National Dex Doubles Circuit Championship II

Welcome to the 2025 National Dex Doubles Circuit Championship! The top 16 players have been decided after competing in this year's tournament circuit. The winner of the playoffs will be rewarded with a profile banner for one year, and a custom role in the National Dex Doubles Discord.

Thanks to everyone for their participation in the circuit this year.
Have fun!

SPECIFIC RULES

  • This is a standard National Dex Doubles tournament
  • This tournament will be Single Elimination
  • Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown! (Main or SmogTours)
  • To encourage the development of the metagame, and so that everyone is on an even playing field, replays are required for all matches.
  • Activity calls will be made by me, potentially with neutral assistance from a National Dex Doubles Forum Moderator. Coin flips will be done publicly on PS!
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the National Dex Doubles metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round. If there is a difference between the banlist on the forums and on Pokemon! Showdown, PS is considered correct.
  • Do not cheat. Cheating will result in a disqualification. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary. Cheating includes, but is not limited to:
    • Signing up with more than one account
    • Ghosting or being ghosted by another player (e.g. while playing a set, asking for advice about what team to bring or what plays to make)
    • Manipulating match outcomes (e.g. throwing a match in exchange for Smogon likes)
  • Do not harass or insult your opponents. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone breaking this rule. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary.

  • Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.

Points ties were resolved via deepest run (or 2nd deepest) in any tournament, head-to-head, and if all else fails - coinflip. Deepest run is defined as most circuit points earned from a single tournament.

32 points:
SeaLife & Code were tied, but SeaLife won Swiss.

28 Points:
ValiantValerie, gephicka and Steam Buns were tied, but Steam Buns won Ladder Tournament, so Steam Buns takes the highest seed. After that, ValiantValerie took the next slot with 2 10-point runs, compared to gephicka's 10 and 8-point runs as the highest two.

15 points:
Nido-Rus and Enzonana both won a seasonal each - they reserved spots 13 and 14, and a coin was flipped for seeding there. View attachment 791602
After that was resolved, McBruh had a 10-point run in Swiss, compared to IsaiahMeep's 7-point run in Ladder Tournament.

Round of 16

1. Schister vs 16. IsaiahMeep
schister is goat in ndd.
8. Terekusai vs 9. Test Bots
tbh, it's a 50/50 game, terekusai is strong, but test maybe give us a surprise.
4. Steam Buns vs 13. Nido-Rus
although steam buns is the nddlt champion, but I believe in nido more.
5. ValiantValerie vs 12. AKhant
ValiantValerie is a good supporter, I think he will win if he is willing to spend time making matchup.
2. SeaLife vs 15. McBruh
:)
7. Astro Nation Shoe vs 10. Voltix
40/60 I won't say much. anyway, gl both.
3. Code vs 14. Enzonana.
let's meet in tour, code :D
(u know, when we will meet.)
6. gephicka vs 11. Monai
chicken master vs monai, tbh idk much about monai, so let's go gephicka.

I’m bored so let a singles player do some doubles predicts

1. Schister vs 16. IsaiahMeep
8. Terekusai vs 9. Test Bots
4. Steam Buns vs 13. Nido-Rus
5. ValiantValerie vs 12. AKhant
2. SeaLife vs 15. McBruh
7. Astro Nation Shoe vs 10. Voltix
3. Code vs 14. Enzonana.
6. gephicka vs 11. Monai

Schister vs IsaiahMeep : Meep has had a promising rookie year, but Schister's experience and ability to nail meep in the scout should net him a clean win here as long as he doesnt get lazy and overestimate himself.

Terekusai vs Test Bots : Terekusai has had one of the strongest years in doubles (even outside of ND), i think he will comfortably take this

Steam Buns vs Nido-Rus : Steam Buns has looked like a strong clicker recently, and Nido is not known to prep super hard. That being said, nido has been the goat forever so this is looking like one of the best matches this round.

ValiantValerie vs AKhant : close match, dont really know either of these players so not much to say. That being said, Valerie got cleanly swept in nddlt finals without seeming to put much prep in so I'm giving this one to Akhant

SeaLife vs McBruh : SeaLife is the most creative player in a tier that rewards creativity a lot. I am sure he will find a new unfair team to load

Astro Nation Shoe vs Voltix : Shoe has had a promising year so far, but its hard for me to vote against Voltix. That being said, I think Voltix has a few obvious weaknesses in his ND scout so we'll see if Shoe is able to capitalize or if Voltix is able to cover those this time around

Code vs Enzonana. : coin flip for me, either of these players could win here

gephicka vs Monai : gephicka has looked like he has a stronger grasp on the tier than Monai recently, so as long as he capitalizes on that and doesnt overthink his clicks in game I think he will win.

1. Schister vs 16. IsaiahMeep Meep has been looking good but Schister is the number 1 seed for a reason
8. Terekusai vs 9. Test Bots Terekasai is a very strong player
4. Steam Buns vs 13. Nido-Rus Hard to bet against Nido
5. ValiantValerie vs 12. AKhant Prove me wrong Akhant
2. SeaLife vs 15. McBruh SeaLife broken
7. Astro Nation Shoe vs 10. Voltix Could see this go either way but I'm betting on Voltix
3. Code vs 14. Enzonana. Code is gonna go crazy first few rounds and lose in finals imo
6. gephicka vs 11. Monai No bias I swear

Schister (70) vs IsaiahMeep (30): I don't think it'll be a blowout, but schister if he takes it seriously is pretty comfortably favoured.

Terekusai (70) vs Test Bots (30): Same as above, terekusai is built diff.

ValiantValerie (55) vs (45) AKhant : This is an interesting match for me, I think valerie on a good day is one of the stronger players in this bracket, but she seems to struggle with consistency, while AKhant is generally always solid from what I can tell.

SeaLife (60) vs (40) McBruh : I expect a great match but I struggle to see sealife losing based on everything I've seen from him.

Astro Nation Shoe (50) vs (50) Voltix : This is definitely one of the highlights, both great players, I don't see either being favoured.

Code (50) vs (50) Enzonana. : The other highlight, both with excellent recent results, I'm very excited to see the result.

gephicka (60) vs (40) Monai : Not that much to go off honestly, I think monai is a very solid pilot but I trust gephickas understanding of the format more.
