cobalion (check)

:sm/cobalion:

Cobalion @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head
- Close Combat
- Taunt

Cobalion can take +1 Meteor Beam followed by Tbolt ,it just dies if Nihilego gets max row after Stealth Rock. Also, for some reason (cobalion is bad) Iron Head has a really low chance to not OHKO Nihilego.

+1 176 SpA Nihilego Meteor Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Cobalion: 89-105 (27.5 - 32.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
+1 176 SpA Nihilego Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Cobalion: 179-211 (55.4 - 65.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
does 97,8 max.
252 Atk Cobalion Iron Head vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Nihilego: 372-438 (98.1 - 115.5%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

EVs: 252 Atk / 164 SpD / 92 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Double Iron Bash
- Thunder Punch
- Earthquake
- Thunder Wave

CHECK! It can 1v1 nihilego fairly well and in a pinch can switch into meteor beam + tbolt and with rocks up and still live to tell the tale

+1 176 SpA Nihilego Meteor Beam vs. 0 HP / 164 SpD Melmetal: 156-183 (37.9 - 44.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
+1 176 SpA Nihilego Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 164 SpD Melmetal: 156-184 (37.9 - 44.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

THE FAT BAT (Gligar) @ Eviolite
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Defog
- Toxic/Knock Off/U-turn

Gligar eats meteor beam into grass knot for breakfast and can ohko back with eq. It's also pretty much the only fogger that fogs on nihilego which is really nice.

+1 176 SpA Nihilego Meteor Beam vs. 252 HP / 200+ SpD Eviolite Gligar: 183-216 (54.7 - 64.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 176 SpA Nihilego Grass Knot (80 BP) vs. 252 HP / 200+ SpD Eviolite Gligar: 81-96 (24.2 - 28.7%) -- 98.9% chance to 4HKO
0 Atk Gligar Earthquake vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Nihilego: 616-732 (162.5 - 193.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

With an even vote on Cobalion and Gligar, my own vote will go to Gligar. Congrats to R1C3M4N for winning this weeks' round! Your submission will be added to the Hall of Fame shortly.

Let's move onto the next one, this week's Victim will be none other than Volcanion.

Volcanion @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Steam Eruption
- Flamethrower
- Substitute
- Toxic

Substitute + Toxic turns Volcanion into a balance menace that can easily get going against the plethora of Pokemon afforded to it by its unique typing. The Water + Fire STAB combination definitely proves itself to be a worthwhile match for its equally menacing appearance in this offensive role.

Deadline for submissions will be on the 23rd of March, Good luck.

Altaria-Mega @ Altarianite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Body Slam
- Heal Bell / Refresh
- Roost

Submitting this as a counter

Basically abuses the fuck out of Volcanion. Toxic or Steam Eruption just get healed off with Heal Bell or Refresh, and you wall Volcanion’s dual STAB combo because of your Dragon-typing and good bulk.

You also can switch in consistently because of healing yourself with Roost, and Dragon Dance allows you to break through Volcanion easier.

Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 188 SpD / 68 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Refresh

Toad is immune to Steam Eruption and take minimal damage from Flamethrower, while Refresh heal any Toxic attempt from Volcanion. Seismitoad can easily 2HKO Volcanion with Earthquake too.

0 Atk Seismitoad Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Volcanion: 176-210 (58.4 - 69.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Volcanion Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Seismitoad: 93-110 (22.4 - 26.5%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

Keldeo-Resolute @ Leftovers :Leftovers:
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Scald
- Secret Sword

Keldeo, resisting both of Volcanion's STABs can continously set up Calm Mind behind Substitute making it progressively harder to break with Steam Eruption or Flamethrower. Behind Substitute, Keldeo is immune to Volcanion's Toxic stall and in return, breaks Volcanion's Substitute with ease.

Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Future Sight
- Sludge Bomb
- Scald
- Flamethrower

Glowbro doesn't care about Toxic and is semi-reliably able to stave off Steam Eruptions, it obviously breaks sub with Sludge Bomb and Volcanion can't risk a poison after its Sub is broken.
