[SET COMMENTS]

* Milotic's enormous Defense, boosted through Marvel Scale and Flame Orb, allows it to serve as a potent physical wall that can be used to successfully deter various sweepers from setting up.

* Icy Wind provides speed control and reasonable complementary coverage alongside Scald.

* Haze allows Milotic to reset setup sweepers, such as Snorlax, Mimikyu, and Togekiss, helping anchor teams weak to such threats.

* Mirror Coat provides a surprise counter to Pokemon such as Choice Specs Rotom-W, which would otherwise be able to handily defeat Milotic with special coverage.

* Flame Orb is used to boost Milotic's Defense alongside its ability Marvel Scale, sacrificing HP each turn for a significant Defense increase. The self burn also allows it to absorb status-inducing moves, such as Yawn, for its teammates.

EV Spreads
=============

* 164 HP / 252 Def / 28 SpA / 4 SpD / 60 Spe with a Bold nature: Milotic's main spread has Speed investment to outspeed Mimikyu after Icy Wind, allowing Milotic to reset Swords Dance boosts and Max Phantasm Defense drops with Haze.

* 244 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA / 4 SpD / 4 Spe with a Bold nature: This spread has more HP investment for greater overall bulk.

General Team Options
=================

Milotic is fantastic at forcing out physical attackers, such as Excadrill, as well soaking up status-inducing moves. Pair Milotic with Pokemon that appreciate these unique traits, as well as Fire- and Grass-types that provide good complementary type coverage.

* Fire-types: :rotom-heat: :cinderace: :incineroar:
* Grass-types: :ferrothorn: :rotom-mow:
* Pokemon that are Weak to Physical Threats: :sylveon: :toxtricity: :mimikyu:
* Status-weak Pokemon: :snorlax: :tyranitar: :togekiss:

Given that Flame Orb Milotic is a distinctly BSS thing I'd briefly explain it, especially since there's there's no mention of why we use it. It might be clear to us that the defense boost with Marvel Scale and guarding against other worse status makes this a good item choice, but someone newer might be confused why we actively use this on a Pokemon that wants to wall stuff.

I'd also be a little careful with calling the primary spread "standard" since it's not a trend I noticed on older teams, mostly on the newer ones. Not that I have any issues with this being the main spread though, just nitpicky about calling it "standard" especially since Milotic itself isn't exactly super common.

Straightforward enough otherwise though, not exactly a top meta threat but it's something I hope to see explored more in the future. QC 2/2

Expanding on the above post, I know this is obvious as someone who plays BSS but I think mentioning Yawn by name in the "status absorbing" role is quite important because no other metagame sees as much frequent use of this move - and you are able to switch in and nullify the move without having to previously activate the Orb. Absorbing Yawn has a crucial role in Milotic's matchup against the overall metagame.

final GP yay! It has been a pleasure working with you :blobthumbsup: . Expect more post-DLC.

1_TrickPhony I want to take another look, so I'm not yet giving the 1/1. Notify me once done.

* Milotic's enormous Defense, boosted through Marvel Scale and Flame Orb, allows it to serve as a potent physical wall that can be used to successfully deter various sweepers from setting up successfully through a combination (of what? alternatively, you can nuke this bit too).

* Icy Wind allows Milotic to provide Speed provides speed control and provides reasonable complementary coverage alongside Scald.

* Haze allows Milotic to reset setup sweepers, such as Snorlax, Mimikyu, and Togekiss, helping anchor teams weak to such threats.

* Mirror Coat provides a surprise counter to Pokemon such as Choice Specs Rotom (which?), who which would otherwise be able to handily defeat Milotic on the special side due to its less competent special bulk.

* Flame Orb is used to boost Milotic's Defense alongside its ability Marvel Scale, sacrificing incremental (incremental is different) HP each turn for significant defense increase. The self burn also allows it to absorb status-inducing (AH) moves, such as Yawn, protecting its teammates from status moves.
