega Latios finds itself on balance and offensive Psychic-type teams, being a fantastic Steel- and Poison-type breaker with access to Earthquake and Hidden Power Fire. However, Mega Latios competes for the Mega slot with many Pokemon on Psychic-type teams, such as Mega Latias, which is a bulky setup sweeper, Mega Gallade, which can help in the Normal- and Steel-type matchups, and Mega Slowbro, which is a physical wall and defensive setup wincon.

Moves
========

Psychic is Mega Latios's strongest Psychic-type STAB attack, allowing it to take on Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Toxapex. Earthquake hits Pokemon like Alolan Muk and Heatran, which tank its other two moves with ease. Hidden Power Fire allows Mega Latios to hit Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor that would otherwise wall it. Recover keeps Mega Latios healthy throughout the match, allowing it to threaten the opposing team with its powerful attacks.

Set Details
========

252 Special Attack and Speed EVs alongside a Naive nature maximize Mega Latios's offensive potential by reaching maximum Speed, allowing it to outpace Pokemon like Blacephalon without compromising the power of Earthquake. Levitate allows Mega Latios to switch into Ground-type attacks such as Sand Rush Excadrill's Earthquake. Latiosite allows Latios to Mega Evolve and gives it a boost in Attack and Special Attack.

Usage Tips
========

Mega Latios should be used to pressure Steel-types with the combination of Earthquake and Hidden Power Fire, since all common Steel-types bar Celesteela are 2HKOed by its coverage. Keep Mega Latios at near full health the entire game so it can continue to wallbreak. Mega Latios should switch into special wallbreakers that other teammates cannot wall, such as Mega Charizard Y, and Recover off the damage done. Mega Latios should avoid Thunder Wave and Toxic, as the former prevents it from outspeeding key threats such as Belly Drum Azumarill and Mega Scizor, while the latter puts it on a timer that limits its time in battle. Latios can bluff a Choice Scarf set in the Poison matchup in order to lure in checks such as Alolan Muk, proceeding to 2HKO it with Earthquake rather than being Pursuit trapped. Other Pokemon on the team such as Latias and Slowbro can bluff Mega Evolution, allowing Latios to pick up surprise OHKOs on Pokemon such as Scizor with Hidden Power Fire.

Team Options
========

Mew can cripple Pokemon such as Bisharp and Mega Aerodactyl with Will-O-Wisp and can shut down walls like Chansey and Porygon2 with Taunt and Knock Off. Mew can also support Mega Latios offensively by opting to run a Double Dance set, allowing it to beat common Choice Scarf Pokemon that threaten Mega Latios such as Heracross and Greninja after a Rock Polish. In return, Mega Latios can beat Pokemon like Mega Scizor and Alolan Muk for Mew with Hidden Power Fire and Earthquake, respectively. Jirachi can set up Stealth Rock for Mega Latios and provide a Fairy- and Dragon-type switch-in for it. In return, Mega Latios can take care of Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Ferrothorn with Psychic and Hidden Power Fire, respectively. Victini forms an amazing Steel-type breaking core with Latios. In addition, Victini can break through Pokemon like Celesteela, Chansey, and Porygon2 for Mega Latios, while Mega Latios can break through Pokemon like Heatran and Toxapex for Victini. With access to Focus Sash and Counter, Alakazam acts as a last-ditch check to any non Ghost-type physical attacker such as Bisharp, Excadrill, and Mega Charizard X while at full health. Alakazam can also help take on Pokemon like Mega Sableye for Mega Latios by running Dazzling Gleam. Latias can bluff as the team's Mega Evolution while also being able to provide Healing Wish support for Mega Latios, giving it a second chance to sweep. In return, Latios can take care of Pokemon like Alolan Muk, which give Latias trouble. Slowbro can also bluff the Mega Evolution slot and can take on Pokemon like Mega Sharpedo for Mega Latios. In return, Mega Latios can take on Pokemon like Tyranitar and Alolan Muk for it. Metagross can help Mega Latios take on Ice- and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Kyurem-B and Mega Diancie. Celebi can set up Stealth Rock, allowing Mega Latios to pick up OHKOs on Pokemon such as Mega Scizor, which would otherwise be 2HKOed by Hidden Power Fire.

* Mega Latios finds itself on Balanced or Offensive Psychic teams being a fantastic Steel-type breaker with access to Earthquake and HP Fire.
* Mega Latios competes for the mega slot with many Pokemon on Psychic-type teams such as Mega Latias which is a bulky setup sweeper, Mega Gallade which can help in the Dark-type matchup, and Mega Slowbro which is a physical wall and defensive setup win conditionthat can switch into Pokemon such as Excadrill.

evs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

I would reorder to Psychic / EQ / HP Fire / Recover

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Psychic is its strongest Psychic-type STAB attack. Expand on this, it's way too simple.
* Hidden Power Fire allows it to hit Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor, which would otherwise wall it.
* Earthquake allows it to hit Pokemon like Alolan Muk and Heatran, which tank its other two moves with ease.
* Recover allows it to stay healthy through the match allowing it to threaten the opposing team with its powerful attacks.

Set Details
========

* 252 Special Attack and 252 Speed alongside a Naive nature allow Mega Latios to increase its Offensive potential without comprising the power of Earthquake. Talk about what a +Speed nature allows it to outspeed that may be important
* The remaining 4 EVs are dumped into Attack allowing it boost the power of Earthquake.
* Latiosite allows it to Mega Evolve and gives it a boost in Attack and Special Attack.
* Levitate

Usage Tips
========

* Role in the Steel matchup / how to effectively use it
* Mega Latios should avoid Thunder Wave and Toxic as the former prevents it from attacking as a fast cleaner while the latter puts it on a timer limiting its time in battle. Make this the last bullet
* Keep Mega Latios at near full health the entire game so it can continue to wallbreak through the entire game. Mega Latios should be used to switch into Special wallbreakers that other teammates can not wall such as Mega Charizard Y and Recover off the damage done.
* If you have not already Mega Evolved Latios you can bluff a Choice Scarf set and force out faster Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Terrakion and or use it to lure in checks such as Alolan Muk. I would make this two separate points. First talk about using it on the same team as Latias or Slowbro in order to bluff the mega to gain important KOs (examples of things that would try to switch into a regular Latios that mega deals with). Then make a separate bullet talking about its role in luring and beating Alolan Muk as that's very important.

