[SET COMMENTS]
Mega Lopunny has cemented itself as one of the tier's best revenge killers. It is able to use its good power, speed, and ability to viably run two priority moves to revenge kill notable threats such as Dragapult, Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan, and Choice Scarf Hydreigon. Mega Lopunny's great Speed tier and unresisted STAB combination thanks to Scrappy also allow it to serve as a late-game cleaner itself. Fake Out is used to allow Mega Lopunny to put pressure on frailer Pokemon that are faster than it, such as Mega Alakazam, Choice Scarf Greninja, and Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan. Quick Attack allows Mega Lopunny to cleanly revenge kill weakened and faster threats if Fake Out doesn't finish the job, as well as aiding it in cleaning late-game should the other team's faster threats be weakened significantly. Toxic is also viable, however, as it allows Mega Lopunny to punish physically defensive Pokemon such as Tangrowth, Slowbro, and Hippowdon, all of which come in without much trouble otherwise. Ice Punch can also be used to beat Gliscor while also threatening Garchomp and Landorus-T with an OHKO, but it isn't as consistently useful as the other two options. Limber is the preferred pre-Mega ability so Lopunny can prevent paralysis in a pinch.

Mega Lopunny works well on balanced and offensive teams that need to shore up their matchup against opposing offensive squads. Mega Lopunny struggles to hurt defensive Pokemon such as Tangrowth, Hippowdon, and Slowbro if it isn't running Toxic, so Pokemon that can pressure them are good partners. Strong wallbreakers such as Nasty Plot Hydreigon, Swords Dance Garchomp, and Swords Dance Kartana are good options in this regard. They, in turn, appreciate Mega Lopunny's good matchups against most Pokemon that are faster than them. Mega Lopunny dislikes Fairy-types like Tapu Fini and Clefable, so solid checks to them like Aegislash and Heatran are good partners. There are a couple of faster offensive Pokemon (most notably Choice Scarf Kartana, Shift Gear Magearna and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele) that Mega Lopunny can't revenge kill, so having ways to deal with them are recommended. This can take the form of Tornadus-T, Zapdos, Heatran, or Corviknight. Mega Lopunny works well with Spikes support, as it allows Mega Lopunny to push much more damage onto the offensive threats it's tasked with and allows it to overwhelm Pokemon such as Tapu Fini and Assault Vest Tangrowth. Spikes setters such as Ash-Greninja and Ferrothorn are good partners as a result, with Ash-Greninja in particular appreciating the removal of the aforementioned threats.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Mega Lopunny has cemented itself as one of the tier's best revenge killers. It is able to use its good power, speed, and ability to viably run two priority moves to revenge kill notable threats such as Mega Blastoise, Dragapult, and Hydreigon. (GDarm is a pretty relevant mon to name here)
  • Scrappy gives Mega Lopunny perfect coverage with just its STABs, allowing it to afford to run options such as Quick Attack and Encore in the last slot. Scrappy also prevents Intimidate from working, meaning that Pokemon such as Landorus-Therian that rely on Intimidate can struggle to deal with it.
  • Mega Lopunny's high powered STAB attacks in conjunction with with its great attack stat allows it to greatly threaten offensive threats slower than it such as Greninja and Hydreigon. (i think this is already covered sufficiently with the first bullet point)
  • Unfortunately, Mega Lopunny struggles to hurt common defensive Pokemon such as Tangrowth and Slowbro. These Pokemon are very often found on bulkier builds, meaning that Mega Lopunny can sometimes struggle to make an impact in such matchups.
  • Many Pokemon that Mega Lopunny would otherwise beat, such as Heatran, Ferrothorn, and Aegislash, often run Protect (or, in Aegislash's case, King's Shield.) This can cause annoying guessing games thanks to Mega Lopunny running High Jump Kick in order to hit them.
  • A vulnerability to all entry hazards in conjunction with several common Pokemon viably running Rocky Helmet can lead to Mega Lopunny getting worn down over the course of a match.
    (name its weakness to opposing priority such as genesect/zygarde)

