Nasty Plot lets Slowking beat Pokemon like Blastoise, Druddigon, and Silvally-Steel more reliably. Scald dissuades Dark-types like Incineroar, Pangoro, and Absol from directly switching into Slowking and is its best way of damaging Psychic-types like Delphox, Xatu, and Sigilyph. Future Sight is great for easing prediction and has very few safe switch-ins when boosted by Nasty Plot. Alternatively, Psyshock provides an immediate source of damage against Poison-types like Weezing and Garbodor as well as Heliolisk. Additionally, it is more reliable than Future Sight is after Shattered Psyche has been used. Slack Off increases Slowking's longevity and recover health lost to hard hits such as Choice Band Aerodactyl's Stone Edge and Medicham's Thunder Punch.

44 Speed EVs let Slowking outspeed Palossand, while the remaining EVs with a Bold nature increase Slowking's physical bulk so it can better check Pokemon like Passimian, Aerodactyl, and Rhydon. Psychium Z gives Slowking access to Shattered Psyche, which, in conjunction with Nasty Plot, lets it break through Pokemon like Druddigon, Vaporeon, and Seismitoad more easily and allows it to bypass Future Sight's delay to immediately hit Heliolisk. Regenerator provides Slowking with additional recovery, letting it delay its use of Slack Off and scout Choice item users like Passimian and Aerodactyl more reliably.
Usage Tips
========
Slowking has phenomenal mixed bulk; as a result, it finds plenty of opportunities to switch in against Pokemon like Delphox, Passimian, and Rhydon and recover health with Slack Off, set up, or simply fire off an attack. It is also key to take advantage of Regenerator as much as possible by scouting Choice item Pokemon such as Passimian and Aerodactyl and switching into weak hits or non-attacking moves from the likes of Steelix and Xatu for free recovery. Due to how Future Sight works, it's a great way to ease prediction and make the opponent's plays more telegraphed. Make use of this by using Future Sight to force in Pokemon like Incineroar, opposing Slowking, and Pangoro and switching to the appropriate check, setting up with Nasty Plot, or using Scald. Timing the usage of Slowking's Shattered Psyche is very important to ensure the removal of bulky Water-types like Vaporeon, particularly when using Future Sight, which is less reliable at doing so. Although Scald is a very spammable move, be careful if the opponent has a Heliolisk, especially if using Future Sight instead of Psyshock, as it can switch into a predicted Scald to recover health.

Slowking is a great fit on balanced and bulky offense teams due to what it offers both offensively and defensively. Slowking checks a wide variety of Pokemon due to its excellent mixed bulk and defensive typing, so Pokemon like Incineroar, Pangoro, and Steelix that appreciate having checks to Pokemon such as Aerodactyl, Passimian, and Delphox make for great teammates. Since Slowking can struggle with Heliolisk, especially when it lacks Shattered Psyche or Psyshock, it appreciates having teammates like Aerodactyl, Choice Scarf Passimian, and Dhelmise that can deal with it. Aerodactyl can also threaten Grass-types like Sceptile and Whimsicott, Passimian can deal with Dark-types like Incineroar and Pangoro, and Dhelmise provides entry hazard control. Slowking's ability to pressure specially defensive Pokemon like Druddigon, Seismitoad, and Vaporeon with Nasty Plot-boosted attacks is greatly appreciated by Pokemon like Magmortar and Heliolisk that share similar checks to it. Magmortar can also take out Grass-types, while Heliolisk helps with opposing Slowking.
