This is actually more of an experiment than a finalized team, so suggestions would be great!
Slaking @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Truant
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Power-Up Punch
- Brick Break
- Aerial Ace
- Return
Alright this needs some explaining. Slaking has one of the worst abilities in the game, truant, thereby making it one of the worst pokemon in the game. However, it has decent speed outrageous attack, and solid HP. So, Slaking's job is to raise attack with power-up-punch (usually once), then wreck literally anything with STAB return and Aerial Ace for fighting types that may oppose me. Common counters are usually fakeout users and pokemon with Toxic+leech seed.
Exeggutor @ Focus Sash
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Skill Swap
- Reflect
- Energy Ball
- Psychic
The pokemon that makes Slaking worth it, Exeggutor. With a focus sash to greaten the chances to survive the first turn, it comes equipped with Skill Swap to get rid of truant. I usually skill swap one more time to give the opponent truant to force them to switch out or deal with it. But it doesn't stop there, in return Slaking gets harvest, which means it has a 50% chance to recover a sitrus berry at the end of each turn. Slaking's considerable bulk means that it will be even harder to take out. Exeggutor has Reflect to weaken Slaking's physical threats. Beyond Slaking's support lakie, Exeggutor also has energy ball and psychic to dish out decent damage on its good physical attack. A common threat to this entire strategy include Fakeout + any move that OHKO's Exeggutor.
Gengar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
Gengar is generally here to disrupt any strategies, choices, and sweepers. Its good speed means that it gets to taunt a bunch of support pokemon, disable moves that would otherwise cripple me, or hit Shadow Ball and Focus Blast something if it needs too.
Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 SAtk / 252 HP
Timid Nature
- Psychic (Psyshock?)
- Dragon Pulse
- Heal Pulse
- Healing Wish
Many people prefer latios over latias, but its better defence makes a great support pokemon. Heal pulse to heal its partner, healing wish to fully heal the next pokemon coming out (although I never use it, and it seems that it only works if the new pokemon is in the same spot, perhaps I should replace it with something more useful), and Dragon Pulse and Psychic as good STAB moves. Counters include Physical sweepers with sucker punch, or choiced special sweepers.
Ninetales @ Leftovers
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Heat Wave
- Extrasensory
- Dark Pulse
- Will-O-Wisp
These last two pokemon usually work as my second prevailing strategy in this team, Ninetales' drought powers up its moves, and activates Victreebel chlorophyll. Its special bulk means its survives many water threats, and Extrasensory and Dark pulse provide type coverage. Will-O-Wisp cuts physical attackers and does slow damage to walls.
Victreebel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Solar Beam
- Giga Drain
- Growth
- Sludge Bomb
Last up is Victreebel, using Ninetale's drought, Victreebel's speed becomes amazing. Growth now raises attack and special attack by two stages instead of one, turning this pokemon into a special sweeper. Solarbeam has no charge time, Giga Drain recovers health and deals massive damage at the same time, and Sludge Bomb is good for fairy types, other grass types, or things that resist grass. Its counters are anything that can survive long enough to get rid of the sun and push through its special bulk.
Well anyway there you have it, this is what I've been trying out for the last few days.
