Hey losers, it's Tox, and this will be my first SM Rarelyused RMT, and what better timing than when this tier will be obsolete in two months! :] Today I'm showcasing some Sun HEAT (pun intended). I've found Sun to be the most viable weather, with access to great setters in Torkoal and Ninetales and some of the best abusers in Venusaur, Victreebel, Exeggutor, Shiftry, etc. Enjoy :venusaur:

The first Pokemon of the team is our designated Drought setter Turkoal. The reason I picked Turkoal over Ninetales is mainly the utility it brings to the table in the form of a Gardevoir switchin, Mega-Blastoise switchin (once), or any other Pokemon with mildly weak neutral moves. The EVs are setup to where I don't immediately die to any strong special move, but still retain some of that monstrous 140 base defense. I'm sure you could come up with some fancy finely-tuned EVs but I am lazy. The 0 Speed IVs are to make sure your weather is always set up last against Gigalith

Hidden Power [Fire]

The first of our two abusers on this team is Venusaur. Venusaur really stands out as a Sun abuser due to it's good bulk and attacking stats. Poisonium Z is on Venusaur to help break down special walls such as Mandibuzz and provide me with a powerful one-off attack if I do not have a Growth boost up yet. I flip-flopped in-between Giga Drain and Solarbeam as my Grass STAB, but I've gone with Giga Drain because it provides Venusaur with more longevity, especially in matchups against Pokemon that it may need it against, such as Gigalith. Sludge Bomb is a good secondary STAB move, and HP Fire rounds out that last slot, allowing me to have a super-effective move against annoying Steel-types.

Weather Ball

Our secondary abuser and main wall-breaker of this team is Victreebel. Victreebel is a menace under the stun, with powerful STABs in Sludge Bomb and Solarbeam, and it's main niche over other Sun abusers, Weather Ball. Weather Ball allows Victreebel to get a base 90 STAB-boosted Fire-type move under the Sun, allowing it to OHKO Metagross and Escavalier, and denting Registeel and non-heatproof Bronzongs heavily without a boost. Once boosted, however, nothing switches into this bar Dragalge. Nothing. The only thing that you should be wary of when using this is that even with Chlorophyll, Victreebel is a bit slow and frail, so make sure not to switch this into any strong neutral or super-effective hits.

1569638594009.png
Ice Shard

Our first of the Glue Core™, Donphan. In case you hadn't noticed, this team so far auto-loses to Gigalith, and Donphan helps improve that matchup immensely. Torkoal requires mandatory hazard removal, which Donphan also provides. Earthquake STAB is always great, and Knock Off support also helps Venusaur and Victreebel against special walls such as Mandibuzz. Ice Shard fills in the last moveslot to help with any Flygons or Noiverns, and general priority support. The EV's could perhaps be fine-tuned, but I didn't really want to creep pass base 60s.

Ice Beam
1569639223119.png
Rapid Spin

The second member of our Glue Core™ is Mega-Blastoise. Blastoise provides great general utility, being able to use it as a soft-check for all the Steel-types in the tier, along with providing secondary Rapid Spin support. The EVs are standard offensive, along with the moveset. Dark Pulse threatens everything Aura Sphere doesn't, and Ice Beam is for the grasses. I could run some tech over Rapid Spin due to already having it on Donphan, but I've found the dual hazard removal to be more useful than something crazy in the last slot.

Knock Off

The last Pokemon on this team, our secondary setter, and the third member of our Glue Core™, is Uxie. Uxie compresses a lot of roles on this team, as you can see, serving as our Nidoqueen check, Flygon check, and soft-checking a lot of threats in the tier. Wiki Berry allows us to live much longer than we usually would, and the EVs are to outspeed Roserade while putting the rest into SpDef. U-Turn is great in general, as it can generate free switchins into the rest of the Pokemon on this team, and Knock Off is always a great move. Psychic is used to threaten Nidoqueen, Toxicroak, and Roserade, and Sunny Day is great whenever I need to set it up in an emergency.

1569641484553.png

Abomasnow and Gigalith are always a pain, since they can immediately take away our weather. There's no way to auto-win against these mons, just make sure they're taking chip, and make some smart switches.

1569641566950.png

Scarf Noivern always outspeeds Venusaur and Victreebel under Sun. Even though Hurricane becomes a 50% accurate move, if they carry Flamethrower, you still get messed up. Make sure to keep Uxie and Torkoal preserved, as they are the only things that can mildly consistently switch in.

1569641664848.png

This team doesn't have any hard stops to Roserade, so whenever it switches in when weather isn't up, you usually have to find something to sack. Uxie can switch in a few times, but after that, everything starts dying. There's not much else I can say other than just be smart about what you do.

Hi!

Nice RMT, looking good.

:venusaur: & :victreebel:
Consider the possibility of Timid>Modest on both Victreebel and Venusaur. With Timid, the former outruns +1 base speed 100s like Flygon and Shaymin whereas the latter gets the ability to threaten Blastoise outside of sun and to tie with non-Scarf Gardevoir which with its Trace ability can really mess up a sweep and will trouble you quite a bit if Uxie (which is already supposed to check a number of threats) gets overwhelmed. With Timid, Venusaur will also outpace Scarf Salazzle and tie with Scarf Noivern. I understand that the loss in power is somewhat noticeable (especially considering the choice of Giga Drain>Solar Beam on both of these) but from some quick calcs that I ran it appears that they still pick up most of the KOs they used to. Given that you have better means to deal with Flygon and Shaymin running Timid is probably more worth on Venusaur though.

:blastoise-mega:
Double Rapid Spin is interesting given that your abusers aren't naturally weak to rocks but it probably works well enough since hazards are always an annoyance. However, there is some cool techs to fit in Blastoise's 4th moveslot that you could experiment with: Yawn forces switches and can allow you to cycle in your sun setters/abusers on a predicted switch, Substitute eases prediction, helps it dodge status from the likes of Registeel and takes advantage of Protect. It also gives the team a helpful countermeasure against Honchkrow's Sucker Punch. Refresh is another anti-Registeel tech to shrugg of Toxic on the predicted Protect while Work Up gives it some more wallbreaking power.

:uxie:
Psyshock>Psychic on Uxie gives you better damage output versus Roserade, Dragalge and Virizion (if you care about the 100% 2HKO on Nidoqueen without Rocks you can shift the 40 leftover EVs into SpAtk).

:torkoal:
Investment in physical defense on Torkoal allows it to avoid the 2HKO from Metagross' EQ which it is supposed to check. The spread below still avoids the 3HKO from Gardevoir's Moonblast too.

Torkoal @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion

These are merely minor adjustments, no need to change much else if at all from what I can tell. Try these out if you like and report back how these worked out for you if you find the time! Have a good one. :psyglad:
