Today, I will be displaying one of my favorite Gen 7 Monotype teams. It is completely Hyper Offensive Fairy that doesnt depend on Klefki to setup screen to be effective. This team utilizes most of the new fairies introduced to Gen 7. This team has many checks to Steel, Ground and Poison monotypes which had threatened Fairy Monotype greatly back in Generation 6 while overall having a decent and or good matchup against the rest of the types. Without further ado here is my Fairy Team!

Note: The nicknames are song lyrics from Rihanna's song. Notice why the name of the song isn't a pokemon's nickname, can you figure out why.

Shine Bright (Tapu Koko) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hidden Power [Fire]

The first pokemon that I decided to add to my Fairy team was Tapu Koko. Tapu Koko's strong electric type stab boosted by electric terrain makes Tapu Koko an ideal wall breaker while providing an immunity to Sleep due to secondary affects of Electric Terrain. The reason I chose to use Thunderbolt and Volt Switch was so I could abuse Electric Terrain to its fullest by having a sweeping move in Thunderbolt and a pivot move in Volt Switch. Volt Switch makes Tapu Koko such a good pivot pokemon to help bring in a more tanky pokemon against a certain threat or to bring in a setup sweeper at the appropriate time. Dazzling Gleam on Tapu Koko is great Stab to add to make Tapu Koko that much more potent of a late game sweeper in more matchups. Finally Hidden Power [Fire] is mainly an addition to hit the Choice Scarfed Excadrill switchins on steel for a good chunk of damage while also providing good coverage against pokemon such as Ferrothorn.
252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Scizor: 256-303 (74.6 - 88.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Metagross-Mega: 246-289 (81.7 - 96%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Koko Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Scizor: 304-360 (88.6 - 104.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 124-147 (44.1 - 52.3%) -- 17.6% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Koko Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Excadrill: 224-264 (62 - 73.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Eye to Eye (Mimikyu) @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak
- Play Rough

Mimikyu's ability made it to interesting of an opportunity to pass up as it protect you from any 1 random attacking move with its ability Disguise. This allows Mimikyu to act as a good blanket check to many setup sweepers but more importantly it can help Fairy take out Mega Metagross. Ghostium Z in tandem with Shadow Claw is a 140 base power move that allows Mimikyu to nearly ohko a Mega Metagross from full HP and then proceed to kill it with Shadow Sneak. Shadow Sneak generally is good priority to chip pokemon that can take care of Mimikyu or to break a fast sash pokemon that can potentially beat Mimikyu. Play Rough was finally added as a great Stab option allowing Mimikyu not to be hard walled by threats such as Bisharp and can take chunks out of any Dark, Fighting or Dragon types pokemon health. Swords Dance was added as Mimikyu's last move to help it hit for more damage as Mimikyu only has an underwhelming base 90 attack. Swords Dance can also help Mimikyu become an effective Shadow Sneak cleaner late game. Mimikyu can dent some walls and threats to Fairy very decently with Z-Shadow Claw.
Hint: Don't use Z Shadow Sneak!
(Klefki can be used over Mimikyu in this team to help support the team better through screens and thunder wave. If you opt to use Klefki change Azumarill's item to Normalium Z.)
252 Atk Mimikyu Shadow Claw (Base Power 140) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Metagross-Mega: 252-296 (83.7 - 98.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Mimikyu Shadow Claw (Base Power 140) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 202-238 (60.4 - 71.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Mimikyu Shadow Claw (Base Power 140) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Landorus: 195-229 (61.1 - 71.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Beautiful Sea (Azumarill) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Belly Drum
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off

Azumarill is the premiere Fairy type setup sweeper in both Gen 6 & 7 as its +6 Aqua can't be handled by the majority of the meta and can be easily setup after grabbing momentum or predicting a switch out on your opponents part. Since this team lacks screens from Klefki setting up Belly Drum isn't as easy nevertheless it is still extremely powerful when setup right. Belly Drum cuts Azumarill's health down by 50% allowing it to restore 25% of its health with the Sitrus Berry. Azumarill should not setup Belly Drum on types its Fairy STAB is strong against such as Fighting, Dark and Dragon as its much easier to sweep by spamming Play Rough. Azumarill's main attack after having setup Belly Drum is to continually click Aqua Jet to either wear down or completely sweep the opposing team. Knock Off was the last moveslot choice as it can not only take out the opponents item and clean ghost teams but to remove a few defensive threats to Fairy after setting up a Belly Drum such as Ferrothorn and Doublade. The 100 speed on Azumarill allow it to outpace no speed base 60 pokemon such as Clefable, Swampert, Lapras, Porygon2 and Weezing while also being able to outspeed slightly faster base 61 no speed Tyranitar by a few points.
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Metagross-Mega: 222-262 (73.7 - 87%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Charizard-Mega-X: 651-766 (219.1 - 257.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Raichu-Alola: 550-648 (210.7 - 248.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Doublade: 480-566 (150.4 - 177.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 344-405 (97.7 - 115%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

