[OVERVIEW]

With an excellent defensive typing and two decent forms of recovery, Mega Venusaur is an amazing defensive stop to many offensive and defensive foes alike, ranging from Celesteela to Greninja to Tapu Koko. Thick Fat is a wonderful ability for Mega Venusaur, as it halves the damage taken from Fire- and Ice-type moves and makes it a better wall as a result. Mega Venusaur's secondary Grass typing is essential for Poison teams, as it can reliably check problematic Ground-types such as Dugtrio, Hippowdon, and Mega Swampert through Giga Drain. However, like many defensive tanks, Mega Venusaur is rather slow and susceptible to faster offensive threats in Dragonite and stallbreaker Hydreigon. Also, lthough Mega Venusaur is meant to tank many hits, it can be worn down by chip damage from entry hazards and moves upon switching in. This is because its main recovery in Synthesis only has 8 PP, while its other option in Leech Seed only heals a small amount of health each turn and has a chance to miss the foe.

Moves
========

Giga Drain allows Mega Venusaur to immediately restore health upon use and also hits Ground-types such as Hippowdon and Dugtrio. Sludge Bomb is primarily used to hit Grass- and Fairy-types such as Breloom and Tapu Koko for super effective damage, though its high chance to poison is also beneficial to chip away at other defensive tanks such as Mantine, Mega Sableye, and Porygon2. Synthesis is Mega Venusaur's main form of recovery. Hidden Power Fire hits bulky Steel-types in Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Mega Scizor for solid damage, effectively preventing further entry hazard stacking or setup. Leech Seed is another option that allows Mega Venusaur to gain passive recovery by sapping away at the foe's health and is very useful against its defensive checks such as Chansey and Celesteela.

Set Details
========

16 Speed EVs are used to Speed creep Adamant Azumarill. The remaining EVs are placed into HP and Defense and coupled with a Bold nature to maximize Mega Venusaur's physical bulk while also giving it a chance to avoid the 2HKO from Choice Scarf Victini's V-create. Venusaurite is the required item in order to use Mega Venusaur. Thick Fat is Mega Venusaur's only ability, halving damage from Fire- and Ice-type moves.

Usage Tips
========

It's ideal to Mega Evolve Venusaur immediately, as it gains the defensive capabilities of Thick Fat, which allows Mega Venusaur to take on many Fire- and Ice-type attacks. Use Sludge Bomb and Leech Seed whenever possible, as they both gradually chip away at the foe. Leech Seed has the additional benefit of giving weakened teammates extra health, so they can be brought in on defensive options from foes, such as their recovery moves. Though Mega Venusaur is very bulky, it's susceptible to being worn down from entry hazards such as Spikes and Stealth Rock, which is especially noteworthy considering the low PP of Synthesis. If possible, Defog hazards away before sending Mega Venusaur in. Mega Venusaur is Poison's best check against Ground teams and its best way to defeat them, so do not send it out carelessly against every incoming Ground-type attack. Mega Venusaur must take caution when using Synthesis in different weather conditions, as its recovery is reduced in hail, rain, and sandstorm. Against setup sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, it's ideal to switch to a teammate that can check them, such as Haze Toxapex or Choice Scarf Nihilego. Both of these teammates assist Mega Venusaur by preemptively stopping them and can force a switch as a result. Utilize Mega Venusaur to come in and block common Trick users like Gengar that look to swap items with teammates like Crobat and Toxapex, as it would inhibit their utility roles. Be cautious of Taunt users such as Aerodactyl and Hydreigon, as they will restrict Mega Venusaur's ability to recover its health. It is ideal to have Mega Venusaur as healthy as possible in order for it to tank hits.

