[OVERVIEW]

With solid stats across the board backed up by Prism Armor, a lethal signature move in Photon Geyser, Calm Mind to boost its high Special Attack, and Heat Wave to nail Steel-types, Necrozma is a premier wallbreaker in RU. Its flagship set, the Calm Mind sweeper, is capable of punching large holes early-game and can blow past teams once its checks have been sufficiently dealt with. Necrozma is also capable of running an offensive Stealth Rock set that capitalizes on its great matchups against Donphan and every offensive Defogger in the tier, and it has methods of circumventing the entry hazard removers it can struggle against, such as Psychium Z for Mega Blastoise and Toxic for Mandibuzz. However, the Stealth Rock set faces competition from Metagross, which has a Steel / Psychic typing and an incredible physical movepool, and Nidoqueen, which can threaten a wider variety of Pokemon with its powerful STAB and coverage moves. Necrozma's base Speed of 79 is great, allowing it to get the jump on Mega Blastoise and Nidoqueen, but being unable to outspeed Drapion, Gardevoir, and Goodra can be problematic at times. Necrozma faces competition as a Psychic-type Calm Mind user with Sigilyph and Espeon, which can't be hit by Toxic, and Cresselia, which is weaker but far bulkier. However, Necrozma's great combination of power, bulk, and Speed make it more well-rounded than these options, so it is the primary choice for teams looking for a Psychic-type Calm Mind user.

Moves
========
Photon Geyser is Necrozma's primary STAB move, dealing massive damage to any foe not resistant or immune to it after a boost. It also bypasses abilities, most notably OHKOing standard Donphan through Sturdy at +1. Heat Wave hits Steel-types that resist Photon Geyser, notably Forretress, Bronzong, Registeel, and Metagross. Calm Mind beefs up Necrozma's Special Defense and jacks up the power of Photon Geyser to incredible levels. Moonlight is used to let Necrozma stay healthy and set up multiple Calm Mind boosts against special attackers or weak physical attackers that can't 2HKO it.

Set Details
========
A Timid nature is preferred to outspeed threats such as Mega Blastoise, Nidoqueen, Bewear, and Machamp. Firium Z powers up Heat Wave into a one-time Inferno Overdrive to blow past Steel-types that could otherwise take a hit and use Toxic on Necrozma. It also has the nice property of not being able to be removed by Knock Off, meaning Necrozma won't take additional damage from the move as it attempts to set up. Psychium Z can also be used to turn Photon Geyser into Shattered Psyche to blow past dedicated special walls like Florges, but Necrozma gives up the Steel-melting prowess of Firium Z. Prism Armor is Necrozma's only ability and eases its setup against Pokemon with super effective coverage like Mega Blastoise. It also notably allows Necrozma to survive Insect Plate Golisopod's First Impression from full HP and OHKO it back after a boost.

Usage Tips
========
Necrozma can be brought in against Pokemon that it can force out, such as Roserade, Nidoqueen, Noivern, and Raikou, and proceed to set up Calm Mind. Double switching to bring it in can also be effective to preserve Necrozma's health. Necrozma can either be used early-game to set up and break holes in the opposing team or be preserved until mid- or late-game to set up and sweep once its checks have been weakened or removed. Moonlight and Photon Geyser only have 8 PP each, so they should only be used when necessary to heal or secure KOs. Heat Wave is a safe move to throw out that doesn't burn down the PP of Photon Geyser and can be powered up into Inferno Overdrive to beat Pokemon that could otherwise take Heat Wave or Photon Geyser and use Toxic on Necrozma in return, namely Steel-types like Metagross, Registeel, and Bronzong. Opposing Toxic users should be weakened to the point where Necrozma can easily remove them with one of its attacks.

Team Options
========
As Necrozma struggles against Dark-types, Pokemon that can handle them like Fairy- and Fighting-types work well with it. Florges can provide cleric support and threaten Mandibuzz, Honchkrow, and Houndoom with Moonblast. Florges also appreciates Necrozma's ability to handle Steel-types. Hariyama can take on Houndoom comfortably as well. Pokemon that can threaten bulky Psychic-types such as Slowbro, Cresselia, and opposing Necrozma, like Golisopod and Escavalier, make for good teammates. Alternatively, teammates that can use Toxic on them to whittle their health away work as well. Necrozma appreciates entry hazard support in order to put checks like Florges and Snorlax into KO range, so Stealth Rock and Spikes support from the likes of Nidoqueen, Registeel, and Roserade is welcome. Pokemon that appreciate Steel-, Fighting-, and Poison-types removed, such as Mega Sceptile, Snorlax, and Shaymin, greatly appreciate Necrozma's ability to deal with them. Noivern is a great partner because of its ability to scare off Golisopod as well as bring Necrozma in with a U-turn.

Moves
========
Photon Geyser serves as Necrozma's obligatory STAB move, giving it a way of dealing good damage against most neutral targets outside of dedicated special walls. Heat Wave is nigh-essential coverage to not be walled by Steel-types like Metagross and Forretress. However, if said Steel-types can be comfortably handled by Necrozma's team, Knock Off can be run over it to soften them up. Moonlight lets Necrozma stay healthy against potential entry hazard removers that cannot 2HKO it so it can continue to lay Stealth Rock against their team. Power Gem can also be used for a stronger immediate hit on Mandibuzz and Houndoom, both of which can beat Necrozma otherwise. If more PP for healing is desired, Recycle can be substituted in over Moonlight at the cost of being somewhat less reliable.

Set Details
========
A Timid nature is preferred to outspeed Mega Blastoise and Nidoqueen. Psychium Z is used to land significant damage on entry hazard removers like Mega Blastoise, as well as providing a stronger hit to break through neutral targets that might otherwise survive a Photon Geyser, like maximum HP Donphan, Defog Flygon, and Noivern. If Moonlight is not being used, Wiki Berry can instead be run to give Necrozma a one-time restoration of its health. However, Wiki Berry is mandatory if running Recycle.

Usage Tips
========
Early- or mid-game is where this variant of Necrozma shines, being able to dent opposing Pokemon with its STAB and coverage moves as well as set up Stealth Rock. Bring Necrozma in on Pokemon that don't directly threaten it like Gardevoir, Roserade, and Virizion, and set Stealth Rock. Necrozma can use Toxic against walls it can't directly threaten, so don't be afraid to throw out the move liberally and catch switch-ins like Slowbro off guard. Keeping Necrozma away from Toxic is paramount, as bad poison damage slices into its longevity and can force it to use its Berry or burn Moonlight's PP unnecessarily. If Necrozma is carrying Wiki Berry instead of Psychium Z, keep it away from Pokemon that commonly carry Knock Off.

