My First RMT!

Yea as the title suggests this is my first RMT on here. It's not my first team, but it is my first ubers team. I've been playing with it for a week or so and have had relative success with it, so without further ado.

Team Building Process:
I knew I wanted to use kyogre because well, he nails things pretty hard. I also wanted to abuse being able to use drizzle and swift swim on the same team in ubers, and I also needed something to counter the common opposing Kyogre

So from here I wanted to use a classic from Generation one and generation 4's insane powerhouse

So this team is pretty offensive at this point so I wanted to add a little defense

This was the team for a while until i realized it was a little weak to fighting. so i had to add something to cover that, i also lacked a spinblocker and i wanted to maintain a little defense so i went with this

Orca (Kyogre) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
- Surf

This thing is an absolute terror. Gigantic Special Attack and Speed, coupled with the dangerous threat of water spout. Thunder boasts perfect accuracy in the rain and Ice beam rounds out the coverage. Surf is for when kyogre is weakened and needs a reliable STAB when Water Spout is no longer an option. Very standard but very deadly if gone unchecked
272.png

Evil Duck (Ludicolo) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Focus Blast

I love this thing in the rain. It essentially gains a choice scarf without the choice part. Life orb helps this thing hit like a truck off a respectable special attack. Hydro Pump in the rain is deadly. Grass Knot nails kyogre for a ohko on any non specially defensive sets. Grass knot also hits alot of the tier hard because theyre all fatasses. Ice beam hurts a lot of things that hydro pump cant. Focus blast if for dialga and ferrothorn. This thing 4x resists water spout making it a safe kyogre switch.

598.png

Thorny (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Protect
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Leech Seed

Very standard ferrothorn. Great member of a rain team in general. Very bulky. Can set up spikes and recover itself with protect lefties and leech seed. Stealth Rock is cool too. i dont mind it being taunt bait cuz i will just switch out if i sense taunt coming

493.png

Arceus-Ghost (Arceus) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multitype
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- ExtremeSpeed
- Recover
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Claw

Pretty standard Extremekiller (Standard sets are effective hehe) anyway. SD boost is nice then go on a rampage with Extremespeed. Recover is very useful because Arceus has decent enough bulk to make use of it. Shadow claw is so im not walled by giratina and arceus ghost. And other ghosts for that matter. This thing struggles with Dialga but oh well thats what Mewtwo is for. Lum Berry is so useful. So many times its saved me from hax paralysis and occasional freezes. Also helps counter spore on smeargles and stops things from stopping me with Willowisp

487.png

RA (Giratina) @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Draco Meteor

The great wall. Spinblocker. Stops my fighting weakness, Can ruin extremekiller arceus day with WOW. Draco meteor is a force because he has solid Special attack and it nails things in a pinch

150.png

Two Mews (Mewtwo) @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psystrike
- Ice Beam
- Aura Sphere
- Calm Mind

Calm Mind to raise his gigantic Special stats. Psystrike is the obvious STAB. Aura Sphere hits Ferrothorn and Dialga. Ice Beam hits the many dragons and the occasional Sky Shaymin.

Recent changes are in bold thanks for the input

First off, it seems that this team lacks a spinblocker. Forretress can just come in and set up toxic spikes and rapid spin for free on ferrothorn. Also the thing about the nickname fooling lots of people - I dont believe it. Arceus's rings dont turn purple plus what do you mean by ghost type attacks? Shadow sneak? Giratina-O shouldnt even switch in on ghost arceus.
252SpAtk Kyogre (+SAtk) Thunder in Rain vs 4HP/0SpDef Ludicolo (Neutral): 52% - 62% (160 - 189 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. 30% chance to paralyze. Of course this isnt a big issue seeing as kyogres dont use thunder when the opposing team has a ferrothorn. Use max hp/spdef ferrothorn. Or else:
252SpAtk Kyogre (+SAtk) Water Spout in Rain vs 252HP/168SpDef Leftovers Ferrothorn (Neutral): 48% - 57% (171 - 201 HP). Guaranteed 3HKO. 13% chance to 2HKO with Leftovers. Seeing this, i would say that ferrothorn will most likely die to one layer of spikes. There is a big substitute+hone claws zekrom weakness here. It can just come in on ferrothorn and start setting up. It is guaranteed to kill one team member. Mewtwo dies to +1 Bolt Strike while dialga is 2hkoes by outrage.