Team Options
========

Toxapex is a premier partner for Mega Venusaur, as its various forms of recovery and better resistance to Fire- and Ice-type moves ease the pressure on Mega Venusaur to handle Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y and Kyurem-B. Toxapex's ability to spread various forms of status through Scald burns, Toxic Spikes, and Baneful Bunker punishes physical attackers constantly. Baneful Bunker also allows Toxapex to scout options from common Choice-locked foes such as Tapu Koko and Latios and make the appropriate switch to a teammate. In return, Mega Venusaur offers an Electric resistance and a Ground neutrality for Toxapex. Alolan Muk also complements Mega Venusaur defensively, as its Dark typing and access to Knock Off and Pursuit make it a very potent presence against Psychic-types such as Latios and Dual Dance Mew that otherwise become very threatening to Poison teams. In return, Mega Venusaur can pivot into Ground-types and physical attackers for Alolan Muk. Choice Scarf Nihilego is a solid revenge killer against Flying- and Fire-types that threaten Mega Venusaur, such as Mega Charizard Y, Tornadus-T, and Volcarona. Nidoking can support Mega Venusaur as an offensive Stealth Rock user and wallbreaker, as its sheer power and vast coverage options can 2HKO defensive walls such as Mega Sableye and Celesteela. In return, Mega Venusaur can come in on Water- and Ice-type attacks that threaten Nidoking. Crobat assists Mega Venusaur by providing a Ground immunity and acting as a utility teammate, with options such as Defog and Taunt to prevent hazard stacking and U-turn to pivot out to teammates. Crobat can also check Mega Pinsir, one of Mega Venusaur's biggest offensive checks, through Brave Bird and use Taunt to prevent hazard stacking and recovery from Ferrothorn and Chansey. Gengar acts as a check to problematic Psychic-types such as Mega Gallade and Victini while also being able to spinblock foes such as Torkoal and Armaldo, which is very important for taking on Fire and Bug teams, as these Pokemon are their primary form of hazard control. Scolipede acts a setup sweeper that can check common revenge killers such as Latios and Excadrill after a couple of Speed boosts as well as act as a potent cleaner against Psychic teams, since it can threaten common checks to it after multiple Speed boosts, such as Choice Scarf Victini, Choice Scarf Latios, and Mega Latias. SubToxic Salazzle is a niche teammate that uses its unique ability, Corrosion, to poison and stall out Poison- and Steel-types such as Toxapex, Mega Venusaur, Heatran, and Celesteela.

Poison
--------

Earthquake can be utilized over Hidden Power Fire to beat one of Mega Venusaur's biggest stops in Heatran. Outside of this purpose, however, there isn't much of a reason to use it, since Mega Venusaur would have to utilize its subpar Attack stat. Additionally, teammates such as Nidoking and Scolipede carry Ground-type coverage for Heatran and have greater power behind their attacks.

Checks and Counters

Poison
--------

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types overall threaten Mega Venusaur, as offensive foes like Mega Gallade and Latios threaten Mega Venusaur through their Psychic-type STAB attacks, while defensive foes such as Jirachi and stallbreaker Mew can status and gradually chip away at Mega Venusaur with few repercussions.

**Offensive Flying-types**: Offensive Flying-types such as Mega Pinsir and Tornadus-T threaten Mega Venusaur with their STAB attacks.

**Wallbreakers**: Naturally powerful wallbreakers such as Kyurem-B, Dragonite, Diggersby, Landorus, and Mega Charizard Y can easily wear down Mega Venusaur, as its meager recovery means that it cannot take consecutive hits from these foes despite having very solid bulk all-around.

**Stallbreakers**: Common stallbreakers such as Mew, Heatran, Gliscor, and Crobat can prevent Mega Venusaur from recovering through Taunt, rendering its role as a tank useless for a short period of time.

**Setup Sweepers**: Calm Mind Mega Latias, Z-Conversion Porygon-Z, and Supersonic Skystrike Gyarados are a few of the setup sweepers that can take advantage of and overpower Mega Venusaur after one boost, as its lackluster offensive coverage invites these foes in.

Poison

*With the combination of an excellent defensive typing and two decent forms of recovery, Mega Venusaur is an amazing defensive stop to many offensive and defensive foes alike.
(This feels like its worded weird, try and rephrase to something like "Mega Venusaur is an amazing defensive Pokemon on Poison-type teams.")
*Thick Fat is a wonderful ability for Mega Venusaur, as halving the damage from its Fire and Ice-type weaknesses allows it to stay in on foes such as Alolan Ninetales, Rotom-Heat, Weavile, and Infernape.
(Rotom-heat feels odd as an example due to it not being a potent threat to poison, try using something like
*Having a Grass typing is essential for Poison teams, as it can reliably check problematic Ground-types such as Dugtrio, Hippowdon, and Mega Swampert through Giga Drain.
Mention here how its typing helps it defensively neutralize the usual weakness.
*Like many defensive tanks, Mega Venusaur is rather slow and susceptible to faster offensive threats in Hydreigon and Mega Scizor.
You mention HP fire so idk if Scizor really threatens that much.
*Using Synthesis can sometimes cause more harm than good, as its recovery is halved in weather conditions outside of sunlight.
This feels more like a moves or usage tips thing imo.
*Although Mega Venusaur is meant to tank many hits, it can be easily worn down by chip damage from hazards and moves upon switching in. This is because its main recovery in Synthesis only has 8 PP, while its other option in Leech Seed only saps a small amount of health each turn and has a chance to miss the foe.