Team Options
========
Pokemon that are weak to Fighting like Tyrantrum and Curse Snorlax appreciate Necrozma's ability to scare away Machamp, Bewear, and Virizion; the latter is an especially notable teammate to partner with this Necrozma, as it greatly appreciates both Fighting-types being dealt with and Stealth Rock being set up to bolster its sweep. In return, Snorlax can switch into Toxic for Necrozma if it's a Rest or Immunity variant. Necrozma struggles to break through Dark-types and is highly susceptible to their attacks. Machamp, Virizion, and Bewear work well as teammates to break down these Pokemon. They can also pressure Registeel and Bronzong, which are bulky enough to take even boosted Heat Wave and use Toxic on Necrozma back. Setup sweepers such as Raikou, Barbaracle, and Toxicroak appreciate Stealth Rock being up and fit well on the balanced offense teams this set often finds itself on. Roserade makes for an excellent partner as well, as it is able to set up Spikes to add to Necrozma's offensive pressure and enjoys Steel-types being weakened or removed.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
========
A bulky EV spread utilizing greater investment in defenses with Toxic and Knock Off can be used, as this set can be difficult for many teams to play around, albeit at the cost of much wallbreaking power. A physically based Swords Dance set with Buginium Z can be used to surprise the bulky Psychic-types that check most Necrozma, like Cresselia and Slowbro, but falls short in practice due to how easily it can be walled by Mandibuzz. An EV spread of 172 HP / 84 SpA / 252 Spe with a Timid nature can be used to survive a Choice Band Golisopod's First Impression from full HP while retaining the aforementioned Speed benchmarks at the cost of some power. If said Speed benchmarks are unnecessary, an alternate EV spread of 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD with a Modest nature can be used. A spread of maximum HP and maximum Speed can also be used to combine greater bulk and the ability to outpace sub-base 79 Speed Pokemon, but the drop in power is noticeable. The Calm Mind set can run Power Gem over Moonlight on more fast-paced offense that can't afford to be stopped by Mandibuzz or Houndoom, but the lack of recovery seriously hurts Necrozma, as a Z-Crystal is needed for wallbreaking, so pinch Berries can't be used. Calm Mind or Toxic can be used over Moonlight on the Stealth Rock set to put more pressure on bulky walls, but forgoing Moonlight can cause Necrozma to be stretched too thinly at times. Protect can be used to scout for Choice-locked revenge killers and coverage moves and to avoid being hit by Golisopod's First Impression, but Necrozma usually cannot afford to drop one of its other moves.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Psychic-types**: Cresselia, Slowbro, and Slowking care very little about either Photon Geyser or Heat Wave, fearing only Toxic from the Stealth Rock set. In return, they can use Toxic on Necrozma in return or use it as setup fodder if carrying Calm Mind.

**Dark-types**: Mandibuzz, Houndoom, and Drapion all pose a huge threat to Necrozma, as they are able to either wall it, deal huge amounts of damage to it with their STAB attacks, or both. Houndoom deserves a special mention, as it's immune to both Heat Wave and Photon Geyser.

**Residual Damage**: Necrozma absolutely despises Toxic, as it limits its staying power and it has no way to block the move. Entry hazards can also cause issues, as they push Necrozma into KO range of certain attacks or can force it to use Moonlight, losing some momentum.

**Special Walls**: Florges and Snorlax can take even boosted hits from Necrozma and proceed to either use Toxic on it or use it as an opportunity to set up Curse, respectively.

**Revenge Killers**: Revenge killers like Choice Scarf Tyrantrum and Golisopod can revenge kill Necrozma or force it out with their powerful attacks even after it accumulates multiple Calm Mind boosts. Priority attacks like Sucker Punch from Toxicroak and Honchkrow and Bullet Punch from Metagross can threaten to KO a weakened Necrozma.

some edits: revised a lot of the language to make it clearer, added the four spd evs and fixed the ugly spacing as per roman's request, and changed language away from "sweeper" to calm mind user/wallbreaker/setup threat as per cryo's request. also added credits and changed power gem to calm mind on offensive rocker set, and updated move descriptions accordingly.

added flexible EV spread details in OOs

Friendly am check. This was a lot to look over, but implement what you think is good.
[OVERVIEW]
  • With solid defensive stats backed up by Prism Armor, a lethal signature move in Photon Geyser, Calm Mind to boost it’s high Special Attack, and Heat Wave to nail Steel-types, Necrozma is a premier wallbreaking threat in RarelyUsed. If anything, it has solid stats across the board.
  • Necrozma’s flagship set, the Calm Mind sweeper, can blow past entire teams once its checks have been sufficiently dealt with, but is susceptible to Toxic and being walled by bulky Psychic-types like Cresselia and Slowbro, or forced out by certain offensive threats like Golisopod or Houndoom. Toxic and being forced out by Golisopod and Houndoom is true of all the sets, not just the Calm Mind one. And why lump a positive trait with a negative trait?
  • Necrozma is also capable of running an offensive Stealth Rock set but suffers from having more stiff competition for this role than its sweeper set, namely from Nidoqueen and Metagross. Again, why lump a positive and a negative in the same point? Why do Metagross and Nidoqueen give Necrozma competion? That's important information that a new reader needs to know when considering Necrozma.
  • A base Speed of 79 is great, allowing Necrozma to get the jump on Mega Blastoise and Nidoqueen, but being unable to outspeed Drapion, Gardevoir, and Goodra can be problematic at times. Same as before.
  • Necrozma does face some competition as a Psychic-type Calm Mind user with Sigilyph and Espeon, who can’t be hit by Toxic, and Cresselia, who’s far bulkier but weaker, however, Necrozma’s great combination of power, bulk, and speed tier combine for an excellent middle ground, making it the primary choice for teams looking for a Psychic-type Calm Mind user.
  • You need to seperate your positives from negatives to help with the flow of your analysis. As is, it's a little jumbled. The last point is ok, because it justifies Necrozma's use as a bulky Calm Mind user.

Moves
========
  • Photon Geyser is Necrozma’s primary STAB move, dealing massive damage to anything not resistant or immune to it after a boost. You need to mention it avoids abilities. IE, this threatens Donphan.
  • Heat Wave covers Steel-types that resist Photon Geyser, notable Forretress, Bronzong, Registeel, and Metagross.
  • Moonlight is used to stay healthy and setup against special attackers that can’t bring it down easily.
  • I would make a mention for Calm Mind, still, and mention why it's a great user of the move.

