Garchomp @ Rockium Z
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock

Garchomp and Scizor are literally my favourite Pokemon. So not only is it amazing that both are very strong Pokemon in NDOU, but also because they get along quite well together.

Garchomp needs setup opportunities to be at its devastating best, and Scizor does provide by U-Turning out on checks like Toxapex, Zapdos, Magnezone etc.. Then Garchomp can proceed to setup or nuke these Scizor checks, providing Scizor with a chance of late game sweep. Scizor can also beat Garchomp checks like Clefable, Slowbro and Tangrowth (without HP Fire) after setup. They also aim to overwhelm shared checks like Corviknight.

Finally, Scizor and Garchomp also provide resistances to each others' weaknesses.

Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Volt Switch

Magnezone is a good partner for msciz, it allows msciz to hit more important things with u-turn because of the threat of bulky answers to it getting trapped by Magnezone. A few examples of a mon switching in on sciz would be corv, corv and corv. :SS/Corviknight:

Zapdos @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 220 Def / 40 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Roost
- Heat Wave

- Hidden Power [Ice]

Zapdos makes for a terrific partner for Scizor, since Scizor can U-turn on physical walls such as Landorus to bring Zapdos in, while providing a good switchin to special attacking ice types like Kyurem

Primarily reverse traps Magnezone for Scizor, but can also infinitely pp stall certain mons thanks to Scizor’s Knock Off and excellent defensive typing.

Tapu Fini is an excellent partner to Scizor. They cover their weaknesses beautifully, with fini beating fire types such as heatran that would switch into Mega Scizor and Mega Scizor switching into poison/grass moves targeting fini. In addition, mega scizor is a sponge for most physical moves while fini could take most special moves well, with 140 def and 130 sp def respectively. Thus. one of them would be able to deal with most offensive threats. Strong special attackers such as Ash Greninja also gets stuffed by Fini. Fini's whirlpool could trap in potential threats to scizor and wear it down with whirlpool chip and nature's madness. Moonblast is a reliable stab move and taunt prevents the trapped target from setting up or inflicting it with status. Mega Scizor could also switch into knock off threatening to shorten fini's longevity by removing leftovers. It could also switch into toxic targeting fini. In addition, Mega Scizor's u turn brings in fini on the targeted fire types/ strong special attackers while its bullet punch could finish off faster pokes that are weakened by whirlpool.
This pair does lose to strong special attackers and heat wave zapdos (or some offensive zapdos), HP fire serperior as well as toxepex. I suggest pairing this with heatran which could tank the special hits and trap the target just like fini. Zapdos is a useful addition as well to deal with toxepex as well as provide defog support, seeing fini has no reliable way of recovery. This pair is well represented on balance teams and bulky offense alike.

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Earth Power
- Dark Pulse

There’s a lot of sets you could run, but this one beats heatran best. Takes fire attacks, likes scizor handling fairies, also likes u turn support.

Non existent OU mon coming in hot:

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 52 Def / 192 SpD / 20 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Earthquake
- Facade

That's right, double sd innit. Scizor's biggest weaknesses are Heatran and Magnezone, both of which Gliscor checks and counters. Scizor also does the same for Gliscor, which is threatened by Kyurem and Weavile, both of which Mega Scizor checks, and counters. The same can be said about other things like Specs Lele, something that Gliscor does not appreciate but Mega Scizor does (rip if hp fire) But I don't think much else needs to be said as both mons are excellent partners for each other, not just SD Gliscor but Utility as well, which can also work considering that eq doesn't need a boost to help out scizor, in fact Utility might be better help to Scizor being a pivot mon itself.

Sand Tomb Mega Scizor

Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite

EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spe
Adamant Nature

- Roost

Bug spam in which Scizor lures in its shared checks like Heatran and Toxapex, dents them with Sand Tomb, paving the way for Volcarona sweep.

Gliscor handles many of Volcarona's checks in Blissey, Heatran or Toxapex and can use them as set up fodder. Gliscor is also capable of absorbing status whilst having the ability to switch into offensive threats such as Tyranitar or Landorus-T for Volcarona.

In turn, Volcarona can reliably switch into most Kyurem sets and offensive Grass types such as Rillaboom for Gliscor. Volcarona threatens checks to Gliscor in Corviknight, Skarmory, and Tangrowth as well. Together, both can easily overwhelm Tapu Fini.

Greetings fellow gamers! I will be taking over this project from Adem and therefore host each new week. Same rules and mechanics as before, except mons that have been selected in the past are now free to be selected for each cycle again, however the points will remain untouched. adem still in the lead with 6 points, will anyone be able to take over?

Congratulations to agslash23 for winning the past week!

This week, the mon that you will need to pair with will be Garchomp!

:ss/garchomp:

What Pokemon will you pair with this wallbreaker?

after running 1000s of games with z-garchomp and its mega on webs ive found the best teammate to it is heatran.
Sneaky Tran (Heatran) @ Steelium Z
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Steel Beam
- Toxic

Z-Heatran is a mon that immediately threatens most common switchins to garchomp like corviknight, buzzwole, landoorus-t, skarmory, weavile, slowbro and gliscor while being an unwallable breaker that always forces progress no matter what the opposing matchup. garchomp is weak to ice, dragon and fairy moves and heatran resists all three easily while also being able to cripple unaware walls with toxic that are commonly used as garchomp checks.

:ss/tapu-fini:
Tapu Fini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 44 SpD / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Moonblast
- Trick
- Defog

Garchomp usually fit on offensive team so I think Fini would be great partner because Tapu Fini fit on offensive team while provide speed control, check for ash greninja, defog and misty terrain. Misty terrain will let garchomp Sword Dance without fearing burn or toxic. Garchomp also have good synergy with Tapu Fini, Garchomp immune electric. This mean Pokémon like Choice locked Tapu Koko and rotom wash will think twice to click electric moves such as volt switch or thunderbolt. 216 speed let you outspeed +1 dragonite.