Most of this overview feels blocky, try to flow the paragraphs into each other better.

*Because Mega Venusaur has many options for a fourth moveslot, such as HP Fire, Leech Seed, Earthquake, and so on, it's best keep that information away from the opponent, unless it's a matchup such as Steel or Normal where you have to use HP Fire or Leech Seed constantly.
*Mega Venusaur is Poison's best check and win condition against Ground teams, so do not send it out carelessly against every incoming Ground attack.
*Against setup sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, it's ideal to switch into a foe that can counteract them, such as Toxapex with Haze and Choice Scarf Nihilego. Both of these teammates assist Mega Venusaur by pre-emptively stopping them, and can force many switches as a result.

In return, Mega Venusaur can come in on Water and Ice-type attacks that threaten Nidoking.
*Crobat acts assists Mega Venusaur by acting as a Ground immunity and utility teammate, with options in Defog and Taunt to prevent hazard stacking, and U-turn to pivot out into another foe. Crobat can also help to check one of Mega Venusaur's biggest offensive checks in Mega Pinsir through Brave Bird, and even can choose to use Super Fang as an option to beat powerful defensive foes in Chansey, Celesteela, and Mantine. In return, Mega Venusaur covers Crobat's Electric and Rock weaknesses.
*Scolipede acts a setup sweeper for Mega Venusaur, being able to check common revenge killers such as Latios and Excadrill after a couple of Speed Boosts.
*Gengar acts as a check to problematic Psychic-types such as Mega Gallade and Victini, while also being able to spin block foes such as Torkoal and Armaldo, preventing hazard removal.

Not sure what hazard removal has to do with mega-Venu unless you mean it spinblocks leech seed, which is actually useful against certain mons.

*Earthquake can be utilized over Hidden Power Fire to beat one of Mega Venusaur's biggest stops (I honestly prefer check/counter over stop but that's a me thing, do what you wish) in Heatran. Outside of this purpose, there isn't much of a reason to use it since Mega Venusaur would have to utilize its subpar Attack stat. Additionally, teammates such as Nidoking and Scolipede carry Ground coverage for Heatran, and provide better power behind their attacks.
*Knock Off is a general utility option that eliminates the foe's held item, and it finds utility on Mega Venusaur as unsuspecting Psychic-types, Chansey, and Porygon2 can be lured out rather easily. While it isn't a terrible option for Mega Venusaur to run, it's a bit underwhelming on Mega Venusaur, since HP Fire and Leech Seed serve a more prominent purpose on Mega Venusaur for coverage and recovery.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types overall threaten Mega Venusaur, as offensive foes like Mega Gallade and Latios threaten Mega Venusaur through their Psychic STAB, while Defensive foes such as Jirachi and Stallbreaker Mew can status and gradually chip away at Mega Venusaur with little repercussions.

**Fire-types**: While Thick Fat may soften Fire-type attacks, foes such as Mega Charizard Y and Heatran still heavily pressure and break Mega Venusaur reliably, especially in sun.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types, offensively and defensively, can check Mega Venusaur. Offensive threats in Mega Pinsir and Tornadus-T chip away at Mega Venusaur with their Flying STAB, while Defensive Flying-types in Celesteela and Zapdos can outstall Mega Venusaur due to their amazing bulk.

**Wallbreakers**: Naturally powerful wallbreakers such as Kyurem-Black, Dragonite, Diggersby, Landorus, and Victini can easily wear down Mega Venusaur, as its meager recovery means that it cannot take consecutive hits from these foes despite having very solid bulk all around.

This isn't too bad tho btw.

*Having a Grass typing is essential for Poison teams, as it can reliably check problematic Ground-types such as Dugtrio, Hippowdon, and Mega Swampert through Giga Drain. I would also talk about it resisting Electric and Water, and you can also mention Thick Fat here minimizing its number of true weaknesses to act as an essential defensive tank.
*Like many defensive tanks, Mega Venusaur is rather slow and susceptible to faster offensive threats in Hydreigon and Mega Scizor. We run HP Fire to beat Mega Scizor, probably pick a better example. You could instead talk about it being susceptible to Taunt users like Hydreigon and x as they prevent it from being a reliable tank. Also, it's still somewhat susceptible to special wallbreakers.
*Using Synthesis can sometimes cause more harm than good, as its recovery is halved in weather conditions outside of sunlight. This is more of a moves section thing, not an overview thing.