Set Details
========
  • A Timid nature is preferred over Modest due to Timid being able to outspeed Mega Blastoise. List some other stuff it outspeeds and threatens (MACHAMP!)
  • Firium Z allows Heat Wave the be powered up into a one-time nuke to blow past Steel types that could otherwise take a hit and Toxic Necrozma. It also has the nice side effect of not being able to be Knocked Off, meaning Necrozma won’t take additional damage from the move as it attempts to set up.

Usage Tips
========
  • Once any checks have been weakened or removed, send out Necrozma against a Pokemon that doesn’t threaten it, like Gardevoir, Noivern, Raikou, or Machamp, and proceed to set up Calm Mind.
  • Avoid Toxic like the plague, as it puts Necrozma on a timer. For this reason, it’s advised to chip common Toxic spreaders like Milotic, Florges, Registeel, or Cresselia, who could otherwise live either a Photon Geyser or Inferno Overdrive and Toxic Necrozma.
  • This Necrozma is best used mid- to late-game after most of its checks have been sufficiently weakened to the point of it being able to sweep, or it can be used more in the early-game to punch holes, but is more liable to be hit by Toxic without it's defensive switchins substantially chipped.
  • This whole section needs to be beefed up and it's flow is all over the place. Here's how I would have done this:
    1) When to use Necrozma
    2) How to bring it into battle
    3) Moonlight & Photon Geyser mention
    4) When to use the Z-move
    5) Toxic mention
Team Options
========
  • As Necrozma struggles against Dark-types, Pokemon that can handle those, like Fairy- and Fighting-type Pokemon work well with it. Florges can provide cleric support and threaten Mandibuzz, Honchkrow, and Houndoom with a Moonblast. Hariyama can take on Houndoom comfortably as well.
  • Pokemon that can threaten bulky Psychic-types like Slowbro, Cresselia, and other Necrozma, like Golisopod, Houndoom, and Honchkrow, work great as teammates too. Alternatively, using Toxic on them to whittle their health away works just as well. You already mentioned Houndoom and Honchkrow. I would pick other examples just to avoid repetition.
  • Necrozma appreciates entry hazard support in order to wear down and put checks like Florges and Snorlax into KO range, so Stealth Rocks and Spikes support from the likes of Nidoqueen, Registeel, and Roserade are welcome.
  • What about Pokemon that appreciate Fighting- and Poison-types gone? I can also think of a few Pokemon that appreciate Necrozma's ability to threaten Metagross. Also, pivots should be mentioned. And Pokemon that can threaten Golisopod?

  • Heat Wave is used as essential coverage to not be walled by Steel-types. Like?
  • Calm Mind can be used to bolster Necrozma's damage output against targets that struggle to harm it, as well as giving it some cushion against powerful special attacks, like Mega Blastoise's Dark Pulse and Gardevoir's Moonblast. Alternatively, Toxic can be run to cripple defensive walls like Mandibuzz and Cresselia that fear Necrozma very little otherwise. Toxic needs a bullet of its own.
  • Power Gem can also be used for a stronger immediate hit on Mandibuzz, but leaves Necrozma unable to do anything meaningful to Florges, Snorlax, Cresselia, or Milotic besides set up Stealth Rock, and can easily be hit by Toxic in return.

Set Details
========
  • A Timid nature is preferred to be able to outspeed and threaten Mega Blastoise and Nidoqueen with Photon Geyser.
  • Wiki Berry is used as the item slot to give Necrozma a good source of recovery, albeit a one-time use, in place of Moonlight on one of the moveslots. Alternatively, Weakness Policy can be used, but Necrozma is usually too slow to sweep and can be easily forced out, nullifying the item’s effects. I would move Weakness Policy to OO, but I'd see what a QC Member says.
  • Mention Psychium Z. If running Calm Mind, it can OHKO Mega Blastoise and severely dent Florges and Snorlax. That's an important thing to note. Hell, I would run it over Wiki Berry to be honest. But again, see what QC says.

Usage Tips
========
  • Early- to mid-game is where this Necrozma shines, able to dent opposing Pokemon with it’s STAB and coverage, as well as setting up Stealth Rock. This is correct, by WHY is Necrozma an excellent Stealth Rock setter?
  • Bring Necrozma in on Pokemon that don’t directly threaten it, like Gardevoir, Roserade, or Virizion, and set up Stealth Rock.
  • Necrozma can spread Toxic against walls it can’t directly threaten, so don’t be afraid to throw out the move rather liberally to catch switchins like Slowbro off guard.
  • Keeping Necrozma away from Toxic is paramount, as it slices into its longevity and can force out it’s berry uncomfortably early. Knock Off is also a huge issue for Necrozma, so keep it away from Pokemon that carry the move.
  • Like I said earlier, you should mention other things like being cautious of spamming Moonlight and Photon Geyser. And if you decide to go with Psychium Z, mention it can KO Mega Blastoise with a boost and severy dent anything that doesn't resist it.

Team Options
========
  • Necrozma makes a great natural Fighting-type check, scaring away Bewear, Virizion, and Machamp for a Fighting-weak teammate like Tyrantrum or Snorlax to go to work.
  • Curse Snorlax is an especially volatile teammate to partner with this Necrozma, as it greatly appreciates both Fighting-types being dealt with and Stealth Rock up to bolster it’s sweep. Snorlax in return can take Toxics aimed at Necrozma, if it’s a Rest or Immunity variant. I think you can merge this with the previous point. Doesn't need its own bullet.
  • Necrozma struggles against Dark- and Steel-types, struggling to break through them and being highly susceptible to their attacks. Machamp, Virizion, Zygarde-10%, and Donphan work great for breaking down these Pokemon. Donphan can also clear away entry hazards, extending Necrozma’s longevity. But Necrozma runs Heat Wave on this set... Why does it struggle with Steel-types?
  • Setup sweepers such as Raikou, Barbaracle, and Toxicroak appreciate Stealth Rocks being up and fit naturally well alongside Necrozma on the balanced offense teams this set often finds itself on.
  • I would add a pivot core or Pokemon can help heal it. It can potentially clean late-game if its checks and counters are gone. I also want stuff that can threaten Golisopod mentioned. Actually, add Spikes setters: they add to the offensive pressure that Necrozma provides.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
========
  • A physically-based Swords Dance set with Buginium Z can be used for its surprise factor but falls short in practice due to how easily it can be walled by Mandibuzz.
  • The Calm Mind set with Power Gem over Moonlight can also be used for more fast-paced offense that can’t afford to be stopped by Mandibuzz or Houndoom, but the lack of recovery seriously hurts it, as a Z-crystal is needed for breaking, so pinch berries can’t be used. You kind of mention this in the Stealth Rock set, but I think this is ok to bring up to the moves section for that set.
  • I personally would move Weakness Policy here. Maybe Rock Polish, but I'd wait on what a QC member says.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Psychic-types**: Cresselia, Slowbro, Slowking, and Uxie care very little for either Photon Geyser or Heat Wave, fearing only Toxic from the Stealth Rock set, and can Toxic Necrozma in return or use it as setup or Stealth Rock fodder. Why is Uxie mentioned? It's not that good... I would rather just delete that one since you list a lot of decent examples already.

