  • Follow all rules listed here.
  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for hosts to make decisions for activity calls when I can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to the hosts or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • Managers: Please send me your lineups in the same format that I used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.

I am only doing predicts for weaviles vs starmies cause that's the only one that interests me + has playoff implications outside of our own series

Wired Weaviles (6) vs (4) Age of the Starmies
SV Ubers: skimmythegod vs shieldpoke - skimmy is a top 3 ubers player in this tour and beat all the other big names, shieldpoke has had some good wins but not as impressive of a run
SV OU: pdt vs ezra - call me fuckin crazy for this one given how pdt's season started, but when bro locks in he's one of the nuttiest players I've ever seen
SV OU: Lily vs Mimikyu Stardust - another one I'll get called crazy for given the disparity in how there seasons have gone, but at this point in the tour everyone kinda knows how mimi will prep and that may not bode well for him
SV OU: sealoo vs DripLegend - idt either guy is super crazy but sealoo has the edge in experience and is capable of much bigger wins
SV UU: Rasche vs LBN - rough season for LBN but this is also his first showing on uu so I think he could turn things around here, kinda funny I am bolding all the ultra negative guys tho
SV RU: Micaiah vs sasha - this has been a breakout tour for both players, honestly kind of a tossup rn but I wanna say sasha will cook harder
SV DOU: eragon vs laptops - I am the biggest eragon glazer altho laptops is no slouch and could def take this especially since eragon has gotten outprepped at times, but still gotta bold my goat
SS Monotype: Splash vs Scarfire - splash loading favorable mus just to mald and call them bad mus has been one of the funnier things to me this tour and I kinda just wanna see it again
SS OU: Luthier vs Isza - holy highlight match, this will def be everyone's match of the week, kinda impossible to call this one I'm just throwing a dart at the board here
SS OU: kDCA vs Tenebricite - also kind of a tossup damn, dca has done better than I initially gave him credit for and tene is always fire, really cool so many games are this close to a 50/50

Looks like I have weaviles qualifying, altho I would not be surprised at all to see it be starmies, these teams feels so much more evenly matched that I initially woulda thought, hope all these games get linked in the server cause they got some absolute bangers here

Week 6 In Review- NDUbers

Game 1: Emoxu9 v Skimmythegod

Team Preview

Emoxu9's team appears to be the old sample stall. Maybe they made some edits to it, but I really didn't like that team then and I don't like it now. Skimmys team is possibly their Week 4 team with Mega Salamence over Eternatus which better matches up into the more offensive builds Emoxu9 has been running recently and Arceus-Electric. These are the #2 and #3 players in the pool imo and the match I was most looking forward to in this pool outside of Entro v Skimmy.

Matchup [70-30 for Skimmy]

The big thing is whether or not Skimmy actually did reuse their week 4 team and slap Mega Salamence over Eternatus. If they did this is going to be quite an uphill battle for Emoxu9. Their primary wincon is going to be through setting entry hazards early and then well hopefully preventing things from getting out of hand. If this is indeed again Knock Off LO Yveltal it is going to be an uphill battle regardless. Skimmy's team seems pretty set to be able to plow through with pressure.

Game

Skimmy leads with Primal Groudon while Arceus-Dark leads for Emoxu9. Emoxu9 gets up rocks as Primal Groudon gets some good chip with Precipice Blades and then gets rocks up as Giratina-O comes in. Primal Groudon takes a Toxic in exchange for some Overheat chip on Giratina-O. A few turns later lots of double switching has happened, Skimmy reveals Arceus-Electric is Calm Mind and accepts a burn on Necrozma-DM as it trades for Arceus-Dark.

Emoxu9 manages to set Toxic Spikes and Giratina-O is sacced and Necrozma-DM is revenged by Eternatus afterwards. Zacian-C comes in and scares out Eternatus into Ho-Oh for some reason. A few turns Dozo reveals liquidation and Tera is burnt on Zacian-C to delete Eternatus which is the only real threat left as 6 Dynamax Cannons would likely be enough to finish of Skimmy otherwise. The rest of the game is pretty smooth sailing from here.