However, Mega Venusaur must be careful to use Synthesis in different weather conditions, as its recovery is cut in half outside of sunlight. I would move the second sentence to usage tips, and I also wouldn't say to "be careful to use Synthesis" - rather to remember that it heals for less in the other weather conditions and to plan accordingly.
*Hidden Power Fire hits bulky Steel-types in Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Skarmory for solid damage, effectively preventing further hazard stacking or setup respectively. If you're going to say respectively, you need to change the order of your Pokemon as Skarmory doesn't set up.
*Leech Seed is another option that allows Mega Venusaur to gain passive recovery by sapping away at the foe's health. This option is very useful against its defensive checks such as Chansey and Celesteela.

To prevent damage from stacking up on Mega Venusaur, consider switching out to Toxapex and Crobat, as the former can heal off hazard damage with Regenerator, while the latter can remove hazard stacking through Defog. The second sentence doesn't really make sense. Are you telling people to switch to Toxapex instead of MVenu to absorb attacks as it can handle the hazards? The way it's written right now is saying to switch from Mega Venusaur to Toxapex because damage stacks up, which doesn't make sense.

Both of these teammates assist Mega Venusaur by pre-emptively stopping them, and can force many switches as a result. You need to clarify this statement with a little introduction why you need to do this. You can say that due to Mega Venusaur's somewhat passive nature, it can be setup fodder for Pokemon like X and X and to plan ahead by switching out to whatever relevant teammate.
*Because Mega Venusaur holds a Mega stone, it can be used to stop Trick users such as Gengar from switching an item with a teammate's item. I would rewrite this sentence to something like "Utilize Mega Venusaur to come in and block common Trick users like X and X who may attempt to switch items with its teammates like Crobat and Toxapex to inhibit their utility."
* Wary of taunt users

*Though Mega Venusaur is very bulky, it's susceptible to being worn down from hazards such as Spikes and Stealth Rock, which is especially noteworthy considering the low PP of Synthesis.
- maybe talk about clearing hazards before switching in mega venusaur if possible

- i feel like concealing its fourth move isnt that important in most scenarios maybe give an example of when concealing its fourth move can be useful if you're going to keep this bullet

*Mega Venusaur is Poison's best check and win condition against Ground teams, so do not send it out carelessly against every incoming Ground attack.
*Mega Venusaur must take caution when using Synthesis in different weather conditions, as its recovery is halved outside of sunlight.
*Against setup sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, it's ideal to switch into a foe teammate that can counteract them, such as Toxapex with Haze and Choice Scarf Nihilego. Both of these teammates assist Mega Venusaur by pre-emptively stopping them, and can force a switch many switches as a result.
*Utilize Mega Venusaur to come in and block common Trick users like Gengar that look to swap items with teammates like Crobat and Toxapex as it would inhibit their utility roles.
*Be cautious of Taunt users such as Aerodactyl and Hydreigon, as being taunted will restrict Mega Venusaur's ability to recover its health.
* talk about how it prefers to keep its health topped off before switching out so it can switch into attacks with more ease

Team Options
========

* Mega Venusaur - would talk about why its teammates appreciate its support. like the leech seed support, its ground-type neutrality, can threaten Pokemon such as Ferrothorn & scizor w/ hp fire

*Toxapex is a premier partner for Mega Venusaur, as its various forms of recovery and better resistance to Fire and Ice-type moves ease the pressure on Mega Venusaur to handle Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y and Kyurem-B. Toxapex's ability to spread various forms of status through Scald burns, Toxic Spikes, and Baneful Bunker help to lessen offensive setup while also crippling many grounded foes through Toxic Spikes. In return, Mega Venusaur offers an Electric resistance and a Ground neutrality for Toxapex.
- toxapex does not handle kyurem-b in the slightest bz earth power. also baneful bunker does not do anything to setup, it punishes physical attackers though and can scout choice locked pokemons attacks.