**Toxic**: Necrozma absolutely despises Toxic, having no way to block the move itself outside of the unviable Lum Berry on it’s sets, as Toxic chips into its above average bulk and limits the turns it can do its job. If Lum Berry is unviable, why mention it at all? It also gets chipped by coming in on resisted hits and entry hazards, so I would just rename this section as "Residual Damage".

**Special walls**: Florges and Snorlax can take even boosted hits from Necrozma and then proceed to either Toxic it or use it to set up Curse.

**Revenge killingKillers**: Faster revenge killers, like Choice Scarf Tyrantrum or Golisopod can revenge kill or force Necrozma out with their powerful attacks hitting its weaker physical Defense. Golisopod isn't fast, it just has an amazing priority move in First Impression. Other scarfers are just as bad, not just Tyrantrum. Also, mention other priority move users.

**Dark-types**: Mandibuzz, Houndoom, and Drapion all possess a huge threat to Necrozma, being able to either wall it, deal huge damage to it with their STAB attacks, or both. Houndoom is also immune to Necrozma's Heat Wave thanks to Flash Fire. Might want to mention that.

Knock Off is also a huge issue for Necrozma, so keep it away from Pokemon that carry the move. unless running psych z

Team Options
========
  • Necrozma makes a great natural Fighting-type check, scaring away Bewear, Virizion, and Machamp for a Fighting-weak teammate like Tyrantrum or Curse Snorlax, who's an especially volatile teammate to partner with this Necrozma, as it greatly appreciates both Fighting-types being dealt with and Stealth Rock up to bolster it’s sweep. Snorlax in return can take Toxics aimed at Necrozma, if it’s a Rest or Immunity variant.
  • Necrozma struggles against Dark-types, struggling to break through them and being highly susceptible to their attacks. Machamp, Virizion, and Bewear work great for breaking down these Pokemon. Said Fighting-types also can put good damage onto Registeel and Bronzong, who are bulky enough to take even +1 Heat Wave and Toxic Necrozma back.
  • Setup sweepers such as Raikou, Barbaracle, and Toxicroak appreciate Stealth Rocks being up and fit naturally well alongside Necrozma on the balanced offense teams this set often finds itself on.
  • Roserade makes an excellent partner as well, able to set up Spikes to add to Necrozma's offensive pressure, and also enjoys Steel-types being pressured.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
========
  • A physically-based Swords Dance set with Buginium Z can be used for its surprise factor but falls short in practice due to how easily it can be walled by Mandibuzz.
  • Necrozma's EV spread is not set in stone, as a spread of 172 HP / 84 SpA / 252 Spe with a Timid nature can be used to live Choice Band Golisopod's First Impression from max HP, while still retaining speed benchmarks at the cost of some power. If said speed benchmarks are unneeded, an alternate spread of 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD with a Modest nature can be used. also mention max hp max speed cm
  • The Calm Mind set with Power Gem over Moonlight can also be used for more fast-paced offense that can’t afford to be stopped by Mandibuzz or Houndoom, but the lack of recovery seriously hurts it, as a Z-crystal is needed for breaking, so pinch berries can’t be used. mention it takes advantage of the teams with these mons as their checks, theyre usually amazing mus for this set bc the team is left super vulnerable to necro
  • also mention protect for goli + scouting choiced mons but u cant rlly afford to drop a move
Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Psychic-types**: Cresselia, Slowbro, and Slowking care very little for either Photon Geyser or Heat Wave, fearing only Toxic from the Stealth Rock set, and can Toxic Necrozma in return or use it as setup or Stealth Rock fodder.

**Residual Damage:**: Necrozma absolutely despises Toxic, having no way to block the move itself, as it limits Necrozma's staying power. Entry hazards can also cause issues, pushing Necrozma into kill range of certain attacks.

**Special walls**: Florges and Snorlax can take even boosted hits from Necrozma and then proceed to either Toxic it or use it to set up Curse.

**Revenge killers**: Revenge killers like Choice Scarf Tyrantrum or Golisopod can revenge kill or force Necrozma out with their powerful attacks hitting its weaker physical Defense. Priority attacks like Sucker Punch from Toxicroak and Honchkrow, or Bullet Punch from Metagross can threaten to KO a weakened Necrozma.

**Dark-types**: Mandibuzz, Houndoom, and Drapion all possess a huge threat to Necrozma, being able to either wall it, deal huge damage to it with their STAB attacks, or both. Houndoom deserves a special mention, as it's immune to both Heat Wave and Photon Geyser.

[OVERVIEW]
  • With solid stats across the board backed up by Prism Armor, a lethal signature move in Photon Geyser, Calm Mind to boost it’s high Special Attack, and Heat Wave to nail Steel-types, Necrozma is a premier wallbreaking threat in RarelyUsed.
  • Necrozma’s flagship set, the Calm Mind sweeper, is capable of punching large holes early game and can blow past weakened teams once its checks have been sufficiently dealt with.
  • Necrozma is also capable of running an offensive Stealth Rock set that capitalizes on it's great matchups against Donphan and every offensive defogger in the tier, and has methods of circumventing the hazard control it can struggle against, such as Psychium Z for Mega Blastoise and Toxic for Mandibuzz.
  • However, the Stealth Rock set has competition from Metagross, who has it's Steel typing and incredible physical movepool, and Nidoqueen, who can threaten a wider variety of Pokemon due to it's powerful STABs and coverage.
  • A base Speed of 79 is great, allowing Necrozma to get the jump on Mega Blastoise and Nidoqueen, but being unable to outspeed Drapion, Gardevoir, and Goodra can be problematic at times.

Moves
========
  • Photon Geyser is Necrozma’s primary STAB move, dealing massive damage to anything not resistant or immune to it after a boost. It also bypasses abilities, most notably OHKOing standard Donphan at +1.
  • Heat Wave covers Steel-types that resist Photon Geyser, notably Forretress, Bronzong, Registeel, and Metagross.
  • Moonlight is used to stay healthy and setup against special attackers that can’t bring it down easily.
  • Necrozma's bulk, pure Psychic typing, powerful STAB, and Prism Armor make it an excellent user of Calm Mind, able to set up with ease against many of the most common threats in RU.

