Mix and Mega Ban-Happy Tournament

Mix and Mega Ban-Happy Tournament

Welcome to the Mix and Mega Ban-happy tournament, this is a tournament where you can choose to ban one ability, pokemon, item or move!

So whenever you sign up, you can include one pokemon, item (excluding mega stones), ability or move that you would like to get banned. Don't pick multiple things to ban. You're free to ban almost anything at all, but keep in mind that some bans might be less useful or interesting than others, like banning Zygarde even though Extreme Speed and Thousand Arrows are banned. At the end of each round, you will be able to choose an additional ban.

Tournament Rules
  • This is exclusively an SuMo Mix and Mega tournament.
  • General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
  • Best of 3 | Single Elimination
  • Battles should take place on the Main or Smogtours servers.
  • Do not make baseless activity posts, get in contact with your opponent and report missed times / scheduling issues only.
Mix and Mega Rules:
  • Mix-and-Mega is an Ubers-based metagame that allows you to use any Mega Stone (or Orb) on any fully-evolved Pokémon
  • When that Pokémon then Mega Evolves or undergoes Primal Reversion, it undergoes the same stat modifications that the original user of that Mega Stone/Orb does, along with its ability and any type changes that the Mega Evolved/Primal Reversion form has compared to the base species.
  • You may Mega Evolve any number of Pokemon on the same team
  • If you use Red/Blue Orb, the transformation occurs instantly upon switch-in
  • If you use a Mega Stone or Orb that gives you a secondary typing that's the same as your primary typing, you no longer have a secondary typing (ie: Red Orb Charizard)
  • A Mega Stone or Orb cannot in any way removed from its holder if the holder can Mega Evolve/Primal Revert with it, regardless of whether the holder is the "correct" species or not
  • If a Pokémon with multiple Formes that it can change between mid-battle Mega Evolves, it reverts to its original form before transforming.
  • Clauses: Ubers Clauses, Mega Stone / Orb Clause (only one of each stone on a team)
  • General Bans: Baton Pass, Electrify, Shadow Tag
  • Banned Stones: Beedrillite, Blazikenite, Gengarite, Kangaskhanite, Mawilite, Medichamite, Pidgeotite
  • Pokemon that can't Mega Evolve: Arceus, Deoxys-A, Deoxys-N, Deoxys-S, Dialga, Dragonite, Giratina, Groudon*, Ho-Oh, Kyogre*, Kyurem-Black, Kyurem-White, Lugia, Lunala, Marshadow, Mewtwo*, Necrozma-Dawn-Wings*, Necrozma-Dusk-Mane*, Palkia, Pheromosa, Rayquaza, Regigigas, Reshiram, Slaking, Solgaleo, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zekrom, Zygarde with Power Construct.

    * indicates that this Pokémon is still permitted to hold native Mega Stones.

A more detailed explanation of the mechanics may be found here: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/mix-and-mega.3587740/

Apparently, there has been some confusion, so here's a clarification: Banning of abilities only bans what ability they come into the battle with, not the post-mega ability. Otherwise, it would violate the rule that mega stones cannot be banned.
