A chilling wind gently blows across the arena. In other circumstances, this might be seen as an ominous sign, but here it serves to sharpen the senses of the trainers. If they looked up into the crowd, they'd see all sorts of distracting things-- a vendor selling their rapidly vanishing supply of Pokéblocks, a dazzling electronic scoreboard above their heads updated with the latest technology... but focusing on these things, as they know, will earn them nothing more than defeat. Four Poké Balls rest in the pockets of both players, the unfamiliar Pokémon in each one gazing curiously at their new surroundings, but not without remembering what they're here to do- fight.

  • This Pokemon always keeps its claws/teeth/pincers extremely sharp, and thus cannot have its attack reduced.
  • This Pokemon is used to reacting in desert conditions and gets a 20% evasion boost during Sandstorms. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.
  • Pokemon with this ability have internal structures that absorb the toxins in poison and uses them to recover two (2) HP/action instead of taking poison damage. If Toxic'd, the Toxic counter will still go up each round and Toxic will do the relevant damage for that round should their ability be disabled.

Although most of Mowtom's Pokémon are breathing deeply, steeling themselves for not only the distractions but the heat of battle too, the Charizard looks like it can handle both. The clawing attacks it's practicing suggest that despite the more specially oriented Mega form it's chosen, it's determined not to slip behind in hand-to-hand combat.

The normally unnatural stillness in Texas's Pokémon is typical of trained Psychic-types before a battle. Although a less experienced Pokémon would practice its weak physical attacks, these Pokémon have the utmost confidence in their minds. None of the Pokémon give any outward signs about their feelings on the battle, but the Bronzong looks as though it can use its sturdy body to its advantage.

Two people toss Poké Balls onto the arena while thousands more watch. A candy bar in its coat, the Cawmodore destroys the Mr. Mime in a single blow, revealing the golden Pokémon resting behind it. A layer of skin is shed just as easily as the illusion, signifying a new beginning to the battle. Seeing the new power of its opponent after the magical flames it radiates, the Cawmodore decides to use its own gambit. Risks taken by both sides... this battle will be very interesting indeed.