Set Details
========
  • A Timid nature is preferred to outspeed threats such as Mega Blastoise, Nidoqueen, Bewear, and Machamp.
  • bullet on psych z

Usage Tips
========
  • Necrozma can be brought in against Pokemon that it can force out, such as Roserade, Nidoqueen, Noivern, or Raikou, and proceed to set up Calm Mind. Double switching to bring it in can also be effective to preserve Necrozma's bulk.
  • Necrozma can either be used early-game to set up and break holes, or be kept until the mid- or late- game to set up and sweep once it's checks have been weakened or removed.
  • Moonlight and Photon Geyser should be preserved, as they only have 8PP each and should be used when necessary to heal or secure kills.
  • Heat Wave can be powered up into Inferno Overdrive to beat a Pokemon that could otherwise live Heat Wave or Photon Geyser, and Toxic Necrozma in return, namely Steel-types like Metagross, Registeel, or Bronzong.
  • Any and all opposing Toxic users should be chipped to the point where Necrozma can easily remove them with a Photon Geyser.

Team Options
========
  • Pokemon that can threaten bulky Psychic-types like Slowbro, Cresselia, and other Necrozma, like Golisopod and Escavalier work great as teammates too. Alternatively, using Toxic on them to whittle their health away works just as well.
  • Necrozma appreciates entry hazard support in order to wear down and put checks like Florges and Snorlax into KO range, so Stealth Rocks and Spikes support from the likes of Nidoqueen, Registeel, and Roserade are welcome.
  • Pokemon that appreciate Fighting- and Poison- types removed, such as Mega Sceptile, Snorlax, and Shaymin greatly appreciate Necrozma's ability to deal with them easily. These Pokemon all also appreciate Necrozma's threatening and removal of Steel-types.
  • Noivern is a great partner for it's ability to scare off Golisopod, as well as bring Necrozma in with a U-Turn.
  • Keep Necrozma away from Toxic. Florges appreciates Necrozma's ability to handle Steel-types and can provide Heal Bell support.

  • Power Gem can also be used for a stronger immediate hit on Mandibuzz, but leaves Necrozma unable to do anything meaningful to Florges, Snorlax, Cresselia, or Milotic besides set up Stealth Rock, and can easily be hit by Toxic in return. also mention houndoom. remove milo, it refreshes toxic and hazes calm mind so you lose either way (spdef is also becoming more common). ur also making it seem like a really bad option when its an ok move. make it look like more of a "use it when ur team rlly needs it" move

Nice work! This is an AMGP check, implement what you want.

General comments:
  • Keep in mind "it's" = "it is"
  • Try not to use moves as verbs, eg. "use Toxic on Cresselia" rather than "Toxic Cresselia"
  • You should generally use "and" when listing teammates instead of "or"

Moves
========
Necrozma's great raw power, crucial speed tier, and Prism Armor-backed bulk come together to create one of the most feared setup sweepers in RarelyUsed. (this kind of stuff goes in the overview) Photon Geyser is Necrozma’s primary STAB move, dealing massive damage to anything not resistant or immune to it after a boost. It also bypasses abilities, most notably OHKOing standard Donphan through Sturdy at +1. Heat Wave covers hits (subjective change) Steel-types that resist Photon Geyser, notably Forretress, Bronzong, Registeel, and Metagross. Moonlight is used to lets Necrozma stay healthy and set up multiple Calm Mind boosts against special attackers Pokemon (does it need to be special attackers specifically? can't you also set up on really weak physical attackers?) that can’t bring it down easily 2HKO it. Necrozma's aforementioned qualities make it the tier's most reliable Calm Mind user, Calm Mind beefing beefs up it's special defense Necrozma's Special Defense and jacking jacks up the power of Photon Geyser to incredible levels. (since this is the 3rd move, this should go before the sentence about moonlight)

Set Details
========
A Timid nature is preferred to outspeed threats such as Mega Blastoise, Nidoqueen, Bewear, and Machamp. Firium Z allows Heat Wave to be powered up into a one-time nuke to blow past Steel types that could otherwise take a hit and use Toxic on Necrozma. It also has the nice side effect property of not being able to be Knocked Off removed by Knock Off (it's not recommended to use moves as verbs), meaning that Necrozma won’t take additional damage from the move as it attempts to set up. Psychium Z can also be used as an incredibly strong nuke to blow past dedicated special walls like Florges, but gives up the Steel-beating (Steel-melting? subjective change, ofc) prowess of Firium Z. Prism Armor is Necrozma's only ability (RC) and eases its setup against Pokemon with super effective coverage like Mega Blastoise. (AP) It notably allowing allows Necrozma to live Insect Plate Golisopod's First Impression from full HP and KO it back.

Usage Tips
========
Necrozma can be brought in against Pokemon that it can force out, such as Roserade, Nidoqueen, Noivern, or Raikou, and proceed to set up Calm Mind. Double switching to bring it in can also be effective to preserve Necrozma's bulk health (bulk refers to its stats, which don't change). Necrozma can either be used early-game to set up and break holes, or be kept preserved (subjective change) until the mid- or late-(remove space)game to set up and sweep once it's its checks have been weakened or removed. Moonlight and Photon Geyser should be preserved, as they (you repeat this later) only have 8PP 8 PP each, (AC) and so they should only be used when necessary to heal Necrozma or secure kills. Heat Wave is a safe move to throw out without burning that doesn't burn the PP of Photon Geyser PP, and can be powered up into Inferno Overdrive to beat a Pokemon that could otherwise live it standard Heat Wave or Photon Geyser (RC) and use Toxic on Necrozma in return, namely Steel-types like Metagross, Registeel, or and Bronzong. Any and all Opposing Toxic users should be chipped weakened to the point where Necrozma can easily remove them with a Photon Geyser one of its attacks (doesn't have to be pg in particular, right?) before attempting to sweep.

