Project National Dex - Lure That Threat! - Hiatus

With 4 votes, Animemer wins this slate!

Now, coming to the next mon, which is a very painful experience to play against............

CYCLE-3: GARGANACL

:sv/Garganacl:

Garganacl @ Leftovers
Ability: Purifying Salt
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Recover
- Salt Cure
- Protect
- Stealth Rock

Garganacl is a practical Stealth Rock setter due to its high bulk, amazing ability, and access to Salt Cure. Garganacl can safely set up Stealth Rock against common pivots like Ferrothorn, Alomomola, and Slowking-G. Common Defog users like Zapdos, Corviknight, and Moltres can barely threaten Garganacl and take dangerous passive damage from Salt Cure. Other entry hazard removal Pokemon like Landorus-T and Great Tusk also dislike Salt Cure as they rely on Leftovers for passive recovery.
What can you build to lure this mon?

EVs: 76 HP / 48 Def / 252 SpA / 132 Spe

Grass Z solar beam funnis. drag pulse more spammable than draco and it needs a spammable move

This is covert cloak iron treads. Iron treads has good natural bulk and resists salt cure by x4. The only problem is that it takes a lot of chip from salt cure. That is why, I gave it a covert cloak. It becomes immune to the secondary effect of salt cure with it. I gave it supercell slam to do good damage to garg after a tera water. I also gave it tera electric to use in emergency situations where supercell has to do more damage. This set pairs well with mons like tapu koko that can boost the power of supercell slam while also giving it a speed boost. Ice spinner is for coverage and rapid spin gives it the ability to remove hazards. If it doesn't tera water, don't worry, as stab eq already does a lot of damage to garg.

Set incase anyone doesn't want to open the paste-

Iron Treads @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

- Supercell Slam
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin

Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Grass Knot
- Bleakwind Storm
- Heat Wave

Standard Plot Torn-Ts best case scenario is to get the Plot on the switch and force the Garg to either Tera to live the Focus Blast or stay rock in order to resist Supersonic Skystrike predicting the Torn to predict the Tera - blegh, and that's if the Torn-T didn't burn its Z move beforehand. Regardless, Garg has a high chance to get a Salt Cure off and force the Torn out, now able to recover its health back throughout the match.

But now with Expert Belt + Grass Knot it's able to immeadiatly threaten Garg, eliminating the wonkyness of the Flynium scenario, and also freeing up another potential Z user.
Yep!

252 SpA :Expert Belt: :Tornadus-Therian: Grass Knot (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD (and Tera Water) :Garganacl: 216-257 (53.4 - 63.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 SpA :Tornadus-Therian: Grass Knot (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD (and Tera Water) :Garganacl: 180-214 (44.5 - 52.9%) -- 85.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+2 252 SpA :Expert Belt: :Tornadus-Therian: Grass Knot (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD (and Tera Water) :Garganacl: 432-509 (106.9 - 125.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 SpA :Tornadus-Therian: Grass Knot (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD (and Tera Water) :Garganacl: 360-424 (89.1 - 104.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

KING ENGINE (Slowking-Galar) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic Noise
- Sludge Bomb
- Chilly Reception
- Thunder Wave
Slowking-Galar typically cannot touch Gargancl in the slightest. This tech is not meant to snipe and kill Garg, but instead meant to whittle it down. Psychic Noise will prevent leftovers passive recovery, as well as Recover itself after Gargancl switches in. Due to Glowking's slow pivotability, its able to Chilly Reception the next turn to bring whatever mon you would like in order to offensively or defensively pressure Garg, without letting it get off a Salt Cure on the new mon you're bringing in. Glowking can also click Chilly Reception immediately as a midground play. Regenerator allow Glowking not to fear Salt Cure chip, making it the perfect defensive answer to Gargancl. The tera type is set to Dragon as to not let a Water/Steel type be affected by Salt Cure. Thunder Wave is ran as the 4th move as a way to punish the other player if they choose not to switch into Garg.

Now, coming to the next mon,

CYCLE-4: GLISCOR

:sv/Gliscor:

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Tera Type: Fairy / Water
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Spikes / Stealth Rock / Defog
- Toxic / U-Turn
- Earthquake
- Roost

Gliscor is one of the most effective entry hazard setters and Defog users in the tier due to its unparalleled longevity and bulk, letting it outlast or outright beat common hazard removers and setters such as Tornadus-T, Heatran, and Great Tusk. These attributes also provide Gliscor with numerous opportunities to switch in and either set or remove entry hazards against passive Pokemon like Toxapex, Clefable, and Landorus-T. Toxic helps with Gliscor's passiveness and puts its offensive checks like Great Tusk, Tornadus-T, and Urshifu-R on a timer, letting it outlast the former two, which seek to remove its Spikes., while also having reliable recovery in roost.
What can you make to lure this mon?

Don't you hate it when your sweeps are always halted by a stupid blue flying scorpion? Of course you can just calm mind on the switch and tachyon/store power your way through since you live an eq, or live two if you tera into it. But being forced to tera to live more hits in order to set up to where stored power/ tachyon kills is too much effort- and you also run the risk of getting toxic'd!

But don't you just ever want to... let 'er rip? Just blow past it, you know. Well, fret not my friend, because I'm here to introduce to you—yes, you!—our biggest and most recent innovation in the Gen 9 Nationaldex OU tier that'll surely—with upmost certanty—be the answer you were looking for! calm luh ice bolt. Boltbeam coverage is super nice, and pairs well with teammates that hate lando and gliscor, like Koko or Heatran. I’ve used this a bunch and it works super well

VOTING IS UP!
Getting to the voting phase, everyone can only vote for 1 lure.

Tera Ice, Ice Beam :slowking-galar: by Medasus
Tera Ice, Tera Blast :iron crown: by sluGGy
Tera Ice, Tera Blast :raging bolt: by HoodedZack

I decided not to consider toxapex since the set completely deviated it role from a wall to a breaker. On the other hand, a lure is an unexpected move or pokemon used to check a certain threat. That set also did nothing outside the gliscor mu.
Sorry sh0shin