Feel the Warmth (Tapu Bulu) @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Superpower
- Horn Leech
- Zen Headbutt

Tapu Bulu, is an absolute monster with really the only way to wall this thing is to have a Fire, Bug, Flying and or Grass pokemon face it in battle. Any nuetral pokemon will be taking massive damage from any grass type stab attacks as in tandem with Choice Band and Grassy Terrain their power is boosted 2.25x. Wood Hammer, this move needs no introduction as anything it clicks this move against is practically a goner with an insane 120 base power grass stab move Tapu Bulu will even be giving some Flying types struggling to switchin. Wood Hammer after Stealth Rocks in Grassy Terrain has about an 82% chance to ohko max defensive Toxapex as a basis for its raw power. Horn Leech, is Tapu Bulu's main way of regaining health after taking a huge attack or simply wearing itslf out with Wood Hammer spam. Superpower is Tapu Bulu's way of hitting otherwise said resisted Steel types while also being able to chunk the likes of Celesteela for a good chunk of damage. Finally Zen Headbutt is Tapu Bulu's main way of hitting annoying slower poison type pokemon such as Mega Venusaur, Dragalge, Amoonguss and Weezing.
252+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Wood Hammer vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 259-306 (85.1 - 100.6%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Moonshine (Clefable) @ Babiri Berry
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Flamethrower
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled

Clefable is the teams main spunge for a steel type attack as it can take any one thrown at it as long as Mega Metagross or Mega Scizor are above or at +2. Clefable is the teams premiere hazard setter with Stealth Rock as it is easily able to get up hazards against any pokemon due to its natural bulk and Babiri Berry which cuts damage from Steel type attacks in half for Clefable. Flamethrower allows Clefable to chunk Steel types like the Megas Scizor and Metagross for a very nice chunk of damage while overall providing great coverage for beating annoying Ice pokemon such as Alolan Sandslash. Moonblast is Clefable's main stab that allows it to take on pokemon like Garchomp. Magic Guard prevents Clefable from taking damage from any nonattacking move or any hazard. The defensive EVs allow Clefable to avoid being 2 ohkoed by Life Orb Latios's Psyshock, Landorus-I's Sludge Wave and a Banded Scizor with Bullet Punch. Mainly Babiri berry is to reduce damage from the steel type threats such as Mega Metagross's Meteor Mash and +4 Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch and retaliate with a Flamethrower or lay down hazards. Then Softboiled as Clefable's last move allows it to constantly stay healthy through the match and can make it a pain for teams without good wallbreakers or an advantage very annoying to knock out.
(You can use Unaware Clefable with the same EVs to better help deal with setup sweepers such as Mega Scizor, if you do change Softboiled to Moonlight as Softboiled is incompatible with the Unaware ability)
+4 252+ Atk Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Babiri Berry Clefable: 339-399 (86 - 101.2%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
+1 252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Babiri Berry Clefable: 325-384 (82.4 - 97.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Sludge Wave vs. 252 HP / 84+ SpD Clefable: 294-346 (74.6 - 87.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 179-212 (45.4 - 53.8%) -- 41.8% chance to 2HKO
+4 252 Atk Life Orb Sandshrew-Alola Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Babiri Berry Clefable: 372-438 (94.4 - 111.1%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Excadrill Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Babiri Berry Clefable: 232-274 (58.8 - 69.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Ecstasy (Magearna) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shift Gear
- Flash Cannon
- Fleur Cannon
- Ice Beam / Hidden Power [Fire] / Aura Sphere