Team Options
========
As Necrozma struggles against Dark-types, Pokemon that can handle those them (RC) like Fairy- and Fighting-types (parallelism) Pokemon work well with it. Florges can provide cleric support and threaten Mandibuzz, Honchkrow, and Houndoom with a Moonblast. Florges also appreciates Necrozma's ability to handle Steel-types and can provide Heal Bell support for it (repetition). Hariyama can take on Houndoom comfortably as well. Pokemon that can threaten bulky Psychic-types such as Slowbro, Cresselia, and other opposing Necrozma, like Golisopod and Escavalier, work great well as teammates too. Alternatively, using Toxic on them Pokemon that can use Toxic on these Psychic-types to whittle their health away works work just as well. Necrozma appreciates entry hazard support in order to wear down and (redundant) put checks like Florges and Snorlax into KO range, so Stealth Rocks Rock and Spikes support from the likes of Nidoqueen, Registeel, and Roserade are is welcome. Pokemon that appreciate Fighting- and Poison-(remove space)types removed (RC) such as Mega Sceptile, Snorlax, and Shaymin greatly appreciate Necrozma's ability to deal with them easily. These Pokemon all also appreciate Necrozma's threatening and removal of Necrozma luring in and KOing Steel-types (i assume you made this a separate sentence because you wanted to say Necrozma *lures* steels, not just removes them. otherwise, why not just say "Pokemon that appreciate Fighting-, Poison-, and Steel-types removed ..."). Noivern is a great partner for it's because of its ability to scare off Golisopod (RC) as well as bring Necrozma in with a U-Turn U-turn. Keep Necrozma away from Toxic at all costs. (this should go in usage tips)

Moves
========
Photon Geyser serves as Necrozma's obligatory STAB move, giving Necrozma a way of putting out having good damage output against most neutral targets it hits neutrally outside of dedicated special walls. Heat Wave is used as nigh-essential coverage to not be walled by Steel-types like Metagross and Forretress. However, if said Steel-types can be comfortably handled by Necrozma's team, Knock Off can be ran run over it to soften them up. Moonlight is used to lets Necrozma stay healthy against potential entry hazard removers that cannot 2HKO it and so it can continue to lay Stealth Rock against their team. Power Gem can also be used for a stronger immediate hit on Mandibuzz, but leaves Necrozma unable to do anything meaningful to Florges, Snorlax, or Cresselia besides set up Stealth Rock, and can easily be hit by Toxic in return. (i checked and the set has changed since this was in wip. with the current set, it cannot do anything to these mons anyway) However, the move has good use for hitting Houndoom, who otherwise beats Necrozma handily and to hit Houndoom. If recovery is desired, Moonlight or Recycle can be substituted in, but only use Recycle if running Wiki Berry. Recycle is an alternative form of recovery that should be used with Wiki Berry; it has the benefit of (pros), but (cons).

Set Details
========
A Timid nature is preferred to be able to outspeed and threaten Mega Blastoise and Nidoqueen with Photon Geyser. Psychium Z is be used for a powerful hit on entry hazard removers like Mega Blastoise, as well as a stronger hit to break through neutral targets that might otherwise live a Photon Geyser, like full maximum HP Donphan, (AC) or and Defog Flygon or and Noivern that can live a Photon Geyser. If Moonlight is not being used, Wiki Berry can instead be ran run to give Necrozma a one-time heal restoration of its health.

Usage Tips
========
Early- to mid-game is where this Necrozma variant shines, as it is able to dent opposing Pokemon with it’s its STAB and coverage moves (RC) as well as setting up set Stealth Rock. Bring Necrozma in on Pokemon that don’t directly threaten it (RC) like Gardevoir, Roserade, or and Virizion (RC) and set up Stealth Rock. Necrozma can spread use ("spread ... against" doesn't sound right) Toxic against walls it can’t directly threaten, so don’t be afraid to throw out the move rather liberally to and catch switch-ins (AH) like Slowbro off guard. Keeping Necrozma away from Toxic is paramount, as it bad poison slices into its longevity and can force out it’s it to use its Berry uncomfortably early. Knock Off is also a huge issue for Necrozma, so keep it away from Pokemon that carry the move unless it's holding Psychium Z. (since psychium z is the first slashed item, i would make this sound like the exception rather than the rule: "If Necrozma is holding Wiki Berry, keep it away from Pokemon that carry Knock Off.")

Team Options
========
Necrozma makes a great natural Fighting-type check, scaring away Bewear, Virizion, and Machamp for a Fighting-weak teammate Pokemon that are weak to Fighting like Tyrantrum or and Curse Snorlax, who's appreciate Necrozma's ability to scare away Bewear, Virizion, and Machamp; the latter is an especially volatile notable ("volatile" means "changing") teammate to partner with this Necrozma variant, as it greatly appreciates both Fighting-types being dealt with and Stealth Rock up being set to bolster it’s its sweep. Snorlax in return can take Toxics aimed at switch into Toxic for Necrozma (RC) if it’s a Rest or Immunity variant. Necrozma struggles against Dark-types, struggling to break through them Dark-types and being is highly susceptible to their attacks. Machamp, Virizion, and Bewear work great for breaking well as teammates to break down these Pokemon. Said Fighting-types They also can can also put good damage onto pressure Registeel and Bronzong, who which are bulky enough to take even boosted Heat Wave and use Toxic back on Necrozma back. Setup sweepers such as Raikou, Barbaracle, and Toxicroak appreciate Stealth Rocks Rock being up and fit naturally (redundant) well alongside Necrozma on the balanced offense teams this set often finds itself on. Roserade makes for an excellent partner as well, as it is able to set up Spikes to add to Necrozma's offensive pressure (RC) and also enjoys Steel-types being chipped weakened or removed.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
========
A bulky EV spread utilizing greater investment in defenses with Toxic and Knock Off can be used, albeit at the cost of much breaking power, as this set can be difficult for many teams to play around, but this comes at the cost of much breaking power (pros first, cons last). A physically-based Swords Dance set with Buginium Z can be used for its surprise factor (to surprise bulky Psychic-types such as [...]?), (AC) but falls short in practice due to how easily it can be walled by Mandibuzz. Necrozma's EV spread is not set in stone, as An EV spread of 172 HP / 84 SpA / 252 Spe with a Timid nature can be used to live Choice Band Golisopod's First Impression from max full HP (RC) while still retaining the aforementioned Speed benchmarks at the cost of some power. If reaching the said Speed benchmarks are is unneeded, an alternate EV spread of 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD with a Modest nature can be used. A spread of maximum HP and maximum Speed can also be used for combining to combine greater bulk and outspeeding with the ability to outpace anything under base 79 Speed, but the drop in power is noticeable. The Calm Mind set with can run Power Gem over Moonlight can also be used for on more fast-paced offense teams that can’t afford to be stopped by Mandibuzz or Houndoom, but the lack of recovery seriously hurts it Necrozma, as since a Z-Crystal is needed for breaking, so pinch Berries can’t be used. It's worth noting that this provides Necrozma with a great way of beating teams that rely on the aforementioned Dark-types as their Necrozma answers, however. (doesn't really add anything) Calm Mind or Toxic can be subbed in used over Moonlight on the Stealth Rock set to either break or threaten bulky walls more effectively put more pressure on bulky walls, but this forgoing Moonlight can cause Necrozma to be stretched too thin at times. Protect can be used to scout for Choice-locked revenge killers (RC) and coverage moves (RC) and to beat avoid being hit by Golisopod's First Impression, but it usually cannot afford to drop one of it's its other moves.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Psychic-types**: Cresselia, Slowbro, and Slowking care very little for either Photon Geyser or Heat Wave, fearing only Toxic from the Stealth Rock set. (AP) and They can use Toxic on Necrozma in return or use it as setup fodder if they have Calm Mind.

