Mega Latios is a decent wallbreaker due to its great Special Attack stat, great Speed stat, and its vast movepool that allows it to hit a lot of Pokemon. It’s typing also provides it with resistances to Grass, Fighting, Psychic, Water, and Fire, allowing it to be a decent check to Pokemon like Kartana, Mega Medicham, Slowking, and Heatran. However, it often has trouble picking its coverage options, and faces severe competition from other Psychic-type wallbreakers like Tapu Lele. Ice Beam enables Mega Latios to take care of Gliscor, Landorus-T, Kartana, and Garchomp. Aura Sphere can punish Weavile and Mega Tyranitar that try to hard switch into Mega Latios and Pursuit trap it, however, Mega Latios can be vulnerable to getting OHKOed by these Pokemon if it doesn't get the turn right. Aura Sphere can also hit Steel-types like Magnezone, Ferrothorn, and Excadrill, however, Earthquake is an option over Aura Sphere to OHKO offensive Heatran and Magnezone. It can also 2HKO Victini and defensive Heatran, but has the downside of doing less damage to Mega Tyranitar. Thunderbolt goes great with Ice Beam, hitting Pokemon such as Tapu Fini, Slowbro, Slowking, Corviknight, and Skarmory. Psychic is an option over Thunderbolt to allow Mega Latios to have a slim chance of 2HKOing Clefable and threaten Toxapex severely. Mystical Fire is another option that is great for OHKOing Steel-types like Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn while also doing decent damage against Mega Mawile, Aegislash, and Jirachi. A Timid nature should always be used unless Mega Latios is running Earthquake, which it would have to run a Hasty nature to avoid the Attack drop. 252 Speed EVs with one of these two natures allows it to outpace Garchomp and Kartana.

Mega Latios fits well on balance teams and can threaten a lot of Pokemon due to its great movepool. Toxapex is great for coming in attacks from Mega Diancie, Mega Scizor, and Aegislash. It can also provide Toxic Spikes or Toxic support to spread around status and weaken the opposing team and can lure in opposing Poison-types for Mega Latios to gain momentum on them. Clefable is a great check to troublesome Dark-types such as Weavile, Mega Sableye, and Greninja. Clefable can also provide Stealth Rock support to wear down the opposing team, making it easier for Mega Latios to OHKO Pokemon. Tapu Fini can help with Greninja and Mega Gyarados while Corviknight can use Body Press to take care of Mega Tyranitar and Weavile and bring Mega Latios safely via U-turn. Magnezone is a great trapper as it can take care of troublesome Steel-types that hinder Mega Latios lacking Mystical Fire such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Aegislash, and Mega Mawile. Ferrothorn can provide passive recovery with Leech Seed, use Spikes to help wear down Heatran and opposing Ferrothorn, and can use Power Whip to help with Mega Gyarados and Mega Tyranitar. Kartana and Rillaboom are good to threaten specially defensive walls like Blissey and Slowking that wall Mega Latios. Heatran is also good to take care of Clefable. Mega Latios also has trouble with Slowking due to it tanking any of Mega Latios attacks, so Tapu Koko or Pursuit users like Weavile are a good way to take care of it.

Draco Meteor can be considered to allow Mega Latios to take care of Mega Medicham, Kommo-o, and a non boosted Mega Latias but comes with a price of giving up Thunderbolt or Ice Beam that hinders it from taking on Slowbro and Corviknight. Psyshock to allow Mega Latios pressures Blissey to waste a turn recovering health, while also doing great damage to specially defensive Toxapex and Gastrodon; however, while it does more against these two, Psyshock is not a better option due to Psychic doing more damage against Clefable while still taking care of Toaxpex.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Weavile, Mega Tyranitar, and Tyranitar can OHKO Mega Latios with their STAB attacks or use Pursuit to trap and OHKO it. However, they need to watch for Aura Sphere on switch-in. Greninja is also a threat to Mega Latios, as it can outspeed and OHKO Mega Latios with Dark Pulse. Mega Gyarados can also pose a problem after using Dragon Dance once, as it can outspeed and OHKO Mega Latios with Crunch. Mega Sableye can also wall Mega Latios as it can tank any of its attacks, and slowly wear down Mega Latios with Knock Off + Will-O-Wisp.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Aegislash can take any of Mega Latios attacks and OHKO it with its Ghost STAB. While Mega Scizor has to be wary about Mystical Fire, if Mega Latios is not running it, Mega Scizor can come in on any of Mega Latios attacks and force it out. Mega Mawile can also pose a problem if it is running Sucker Punch or Mega Latos is not running Earthquake or Mystical Fire. Corviknight can also be troublesome as it can PP stall out Thunderbolt or Mystical Fire. Ferrothorn can wall Mega Latios, as if it is lacking Aura Sphere or Mystical Fire, it cannot take care of it

