Megas For All: V4! (Voting - Lickilicky, Togekiss, Dusknoir)

Would you guys be interested if I had MFA include Gen 8 mons when it comes out?

Damn, not a lot of good submissions this slate...

Chesnaught: -Latios-, Demon Dragon, superstrike66
Delphox: MegaFlareon, Demon Dragon, Bmw6446
Greninja: superstrike66, Demon Dragon, Failure999 (did not like many Greninja submissions as almost all had Protean with similar stats)
Also, new slate idea:
Fallen Heroes (previous OU mons in Gen 1 that are now trash): Golem, Exeggutor, Tauros
So like a "Gen 1 kings" slate?
Yeah, pretty much.

Damn, didn't see that, although it was quite clear. Sorry, i think work's getting on my nerves :facepalm:
I'll turn it into my voting post. Thanks for the heads up, i'd have missed that completely

Hey, quick question, what are the self-voting rules again and do you have to have three votes per poke? Just curious b/c the OP isn't really clear.

Thanks, and can we please get more votes? I’d hate to see this thread die b/c it is my favorite pet mod and there are still so many pokes left.

Hey, I think you made a mistake in voting. I counted up the votes and my Chesnught actually tied with Latios's, so I think there should be a tiebreaker vote.
Anyway, onto my subs!

Hitmonlee-Mega
Ability: Limber, Reckless, Unburden ----> Reckless
Typing: Fighting -----> Fighting/Electric

Stats:
HP: 50 ----> 50 (0)
Attack: 120 ----> 170 (+50)
Defense: 53 ----> 70 (+17)
Special Attack: 35 ----> 30 (-5)
Special Defense: 110 ----> 110 (0)
Speed: 87 ----> 125 (+38)
Base Stat Total: 455 ----> 555
Movepool Additions: Volt Tackle, Gunk Shot
Description: Hitmonlee becomes charged with electric energy and can now deliver more powerful kicks at lightning-fast speed. Hitmonlee's new Electric-type now allows Hitmonlee to hit Flying-types and bulky Waters hard with a new Reckless-boosted STAB Volt Tackle (I opted for it over Wild Charge because Volt Tackle needs better distribution). Gunk Shot also allows Hitmonlee to nail Fairy-types that could otherwise switch in on a HJK. In short, this is a very powerful wallbreaker that could terrorize OU, whose only low points are middling bulk and a heavy reliance on recoil moves.

Hitmonchan-Mega
Ability: Inner Focus, Iron Fist, Keen Eye ----> Brass Knuckles (all punching moves are Super Effective against Fairy types)
Typing: Fighting -----> Fighting/Steel

Stats:
HP: 50 ----> 50 (0)
Attack: 105 ----> 135 (+30)
Defense: 79 ----> 125 (+46)
Special Attack: 35 ----> 30 (-5)
Special Defense: 110 ----> 140 (+30)
Speed: 76 ----> 75 (-1)
Base Stat Total: 455 ----> 555
Movepool Additions: Meteor Mash, Knock Off
Description: Hitmonchan's fists have hardened into steel, allowing its punches to hit new levels of power and bust through Fairy-types. With Mega Hitmonchan's added Steel-typing, it now makes for a better check to Fairy-types and now allows it to hit them hard with its Fighting-type punch moves. Meteor Mash was added b/c it needed another Steel STAB other than Bullet Punch and Knock Off allows it to cripple many walls reliant on items as well. Great Pokemon to handle the influx of Fairies in OU.

Hitmontop-Mega
Ability: Intimidate, Steadfast, Technician ----> Intimidate
Typing: Fighting -----> Fighting/Dark

Stats:
HP: 50 ----> 50 (0)
Attack: 95 ----> 120 (+25)
Defense: 95 ----> 135 (+40)
Special Attack: 35 ----> 30 (-5)
Special Defense: 110 ----> 130 (+20)
Speed: 70 ----> 90 (+20)
Base Stat Total: 455 ----> 555
Movepool Additions: Knock Off, Parting Shot
Description: Double Intimidate boyz! Hitmontop has resorted to dirty tactics to ensure that his opponent could never beat him with physical force, and so far, he's managed to cause many physical attackers to hit like a wet tissue. This would make an amazing support mega with the ability to just halve a Pokemon's attack when it first comes out, then lower it even more with Parting Shot! Knock Off also makes sure that your item will not protect you from the antics this poke will cause. Bring out your special Fairies, guys, cuz he will rip your hair out if you have any physical attackers. Oh wait, Parting Shot lowers Special Attack too? MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! >:D

Eyyy, Hitmontrio! I actually was going to request this, but I didn't, and yet here it is!