**Residual Damage(remove colon)**: Necrozma absolutely despises Toxic, having no way to block the move itself, as it limits Necrozma's staying power and Necrozma has no way to block the move. Entry hazards can also cause issues, pushing as they push Necrozma into kill KO range of certain attacks. (status and entry hazards are quite different things. toxic is severely crippling obviously, whereas if necro has moonlight then hazard damage is meh. i would split this into two different bullets, Status Conditions and Entry Hazards, or just rename this to Status Conditions and remove the part about entry hazards)

**Special Walls**: Florges and Snorlax can take even boosted hits from Necrozma and then proceed to either use Toxic on it or use it as an opportunity to set up Curse, respectively.

**Revenge Killers**: Revenge killers like Choice Scarf Tyrantrum or and Golisopod can revenge kill or force Necrozma out with their powerful attacks hitting its weaker physical Defense (necro actually has higher def than spd, if you want to keep this maybe rephrase it as "even after it has accumulated Calm Mind boosts"). Priority attacks like Sucker Punch from Toxicroak and Honchkrow (RC) or and Bullet Punch from Metagross can threaten to KO a weakened Necrozma.

**Dark-types**: Mandibuzz, Houndoom, and Drapion all pose a huge threat to Necrozma, being as they are able to either wall it, deal huge damage to it with their STAB attacks, or both. Houndoom deserves a special mention, as it's immune to both Heat Wave and Photon Geyser. (should this not be higher up as the 1st/2nd bullet?)

With solid stats across the board backed up by Prism Armor, a lethal signature move in Photon Geyser, Calm Mind to boost it’s its high Special Attack, and Heat Wave to nail Steel-types, Necrozma is a premier wallbreaking threat wallbreaker in RarelyUsed. However, the Stealth Rock set has faces competition from Metagross, who which has it's a Steel typing and an incredible physical movepool, and Nidoqueen, who can threaten a wider variety of Pokemon due to it's with its powerful STABs STAB and coverage moves. It's Necrozma's base Speed of 79 is great, allowing Necrozma it to get the jump on Mega Blastoise and Nidoqueen, but being unable to outspeed Drapion, Gardevoir, and Goodra can be problematic at times. Necrozma does face some competition competes as a Psychic-type Calm Mind user with Sigilyph and Espeon, who both of which can’t be hit by Toxic, and Cresselia, who’s weaker but far bulkier but weaker (mentioning pros last flows more smoothly here). However, Necrozma’s great combination of power, bulk, and Speed tier combine for an excellent middle ground make it more well-rounded than these options, making it the primary choice for teams looking for a Psychic-type Calm Mind user.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

========

========

Photon Geyser is Necrozma’s primary STAB move, dealing massive damage to anything not resistant or immune to it after a boost. Moonlight is used to stay healthy and set up multiple Calm Mind boosts against special attackers or weak physical attackers that can’t can't 2HKO it.

Set Details

A Timid nature is preferred to outspeed threats such as Mega Blastoise, Nidoqueen, Bewear, and Machamp. Firium Z allows Heat Wave to be powered up into a one-time nuke to blow past Steel-(AH)types that could otherwise take a hit and use Toxic on Necrozma. It also has the nice property of not being able to be removed by Knock Off, meaning Necrozma won’t won't take additional damage from the move as it attempts to set up. Psychium Z can also be used as an incredibly strong nuke to blow past dedicated special walls like Florges, but it gives up the Steel-melting prowess of Firium Z. Prism Armor is Necrozma's only ability and eases its setup against Pokemon with super effective coverage like Mega Blastoise. It also notably allows Necrozma to live survive Insect Plate Golisopod's First Impression from full HP and KO it back.

Usage Tips
========
Necrozma can be brought in against Pokemon that it can force out, such as Roserade, Nidoqueen, Noivern, or Raikou, and proceed to set up Calm Mind. Double switching to bring it in can also be effective to preserve Necrozma's health. Necrozma can either be used early-game to set up and break holes in the opposing team, (RC) or be preserved until mid- or late-(Remove space)game to set up and sweep once it's its checks have been weakened or removed. Moonlight and Photon Geyser only have 8 PP each, (AC) and so they should only be used when necessary to heal or secure kills KOs (Kill is a banned phrase, except in revenge kill). Heat Wave is a safe move to throw out that doesn't burn down the PP of Photon Geyser, (RC) and can be powered up into Inferno Overdrive to beat a Pokemon that could otherwise live take Heat Wave or Photon Geyser, (RC) and use Toxic on Necrozma in return, namely Steel-types like Metagross, Registeel, and Bronzong. Opposing Toxic users should be weakened to the point where Necrozma can easily remove them with one of its attacks.

Team Options
========
As Necrozma struggles against Dark-types, Pokemon that can handle them, like Fairy- and Fighting-types work well with it. Florges can provide cleric support and threaten Mandibuzz, Honchkrow, and Houndoom with Moonblast. Florges also appreciates Necrozma's ability to handle Steel-types. Hariyama can take on Houndoom comfortably as well. Pokemon that can threaten bulky Psychic-types such as Slowbro, Cresselia, and opposing Necrozma, like Golisopod and Escavalier, work well as teammates too. Alternatively, teammates who that can use Toxic on them to whittle their health away work as well. Necrozma appreciates entry hazard support in order to put checks like Florges and Snorlax into KO range, so Stealth Rock and Spikes support from the likes of Nidoqueen, Registeel, and Roserade is welcome. Pokemon that appreciate Steel-, Fighting-, (AC) and Poison-types removed, such as Mega Sceptile, Snorlax, and Shaymin greatly appreciate Necrozma's ability to deal with them. Noivern is a great partner because of it's its ability to scare off Golisopod as well as bring Necrozma in with a U-Turn U-turn.

