Say hello to the new host of Next Best Thing, me! I will take care of the project from now on. Feel free to send me a private message for any suggestion you may have to make the project more enjoyable for you, the users! (seriously, I will appreciate any suggestion a lot)

Now into the project itself, the poor Heatran will be benched for a while. But I know you like Sinnoh as much as I do, so...

Cycle 10.5

Garchomp is an excellent Stealth Rock user that has proved to be a menace for a lot of good Pokemon in the tier thanks to its Z-Moves sets which, when paired with Swords Dance, can throw a nuke to the opponent almost granting a KO if used well. But we are not here because of the Z-moves. Show the best you can do with the land shark. Good luck everyone!

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail / Fire Blast
- Toxic

Tank chomp is quite an effective role compressor on bulky offense, as it can check a bevy of dangerous threats like Heatran, yard(ask adem if u want to know why yard is broken), and Magnezone while compressing a ground immunity and hazard support. R helm rough skin also lets it chip down Phys attackers notably making smth like mlop regret clicking fake out or u turn like nothing else. The EVs are pretty flexible, u could run speed for tran, speed for Offensive Lando or even speed fr lele kyu but I like max speed so u outspeed stuff like medi and thundy t. Dragon tail is there in the 3rd slot cuz fire blast is only really useful against kart and sciz cuz u do piss all to corv but u can use blast too.

The Divine Blunderer

Garchomp @ Blunder Policy
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Rush
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance

Yes, I am aware, Blunder Policy sucks. However, Garchomp doesn't always need the Blunder Policy to activate, it's still the good ol' reliable Chomper. But when it does activate, this guy can sweep teams not prepared for it.

Scale Shot dropping your defense makes it easier for Banded Rillaboom to revenge kill you, and interestingly, non-Choice Band Weavile can't kill with Ice Shard. You do have to land Dragon Rush vs Rillaboom to kill it after +2, so uh, if it misses, it misses.

252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. -1 0 HP / 4 Def Garchomp in Grassy Terrain: 372-438 (104.2 - 122.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Garchomp in Grassy Terrain: 247-292 (69.1 - 81.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Garchomp Dragon Rush vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Rillaboom: 355-418 (104.1 - 122.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Weavile Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Garchomp: 264-312 (73.9 - 87.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

In conclusion, instead of being punished for missing moves, you're rewarded with +2 speed inb4 you miss twice in a row ofc and proceed to sweep

Garchomp @ Eject Pack
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 20 HP / 252 Atk / 180 SpA / 56 Spe
Rash Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tail / Toxic / Fire Blast / Stone Edge

ye.

The main appeal of EPack Garchomp is that it is an amazing momentum generator as well as a strong lure for the likes of Mega Latios, Mega Latias, Corviknight and Skarmory, and works extremely well when paired with a Magnezone to trap the latter two. The given EV spread allows it to outspeed Modest Heatran, OHKO Mega Latios and with Draco Meteor after rocks, and opposing Garchomp without rocks, with max Attack investment for Earthquake and Dragon Tail to still hit hard, and dumped in HP to maximise its bulk; although EVs are still customisable, speed for Bish / Timid Zone / Lando also work, max speed to tie other Garchomps and outspeed base 100s also work, and max HP is fine as well.

180+ SpA Garchomp Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Latios-Mega: 270-318 (89.7 - 105.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
180+ SpA Garchomp Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Latias-Mega: 222-264 (60.9 - 72.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

(Both of these are no longer switch ins, and with the momentum generated from the EPack from Draco number 1, you can force MTias back out, now at 35%.)

180+ SpA Garchomp Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp: 360-426 (100.8 - 119.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

(Cant trade rocks or setup on you any longer)

SANDMAN (Garchomp) @ Bright Powder
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Substitute

Sand Veil Garchomp is the purest incarnation of cheese, which makes it a wonderful choice for this thread. After all, the best way to beat your counters if to have their attacks miss you. As you Swords Dance in their face, their terror rises before being blown apart by +4 or +6 attacks. Substitute also protects Garchomp from unwanted status conditions, and coupled with Earthquake to eviscerate Haze Toxapex, this Garchomp has the potential to be unstoppable, provided Lady Luck is on your side.

Garchomp @ Waterium Z
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail
- Stealth Rock / Scale Shot

This Garchomp set is a very good lure for some of the stuff that stops it like Landorus-T and Corviknight, even better if it's in rain thanks to it actually OHKOing Corviknight. You can choose between Stealth Rock for some role compression or Scale Shot for more sweeping potential.

+2 252 Atk Garchomp Hydro Vortex (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 168+ Def Corviknight in Rain: 428-504 (107 - 126%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 252 Atk Garchomp Aqua Tail vs. 0 HP / 12 Def Landorus-Therian: 316-374 (99 - 117.2%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

This moveset is inspired by Landorus subs/sd Landorus set. On balance team, usually Corv will switch to chomp but uturn wont break subs so it make revenge killing chomp harder with exception of triple axel user such as Weavile, Lop.

Not the what I expected, but congrats to Solaros & Lunaris for winning the Garchomp cycle!!

Now, a mon that used to laugh at Garchomp's Earthquake, but Gamefreak decided to change its ability and send it to UU in SM...

Cycle 11

Gengarchomp is known to be a common pick when looking for a stallbreaker. It can sit on Blissey and set up Substitute and Nasty Plots to destroy whatever that dares to switch in with a boosted Ghostium or Fightinium Z. But Gengar has a very wide and wasted movepool that can make it very unpredictable when being used by crazy people (you!), including superb coverage and a lot of status moves. How will you take advantage of your opponent's linearity?
