CYCLE-5: M-SCIZOR

:sv/scizor-mega:

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 112 Def / 128 SpD / 20 Spe
Tera Type: Bug
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off / U-Turn / Close Combat
- Roost

With a great typing and good bulk, Mega Scizor can find opportunities to set up Swords Dance and potentially sweep against the likes of Galarian Slowking, Mega Tyranitar, and Landorus-T. Bullet Punch allows it to cleave through faster threats like Tornadus-T once boosted. Knock Off is an excellent move for punishing switch-ins such as Heatran, Zapdos, and Toxapex by removing crucial items like Leftovers and Heavy-Duty Boots. U-turn is another solid choice, as it keeps Mega Scizor's momentum against threats like Toxapex and Heatran while forming a VoltTurn core alongside teammates like Rotom-W and Zapdos. Close Combat is great for handling irritating Steel-types like Heatran, Archaludon, and Ferrothorn, while also having longetivity in Roost
What lures can you build to beat M-Scizor?

Glorious King (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 76 SpA / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- U-turn

Now with 9/10 Landos choosing defensive helmet sets, Scizors are more than confident in coming in and doing Scizor stuff—setting up on you, gaining momentum, spamming knock. Of course, with Taunt being arguably the best 4th move slot option on Lando, allowing it to keep its own rocks up and preventing other set up, Scizors aren't going to be so trigger happy clicking SD. But they will anyways! So presenting itself as a more defensive lure, here we have the King of Smogon wielding the fiery flames within to stop the metalic bug from forcing progress!

Our King's spread allows it to safely tank desperate hits from the bug, while still outspeeding even the bug's speedier variations. I choose to fully commit to special attacking because of the Spatk needed to guarantee the 2hko on it (it's just the same Spatk needed to OHKO Kart from full with Epower).

76 SpA :Landorus-Therian: Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 128 SpD :Scizor-Mega: 172-204 (50.1 - 59.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO kaboom!

0 Atk Technician :Scizor-Mega: Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def :Landorus-Therian: 78-93 (20.4 - 24.3%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
0 Atk :Scizor-Mega: Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def :Landorus-Therian: 84-99 (21.9 - 25.9%) -- 4.7% chance to 4HKO

+1 0 Atk Technician :Scizor-Mega: Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def :Landorus-Therian: 117-138 (30.6 - 36.1%) -- 46.4% chance to 3HKO
+1 0 Atk :Scizor-Mega: Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def :Landorus-Therian: 125-148 (32.7 - 38.7%) -- 99.4% chance to 3HKO

+2 0 Atk Scizor-Mega Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Tera Fire Slowking-Galar: 237-279 (60.1 - 70.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Uturn gets walled after tera, cc can't beat you if you don't tera

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 248 HP / 164 SpA / 96 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Giga Drain

I'm posting hp fire mvenu. Mvenu can shrug off u turns, ccs, bullet punches and knock offs easily due to its amazing natural bulk. Hp fire can lure in msciz and easily 2hko it. Most msciz's want to switch into venu as it is immune to sludge bomb, 4x resistant to giga drain and it can take epowers very well. Hp fire solves this issue as msciz can no longer safely come into mvenu. I would recommend you to pair it with mons that have a good mu into tran and pex though, since you do end up losing epower despite gaining hp fire. Here are some calcs:

164+ SpA Venusaur-Mega Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 128 SpD Scizor-Mega: 228-272 (66.4 - 79.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

0 Atk Technician Scizor-Mega Bullet Punch vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Venusaur-Mega: 78-93 (21.4 - 25.6%) -- 0.5% chance to 4HKO
0 Atk Scizor-Mega Knock Off vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Venusaur-Mega: 56-67 (15.4 - 18.4%) -- possible 6HKO
I couldn't show calcs for u turn though as the damage calculator forgot that u turn is a move.

+2 252+ Atk :Rillaboom: All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 112+ Def :Scizor-Mega:: 276-325 (80.4 - 94.7%) -- 50% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

0 Atk :Scizor-Mega: U-turn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def :Rillaboom:: 236-278 (69.2 - 81.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery
SD up on a stray glide weak mon with rocks up and there is a good chance scizor gets nab .

Big Meowa

:meowscarada:
Meowscarada @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protean
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flower Trick
- Tera Blast
- Triple Axel
- U-turn
This set is the one chat. I’ve been pairing this dude with Kokos and Bolts. Tera fire meow lets it surprise hit Ferrothorn specifically, but also does huge damage to M-Fraudzor, as well as a decent amount to corv. Tera fire is nice for surprising any steel type other (than heatran) after a flower trick, and eliminating it for whatever teammate you want to pair with kitty cat. This guy is also super helpful as a decent Puddle-Pon check, given it’s typing and speed tier.

CYCLE-6: Offensive Volcarona

:sv/Volcarona:

Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Grass
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Flamethrower
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power Ground

Volcarona is a highly threatening sweeper that can end the game on the spot if given the opportunity to set up a Quiver Dance while being able to force out major threats to the hyper offense teams that it finds itself on such as Swords Dance Mega Scizor. Flamethrower is Volcarona's Fire-type STAB move of choice thanks to its decent Base Power and consistent damage output, although Fire Blast can be used for the extra power, allowing Volcarona to notably have a very high chance to OHKO defensive Landorus-T and Tapu Lele after Stealth Rock and OHKO Gliscor after one Quiver Dance, while Flamethrower cannot. Giga Drain provides good coverage alongside Volcarona's Fire STAB move, allowing it to hit Water-types such as Alomomola and potentially forcing them to Terastallize. Finally, Hidden Power Ground allows Volcarona to hit unexpecting Heatran, which would otherwise be a hard counter to this set.

No reason to use 56hp/200spa without substitute, just make it max spa

Sorry for the delay my broskies, but here we have it!

:sv/Rillaboom:
Rillaboom @ Protective Pads
Ability: Grassy Surge
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 68 HP / 252 Atk / 188 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Grassy Glide
- Tera Blast
- Low Kick

There is no Volcarona more eager to come in on a Rillaboom locked into one of its stabs—but wait, Rillaboom has Terastallized into the Rock-type! Protective Pads is cool since ladder loves to spam the shit out of Moltres. Otherwise, lorb or even meadow plate are some alright options. Oh, and Low Kick > Drain Punch is pretty sweet, you ohko Ferro and Tran after +2, and 2hko mega Sciz and Bolt.

Rock on, peeps!