A Timid nature is preferred to outspeed Mega Blastoise and Nidoqueen. Psychium Z is used for a powerful nuke on entry hazard removers like Mega Blastoise, as well as a stronger hit to break through neutral targets that might otherwise live survive a Photon Geyser, like maximum HP Donphan, and Defog Flygon, (AC) and Noivern that can live a Photon Geyser. If Moonlight is not being used, Wiki Berry can instead be run to give Necrozma a one-time restoration of its health. However, Wiki Berry is mandatory if running Recycle.

Usage Tips
========
Early- to or mid-game is where this variant of Necrozma shines, able to dent opposing Pokemon with it’s its STAB and coverage moves as well as set up Stealth Rock. Bring Necrozma in on Pokemon that don’t don't directly threaten it like Gardevoir, Roserade, and Virizion, and set Stealth Rock. Necrozma can use Toxic against walls it can’t can't directly threaten, so don’t don't be afraid to throw out the move liberally and catch switch-ins like Slowbro off guard. Keeping Necrozma away from Toxic is paramount, as bad poison damage slices into its longevity and can force it to use it's its Berry uncomfortably early or burn otherwise unnecessary Moonlight PP. If Necrozma is carrying Wiki Berry instead of Psychium Z, keep it away from Pokemon that commonly carry Knock Off.

Team Options
========
In return, Snorlax in return can switch into Toxic for Necrozma, (RC) if it’s it's a Rest or immunity variant. Necrozma struggles to break through Dark-types and is highly susceptible to their attacks. Machamp, Virizion, and Bewear workwork well as teammates to break down these Pokemon.(Add space)They can also pressure Registeel and Bronzong, which are bulky enough to take even boosted Heat Wave and use Toxic on Necrozma back. Setup sweepers such as Raikou, Barbaracle, and Toxicroak appreciate Stealth Rock being up and fit well alongside Necrozma on the balanced offense teams this set often finds itself on. Roserade makes for an excellent partner as well, able to set up Spikes to add to Necrozma's offensive pressure and enjoys Steel-types being weakened or removed.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
========
A bulky EV spread utilizing greater investment in defenses with Toxic and Knock Off can be used, as this set can be difficult for many teams to play around, albeit at the cost of much wallbreaking power. A physically-based Swords Dance set with Buginium Z can be used to surprise the bulky Psychic-types that check most Necrozma, like Cresselia or Slowbro, but it falls short in practice due to how easily it can be walled by Mandibuzz. An EV spread of 172 HP / 84 SpA / 252 Spe with a Timid nature can be used to live survive a Choice Band Golisopod's First Impression from full HP while retaining the aforementioned Speed benchmarks at the cost of some power. If said Speed benchmarks are unnecessary, an alternate EV spread of 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD with a Modest nature can be used. A spread of maximum HP and maximum Speed can also be used for combining to combine greater bulk and the ability to outpace under base 79 Speed Pokemon, but the drop in power is noticeable. The Calm Mind set can run Power Gem over Moonlight on more fast-paced offense that can’t can't afford to be stopped by Mandibuzz or Houndoom, but the lack of recovery seriously hurts Necrozma, as a Z-Crystal is needed for wallbreaking, so pinch Berries can’t can't be used. Calm Mind or Toxic can be used over Moonlight on the Stealth Rock set toput to put more pressure on bulky walls, but forgoing Moonlight can cause Necrozma to be stretched too thin at times. Protect can be used to scout for Choice-locked revenge killers, coverage, and to avoid being hit by Golisopod's First Impression, but it usually cannot afford to drop one of its other moves.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Psychic-types**: Cresselia, Slowbro, and Slowking care very little for either Photon Geyser or Heat Wave, fearing only Toxic from the Stealth Rock set.

**Residual Damage**: Necrozma absolutely despises Toxic, as it limits Necrozma's staying power its longevity and Necrozma it has no way to block the move. Entry hazards can also cause issues, as they push Necrozma into kill KO range of certain attacks or can force it to use Moonlight, losing some momentum.

**Special Walls**: Florges and Snorlax can take even boosted hits from Necrozma and proceed to either use Toxic on it or use it as an opportunity to set up Curse, respectively.

**Revenge Killers**: Revenge killers like Choice Scarf Tyrantrum and Golisopod can revenge kill or force Necrozma out with their powerful attacks even after accumulating multiple Calm Mind boosts. Priority attacks like Sucker Punch from Toxicroak and Honchkrow and Bullet Punch from Metagross can threaten to KO a weakened Necrozma.

Its flagship set, the Calm Mind sweeper, is capable of punching large holes early-game and can blow past teams once its checks have been sufficiently dealt with. Necrozma is also capable of running an offensive Stealth Rock set that capitalizes on its great matchups against Donphan and every offensive Defogger in the tier, and it has methods of circumventing the entry hazard control removers it can struggle against, such as Psychium Z for Mega Blastoise and Toxic for Mandibuzz. However, Necrozma's great combination of power, bulk, and Speed tier make it more well-rounded than these options, causing it to be so it is (I've seen most GPers change phrases like "allow it to be") the primary choice for teams looking for a Psychic-type Calm Mind user.

A physically-(RH) based Swords Dance set with Buginium Z can be used to surprise the bulky Psychic-types that check most Necrozma, like Cresselia or and Slowbro, but falls short in practice due to how easily it can be walled by Mandibuzz. A spread of maximum HP and maximum Speed can also be used to combine greater bulk and the ability to outpace under sub-base 79 Speed Pokemon, but the drop in power is noticeable. The Calm Mind set can run Power Gem over Moonlight on more fast-paced offense that can't afford to be stopped by Mandibuzz or Houndoom, but the lack of recovery seriously hurts Necrozma, as a Z-Crystal is needed for wallbreaking, so pinch berries Berries can't be used. Calm Mind or Toxic can be used over Moonlight on the Stealth Rock set to put more pressure on bulky walls, but forgoing Moonlight can cause Necrozma to be stretched too thin thinly (If this was a Flying Press article, I'd let you use an adjective, but in more formal writing, you should use an adverb.) at times. Protect can be used to scout for Choice-locked revenge killers, (RC) and coverage moves, (RC) and to avoid being hit by Golisopod's First Impression, but it Necrozma usually cannot afford to drop one of its other moves.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Psychic-types**: Cresselia, Slowbro, and Slowking care very little for about either Photon Geyser or Heat Wave, fearing only Toxic from the Stealth Rock set.

**Revenge Killers**: Revenge killers like Choice Scarf Tyrantrum and Golisopod can revenge kill Necrozma or force Necrozma it out with their powerful attacks even after accumulating it accumulates (slight dangling modifier) multiple Calm Mind boosts. Priority attacks like Sucker Punch from Toxicroak and Honchkrow and Bullet Punch from Metagross can threaten to KO a weakened Necrozma.
