A long awaited return!
This time.....
:eeveehide:
:EEVEE:
Eevee!

Eevee is a strange Pokemon, with weak stats and relatively few moves. On the face, it seems like it shouldn't have much of a niche, but access to Baton Pass and the boostingest boosting move in the game gives it an unusual niche in the metagame. With high powered threats, Eevee can often catch an unaware team off guard, allowing for easy wins. However, Eevee commits a full slot to essentially a one-trick pony, and oftentimes is a win fast, lose fast Pokemon.

Teambuilding phase ends on August 8th, 11PM US/Eastern Time. Voting will last 72 hours after that.

so lets get this party started

:eevee: :Corviknight: :Indeedee-F: :Flamigo: :Alakazam-Mega: :Incineroar:

so the main attraction is of course :eevee: with the extra utility of yawn added after it does the obligatory baton pass which goes into :Corviknight:, which i got the ideia for after i saw McBruh parting shot and intimidate cycle some other eevee team. The Corv has enough speed to outspeed :marshadow: at +2 with the taunt to prevent will-o-wisp, the tera can be fire or dragon. :Flamigo: and :Alakazam-Mega: serve as secondary sweepers, with zam loving the psy terrain from :Indeedee-F: and having psych up. Incineroar is just a good support mon but it has wisp instead of blitz because of the eevee is specially defensive so you want to screw the physicall attackers even more

:primarina: :eevee: :flamigo: :amoonguss: :kingambit: :latios:

:primarina: - Primarina is here for three reasons, the first being that it has great Special bulk with pretty mediocre Physical bulk, but this big flaw with the mon is kind of just negated due to the +2 you are able to get from Extreme Evoboost and Baton Pass. On top of this, Primarina has a lovely pair of multi-target moves in Liquid Voice Hyper Voice and Dazzling Gleam, these are paired with Hydro Pump for it's massive damage and Protect since it's Protect, and it's making use of Tera Poison to get around Rillaboom/Kartana, something like Tera Grass or Electric could also work though and the third reason is that I like the silly fish lady :woo:

:eevee: - Clicks Z, clicks Baton Pass into ideally Primarina or Kingambit depending. It might sometimes click Protect on like a Fake Out or Quick Attack if something is on like two percent.

:flamigo: - Gets Stat boosts with Costar and usually lives a hit, even more with Tera Steel, then sets Tailwind and tries to get a big hits off with Close Combat or Brave Bird after.

:amoonguss: - Redirects and lives most things, pretty much ensures that Eevee gets Z off in most situations and can also grant free turns for other stuff on the team to click buttons.

:kingambit: - Has great bulk already, but Assault Vest only improves that making it really challenging to remove late game. Standard moves in Sucker Punch, Knock Off and Iron Head with Brick Break for any Screens as well as opposing Kingambit. Also uses Defiant to make switching in the like of Incineroar or pre-Mega Salamence in risky for the opponent and Tera Fairy to flip a lot of matchups in Kingambit's favor, could also use good and reliable Tera Dark for more damage.

:latios: - Has decent 80/80/110 bulk and hits hard with Modest Soul Dew boosted STABs already, and can do all of this better after clicking Psych Up on a boosted ally. This can turn Latios into a game winning threat due to it's sheer damage and ability to resist most of it's previous weaknesses through Tera Steel. Although, you can (Like on Kingambit) sacrifice this for a more offensive Tera such as Psychic or Dragon, Fire could also work if you drop Dragon Pulse for Mystical Fire.

Building a team of this nature is really not my strong suit, but I do enjoy a good challenge.
  • First thing that came to mind was to have a reliable strategy that would allow Eevee to pass its boosts. As a result, I decided to use a strong lead of Amoonguss and Incineroar to 1) spam Spore and 2) decrease the opposing team's offensive stats.
  • Next, I simply chose mons that I would like to pass Eeevee's boosts to. Mega Latias is an obvious strong contender, but I thought Kyube could be as well.
    • Kyube has a dangerous STAB move as well as what would be a strong coverage move (Body Press) after receiving Eevee's boosts. Kyube also has a good enough bulk and can recover HP by using the move, Roost.
  • For the finishing touch, I decided to use Mew. It's always nice to have another Fake Out user and a medic. Transform makes the situation for the opposing team even worse. I have Dragon Cheer on this team, but that move can be replaced by another.

This week: Volcarona!
For most of the tier’s history, the moth was forgotten or dismissed for being too easy to wall, or not bulky enough to function as good redirection. However, both the standard Quiver Dance sweeper and the bulky support set have had success, with a bulky Volcarona featuring on Schister’s sand balance sample team. The bulky set in particular is notable for having the unique role compression of Tailwind and redirection in Rage Powder. Show the haters that the moth isn’t dead!
Team submissions close at 8am GMT+1 on the 18th of October, and voting will end at 8am GMT+1 on the 21st of October.

Let's gets this party started
:volcarona: good support Mon that matches up well into rillaboom, so I decided to pair with some rilla weak mons
:Aegislash: wide guard bot this team, slotted cc over flash cannon because gambit scares me
:azumarill: rilla weak Mon that because really scary after a single belly drum, which it can do easier with volcarona
:salamence: EV'd to live a specs dazzling without tera from flutter, ddance and killed everything after
:whimsicott: fastest prankster taunt, encore is also disgusting
:landorus-therian: was feeling nostalgic about Oras dou/vgc so here comes the guy from that time

Volcarona Bulky Offense
https://pokepast.es/0d79083f1eca8df8

I'll be honest I'm no good at this tier and this team probably proves why:

:volcarona: Supports the team with Rage Powder to annoy Pokemon like Marshadow and Rillaboom, has Tailwind for speed control, Overheat for a source of immediate power, and Will-O-Wisp to punish bulkier mons like Kyurem-B.
:kyurem-black: Appreciates Rage Powder support and Tailwind from Volcarona as it deals with all the Water-types Volcarona hates with Fusion Bolt.
:landorus-therian: Banded has been working surprisingly well although I doubt its the best choice here - Tera Blast Flying catches a lot of people offguard and it helps versus nicher (?) threats like Kommo-O, as well as handling the usual like Rillaboom. It gives Volcarona a bit more bulk as well with Intimidate and helps get it in versus Ice-types like Chien Pao with U-Turn.
:rillaboom: It's just glue + Fake Out support. Gives me a decent option versus PsySpam and offers priority with Grassy Glide.
:marshadow: Offers a stronger form of priority and a secondary source of power with its unresisted STAB.
:heatran: Wasn't too sure about this but I wanted a more defensive answer to PsySpam without completely losing to Sun Teams with Mega Charizard Y - also gives me a secondary option versus Flutter Mane and Mega Gardevoir, and I suppose Trick Room too but I'm not 100% on that.
