ORAS OU Musha Shugyo Peaked 14th (1790 elo)

Hello everybody. Today I will be presenting a Sand Offense team build around Mega Medicham. I really like this team because I always wanted a sand team around Mega Medicham since ORAS stated but Mega Sableye became a thing. I finally build a decent team that can handle the threat but this team is still very weak to Mega Sableye and Mega Lopunny. So today I would like the community to nitpick the hell out of my team so it can deal with those threats better. So lets begin.

P.S please post or pm me any replays you have using this team. I would really appreciate that.

P.S this Peaked was from about 2 weeks ago. I would have done this RMT sooner but I couldnt because of RMT rules since I posted http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/simple-effective-peaked-5th-1796-elo-rain-ho.3540759/ (Shameless Promotion) no less than 16 days ago

Netero (Medicham-Mega) @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Ice Punch
- Psycho Cut
- High Jump Kick

Heres the main reason for this team. I love Mega Medicham because its one of my favorite wall breakers. I have tried to build sand team around him before since oras but failed numerous times until now. Both High Jump Kick and Fake out are pretty standard for Wall Breaker Medicham-M. To be completely honest the reason for Psycho Cut > Zen Headbutt was because I was tired of missing. he only really why it's jolly instead of Adamant because I wanted to out speed and kill pokes like bulky Garchomp and buly lando-t with ice punch before it gets up stealth rocks.

tyranitar.gif

Scotti (Tyranitar) @ Chople Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock

Again Shoutouts to scotti for rcommending this set in some of my previous RMTs. Its been helpful in this team as well( Scotti if do you have any issues me taging you when I post this set in an RMT please tell me and ill stop in the future) This TTAR is my lati's switch-in. The chople berry helps me either set out hazards and pokes with fighting moves and helps me 1HKO Gengar because its a huge threat to the team.

excadrill.gif

Grand Mole (Excadrill) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake

there isn't much can say about this excadrill. It the standard Sand rush set really The reason why its jolly instead of adamant because I don't want to get into any speed ties with other excadrills since the common nature of the set is Adamant. Rock slide deal with bird spam while Excadrill is in the sand because SDTalonflame cant even 2hko excadrill with Prio neutral Brave bird. 252 Atk Sharp Beak Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Excadrill: 129-152 (35.7 - 42.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO. Iron is to deal with fairies excluding azumarill. Iron head has a huge chance to 1HKO standard clefable. 252 Atk Life Orb Excadrill Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 369-437 (93.6 - 110.9%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

rotom-wash.gif

Mr. Clean (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Pain Split
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp

So well building this team I felt like I need about bird check and ground immunity so the first think that came to mind is rotom-w. Pain split helps me semi deal with stall pokes like chansey. But mainly rotom-w help me dealw ith Mega lopunny if I predict the poke to lead first. because HJK does about 58% at most and if I get the Will-O-Wisp on th Mega lopunny it helps me further in the long run.

serperior.gif

Naga (Serperior) (F) @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Contrary
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Glare
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]

So this lovely little snake here is the main way deal with Mega-Sableye. Because Leaf Storm + Contrary can 2HKO Mega Sableye even if it uses Calm Mind. Leaf Storm can 1-2HKO bulky pokes like Rotom-W, Suicune,Alomomola, Hippowdon, Slowbro and more. Hp fire is to handleSteel types like Ferrothorn and Skarmory especially after a boost from Leaf Storm. Glare is mainly here because I like to punish switch ins with paralysis.

volcarona.gif

Volcanus (Volcarona) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
- Giga Drain
- Flamethrower
- Quiver Dance
- Hidden Power [Ground]

Now Last but not least heres Volcarona. when concluding my teambuild I noticed i was still kinda weak to Scarf Lando-T. this is my personal preference but I hate not having a way to deal with Scarf Lando T on any of my teams. So I decided to use this set because it out speeds it and also has a very high chance to 1HKO scarf lando after a Quiver dance. Giga Drain is to help deal with Bulky watr pokes like Rotom-w and Quagsire. HP Ground is mainly because I didnt want to be walled by Heatran. Flamethrower > Fiery Damce is mainly for more power. Lum Berry is to help support my Volcarona set up because its almost useless when it gets a status. Especially Paralysis. Also really helps against steel types like Ferrothorn and Skarmory which annoy the team.

+1 252 SpA Volcarona Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-T: 273-322 (85.5 - 100.9%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

In Conclusion, I hope people enjoy the team and please give constructive criticsm on the team because I would really Like to better deal with Mega Sableye( especialy if it the team behind it has good synergy with Mega sableye) Mega Lopunny and Stall In general. I would post replays of any good changes people recommend here when I can. Also please post ant replays(good or bad) you have using the team here I would really apperciate it. Especially if you made edits yourself. Have a nice day everyone and enjoy.[/hide]

Awesome team. A few notes, try Fiery Dance / Fire Blast > Flamethrower (Volcarona)
Fiery Dance:
Boosts SpA and has decent power
Fire Blast: Stronger than other two options

Bug Buzz > HP Ground: Having a STAB type move except Fire should be an option and it doesn't need HP. It should be sent when it has little checks.

Zen Headbutt > Psycho Cut: It's got more power. That's it low charge left

Hey dude solid team.

I feel like stuff like M-Manectric, M-Metagross, M-Lopunny, M-Altaria and Bisharp(beats the team after an SD) might be annoying to the team so I'd suggest this over Tyranitar as it provides a reliable answer to these mentioned threats as well as has access to Slack Off to increase longevity and potentially increase sand turns in the process.

Now that you have a more than decent check to M-Lopunny in Hippowdon, I feel like AV Torn-T over Rotom-W would make sense just because you have no switch ins to Specs Keldeo atm and struggle against mons like Starmie and Serperior. With Regenerator and an Assault Vest, this makes it a pretty nice mon to have on the team and function as an offensive pivot.

Sets:
Tornadus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 132 HP / 160 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- Knock Off
- U-turn

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge

Hope I helped dude :)

Thanks for the advice bro. I will test out when I get a chance but aim but little iffy on tornadus because I dont wanna cry no more when I miss Hurricane. But that just a personal preference.

I'm just gonna give a Volcarona set

Volcarona @ Passho Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 68 HP / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fiery Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Giga Drain
- Quiver Dance

What this does it speed creeps the Offensive Quiver Dance Set, runs dual STAB with Giga Drain for Rock, Ground and Water types which is useful coverage.