Team Options
========

* Mew can cripple Pokemon such as Bisharp and Mega Aerodactyl with Will-O-Wisp and can shut down walls like Chansey and Porygon2 with access to Taunt and Knock Off. Mew can also support Mega Latios offensively by opting to run Dual Dance alongside Latios allowing it to beat common Choice Scarf Pokemon that threaten Mega Latios such as Heracross and Greninja after a Rock Polish. Mega Latios in return can beat Pokemon like Mega Scizor and Alolan Muk for Mew with Hidden Power Fire and Earthquake, respectively.
* Victini forms an amazing Steel-type breaking core with Latios. Victini can break through Pokemon like Celesteela, Chansey, and Porygon2 for Mega Latios while it can break through Pokemon like Heatran and Toxapex for Victini.
* Alakazam acts as a late ditch check to Physical attackers such as Bisharp, Excadrill and Mega Charizard X with access to Focus Sash and Counter it can check any non Ghost-type Physical attacker while at full health. Alakazam can also help take on Pokemon like Mega Sableye for Mega Latios by running Dazzling Gleam.
* Deoxys-Speed can stack hazards for Mega Latios allowing it to clean late-game easier. Deoxys-S can also Taunt Pokemon like Porygon2 and Skarmory preventing them from recovering off damage or spreading status.
* Jirachi can also set Stealth Rock for Mega Latios as well and provides a Fairy- and Dragon-type switch-in for it. Mega Latios in return can take care of Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Ferrothorn with Psychic and Hidden Power Fire, respectively. Make this the second bullet
* Latias can bluff as the teams Mega Evolution slot while also being able to provide Healing Wish support for Mega Latios giving it a second chance to sweep. Latios in return can take care of Pokemon like Alolan Muk which give Latias trouble. Talk about what Scarf Latias beats for it.
* Slowbro can also bluff which Pokemon is the Mega Evolution slot and can take on Pokemon like GarchompMega Shapredo for Mega Latios. Mega Latios in return can take on Pokemon like Tyranitar and Alolan Muk for it.
* Metagross can switch-in to Fairy-type attacks and Pokemon for Mega Latios such as Tapu Bulu with Meteor Mash and can revenge kill Pokemon like Mega Altaria with Bullet Punch. Mega Latios is return can break walls such as Ferrothorn for it. Idk if this is worth including.

Psychic
--------
* Draco Meteor is Mega Latios's strongest STAB attack allowing it to nuke Pokemon like Mega Sableye. However running Draco Meteor means that it can no longer run Earthquake or Hidden Power Fire, allowing Pokemon like Alolan Muk or Mega Scizor to wall it. I suggest checking with Eien, but I personally wouldn't drop either EQ or HP Fire ever from MLatios. I feel like you'd sooner drop Psychic.

Checks and Counters
===================

Psychic
--------
**Alolan Muk**: Alolan Muk can easily switch into Latios and then proceed to Pursuit trap it. However Alolan Muk needs to be wary of Mega Latios as it does 2HKO it with Earthquake. This is already covered in the base analysis, I don't think you need to specify that it should be wary of MLatios.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Specially Defensive Pokemon such as Jirachi and Tyranitar can easily switch into Latios's attack and proceed to either set Stealth Rocks, cripple Latios with Thunder Wave, and damage it with their STAB attacks. However Tyranitar and Jirachi can not switch into Mega Latios as do not appreciate Earthquake. Not unique to MLatios, it only specifically beats those two SDef walls anyways, not all SDef walls with EQ.

**Steel-types**: Steel-type Pokemon can easily switch into Latios's STAB attacks as they resist both of them and can use it to setup or set hazards. However Steel-types are threatened by Mega Latios as all Steel-types bar Celesteela can not switch into Mega Latios because of Hidden Power Fire + Earthquake. Again, I don't think you need to specify that they should be wary of MLatios since it's pretty clear throughout this analysis that this set is meant to beat Steel.

**Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Greninja and Choice Scarf Hydreigon can outspeed Latios and threaten it with their STAB attacks. However Dark-types like Alolan Muk and Bisharp need to be wary of Mega Latios as it can 2HKO both of them with Earthquake. This isn't unique to Mega Latios, I think what's written already in the analysis is fine.

Personally, I don't think any of the current c&c bullets already on the site need to be edited really for the inclusion of a MLatios set, uness you can think of anything unique that isn't currently there.
QC 1/3 Assuming that we're only adding onto the current Latios analysis for overview and c&c.

Overview:
- It's not just a Steel killer but a Poison killer too (thanks to Psychic 2HKOing almost every Poison-type and EQ 2HKOing Alolan Muk). That's its specific niche: beating both at once
- Mega Gallade in Dark isn't worth mentioning because Mega Sableye. Better to mention Normal instead

Usage Tips:
- Paralysis is bad because a lot of Pokemon that Mega Latios is supposed to beat are faster than a paralyzed Mega Latios: Z-Belly Drum Azumarill, Mega Scizor, Nidoking, etc. Not really anything about cleaning

Team Options:
- Metagross is a great option for beating Fairy while also handling Ice-types
- Celebi