Set Description
========

  • Fake Out allows Mega Lopunny to deal a hard free hit onto frailer, faster threats while disallowing them from hitting it in return. This is crucial when attempting to revenge kill certain faster threats that pose a threat to Mega Lopunny in return, most notably Mega Blastoise.
  • Quick Attack completes a brutal double priority offensive set that allows Mega Lopunny to cleanly revenge kill weakened or frailer offensive threats.
  • Encore is a viable option that can let Mega Lopunny potentially beat things such as Clefable and Slowbro by locking them into the wrong move. (i wouldn't say encore alone beats them, think u need PuP for that, maybe replace 'beat' with 'take advantage of')
  • Ice Punch is another viable option over Quick Attack that lets Lopunny slam Zygarde, Landorus-Therian, and Gliscor. Both of these moves necesitate dropping Quick Attack, however, which can be hard to justify in many scenarios thanks to its sheer effectiveness in the metagame.
  • Mega Lopunny should generally be mega evolving immediately, but having Limber as its pre mega ability is recommended as it allows Lopunny to avoid paralysis if it really needs to.
Usage Tips
========

  • Using Fake Out liberally against faster offensive builds to push as much damage as possible onto faster threats such as Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan and Dragapult.
  • Mega Lopunny can act as an excellent cleaner in certain matchups, especially once bulkier Pokemon such as Tangrowth and Hippowdon have been removed. If you are aiming to do this, make sure Mega Lopunny stays healthy throughout the match while maneuvering your wallbreaker to take out the opposing defensive stop.
  • Getting hazards up can up the pressure even further and apply huge chip damage onto the opposing team. This also helps to somewhat circumvent Mega Lopunny's issues with bulkier squads, as they don't appreciate the extra chip damage as they switch around.
  • Variants of Mega Lopunny lacking Encore need to be played with caution when facing down a bulkier squad, as Mega Lopunny has a tendency to get walled by common threats like Slowbro and Toxapex that then proceed to do whatever they want. Encore variants, on the other hand, can come in and lock these Pokemon into an undesirable move before proceeding to do whatever it wants.

Team Options
========

  • Mega Lopunny tends to fit best on offensive and balanced builds. It's jobs on said teams is to ease their matchup against opposing offensive squads.
  • Mega Lopunny's relatively poor matchup against bulkier builds necessitates strong wallbreaking to circumvent this issue. This means that teammates such as Nasty Plot Hydreigon or Swords Dance Aegislash can help to ease this matchup.
  • Mega Lopunny greatly appreciates hazards on the opponents side of the field, as it can help provide even more damage onto offensive builds while also easing its matchup against bulkier squads a bit. This makes partners such as Heatran, Ferrothorn, Clefable, and Seismitoad good to have.
  • Mega Lopunny makes for an interesting addition onto teams that rely on stacking hazards to deal damage, as its Fake Out in conjunction with all the switching can really lead to racking up damage. Teams relying on Toxic Spikes in particular appreciate Mega Lopunny's presense, as its Fake Out proves useful for pushing even more chip damage onto the opponents. Toxic Spikes teams relying on Reuniclus for their late game wincon also appreciate Mega Lopunny's ability to scare the Dark-types that threaten to halt Reuniclus in its tracks.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Power-up Punch can be used in conjunction with Encore to let Mega Lopunny slowly boost up and muscle through defensive Pokemon such as Clefable and Toxapex. It has huge issues finding a place to fit both on its moveset, however, as Return, High Jump Kick, and Fake Out are all crucial moves.
  • Toxic can be used to punish bulky Pokemon such as Tangrowth and Slowbro that usually switch into Mega Lopunny.
  • Healing Wish can be useful by healing up a teammate if Mega Lopunny's job is done, but a lot of Mega Lopunny's utility comes from revenge killing late game sweeper threats or cleaning late game, so it usually will prove more useful by staying alive throughout a match.
  • Drain Punch can remedy Mega Lopunny's longevity issues to an extent while also easing the matchup against Protect users, but the drop in power is extremely noticeable and generally not worth it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physically Bulky Pokemon**: Many of the tier's common physical walls can take Mega Lopunny's attacks with relative ease. Tangrowth, Toxapex, and Slowbro easily take Mega Lopunny's attacks and can proceed to force it out if it isn't running Encore and/or Power-up Punch. (add Clef)

