Morgrem is the best dual screens setter in ZU. Prankster allows it to set dual screens with priority and use Taunt or Thunder Wave to prevent opposing sweepers such as Swoobat, Wartortle, and Silvally-Ice from setting up on it. Taunt can block Substitute and Rest from Pokemon such as Oranguru, Eiscue, and Klang and stop Defoggers from removing Morgrem's screens. However, Thunder Wave can interrupt a sweep in progress from foes like Galarian Mr. Mime, Rock Polish Stonjourner, and Swoobat, unlike Taunt. Dazzling Gleam is Morgrem's best STAB move, since it hits Dark-types like Vullaby and Scraggy for super effective damage. Alternatively, Morgrem can run Dark Pulse as its STAB move if it needs to check Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Shedinja, Gothitelle, and Swoobat, though if it does it will be walled by Dark-types. Handling Shedinja can be very important for offensive teams, since many sweepers like Eiscue and Wartortle can't touch it. The given Speed EVs allow Morgrem to outspeed Adamant Machoke and Modest Octillery, enabling it to set up dual screens before getting hit by Machoke's Bullet Punch and damage Octillery before it attacks.
Offensive sweepers such as Eiscue, Wartortle, and Swoobat appreciate the damage reduction provided by Morgrem's dual screens. This Morgrem set fits best in very offensive teams featuring a suicide lead such as Onix or Glalie that doesn't sink momentum. Defiant and Competitive Pokemon like Farfetch'd and Gothitelle can deter Defoggers so the team gets the most out of Morgrem's screens. Galarian Mr. Mime is extremely common and its ability Screen Cleaner can be a pain for screens offense, so checks to it such as Oranguru and Klang make great partners. Poison-types such as Ivysaur, Gloom, and Gastly threaten Morgrem with their super effective STAB moves, so having Poison-type check such as Hakamo-o, Klang, and Galarian Mr. Mime is recommended. Likewise, Steel-type checks such as Machoke and Wartortle are welcomed.

Morgrem is an unique attacker thanks to its ability to beat common checks to Dark-types, such as Machoke, Vullaby, and Zweilous. It checks common Psychic-, Ghost-, and Dark-types such as Beheeyem, Trevenant, and Galarian Linoone. Prankster-boosted Taunt and Thunder Wave are very strong tools, with Taunt preventing setup, Defog, and recovery from opposing Pokemon such as Eiscue, Vibrava, and Pyukumuku and Thunder Wave hindering fast threats such as Silvally-Ice, Wartortle, and Persian. Nasty Plot makes up for Morgrem's mediocre Special Attack and allows it to threaten bulkier Pokemon like Gloom and Dusclops. The given spread allows Morgrem to outspeed Adamant Machoke and paralyzed Persian.
The many offensive Psychic-types such as Beheeyem, Gothitelle, and Lunatone appreciate Morgrem's ability to switch into Dark- and Ghost-types such as Zweilous and Shedinja as well as handle bulkier checks to Psychic-types like Oranguru, Dusclops, and Vullaby. Furthermore, they can deal with Poison-types like Trubbish and Ivysaur that check Morgrem. Morgrem is rather frail, so the team shouldn't rely on it to switch in on anything but resisted hits; therefore, bulky pivots like Klang, Vibrava, and Vespiquen are great teammates. In addition, Morgrem's ability to block Defog with Taunt is very appreciated by hazard stacking teams featuring the likes of Carkol, Glalie, and Whirlipede. Since Morgrem is weak even when boosted, it struggles to break through very bulky Pokemon like Klang and Togetic; therefore, very powerful physical wallbreakers like Gourgeist-L, Stonjourner, and Grapploct are appreciated.