Additional Thoughts

Yeah so I really dislike this stall team. I don't recall it having Wisp, but other than that I'm not sure if Emoxu9 made any changes. The big reason why I hate it is the Tera Steel Giratina-O. Giratina aside from just being a fat piece of shit, plays a crucial role in helping against mixed Primal Groudon which fry Dondozo (and Ho-Oh more often these days as well). Overheat is the most common of these moves with Eruption being uncommon and Fire Blast being rare. This isn't worth giving up the combination of pressure to quickly deplete the low PP moves that are among the most threatening to stall, but Tera Steel means that Primal Groudon can now fry you and the same is true with Rayquaza's V-Create. The Ground immunity, less bulk, and lack of leftovers isn't worth it in the slightest imo. Viable stall exists outside the current sample, but I'm not really sure it should contain Giratina-O. Someone mentioned at some point it helped with Dragon Claw Primal Groudon which is not real enough to merit consideration given the opportunity costs.

Arceus-Electric is a surprising bring. I'm not really sure what it is supposed to cover or bring to the table. Ho-Oh i guess?

Game 2: Fogbound Lake v Entrocefalo

Team Preview

Fogbound is running the current sample stall. Entro has an unusual webs team. Discussed this team with him before the game and it is defensive Primal Kyogre, Dragon Dance Zygarde, sub agility Basculegion, Play Rough CC Zacian-C, and Rapid Spin Smeargle.

Matchup [55-45 for Entro]

Stall does generally have a pretty good matchup against a lot of HO, but Entro's team is closer to a Webs BO than HO. Fogbound best path to victory will be getting up Stealh Rock + a Toxic Spike early. Putting Zygarde on a timer and chipping through Primal Kyogre's Rests will help a lot. Entro in turn has to do his best to prevent that from happening. Zygarde is going to be a key player as forcing Dondozo to Tera Fairy opens up the game a lot for Primal Kyogre. It has the longevity to put in work while poisoned, but if it is toxiced it will struggle. Forcing a tera with something midgame helps Entro plan for the endgame. The tools to win this game are here, but there is not a large margin for error.

Game

Entro's Smeargle leads off v Fogbound's Eternatus. Nuzzle comes out as Eternatus Toxics to break the Focus Sash. Zacian-C comes in as a Toxic Spike goes up. Dondozo comes in and Zacian-C trades itself to keep Dondozo low and without a boost. Primal Kyogre comes to force it out. Entro gets Smeargle in and manages to spin and Eternatus comes in. It trades two layers of Toxic Spikes for webs and paralysis. Primal Kyogre comes in and there are a few turns of the usual Primal Kyogre v Chansey sequence and then Fogbound gets Dondozo in on a Rest turn and gets a Rest off as Primal Kyogre wakes up.

Chansey comes in and Entro makes a gamble that Chansey will use Heal Bell, but Smeargle comes in on a Seismic Toss. Arceus comes in and Entro doubles to Primal Kyogre as Fogbound boldly stays in and Heal Bells. A couple of turns later Entro gets in Basculegion which reveals boots and chunks Arceus-Dark with Wave Crash.

On Turn 33 Fogbound elects to Defog and I'm not sure why. Getting rid of the webs is nice, but with two layers of Toxic Spikes having those dig into Zygarde is pretty important. Entro realizes that and gets it in and Dragon Dances on a switch to Eternatus and then Substitutes on the Toxic. He doesn't tera, maybe expecting Dondozo to switchin and as a result fails to KO Eternatus who gets a Toxic Spike up. Playing this game without that Toxic Spike is easier.

Zygarde does Zygarde things and eventually forces Fogbound to Tera Fairy Dondozo. Primal Kyogre then switches in an unfortunately takes a nasty crit and Scalds instead of Resting and takes Eternatus down with it. Arceus finds itself in front of Giratina and gets a little bit of chip with +1 Shadow Claw before Zygarde is Dragon Tailed in. A few turns later Basculegion comes in on Dondozo and Last Respects is now powerful enough to break though. Chansey comes in and Arceus comes in. The game plays itself out as Entro is unable to break the stall.

