[OVERVIEW]

With base 100 stats across the board and an expansive movepool that includes the rare Transform, Mew is a flexible supporter with an immense ability to pressure foes that also can be tailored specifically to a team's needs. Mew's combination of bulk and speed paired with access to a plethora of support moves, such as Fake Out, Tailwind, Trick Room, and Taunt, makes it quite the versatile support pick, and its expansive coverage can allow it to check super effective targets on an as-needed basis, such as using Ice Beam for opposing Zygarde and Landorus-T or Overheat for opposing Steel-types. More importantly, Mew is the only viable user of Transform, an all-purpose support tool in the sense that it is primarily useful to apply huge pressure by Transforming into a boosted partner such as Dragon Dance Zygarde or Mega Salamence. However, Mew is held back by its lack of specialization and its Psychic typing, rather bland for a support Pokemon; if its access to Transform is unnecessary, there are generally better picks, such as Zapdos for setting Tailwind. Mew also doesn't provide much offensive pressure and can often find itself draining momentum once it has used its particular speed control move.

Moves
========

Transform lets Mew turn into a copy of its target, stat changes and all, letting it apply pressure if used on a boosted Pokemon; this is often used in conjunction with setup sweeper partners, but it can also be used in certain situations on an as-needed basis, such as Transforming into a particular opposing Pokemon like Amoonguss in order to temporarily take advantage of their utility. Fake Out allows Mew to provide chances for partners to set up, posturing for a possible Transform on later turns, and in general is useful for taking momentum. Tailwind provides speed control, providing teammates the speed advantage. Ice Beam is used to hit the common Landorus-T and Zygarde for super effective damage. Trick Room can be used instead for slower teams; if this is used, one should remember to use a Speed-lowering nature, 0 Speed IVs, and no EV investment in Speed.

Set Details
========

The EV spread with a Timid nature allows Mew to outspeed maximum Speed base 95 Pokemon such as Tapu Lele and Kyurem-B and guarantee an OHKO on uninvested Landorus-T with Ice Beam. Maximum HP investment is used in order to maximize bulk as well as take full advantage of Transform opportunities, with HP being the only stat to carry over post-Transform. Aguav Berry provides Mew with burst recovery. If a Trick Room variant is being used, an EV spread of 252 HP / 80 Def / 28 SpA / 148 SpD with a Sassy nature and 0 Speed IVs is recommended; this makes Mega Metagross's Iron Head only a 4HKO, with the Berry coming into play, while maximizing Special Defense.

Usage Tips
========

Mew, when it's not yet aiming to Transform, can be useful for providing general utility with Fake Out and its choice of speed control. However, when the opportunity arises and you have a boosted setup sweeper such as Dragon Dance Zygarde ready, Mew can Transform to double the pressure that you apply. It is also worth noting that Transform works even if the target uses Protect, so Mew can safely use Transform without its partner at risk. Situationally, Mew can also Transform into specific Pokemon, including opposing ones, for particular benefits; for example, Mew can Transform into an opposing Amoonguss in order to gain the ability to redirect attacks and take advantage of Regenerator, or it can transform into an opposing Landorus-T to trigger Intimidate and check the same Landorus-T that it Transformed into. If the opponent is weak to your particular setup sweeper, make sure to conserve Mew's health, as it can give you a second shot at sweeping should the original Pokemon faint.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that can set up allow Mew to fully take advantage of its ability to Transform, with Dragon Dance Zygarde and Mega Salamence being good picks as well as Swords Dance Mega Scizor and Belly Drum Azumarill. Considering Mew packs Ice Beam, Pokemon that appreciate Landorus-T quickly removed make for fine teammates; for example, your own Landorus-T and Zygarde can take advantage of opposing Landorus-T being KOed, with the latter also being able to sweep unhindered. Checks to opposing Dark- and Ghost-types are also viable picks, as Mew can find itself harassed by them pre-Transform; Incineroar and Scrafty can both deal with them specifically while also chipping in with Fake Outs of their own along with Intimidate. Other supportive Pokemon are also good to have in order to provide additional support for the boosters Mew should be paired with; again, Incineroar and Scrafty both provide a package of Intimidate and Fake Out, while Amoonguss provides nifty redirection. Note, however, that you should take care in adding too much supportive Pokemon, as this would risk making your team too passive. Tapu Fini is a particularly notable Pokemon to pair Mew with, as its access to Heal Pulse allows it to support other boosting teammates and Mew post-Transform; alternatively, Tapu Fini can become a Transform target of its own if running a Calm Mind set.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Overheat allows Mew to swiftly take out Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Genesect by surprise as they expect to wreak havoc unimpeded, making Mew a handy lure for these kinds of threats. Super Fang gives Mew an option to dent any target it so chooses, while Knock Off can be useful to remove annoying items such as Berries and Assault Vests on key targets. Aurora Veil is an option in a team with Mega Abomasnow in order to have an easier time boosting and lets Mew function as an alternative to Alolan Ninetales. Ally Switch allows Mew to force some mind games with regards to positioning, eliciting predictions and helping in preserving teammates. Stealth Rock is generally useful for the chip damage that it can rack up, which can be useful for quicker sweeps and easier picks. Taunt can stop opposing setup if need be, while Helping Hand can allow Mew to put in some offensive pressure without actually Transforming. U-turn can be nice for pivoting out of unfavorable matchups and generally maintaining momentum.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ghost-types**: Aegislash and Mega Gengar can't be hit by Fake Out and deal hefty damage to Mew, with the latter being capable of picking it off with trapping in Shadow Tag.

**Dark-types**: Hoopa and Tyranitar can smack Mew with their respective STAB moves, while Incineroar and Scrafty can deal notable damage with Knock Off and, more importantly, remove Mew's Berry.

**Steel-types**: Mega Metagross, Celesteela, Aegislash, Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Genesect can generally come in and do their work unabated unless Mew carries the niche option of Overheat.

**Redirection**: Rage Powder and Follow Me limit options considerably, as they can prevent Mew from Transforming into its desired target, with Amoonguss in particular being quite a notable redirector.

**Taunt**: If Taunted, Mew becomes a liability on the field, as it becomes unable to do anything significant other than firing off weak coverage moves.

written, made some edits on the content here and there with updates and stuff.

i made the new tr spread on the fly as that had Marsh as a benchmark, feel free to suggest a new one.

still on qc bois

- the mark of the memoric analysis is always 5+ uses of the word nifty lmfao
- specify Lele as the benchmark for the base 95 speed tier
- Azu's a good partner that has seen recentish success
- I think TTar is a much better partner in theory than in practice. It still gets harassed by Aegislash and Scrafty, two prominent mons of the types you mention, and it's annoyed pretty bad by Intimidate. It lacks either the ability to completely shrug off Intimidate (Azu/rip Lax) or almost always hit for solid neutral damage (Zygarde, rock's resisted by a lot). I would remove TTar, shrink this section to just Incineroar/Scrafty and move this down in the team options section. Most successful Mew teams use more subtle ways of dealing with Ghosts and Darks and rarely have a slot like this anyway.
- ally switch does ally switch things and should be mentioned in OO
- I'd like the phrase "limits options" specifically to be added to the redirection tag. Mew's flexibility is one of its strong suits. you mention opposing amoonguss earlier on as a good transform target, so i think this makes the downside of redirection more explicit to players who may be unfamiliar with using transform style teams.
- the end of the "taunt" section sounds a bit too positive for how bad Mew gets crippled by Taunt. Hitting super effective targets sounds preeeeeeetttyyy good to me. Would prefer this reworded to something like "other than fire off weak coverage moves"

2/2 great work as always