New Moves: Agility, Hone Claws, Power Trip
Description: Hitmonlee has access to more Dark moves than any others in the Hitmon-trio, but its REAL bonus is its already high Special Defense stat. Since the only Physical Fairy move in a Mega scenario is Play Rough, a Fairy double-weakness is really no threat at all. However, with a pitifully low Defense stat, an Ability that allows it to abuse Superpower (learned only by Hitmonlee, because it has the highest Atk and lowest Def of the Hitmon-trio, so to lower both is really sad). It already knows Poison Jab to fend off Fairy types. By standard pattern, Contrary Pokémon have a maximum of 2 powerful attacks that lower the user's stats, and this follows that rule. Clearly, though, the addition of Agility and/or Hone Claws is to be used while it is Limber. Maybe Power Trip is a little pushing the envelope...? If so, swap it with Beat Up.

New Moves: Beat Up, Dizzy Punch, Hammer Arm, Arm Thrust
Description: The Ability, in short, is Parental Bond with Boxing flavor. This prevents abuse of Close Combat, but otherwise it doesn't have many different qualities from Kangaskhan besides WAY lower HP, making it a viable candidate for a similar Ability. FYI Beat Up and Arm Thrust are not Punch-based attacks. It does not need Sucker Punch, because that is not actually a Punch-based move, or boosted by Iron Fist. Had to give all three of these some Special boost because, well, the original two can learn Focus Blast. I decided not to grant this one Power Trip because that would be over-the-top bad, thanks to double boosts received from Power-Up Punch. Considering how it doesn't have Scrappy at all, and how a majority of its attacks are Normal- and Fighting-type, the Ability is more than appropriate; it's the salt on your grits. Without it, Hitmonchan is just a Poképun of Jackie Chan; with it, he can dwell among the OU8 Champions without facing the threat of being drafted for Uberweight.

New Moves: Pursuit, Bulldoze, Bounce
Description: I was considering giving it Dancer, since it's a Bboy, but... since it's the most defensive of the Hitmon-trio, it will enjoy abusing Close Combat and stacking its defenses! I feel that Contrary is appropriate for flavor reasons, since Hitmontop is often depicted doing headspins. Overusing Mud Slap can't be a problem with this level of bulk. The addition of Pursuit allows its meh-high ATK to prioritize against targets trying to switching out after receiving the effect of Intimidation. Ground adds some flavor, breakdancers are often on the ground, but they also can jump, so I added Bounce. Ground typing adds great STAB, since Hitmontop knows more Ground-type moves than other types besides Normal. Never mind new weaknesses, high Special Defense allows Hitmontop to take hits from super-effective moves that are typically Special Attacks, such as Water, Psychic, Fairy, and Grass. Why use a Mega for a Bulky Pivot in OU? Don't waste your Mega stones, it's not worth it. :1

EDIT: I'm gonna dump this here to explain the flavor and competitive decisions for these megas just because. Oh yeah and feel free to use that template for megas if you'd like.

  • Hitmonlee-Mega achieves blazing speeds, hence the Fire-type. Maintaining Reckless, Mega Hitmonlee can abuse Flare Blitz. It maintains its role as the fastest of the three, and it received the highest speed boost as well.
  • Competitively, Mega Hitmonlee would abuse its high 127 base speed. It outspeeds Greninja, Tornadus-Therian, and many more. With Reckless, Hitmonlee can use High Jump Kick and Flare Blitz, punching through even resists.
  • Hitmonlee-Mega is the most frail of the trio, meaning it can get revenge killed by Pokemon like Scarf Landorus, Scarf Lele, Greninja-Ash, Tapu Koko, Alakazam-Mega, etc.
  • Hitmonchan-Mega becomes surrounded in a dark energy and it grows a third arm! The arm extends out of its back and hunches over Hitmonchan's head. The hand, thematically, would be a surprise tactic in battle, hence Sucker Punch. Ridding Hitmonchan of Iron Fist removes its theme in my eyes.
  • Hitmonchan-Mega is the most specially bulky. With a moderately high attacking stat, Mega Hitmonchan can punch holes with its solid offensive typing and plethora of coverage options.
  • Hitmontop-Mega becomes laced in a steel-coating, truly harnessing the concept of being a top. Its ability, Accelerate, mimics the properties of a real top. Tops, as they make contact, increase in speed and impact. They also inherently become harder to predict, as the movement gets sporadic. Accelerate is the culmination of this idea, as the speed and attack increase. Special defense falling represents how sporadic a top can get.
  • This ability, Accelerate, benefits Hitmontop's offensive side. It's lacking in the offensive department with high defenses to compensate (so it's not broken). Mega Top can act as a utility Pokemon with access to Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock, or simply use this moves in a more offensive variant.