The teams main setup sweeper with access to Shift Gear with +2 this monster can outspeed the likes on common base 100 scarfers such as Victini and Scarf Garchomp while also boosting its Special Attack for each fainting of a pokemon its in the battle for. Shift Gear brings Magearna's speed up to 502 which makes its speed nearly unbeatable with only Scarfers such as Terrakion, Base 110's and Deoxys speed being able to outspeed it. Fleur and Flash Cannon are fairly self explanitory as they allow Magearna to abuse incredibly powerful stab to help it become a more dangerous Shift Gear sweeper. Fleur Cannon against types its strong against can even be at -1 and ohko a good chunk of the opposing teams pokemon making it very annoying to beat in advantage matchups. Ice Beam was so the team was a little bit less weak to Ground, grass and Flying types that threaten the team such as Mega Venusaur, Landorus-I, Mega Garchomp, Hippowdon and generally a very nice coverage move to have for any team. Hidden Power [Fire] and Aura Sphere are also extra moves you could run over Ice Beam to make the matchup against Steel a bit easier if you feel Tapu Koko, Clefable and Azumarill just don't cut it for you.
+1 252 SpA Magearna Fleur Cannon vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Hippowdon: 361-426 (85.9 - 101.4%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 SpA Magearna Ice Beam vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Excadrill: 209-247 (57.7 - 68.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Magearna Flash Cannon vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Magearna: 117-138 (38.8 - 45.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 SpA Magearna Flash Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kyurem-Black: 288-338 (73.6 - 86.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Magearna Fleur Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Charizard-Mega-X: 244-288 (82.1 - 96.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Magearna Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Scizor: 316-376 (112.4 - 133.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Magearna Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Excadrill: 186-220 (51.5 - 60.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252 SpA Magearna Aura Sphere vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Heatran: 248-294 (64.2 - 76.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

These 3 pokemon can cause lots of trouble for this Fairy team if played right and its checks are gone. Metagross can just 6-0 the team with Meteor Mash and Bullet Punch with its only real check being Thunderbolt from Tapu Koko and Never Ending Nightmare from Mimikyu. Scarfed Excadrill can clean through the team once Azumarill is dead and easily take out 4/6 members of this team. Tapu Bulu can 1v1 Excadrill if its Scarfed from full health and Azumarill chunks it big time with Aqua Jet. Mega Scizor is a problem that only Tapu Koko can solve with Hidden Power [Fire] once rocks are up and its past +2 the game is a wrap.
Steel types in General!

Any tanky Poison type with recovery gives the team lots of trouble due to its ability to spam poison attacks and constantly recover. Mega Venusaur can be chunked by Tapu Bulu and Magearna but against the rest of the team it easily wins. Nihilego, once Magearna and Azumarill are gone Nihilego proceeds to sweep through the team with sludge wave without much being able to do against it. Salazzle can take out every member of the team aside from Azumarill after it has been chunked and Tapu Koko which naturally outspeeds it. Its fire and poison type stab hits every pokemon on my team super effectively making it a pain to face.
Poison types in General!

These two ground type pokemon can give the team lots of trouble with their real check only being Azumarill with Aqua Jet. Choice Banded Excadrill outspeeds everything in Sand and can kill or nearly kill everything with Iron Head or Earthquake. Landorus-I being able to spam Sludge Wave and Earth Power is generally very annoying to deal with for any fairy type team. However Clefable lives one Sludge Wave and then Azumarill can revenge kill it once Clefable has damaged it a bit.
Other Ground types don't give this team much trouble!

Once it gets 1 Shift Gear Boost and 1 Soul Heart boost this pokemon can rip through the team easily with Flash Cannon for an easy 6-0.

When you think that you see what its an easy win. Nope, these 3 can single handely shut down the entire team due to Azumarill being able to absorb any grass attack Tapu Bulu uses, Lanturn being able to tkae any hit Tapu Koko throws at it and Toxapex being able to wall the rest of your team. Stall Water is a more painful matchup than steel. However there is one way to fix this, Magearna can dedicate its set to beating this core with Shift gear, Thunderbolt, Energy Ball and Flash Cannon. However this changes up the dynamic of so many matchups and only makes steel that much harder to face.

Great team exca, always a fan of HO teams. That being said, I have one piece of advice.

Magic Guard --> Unaware
You really don't need magic guard, as you are not setting up with CM, and clefable is more of a means to cripple threats anyways.
Also without a klefki, you really have no means of stopping a set-up sweeper, and I can just see a SD garchomp being a huge threat.
Anyways, with unaware youll be able to beat the likes of SD scizor even at +6.
Obviously with this change comes with softboiled --> moonlight.

For Tapu Koko there is no reason for choice specs! If you use life orb you almost get the same results, 2 OHKO on most.

Hey MultiCow, Thanks for the rate! I just have a small concern with LO on Tapu Koko.
Firstly, Tapu Koko with Choice Specs is the best way to beat Steel with this team with Azumarill and secondly the chip damage from LO each round that it takes wears down Tapu Koko pretty quickly against types its suppose to help beat leaving it very weak to already common priority like Choice Band Extremespeed Dragonite.