Depending on Mega Latios’ coverage, certain Steel-types can wall or take care of it. Without Aura Sphere or Earthquake Heatran can wall it, and without Mystical Fire, Mega Mawile and Mega Scizor can take care of it while Ferrothorn can wall it. Corviknight can also be troublesome as it can PP stall out Thunderbolt or Mystical Fire while Aegislash can take any of Mega Latios attacks and OHKO it with its Ghost STAB.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Tapu Lele, Tapu Fini, and Clefable can threaten to OHKO Mega Latios with Moonblast.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Without Psyshock, Blissey, especially defensive Toxapex, and Gastrodon can come in on any of Mega Latios attacks, and wear it down with Toxic.

Mega Latios is a great special attacker due to its great Special Attack stat, great Speed stat, and its vast movepool that allows it to hit a lot of Pokemon. Ice Beam enables Mega Latios to take care of Gliscor, Landorus-T, Kartana, and Garchomp. Aura Sphere is mainly for punishing Weavile that tries to hard switch into Mega Latios or Tyranitar that will try to Pursuit trap it but can also hit Steel-types like Magnezone, Ferrothorn, and Excadrill. Aura Sphere can punish Weavile and Mega Tyranitar that try to hard switch into Mega Latios and Pursuit trap it, however, Mega Latios can be vulnerable to getting OHKOed by these Pokemon if it doesn't get the turn right. It can also 2HKO Victini and defensive Heatran, but has a downside of doing less damage to Mega Tyranitar. Feel like Mega Tyranitar is a bit more important mention that Tyranitar right now. Thunderbolt goes great with Ice Beam, as it allows Mega Latios to hit most Pokemon in the tier, while also hitting Pokemon such as Tapu Fini, Slowbro, Slowking, Corviknight, and Skarmory. Psychic is an option over Thunderbolt to allow Mega Latios to have a slim chance of 2HKOing Clefable and take care of Toxapex threaten Toxapex severely. A Timid nature should always be used unless Mega Latios is running Earthquake, which it would have to run a Hasty nature to avoid the Attack drop. 252 Speed EVs with one of these two natures allows it to outpace Garchomp and Kartana. I'd also mention that majority of these moves are not supported by STAB and may lack an extra oomph against certain targets.

Mega Latios fits well on balance teams and can threaten a lot of Pokemon due to its great movepool. Toxapex is great for coming in attacks from Mega Diancie, Mega Scizor, and Aegislash. It can also provide Toxic Spikes or Toxic support to spread around status and weaken the opposing team that can lure in opposing Poison-types and allow Mega Latios to take care of them and can lure in opposing Poison-types for Mega Latios to gain momentum on them. Clefable can also provide Stealth Rock support to wear down the opposing team, making it easier for Mega Latios to OHKO Pokemon. Tapu Fini and Corviknight are good to provide Defog support. Mega Latios is only affected by Stealth Rock so not the greatest thing to mention. Tapu Fini can also help with Greninja, Kommo-o, and Mega Gyarados while Corviknight can use Body Press to take care of Mega Tyranitar and Weavile and bring Mega Latios in safely via U-turn. I think mentioning some teammates that help break the specially defensive walls like Blissey and Slowking would be worth noting. Kartana and Rillaboom come to mind.