You'd be surprised about the nickname. Some people are that careless sorry if you don't believe that. Anyway it doesn't matter if kyogre has a guaranteed 2hko because if I switch in ludicolo it'll take the first hit then ko right bak with grass knot unless it's a spdef invested kyogre in which case it won't hit as hard anyway. Works every single time but yes I see what you mean about 30% paralysis but hey hax is hax. I never even think of switching thorn in. When I see them throw zekrom in I immediately switch to mewtwo before it can set up and ohko with ice beam. Also dialga may be 2hko but before that happens it can drop a Draco meteor on it leaving it in ko range for a revenger or maybe even just dead depending what entry's I have set up. Forretress wants to set up hazards usually as a lead. When I see it in team preview I lead with mewtwo and roast it with flamethrower

But anyway if I wanted to drop dialga for Giratina a a spinblocker as well as patching up the teams fighting weakness how do you think I should go about doing so

You are not getting the point here. When zekrom comes in, what the first thing it does? It uses substitute. Ok so you switch in mewtwo as zekrom uses substitute. Now what? Stealth rock is a common battle condition. So mewtwo has already taken 12.5% damage. Mewtwo is at 87%. You use ice beam and break the substitute, taking an additional 10% from life orb. Mewtwo is at 77%. Zekrom uses bolt strike and:
252Atk Teravolt Zekrom (+Atk) Bolt Strike vs 4HP/0Def Mewtwo (Neutral): 79% - 94% (283 - 334 HP). Dead mewtwo. Dialga faces the same problem. Btw nobody uses slow subclaws zekrom. So dialga is outsped and 2hkoed. Unless you show me logs of someone using ghost type attacks against arceus, i wont believe you. What really bothers me about ferrothorn is that its using its OU spread. Please remember that this is ubers. Forretress does not lead unless the opponent has a Deoxys-S. About the spinblocker issue, i would use a ghost-arceus over the extremekiller arceus. Use the swords dance set with Brick Break, Extremespeed and Shadow Force/Claw(preferred one obviously). The reason for an offensive set is that you have no spinner so its better to apply offensive pressure rather than give your opponent time to set up more hazards.

Haha your focusing so hard on the nickname. I'm not saying its my main strategy, it's just a cool gimmick that happens sometimes. Obviously more experienced players know better. But people who are new to ubers slip up sometimes. If your going to make a giant deal then I will show a log

Hi, looks a pretty solid team at a glance but I can think of a few changes you may wish to try.

1. Your team has Stealth Rock and Spikes so a spin-blocker might be nice. For this, I'd recommend testing specially defensive Giratina -> Ludicolo. When specially defensive it can help check even specs ogre, while keeping hazards in play. It also helps the team to check opposing E-killer Arceus.
2. I'd go for leftovers -> rocky helmet on Ferrothorn. With Leech Seed + Protect it is especially useful for Ferro's lifespan. I'd also consider trying power whip over Thunder Wave as your team is already very fast.
3. As your team is in the rain, I'd recommend replacing flamethrower on Dialga and Mewtwo. With Dialga, in the rain, you aren't even 2hko'ing Ferro who can leech seed and protect stall you. For Dialga I would go for Thunder -> Flamethrower. With Thunder you can still hit Forretress hard and now hit Skarmory harder than you could before. It also hits opposing Kyogre well and spreads parahax potentially. For Mewtwo, I would put Calm Mind -> Flamethrower. Imo, it is worth taking that turn to set up with Mewtwo as the damage output after doing so is incredibly rewarding.

Hey there:
I see that you have a large Fighting weakness and Mewtwo is supposed to cover it. However, it carries a Life Orb, meaning every time it attacks, it takes damage! Since your team only has 1 Fighting resist, Mewtwo, and lacks a Rapid Spinner (plus, Mewtwo is vulnerable to all forms of hazards) I would definitely replace Life Orb with Leftovers on Mewtwo.
In addition to this, Flamethrower on Mewtwo is cool against Sun teams, but Kyogre is much more common, plus you run it yourself. I would replace it with either Calm Mind for sweeping or Recover for increased longevity, it really helps since you only have the single Fighting resist, and Terrakion out of rain tears you a new one without Mewtwo.

I like the idea of using specially defensive giratina but i love my ludicolo, dialga might get the boot in place of it! Thanks for the idea. As for ferrothorn im def going to test that out! Ill test that out on mewtwo as well!

Someone else suggested calm mind so im going to try that out. To cover the fighting weakness better im going to replace dialga with spdefensive giratina because that also adds a spinblocker
