Sacred Sword provides Kartana with the ability to punish Heatran and Ferrothorn, Knock Off cripples checks such as Zapdos, and Smart Strike allows Kartana to revenge kill Rocky Helmet Clefable. Given Kartana's nature as a standard pick on offensive teams, one can also forego Smart Strike in favor of Defog, which provides a fast, emergency Defogger. This Kartana set is best utilized with Spikes from Ferrothorn and Pursuit support from Weavile or Mega Tyranitar to remove Mega Latias. Strong breakers such as Mega Mawile and Mega Medicham also synergize well with Kartana due to their ability to break down bulkier teams.