Draco Meteor can be considered to allow Mega Latios to take care of Mega Medicham, Kommo-o, and a non boosted Mega Latias. Mention the drawbacks of dropping one of Mega Latios' coverage moves for Draco Meteor. Psyshock to allow Mega Latios to do major damage to pressures Blissey to waste a turn recovering health that will try to switch into its attacks, while also doing great damage to specially defensive Toxapex and Gastrodon. Mention how the damage against specially defensive Toxapex and Gastrodon is not valued as much as to Psychic's damage against Toxapex in general and Clefable.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Weavile can OHKO Mega Latios with its STAB attacks or use Pursuit. Mega Tyranitar and Tyranitar can OHKO Mega Latios with Pursuit if Mega Latios tries to switch out. Combine the Weavile, Tyranitar and Mega Tyranitar points here into one since they all essentially do the same thing of threatening to OHKO Mega Latios be it Crunch or Triple Axel, and can also trap it with Pursuit. Greninja is also a threat to Mega Latios, as it can outspeed and OHKO Mega Latios with Dark Pulse. A lot of Pokemon can OHKO Mega Latios, Greninja being able to outspeed alongside this is pretty big. Mega Gyrarados Gyarados can also pose a problem after using Dragon Dance once, as it can outpace outspeed and OHKO Mega Latios with Crunch. Mega Sableye can also wall Mega Latios as it can tank any of its attacks, and slowly wear down Mega Latios with Knock Off + Will-O-Wisp.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Aegislash can take any of Mega Latios attack and OHKO it with its Ghost STAB. Mention Corviknight and Ferrothorn as well, and also go a little more in-depth with their interactions with Mega Latios.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Mega Diancie, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele and Clefable either outpace, or can tank Mega Latios's attacks and OHKO it with these Fairy STAB attacks. Mega Diancie doesn't seem like a great example since it speed-ties and can be at risk to Earthquake 2HKOing, Tapu Lele seems like a more suitable mention. Tapu Koko is also 2HKOed by Ice Beam and Earthquake and fails to OHKO back without help from Choice Specs. Also go a little more in-depth with the specific interactions here.

**Blissey Specially Defensive Walls**: Without Psyshock, Blissey can come in on any of Mega Latios attacks, and wear it down with Toxic. Mention specially defensive Toxapex, Tapu Fini, and Gastrodon and what they can do to Mega Latios.

It should also be noted while Mega Latios has a great movepool it lacks the power from the move not being a STAB attack which prevents it from taking care of certain Pokemon like Corviknight and Mega Latias.

I would definitely mention Pokemon that can put pressure on Clefable, as even with Psychic its pretty hard to win against it. Heatran’s a good option. Slowking is another thorn in Mega Latios’ side so pressuring that with Pursuit or Tapu Koko is a decent option.

Mega Latios is a decent wallbreaker due to With its a great Special Attack stat, having great overall Speed stat, and its a vast movepool,(AC) makes Mega Latios a decent wallbreaker that allows itself to hit a lot of Pokemon. It’s typing also provides it with resistances to Grass, Fighting, Psychic, Water, and Fire,(RC) allowing it to be a decent check into Pokemon like Kartana, Mega Medicham, Slowking, and Heatran. However, it often has trouble picking its coverage options, and faces severe competition from other Psychic-type wallbreakers like Tapu Lele. Ice Beam enables Mega Latios to take care of Ground-types like Gliscor, Landorus-T, Kartana,(RC) and Garchomp.(A little unneccesery to remove Kartana on my end, but I do think it fits the text well with "Ground-types" that i added) Aura Sphere can punish Dark-types like Weavile,(AC) and Mega Tyranitar that try to hard switch into Mega Latios and Pursuit trap it, however, Mega Latios it can be vulnerable to getting OHKOed by these Pokemon if it doesn't get the turn right. Aura Sphere can also hit Steel-types like Kartana,(AC) Magnezone, Ferrothorn, and Excadrill, however, Earthquake is can be an option over Aura Sphere to OHKO offensive Heatran,(AC) and Magnezone.