*Alolan Muk also compliments Mega Venusaur defensively, as its additional Dark typing and access to Knock Off and Pursuit make it a very potent presence against Psychic-types such as Latios and Dual Dance Mew that can become very threatening to Poison teams. In return, Mega Venusaur can pivot into Ground-types and physical attackers for Alolan Muk.
*Choice Scarf Nihilego is a solid revenge killer against Flying and Fire-types that threaten Mega Venusaur, such as Mega Charizard Y, Tornadus-T, and Volcarona.
*Nidoking is an offensive Stealth Rock user and general wallbreaker for Mega Venusaur, as various coverage options in Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, and Earth Power help to break Ground, Flying, and Steel-types respectively. In return, Mega Venusaur can come in on Water and Ice-type attacks that threaten Nidoking.
- this bullet you are talking about a lot of coverage with little examples, instead imo you should focus on its wallbreaking prowess like being able to 2HKO Mega Sableye which completely walls Mega Venusaur

*Crobat acts assists Mega Venusaur by acting as a Ground immunity and utility teammate, with options in Defog and Taunt to prevent hazard stacking, and U-turn to pivot out into another foe. Crobat can also help to check one of Mega Venusaur's biggest offensive checks in Mega Pinsir through Brave Bird.
- mention how Taunt can also help it beat walls

*Gengar acts as a check to problematic Psychic-types such as Mega Gallade and Victini, while also being able to spin block foes such as Torkoal and Armaldo, preventing hazard removal.
*Scolipede acts a setup sweeper for Mega Venusaur, being able to check common revenge killers such as Latios and Excadrill after a couple of Speed Boosts. It can also act as a potent win condition against Psychic teams, since gaining multiple Speed Boosts threaten common checks to Scolipede, such as Choice Scarf Victini, Choice Scarf Latios, Mega Latias, and others.

*Earthquake can be utilized over Hidden Power Fire to beat one of Mega Venusaur's biggest stops in Heatran. Outside of this purpose, there isn't much of a reason to use it since Mega Venusaur would have to utilize its subpar Attack stat.

**Wallbreakers**: Naturally powerful wallbreakers such as Kyurem-Black, Dragonite, Diggersby, Landorus, and Mega Charizard Y can easily wear down Mega Venusaur, as its meager recovery means that it cannot take consecutive hits from these foes despite having very solid bulk all around.

**Stallbreakers**: Common Stallbreakers in Mew, Heatran, Gliscor, and Crobat can prevent Mega Venusaur from recovering through Taunt, rendering its role as a tank useless for a short period of time.

**Setup Sweepers**: Calm Mind Mega Latias, Z-Conversion Porygon-Z, and Flyinium Z Gyarados are a few of the setup sweepers that can take advantage of, and overpower Mega Venusaur after one boost, as its lackluster offensive coverage can invite most of these foes safely.

With the combination of an excellent defensive typing and two decent forms of recovery, Mega Venusaur is an amazing defensive stop to many offensive and defensive foes alike, ranging from Tapu Koko, Celesteela, Toxapex, Mega Altaria, and Greninja bSome of these examples aren't the best Altaria may be easily handled by Mega Venusaur but mega alt is hardly a threat to Poison even with eq, Pex is just fishing for burn against mega venu and then it switches out maybe just keeping koko cele since they are by far the strongest examples. Thick Fat is a wonderful ability for Mega Venusaur, as it halves the damage taken from Fire and Ice-type moves Saying how the ability makes it a better wall is something that should be mentioned. Having a Grass typing is essential for Poison teams, as it can reliably check problematic Ground-types such as Dugtrio, Hippowdon, and Mega Swampert through Giga Drain. Like many defensive tanks, Mega Venusaur is rather slow and susceptible to faster offensive threats in stallbreaker Hydreigon and Dragonite. Although Mega Venusaur is meant to tank many hits, it can be easily worn down by chip damage from hazards and moves upon switching in. This is because its main recovery in Synthesis only has 8 PP, while its other option in Leech Seed only saps a small amount of health each turn and has a chance to miss the foe.

Giga Drain allows Mega Venusaur to gradually restore health upon use, and also hits Ground-types such as Hippowdon and Dugtrio. Sludge Bomb is primarily used to hit Grass and Fairy-types such as Breloom and Tapu Koko for super effective damage, though its high chance to poison is also beneficial to chip away at other defensive tanks such as Mantine, Mega Sableye, and Porygon2. Synthesis is Mega Venusaur's form of immediate recovery, as it heals half of its health each time. Hidden Power Fire hits bulky Steel-types in Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Mega Scizor for solid damage, effectively preventing further hazard stacking or setup respectively. Leech Seed is another option that allows Mega Venusaur to gain passive recovery by sapping away at the foe's health. This option is very useful against its defensive checks such as Chansey and Celesteela.