Additional Thoughts

I do think Entro had the ability to win. It is a winnable matchup, but there is not much margin for error. However, Fogbound did give him a fair few openings in Defogging away the Toxic Spikes and staying in on Eternatus. If Entro had tera'd there it would be ggs. Primal Kyogre outspeeds the whole team and has enough PPs combined with Basculegion which Chansey cannot touch. It would have taken a while, but I think that Zygarde, Primal Kyogre, and Basculegion could have broken through given Dondozo could be forced to Tera Fairy.

Game 3: Zuzhouwawa v :shieldon::poke-ball:

Team Preview

Zuz is rolling up with what appears to be a triple ground BO or balance. Defensive Primal Groudon, any Ho-Oh, an offensive Arceus-Ground, Dragon Dance Zygarde, wallbreaker Eternatus, and OTR or DD Necrozma-DM are my guesses. ShieldPoke has used Shucca or Drag-Z Etern for a while now so I'll assume it is that. I think SD Utility Primal Groudon, defensive Ho-Oh, Taunt Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy, LO Yveltal, and defensive Primal Kyogre is most likely.

Matchup [55-45 for Zuz]

Zuz's main in condition seems to be creating something with whichever or both of Zygarde and Arceus-Ground are offensive. Eternatus is also a threat to wallbreak or sweep, I don't think it does both. ShieldPoke's Arceus-Fairy looks to be a pretty big threat if it is Calm Mind while Primal Kyogre is quite threatening if it is defensive in the long term. Yveltal's Sucker Punch can also play a pretty role in preventing things from getting out of hand. Ultimately I think Zuz is likely to barrage through ShieldPoke's defensive core before they're able to position things for a win, though it can easily go either way.

Game

Zuz's Necrozma-DM leads off against Shield's Eternatus. Primal Groudon comes in as Stealth Rock goes up and lead Ultra Necrozma is revealed and heavily chunks Primal Groudon as it sets a layer of Spikes. Primal Kyogre comes into the second Earth Power and dies to LTBTS. Yveltal comes in and scares it out as Eternatus enters on Sucker Punch. Yveltal Tera Flies and dodges a Meteor Beam. Eternatus reveals that is the wallbreaker set as it Recovers on another Sucker Punch and Ho-Oh comes in to phase it. Zuz's Primal Groudon is dragged in and Zuz doubles to Zygarde whilst Shield doubles to Eternatus.

Zuz then reveals Tera Fairy on Dynamax Cannon and Glares Eternatus. Arceus-Ground switches into a Toxic and Eternatus then sets a layer of Toxic Spikes and Shucca lets it trade with Arceus-Ground. Zuz sends in Eternatus to absorb the Toxic Spike and Shield sends in Ho-Oh which phases it on a Recover and drags in Primal Groudon again who reveals Heat Crash and takes a Toxic. Zuz doubles to Zygarde while Shield doubles to Primal Groudon which succumbs to Thousand Arrows. Arceus-Fairy comes in and tries to set up, but offensive Ho-Oh is able to trade with it.

Zuz's Ultra Necrozma now faces off against Shield's Ho-Oh. It misses Stone Edge and Eternatus is dragged in. Ho-Oh phases that into Primal Groudon and takes it down before being revenged by Ultra Necrozma. Yveltal revenges that with Sucker Punch, but is within range and goes down to Dynamax Cannon.

Additional Thoughts

Stealth Rock Lead Ultra Necrozma really put on a show here. I think you sac the Primal Groudon after Earth Power is revealed as it seems like Primal Kyogre has a chance at winning the long game. It was a decent game and one I enjoyed watching, nothing really much to say beyond that. Ended up spending my free time on Sunday getting reqs for the Miraidon test instead of writing this so it is a day late.