**Residual Damage** Mega Lopunny has a tendency to get worn down over the course of a match despite its resistance to Stealth Rock. Mega Lopunny takes damage from Spikes, and its tendency to switch in and out a lot, especially during the early game, can lead to damage adding up. This is further compounded by the fact that several common Pokemon, such as Tangrowth and Slowbro, often run Rocky Helmet. (i'd switch around the second and third bullet point here)

**Faster Threats**: Fast Choice Scarfers that can take Mega Lopunny's priority moves do well against it. Choice Scarf Kartana and Genesect are examples of viable Scarfers that outrun Mega Lopunny while not minding its priority attacks too much. Special mention must go to Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, who straight up blocks the priority moves thanks to Psychic Terrain.

**Users of Protect** Many Pokemon that Mega Lopunny would easily beat, such as Ferrothorn, Heatran, and Aegislash, often run Protect (Or King's Shield in Aegislash's case) resulting in awkward 50/50s due to the potential of taking crash damage if you High Jump Kick into the Protect. (don't think this can be used to check it)

I would also note that Mega Lopp also forces things out, which enables it to rack up the hazard damage vs the opposing team even quicker. Hazard setters such as Heatran, Greninja, Ferrothorn, and Clefable are good teammates in this regard. Toxic Spikes teams that rely on Reuniclus as their win condition also appreciate Mega Lopunny's ability to threaten the Dark-types that would otherwise halt Reuniclus in its tracks. Also note that with Fake Out, it can rack up Psn Damage too.

It is able to use its good power, speed, and ability to viably run two priority moves to revenge kill notable threats such as Dragapult, Galarian Darmanitan, and Volcarona not sure about mentioning Volc since a lot of them are Phys Def and the chance of Flame Body makes it really risky for Lop to revenge it unless its super low, either remove it entirely or mention this. Mega Lopunny's great speed tier and unresisted STAB combination thanks to Scrappy also allow it to serve as a late game cleaner itself. Fake Out is used to allow Mega Lopunny to put pressure on frailer Pokemon that are faster than it, such as Mega Alakazam, Choice Scarf Greninja, and Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan. Mega Lopunny works well on Balance and Offensive teams that need to shore up their matchup against opposing offensive squads. Mega Lopunny struggles to hurt defensive Pokemon such as Tangrowth, Gliscor, and Slowbro if it isn't running Toxic, This makes it sound like it can beat Gliscor if it has Toxic, which of course doesn't help it at all.so Pokemon that can pressure them are good partners. Strong wallbreakers such as Nasty Plot Hydreigon, Swords Dance Garchomp, and Swords Dance Kartana are good options in this regard. Id prefer to see this removed but if you choose to keep it, it should be changed to highlight Ash Gren and Ferro as good teammates and why(overwhelming fini/av tang/clef for gren etc etc), instead of hazard reliant teams. Mega Lopunny's ability to force a lot of switches also allows these teams to push even more damage onto the opposition make sure to change/remove this depending on what you do with the previous sentence. Same with the next sentence ->. Hazard setters such as Heatran, Greninja, Ferrothorn, and Clefable are good teammates in this regard. Toxic Spikes teams that rely on Reuniclus as their win condition also appreciate Mega Lopunny's ability to threaten the Dark-types that would otherwise halt Reuniclus in its tracks, while Fake Out can allow for even more Poison damage to rack up.