16 Speed is used on Mega Venusaur to speed creep Adamant Azumarill. The remaining EVs are placed into HP and Defense, coupled with a Bold nature to maximize Mega Venusaur's physical bulk while also having the chance to not be 2HKOed by Choice Scarf Victini's V-create. Venusaurite is the required item in order to use Mega Venusaur. Thick Fat is Mega Venusaur's only ability which allows it to halve damage from Fire and Ice-type moves. With the combination of an excellent defensive typing and two decent forms of recovery, Mega Venusaur is an amazing defensive stop to many offensive and defensive foes alike, ranging from Celesteela, (RC) to Greninja, (AC) and to Tapu Koko ("Ranging from" requires a "to"). Thick Fat is a wonderful ability for Mega Venusaur, as it halves the damage taken from Fire- and Ice-type moves and makes it a better wall as a result. Being a Grass-type is essential for Poison teams, as it can reliably check problematic Ground-types such as Dugtrio, Hippowdon, and Mega Swampert through Giga Drain. Like many defensive tanks, Mega Venusaur is rather slow and susceptible to faster offensive threats in Dragonite and stallbreaker (de-capitalized "S") Hydreigon. Although Mega Venusaur is meant to tank many hits, it can be worn down by chip damage from hazards and moves upon switching in. This is because its main recovery in Synthesis only has 8 PP, while its other option in Leech Seed only saps (nitpicky, but Leech Seed "saps" from the opponent and "heals" the user, which sounds kinda ambiguous here? Feel "heals" would resolve the possible ambiguity, but you might disagree) a small amount of health each turn and has a chance to miss the foe.

Giga Drain allows Mega Venusaur to gradually (It heals upon use, period. Gradual would be something that heals over time, e.g. Leech Seed) restore health upon use, and also hits Ground-types such as Hippowdon and Dugtrio. Sludge Bomb is primarily used to hit Grass- (Added hyphen) and Fairy-types such as Breloom and Tapu Koko for super effective damage, though its high chance to poison is also beneficial to chip away at other defensive tanks such as Mantine, Mega Sableye, and Porygon2. Synthesis is Mega Venusaur's main form of recovery, as it heals half of its health each time (I'm not going to pretend I know this meta, but are you saying weather is never used in Monotype, because unless that is true, this statement is untrue). Hidden Power Fire hits bulky Steel-types in Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Mega Scizor for solid damage, effectively preventing further hazard stacking or setup respectively. Leech Seed is another option that allows Mega Venusaur to gain passive recovery by sapping away at the foe's health and is very useful against its defensive checks such as Chansey and Celesteela.

16 Speed is used on Mega Venusaur (You repeat "Mega Venusaur" a lot in the following para, so removed this one - which I felt was the least useful iteration in the paragraph - to avoid repetition) to speed creep (I can't find info on this, but is "speed creep" acceptable terminology? Won't amend, since I'm unsure, though, but if it isn't go with "outspeeds".) Adamant Azumarill. The remaining EVs are placed into HP and Defense, (RC) and coupled with a Bold nature to maximize Mega Venusaur's physical bulk while also having the a chance to not be 2HKOed by Choice Scarf Victini's V-create. Venusaurite is the required item in order to use Mega Venusaur. Thick Fat is Mega Venusaur's only ability, (AC) which allows it to halve damage from Fire- (Added hyphen) and Ice-type moves. Chlorophyll is the preferred ability on regular Venusaur, as its Speed and Synthesis recovery are boosted under sunlight.