Just going to throw this out here now. If you add more than 2 new moves or add an ability over the minimum, be very careful that those don't break the mon in question.

I've added reasons / descriptions for my megas in my original post for anyone curious on why I did what I did. Also, do feel free to use the template I use if you'd like. :psyglad:

Hitmonlee-Mega
Ability: Limber / Reckless / Unburden ----> No Guard
Typing: Fighting/Normal

Stats:

HP: 50 ----> 50
Attack: 120 ----> 150 (+30)
Defense: 53 ----> 73 (+20)
Special Attack: 35 ----> 35
Special Defense: 110 ----> 120 (+10)
Speed: 87 ----> 127 (+40)
Base Stat Total: 455 ----> 555
Movepool Additions: Gunk Shot
Description: Mega Hitmonlee's kicks are so fast, they never miss. With High Jump Kick, Mega Kick, Stone Edge, and Gunk Shot in its movepool, it really takes advantage of its No Guard ability. Hitmonlee also gets a massive speed boost, making it less reliant on priority and more focused on using its high-powered moves. Knock Off allows it to punish Ghost-types, the only ones able to safely switch in to its STAB moves. Hitmonlee now gains STAB on Fake Out, which lets it chip opponents away a bit harder.

Hitmonchan-Mega
Ability: Keen Eye, Iron Fist, Inner Focus ----> Iron Fist
Typing: Fighting/Ice

Stats:

HP: 50 ----> 50
Attack: 105 ----> 135 (+30)
Defense: 79 ----> 109 (+30)
Special Attack: 35 ----> 35
Special Defense: 110 ----> 120 (+10)
Speed: 76 ----> 106 (+30)
Base Stat Total: 455 ----> 555
Movepool Additions: Ice Hammer, Hammer Arm
Description: Ice/Fighting is a great offensive STAB combo. Ice Hammer is an Iron Fist-boosted move that hits usual Fighting checks such as Landorus-T and Mega Pinsir hard. 106 Speed lets it outspeed wallbreakers such a M-Pinsir and M-Medicham and it has enough physical bulk to take priority.

Hitmontop-Mega
Ability: Intimidate/Technician/Steadfast ----> Fluffy
Typing: Fighting/Steel

Stats:

HP: 50 ----> 50
Attack: 95 ----> 125 (+30)
Defense: 95 ----> 135 (+40)
Special Attack: 35 ----> 55 (+20)
Special Defense: 110 ----> 120 (+10)
Speed: 70 ----> 70
Base Stat Total: 455 ----> 555
Movepool Additions: Pain Split
Description: The most defensive member of the trio, Hitmontop gains fluffy hair and metallic limbs. Fluffy + high defenses (and Intimidate pre-mega!) lets it wall a lot of Pokemon, which is boosted by a great secondary defensive typing in Steel. Pain Split is a recovery move that synergizes well with its low HP. Its only downsides are its somewhat low Speed and double weakness to Fire.

Mega Hitmonlee
Ability:
Clear Body
HP: 50
Atk: 120 ---> 135 (+15)
Def: 53 ---> 70 (+17)
SpA: 35 ---> 38 (+3)
SpD: 110 ---> 70 (-40)
Spe: 87 ---> 192 (+105)
Weight: 3.7 kg

New Moves: Shadow Claw, Night Slash
Description: I thought that Hitmonlee should deserve his Unburden powers still. Though annoyingly, Mega Stones prevent this. How do I fix it? Obvious, raise his base speed to match Unburden's speed. Give him some O.K. moves with a tiny power boost, and pretty good STAB: boom, perfection. So, normal Hitmonlee. But now he has a little more power. I don't see the issue.
