National Dex DOU Teambuilding Competition!!!!! (Week 23: Stakatakatakataka)

This week: Heracross/Mega Heracross!
Mega Heracross is a strange Pokémon; on one hand, its awkward typing gives it vulnerabilities to many common offensive types like fire, fairy and flying, and a severe drawback of being completely walled by certain Pokémon depending on moveset choice. However, its raw power being able to 2hko the entire metagame aside from quad resists and surprising bulk, as well as its base 75 speed tier letting it function in both trick room and tailwind, can make it a worthwhile Pokémon on the right teams.
Base Heracross has not seen any serious use at all unlike its Mega form, but it would be interesting to see how this round of the team building competition uses it.
Teams submissions end 00:00 Saturday 23rd November GMT+0 or whenever at least 2 teams have been posted, whichever is later.

Let's get this party started

:heracross-mega:
The star of the show, when it was announced that M-hera was the chosen mon I had my doubts but after some calcs and thoughts I became a believer. This set features sd rock blast cc text, with you being able to Ohko most of the meta game after a single sd and having almost no mons that resist both moves. The EV's are made to outspeed :chien-pao: and :flutter mane: after a tailwind with the bulky being made to survive 2 ice spinner from Pao.

:kingambit:
Is one the team to hit the ghost types that Hera can't and discourage intimidate users from freely switching in. Standard set.

:tornadus:
Mr Tailwind himself makes an appearance to do what it does best, spam tailwind and bleakwind. Choose z-move to have an explosive special option which combines well with Hera.

:Pelipper:
Best Mon to have both tailwind and wide guard, to protect Hera from hyper voices and dazzling gleam, while also helping torn out and making the chi Yu matchup easier.

:omastar:
Alright I know this looks like a crazy selection but I have my reasons. 1st is that omastar is the strongest special attacker with swift swim and a way to hit Salamence, be that ice beam or Meteor beam. 2nd is that is funny. Tera bug was chosen as a way to deal with :Rillaboom:

:Chien-Pao:
Amps the alright absurd damage of Hera and gambit and it helps deal with mence and flutter. Standard Set.

This mon is horrible, please at least have a cool unmon next time

:Heracross-Mega: :Kleavor: :Chien-Pao: :Rillaboom: :Entei: :Azumarill:

:Heracross-Mega: Featured mon, sadly had to include it here. Speed is to outrun 252+ Base 100s at +1 from Trailblaze, max Attack for good damage and then HP dump. Went for Moxie pre-Mega to get a potential Attack boost.

:Kleavor: Kleavor has a cool niche of Sharpness boosted Stone Axe and Tailwind, just went Tera Ghost 252 Attack and Speed to get the most out of it, can support the team pretty well by setting Tailwind or Stealth Rocks via Stone Axe.

:Chien-Pao: Good support for the pair and strong mon in the tier. Strong mon is just to help break through, especially with Z.

:Rillaboom: Glue mon, Fake Out and U-Turn are nice for pivoting, and Grassy Terrain is able to help out the atrocity that is Mega Heracross.

:Entei: Took inspiration from NDFL for this, makes use of it's Grassy Seed as well as Snarl, Howl and Wisp to be a good disruptor with respectable bulk and Inner Focus to negate counterplay such as Fake Out.

:Azumarill: Took more inspiration, but from Japan's VGC scene this time. Choice Band Azumarill hits hard and rounds off the Fire/Water/Grass core quite nicely, chose this over Fini because Wisp Entei seemed cool.

This week: Chi-Yu!

Chi-Yu has consistently been a good Pokémon since the start of the tier. Various sets have been used, ranging from choice specs and choice scarf on sun teams, grassy seed and sitrus berry setup on goodstuffs, and even defensive assault vest variants on semiroom.

Team submissions open now, and will remain open until the 30th of December 00:00 GMT+0, or until at least 2 teams have been submitted. Good luck!

Yea we Bringing sun Baby with Tera Fire Scarf Chiyu With Tailwind Support to snipe other Tailwind supported mons with Tera fire because the combined HWs of both it and Zard-Y under sun leave 2/3rds of the entire dex on the bench. FirePon comes with a super STAB that breaks Bones under sun with tera and Rilla+Wake resist water while delivering Strong hits as well. and there is our fav Sun Tera Fairy Proto Speed Flutter ❤
PS: Roaring Moon is Underrated

Chi-Yu complements Psy Spam teams well due to its ability to decrease opposing Pokémon's Special Defense and its capability to threaten Rillaboom. I added Rockpon next because I wanted to not only threaten Tapu Fini but also counter common Tailwind setters. Its ability, Sturdy, forces opponents to think twice before attempting to set up Tailwind. I then included Marshadow as a backup to Chi-Yu to handle Steel-types. So far, all Pokémon except Iron Crown have ways to prevent Trick Room. Finally, I added Salamence as the last team member.

Probably won't use this team seriously again;
:charizard-mega-y: :flutter mane: :chi-yu: :glimmora: :ogerpon-hearthflame: :raging bolt:

Built this team for my game two vs Test Bots in round two of Swiss to take advantage of their (at that point) pretty patchy Sun matchups in scouter, but the team ended up being pretty fun.

Mega Charizard Y sets Sun, used a more HP invested spread to live more hits since Modest Overheat, even with the lower investment, does good damage. Flutter Mane is just doing standard stuff and clicking STABs, took inspiration from a variant of Sun for Fairy Z. Scarf Chi-Yu is a decent pick to also just click STABs, can also get very nice positions where it's next to Flutter and just wins games. Glimmora was for a potential Sun mirror as well as setting Stealth Rocks to break opposing Focus Sashes, also for Glimmora mirror to Mortal Spin or absorb Hazards. Ogerpon-Hearthflame is a mon I got pretty comfortable with during testing with her sheer damage as well as the ability to click Follow Me without having to drop other moves on such an offensive structre. Raging Bolt is here to help with the Water matchups and to just click buttons because of it's ridiculous STAB combination and Sun boosted Special Attack stat.

This week: Stakataka!

One of the strongest mons in the tier, being able to tear through everything except Gyro Ball resists thanks to its low speed, STAB, Gyro Ball's insane base power and high attack. It is incredibly versatile, being used on pretty much every archetype imaginable to great success. Being able to set trick room for itself also helps against opposing speed control, especially considering Stakataka itself has an incredible matchup into the common tailwind setters Mega Salamence and Tornadus.

Team submissions open now, and will remain open until February 1st at 00:00 GMT+0, or whenever at least 2 submissions have been made, whichever is later.

Xurkitree Tailroom

Tailroom teams are one of the hardest archetypes to use, but they are also one of the hardest to beat once they gain momentum. Mega Gardevoir is the best Mega for this style of team, and Tornadus complements Mega Gardevoir well. In Trick Room, Stakataka is scary enough, but once you add Banded, Strong Jaw Dracovish into the mix, your opponent is in for some tough time. I'm well aware opponents would try to stall turns with moves like Fake Out. That's why I added Covert Cloak Xurkitree; it's there to ultimately trick them. Last but not least, Incineroar provides Fake Out support and lowers the opposing mons' stats.