Usage Tips

It's (Not gonna change, since it is subjective, but honestly feel "It is" just sounds better overall.) ideal to Mega Evolve Venusaur immediately, as it gains the defensive capabilities of Thick Fat, (AC) which allows Mega Venusaur to take on many Fire- and Ice-type attacks. Use Sludge Bomb and Leech Seed whenever possible, as they both gradually chip away at the foe through poison damage and health sapping respectively. Leech Seed has the additional benefit of giving weakened teammates like Nidoking and Nihilego extra health, so it is possible to switch them in on an expected defensive option (I have no idea what you mean by "defensive option" - I imagine you mean some kind of move based on the context, but it'd be good to clarify since it is super ambiguous). Though Mega Venusaur is very bulky, it's susceptible to being worn down from (Not going to change here, since I have nothing but a gut feel, but after reading this ten times, I can't get over how "from" sounds weird here, and that "by" belongs, but just making this comment as a suggestion as I'm pretty sure "from" technically works here too) hazards such as Spikes and Stealth Rock, which is especially noteworthy considering the low PP of Synthesis. If possible, Defog hazards away before sending Mega Venusaur in. Mega Venusaur is Poison's best check and win condition against Ground teams, so do not send it out carelessly against every incoming Ground-type attack. Mega Venusaur must take caution when using Synthesis in different weather conditions, as its recovery is halved outside of sunlight. (It heals 1/4 in weather conditions outside of sun, 2/3 in sun, and 1/2 normally, so this is an ambiguous phrasing, maybe change the sentence to "... different weather conditions, as its recovery is reduced in rain, sandstorm, and hail.") Against setup sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, it's ideal to switch into a teammate that can counteract them, such as Toxapex with Haze and Choice Scarf Nihilego. Both of these teammates assist Mega Venusaur by pre-emptively stopping them, and can force a switch as a result. Utilize Mega Venusaur to come in and block common Trick users like Gengar that look to swap items with teammates like Crobat and Toxapex, (AC) as it would inhibit their utility roles. Be cautious of Taunt users such as Aerodactyl and Hydreigon, as being taunted will restrict Mega Venusaur's ability to recover its health. It is ideal to have Mega Venusaur as healthy as possible in order for it to tank hits.

Team Options
========

Toxapex is a premier partner for Mega Venusaur, as its various forms of recovery and better resistance to Fire and Ice-type moves ease the pressure on Mega Venusaur to handle Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y and Kyurem-B (I mean, unless it foregoes Fusion Bolt for some dumb reason, I don't really see how Toxapex handles Kyu-B well. Unless this is some meta-specific thing I don't know about.). Toxapex's ability to spread various forms of status through Scald burns, Toxic Spikes, and Baneful Bunker punishes physical attackers constantly. Baneful Bunker also allows Toxapex to scout options from common Choice- (Added hyphen)locked (capitalized "C") foes in Tapu Koko and Latios, then makes the appropriate switch to a teammate. In return, Mega Venusaur offers an Electric resistance and a Ground neutrality for Toxapex. Alolan Muk also compliements Mega Venusaur defensively, as its additional Dark typing and access to Knock Off and Pursuit make it a very potent presence against Psychic-types such as Latios and Dual Dance Mew, (RC) that otherwise become very threatening to Poison teams. In return, Mega Venusaur can pivot into Ground-types and physical attackers for Alolan Muk. Choice Scarf Nihilego is a solid revenge killer against Flying- (Added hyphen) and Fire-types that threaten Mega Venusaur, (RC) such as Mega Charizard Y, Tornadus-T, and Volcarona. Nidoking can support Mega Venusaur as is an offensive Stealth Rock user and general (what exactly is a general wallbreaker?) wallbreaker for Mega Venusaur (reshuffled a bit, as Nidoking doesn't exactly wallbreak for M-Venu so much, but it supports Venu by so doing), as its sheer (presume you're not referring to the ability Sheer Force here, so the "sheer" should not lead with capital "S") power and vast coverage options helps to 2OHKO defensive walls in Mega Sableye and Celesteela. In return, Mega Venusaur can come in on Water- and Ice-type attacks that threaten Nidoking. Crobat assists Mega Venusaur by acting as a Ground immunity and utility teammate, with options in Defog and Taunt to prevent hazard stacking, and U-turn to pivot out into another foe teammates (One pivots out of foes and into teammates. Alternatively, you probably can just say "U-turn for momentum (and chip)", or something like that). Crobat can also check Mega Pinsir, (AC) one of Mega Venusaur's biggest offensive checks, (AC) in Mega Pinsir (the syntax read a bit weirdly, so shuffled for clarity and flow) through Brave Bird, and use Taunt to prevent hazard stacking and recovery from Ferrothorn and Chansey. Gengar acts as a check to problematic Psychic-types such as Mega Gallade and Victini, (RC) while also being able to spinblock block (Spinblock is one word) foes such as Torkoal and Armaldo, preventing hazard removal ("Preventing hazard removal" is somewhat obvious from the mention of "spinblock", so I don't know if this is really necessary?). Scolipede acts a setup sweeper for Mega Venusaur, being able to check common revenge killers such as Latios and Excadrill after a couple of Speed Boosts. It can also act as a potent win condition against Psychic teams, since gaining multiple Speed Boosts threaten common checks to Scolipede, (RC) such as Choice Scarf Victini, Choice Scarf Latios, and Mega Latias, and others ("Such as" implies giving examples, but not a definitive list, so there is no need to add "and others"). SubToxic Salazzle is a niche teammate that uses it' (remove apostrophe)s unique ability, Corrosion, to poison and stall out Poison and Steel-types such as opposing (Presumably you're not going to be poisoning and stalling out your teammates, so "opposing" is redundant here) Toxapex, Mega Venusaur, Heatran, and Celesteela.

