Yeah-

252 SpA Charizard-Mega-Y Weather Ball (100 BP Fire) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Magnezone in Sun: 620-732 (220.6 - 260.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Charizard-Mega-Y Weather Ball (100 BP Fire) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rillaboom in Sun: 764-902 (224 - 264.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Charizard-Mega-Y in Grassy Terrain: 72-85 (24.2 - 28.6%) -- 99.2% chance to 4HKO

24 SpA Volcarona Flamethrower vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Magnezone: 282-332 (100 - 117.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
24 SpA Volcarona Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rillaboom: 344-408 (100.8 - 119.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 248 HP / 156 Def Volcarona in Grassy Terrain: 68-81 (18.2 - 21.7%) -- possible 6HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
252+ SpA Magnezone Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Volcarona: 156-184 (41.8 - 49.3%) -- 55.1% chance to 2HKO

even switching in on tbolt from specs beats this core
252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Volcarona: 232-274 (62.1 - 73.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Seeing some interesting Pokemon that are super effective against both Magnezone and Rillaboom which is super cool.

This is a fairly standard set that I find works WONDERS on NatDexOU ladder (I find the most success with it lower on the ladder for some reason).

Dr. Fertilizer (Mew) @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Atk / 20 Def / 136 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Power-Up Punch
- Reflect Type
- Soft-Boiled

This set is super nice because it lets you setup for free on most choiced Pokemon. "Wow" you're probably thinking. Yes.

Unfortunately, Rillaboom 2HKOs Mew (so sad)
252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Wood Hammer vs. +1 252 HP / 20+ Def Grassy Seed Mew in Grassy Terrain: 243-286 (60.1 - 70.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

However, the power of Grassy Seed gives Mew a +1 Defense boost, and you're able to outspeed Adamant Rillaboom and use reflect type to take:
252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Wood Hammer vs. +1 252 HP / 20+ Def Grassy Seed Mew in Grassy Terrain: 121-143 (29.9 - 35.3%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

Very little damage as you can see. Power-Up Punch lets you setup because this is not a situational build and you can use it on many teams for many good matchups. Also, Magnezone is not a real Pokemon and you should not use it.

100 Atk Mew Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Magnezone: 284-336 (101 - 119.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy Mew because it is a good Pokemon and this set is very good.

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Earthquake

Possibility A: come in on magnezone
Ideally setup a dragon dance as you want since it can't quite hurt you too much, you can roost off the thunderbolt damage while corkscrew crash damage can be healed off overtime. however you can easily just click flare blitz as it kills without a boost or kill with +1 eq even with grassy terrain up. be mindful not to drop into grassy glide range or get para by tbolt tho.

Possibilty B: come in on rillaboom
Ideally setup a dragon dance as the most it could is superpower, which you could reactively roost off the damage. Then your dragon just goes crazy and destroy the duo. Try not to get crit tho

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Charizard-Mega-X in Grassy Terrain: 54-64 (18.1 - 21.5%) -- possible 7HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Superpower vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Charizard-Mega-X: 192-226 (64.6 - 76%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

-1 252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Superpower vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Charizard-Mega-X: 128-151 (43 - 50.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

252+ SpA Magnezone Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Charizard-Mega-X: 92-108 (30.9 - 36.3%) -- 63% chance to 3HKO

252+ SpA Magnezone Corkscrew Crash (160 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Charizard-Mega-X: 163-192 (54.8 - 64.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Rillaboom: 554-654 (162.4 - 191.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Magnezone: 452-534 (160.8 - 190%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 252 Atk Charizard-Mega-X Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Magnezone in Grassy Terrain: 292-344 (103.9 - 122.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

We have a tie between Volcarona, and Xard! We’ll need someone to break the tie so we can decide on a winner.

Congrats to WM2N for winning the week!

In the meantime we’ll start the next week with a defensive core of Reuniclus, Skarmory, and Gastrodon.

Get a free switch against skarmory, click tail glow and there goes the opponent's career. This core is super slow meaning that the only way of outspeeding manaphy is through fishing for Thunder paralysis then relying on skarmory to outspeed it. Manaphy is bulky enough to take 2 body presses from skarmory, which is just enough for us to drown the steel bird and reuniclus while OHKOing gastrodon with energy ball after a boost, not allowing the slug to have a chance to clear smog away the boosts.

200+ Def Skarmory Body Press vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Manaphy: 98-116 (28.6 - 33.9%) -- 99.1% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock

Congratulations to Genhui for winning this week of Break this Core!

