Magnezone usually lures in landorus-t as magnezone cannot ohko it, landorus-t takes 3/4 attacks or 2/3 a magnezone would have and can easily take one without investment even. Even a phys def has a chance to drop to HP ice and that is if it has not taken any damage which defensive landorus-t usually is tasked with checking other pokemon

Pretty normal offensive heatran set, hp ice let you deal a lot of damage to landorus while also deal a good damage to hydreigon, gliscor, garchomp, dragonite. Timid nature lets you outspeed defensive landorus.

Tapu Koko @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Volt Switch
- Dazzling Gleam

EXPLANATION:
The opposing Landorus loves to pivot in on Electric-types to break Volt-Turns and put you in a situation where you lack momentum, especially if Landorus carries a Choice Scarf and is able to retaliate and OHKO Tapu Koko with an Earthquake. However, if you can predict that Landorus will come in, clicking Hidden Power Ice is a safer option that puts you in a better situation than the opponent as HP Ice is guaranteed to almost always OHKO Landorus, with the exception of an uncommon 252/252+ build. On the off chance that the opponent predicts the Hidden Power Ice, you will have to switch out and preserve Tapu Koko as a late game sweeper or a revenge-killer.

Victini @ Psychium Z
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 56 Atk / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- V-create
- Future Sight
- U-turn
- Glaciate

Explanation
Physically defensive Landorus normally comes in as a sponge for V-Create meaning you can bluff a physical set, and lure Landorus in and hit Glaciate. Due to it lowering speed, it is rather reliable as then you can hit off anything else afterwards to KO Landorus, I in particular use Psychium Z on this set as it can also deal with Toxapex - as well as Glaciate into Psychium-Z dropping Specially bulkier Landorus, limiting any over switchin options to preserve Landorus

Just thought I would Clown around with this one. Not much else to say to be honest, it's faster than scarf lando, with a modest nature a base 150 fire move does the job. Lures in scarf lando especially as it outspeeds specs Blac, and doesn't die to regular scarf.

Ok so this is our set to beat. Pretty bulky phisically, as well as having Intimidate to sponge stronger hits. Taking a look to the other sets, I realized that there were almost no physical attackers, only two and in one of them the move used to lure is frequently run, while the other five are special attackers.

I don't like repeating the same idea, but the roll was so perfect that I had to. A physical attacker OHKOing a lured Lando with a (100.5 - 119.3%) roll couldn't be ignored. So featuring the same concept as in the Ferrothorn week...

Ganlon Berry makes Natural Gift Ice-type and basically destroys Lando, no matter what. Defensive Landos will switch in to Intimidate us and set up Rocks / use Toxic / pivot out with U-turn, the perfect moment to either set up or use Natural Gift. Offensive Z-Move or Lefties Landorus will either use Rocks or pivot out with a slower U-turn, so we can fire off Natural Gift.

Though this set may seem unorthodox, it is EXPERTLY ev'd to live Landorus's max attack Earthquake whilst in the shield form, and return the kill with HP Ice, Shadow Claw and CC are used to bluff a physical Aegislash set which can lure in PhysDef Landorus. It was very fun to use in testing so i was happy to share it! (though i must say that setup versions of Landorus, if already setup Aegislash cannot lure as it will just drop.)

Obviously Blissey with its incredible whopping base 75 Spatk stat is the best for killing landorus.
It's not extremely common but it's been run, but ice beam Blissey can shred lando, either as a defensive set to get chip in or specs set to get some DAMAGE.
252+ SpA Choice Specs Blissey Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 540-636 (141.3 - 166.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
heres an incredible calc from specs blissey
and heres a more practical calc
252+ SpA Expert Belt Blissey Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 432-514 (113 - 134.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

The set will be something like this
Blissey (F) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 120 Def / 252 SpA / 136 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
- Soft-Boiled
- Thunder Wave

The reason for the speed is for dual purpose, it will kill defensive lando on switch in, but it also makes it so that you can hit corv and outspeed it, with rocks up you can 2hko usually, and it also outspeeds MMaw usually. So this Blissey set can lure not 1, but 4 extremely scary threats (If you include chomp as well).

Just wanted to get this in cause Adem wanted to see heat. Alas, I didn't bring anything too spicy or broken, but this is just such a good set vs all the common defensive cores right now that I just had to include it. 36 Def is just for that weird moment that you happen to be 1v1ing a defensive Lando without having taken prior damage beforehand as it ensure you live uninvested EQ. You should really just be flinching it to death anyway, so you're good just get lucky, jk of course.

Also, what Lando wouldn't come in on a Jirachi in this current meta? Even if it carried Ice Punch on its Scarf set, Lando would still probably come in. This is so good and you don't even have to predict. Tbh if you're feeling gutsy you don't even need the Icy Wind, just go for the flinch 6 times in a row. Needless to say, Scarf lando can't even come in as its speed is dropped. Also, as a bonus, the set isn't a sitting duck outside of going against Landorus. Its best friends Heatran and Toxapex get mauled by this set too.

EVs: 176 HP / 76 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Relaxed Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Close Combat
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- King's Shield

Though this set may seem unorthodox, it is EXPERTLY ev'd to live Landorus's max attack Earthquake whilst in the shield form, and return the kill with HP Ice, Shadow Claw and CC are used to bluff a physical Aegislash set which can lure in PhysDef Landorus. It was very fun to use in testing so i was happy to share it! (though i must say that setup versions of Landorus, if already setup Aegislash cannot lure as it will just drop.)

some calcs against different landorus spreads:
252 SpA Expert Belt Aegislash-Blade Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 403-475 (105.4 - 124.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Expert Belt Aegislash-Blade Hidden Power Ice vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 403-475 (126.3 - 148.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Expert Belt Aegislash-Blade Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Landorus-Therian: 278-331 (72.7 - 86.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 176 HP / 4+ Def Aegislash-Shield: 240-284 (78.6 - 93.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
0 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 176 HP / 4+ Def Aegislash-Shield: 204-240 (66.8 - 78.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 176 HP / 4+ Def Aegislash-Shield: 266-314 (87.2 - 102.9%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

this was my first proper smog post as well i think and had fun coming up with this idea!

:blissey: by lifemap
:SM/blissey:

:jirachi: by Trade

Jirachi @ Expert Belt
Level: 100
Naive Nature
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 36 Def / 220 SpA / 252 Spe
- Icy Wind
- Iron Head
- Hidden Power Ground
- Thunderbolt

Wow, that’s alot…..Vote for your favorite submission by 10/2 at 11:59 PM GMT!