Against setup sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, it's ideal to switch into to a teammate that can counteract them, such as Haze Toxapex with Haze and or Choice Scarf Nihilego. Both of these teammates assist Mega Venusaur by pre-emptively preemptively stopping them (RC) and can force a switch as a result. Utilize Mega Venusaur to come in and block common Trick users like Gengar that look to swap items with teammates like Crobat and Toxapex, as it would inhibit their utility roles. Be cautious of Taunt users such as Aerodactyl and Hydreigon, as being taunted they will restrict Mega Venusaur's ability to recover its health. It is ideal to have Mega Venusaur as healthy as possible in order for it to tank hits.

Toxapex is a premier partner for Mega Venusaur, as its various forms of recovery and better resistance to Fire- (AH) and Ice-type moves ease the pressure on Mega Venusaur to handle Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y and Kyurem-B. Toxapex's ability to spread various forms of status through Scald burns, Toxic Spikes, and Baneful Bunker punishes physical attackers constantly. Baneful Bunker also allows Toxapex to scout options from common Choice-locked foes in Tapu Koko and Latios (RC) then and make the appropriate switch to a teammate. Nidoking can support Mega Venusaur as an offensive Stealth Rock user and wallbreaker, as its sheer power and vast coverage options help to 2HKO defensive walls in Mega Sableye and Celesteela. In return, Mega Venusaur can come in on Water- and Ice-type attacks that threaten Nidoking. Crobat assists Mega Venusaur by acting as providing a Ground immunity and acting as a utility teammate, with options in Defog and Taunt to prevent hazard stacking, and U-turn to pivot into out to teammates. Crobat can also check Mega Pinsir, one of Mega Venusaur's biggest offensive checks, through Brave Bird (RC) and use Taunt to prevent hazard stacking and recovery from Ferrothorn and Chansey. Gengar acts as a check to problematic Psychic-types such as Mega Gallade and Victini while also being able to spinblock foes such as Torkoal and Armaldo, which is very important for taking on Fire- and Bug-types, (AC) as these Pokemon are their primary form of hazard control. Scolipede acts a setup sweeper for Mega Venusaur, being able to that can check common revenge killers such as Latios and Excadrill after a couple of Speed boosts (RC) It can also as well as act as a potent win condition cleaner against Psychic teams, since gaining multiple Speed Boosts it can threaten common checks to Scolipede it after multiple Speed boosts, such as Choice Scarf Victini, Choice Scarf Latios, and Mega Latias. SubToxic Salazzle is a niche teammate that uses its unique ability, Corrosion, to poison and stall out Poison- (AH) and Steel-types such as Toxapex, Mega Venusaur, Heatran, and Celesteela.

**Offensive Flying-types**: Offensive Flying-types such as Mega Pinsir and Tornadus-T threaten Mega Venusaur with their Flying-type STAB attacks.

(AH)

Also, although Mega Venusaur is meant to tank many hits, it can be worn down by chip damage from entry hazards and moves upon switching in. This is because its main recovery in Synthesis only has 8 PP, while its other option in Leech Seed only heals a small amount of health each turn and has a chance to miss the foe.

Moves

Set Details

16 Speed EVs are used to Speed creep Adamant Azumarill. The remaining EVs are placed into HP and Defense and coupled with a Bold nature to maximize Mega Venusaur's physical bulk while also giving it a chance to not be 2HKOed by avoid the 2HKO from Choice Scarf Victini's V-create. Venusaurite is the required item in order to use Mega Venusaur. Thick Fat is Mega Venusaur's only ability, which allows it to halveing damage from Fire- and Ice-type moves.

Usage Tips
========

Against setup sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, it's ideal to switch to a teammate that can counteract (don't really counteract Pokemon) them, such as Haze Toxapex or Choice Scarf Nihilego.