Our new core will be Victini + Urshifu!

:ss/victini: :ss/urshifu-rapid-strike:

How will you break this Core? Submissions end Friday!

Victini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- U-turn
- Final Gambit
- Trick

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Aqua Jet

Alomomola (F) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Toxic
- Scald
- Protect

could either protect on victini when it's using final gambit, or could wish and thanks to regen, it could switch to cc resist because it will be in the range for shifu-r and come in back again, in both scenarios it just scalds shifu-r then wishes for itself or wishpasses to a surging strikes resist.

252 Atk Choice Band Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Alomomola: 244-288 (45.6 - 53.9%) -- 46.9% chance to 2HKO

it could take a hit and then burn shifu-r with scald

:Sableye-Mega:
Sableye-Mega @ Sablenite :Sablenite:
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Night Shade
- Recover
- Protect
- Will-O-Wisp

Mega Sableye is able to handle the two really well if played correctly. Being a Ghost-type, it can be brought in safely on a choice locked Urshifu or if you predict a Final Gambit from Victini. Since it's a Mega-Evolution, it also can't be tricked a Choice Scarf by Victini. Mega Sableye is able to tank two V-Creates giving it a turn to use Night Shade, and a turn to use Recover right after. Alternating between the two until Victini dies is really easy since Victini lacks proper recovery, and can get choice locked easily. Mega Sableye is a little bit more frail to Surging Strikes from Urshifu, but if it lands a Will-O-Wisp the first turn, Mega Sableye can alternate between Recover, Night Shade, and Protect to use the burn tick damage to Sableye's advantage.

:Victini: -> :Sableye-Mega:
0 Atk Victini V-create vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sableye-Mega: 120-142 (39.4 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

:Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: -> :Sableye-Mega:
252 Atk Choice Band Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sableye-Mega on a critical hit: 174-207 (57.2 - 68%) -- approx. 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band burned Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sableye-Mega on a critical hit: 87-102 (28.6 - 33.5%) -- approx. 0% chance to 3HKO

Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Power Whip

23 March: Will have more explanations later since i'm stuck with this mon due to not realising that the scarf set here has 252 HP instead of 252 Atk

Situation 1: High Health Victini(124/30.7%)
Switch in against urshifu, substitute up after it u-turns, thinking that it could recklessly go for final gambit since it fears the potential tech of power whip or flyinium-z bounce. we dragon dance up as victini breaks the sub with v-create since u-turn won't break it. Dragon Dance again while soaking up the v-create.
331(Max Hp) - 54(u-turn max) - 82(Sub that absorbs v-create) - 105(v-create max roll since we confirmed that it isn't locked to u-turn which will break the sub if we mega and vice versa) - 54(jet max roll) = 36 remaining HP
-1 252 Atk Choice Band Urshifu-Rapid-Strike U-turn vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Gyarados: 46-54 (13.8 - 16.3%) -- possible 7HKO
0 Atk Victini V-create vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Gyarados-Mega: 89-105 (26.8 - 31.7%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Gyarados-Mega: 45-54 (13.5 - 16.3%) -- possible 7HKO
0 Atk Victini U-turn vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Gyarados: 31-36 (9.3 - 10.8%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Situation 2: Low health victini(123/30.4% or lower)
The urshifu have no choice but to stay in and click surging strikes. We shall grab a dragon dance as it does so, staying non mega in case it recklessly click u-turns for some reason, then we would still have enough health to survive a final gambit so we will just grab another ddance if that happens. Otherwise we will just mega and power whip the urshifu since the victini won't switch in, otherwise it will do literally nothing. After that victini will have to final gambit, else it can't ko gyarados
-1 252 Atk Choice Band Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Gyarados-Mega on a critical hit: 129-153 (38.9 - 46.2%) -- approx. 3HKO
-1 252 Atk Choice Band Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Gyarados on a critical hit: 165-198 (49.8 - 59.8%) -- approx. 99.6% chance to 2HKO
+1 252 Atk Mold Breaker Gyarados Power Whip vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Urshifu-Rapid-Strike: 382-450 (112 - 131.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
24 March: Almost there... saving here since i'm gonna sleep and don't want to retype the long paragraph if my computer restarts or some stupid stuff happens.
25 March: don't vote for this one it sucks

In heatran vs urshifu maybe we got a little more complicated. But we still can win. Just a switch to slowbro, if u-turn, go to heatran until the opp doesn't switch. Then we got it.
