The LAST box cover legendary slate (for a long time) is here. I put off this slate in particular as I felt that too much Legendaries being in one after the other looked weird.

Happy fun posting!

Name: Xerneas

Nerfed Stats:
[96 (30-) / 106 (25-) / 70 (25-) / 106(25-) / 73 (25-) / 79 (20-) ] (530 (150-) BST)

Removed Moves:close combat,Night Slash,Thunderbolt,Thunder zen Headbutt.
New Typing (If Any): fairy/grass
New Abilities (If Any):
serene grace
New Moves (If Any):geomancy*

Geomancy*:raises speed and SpD and SpA by 1 stage in the next turn(now a clone of quiver dance
Justification: I've worsen its coverge by removing strong coverge moves (that didn't make alot of sense anyways) and zen Headbutt to prevent serene grace peraflinching. And lower all of its Stats to make it worse in every Category. And replaced fairy aura by serene grace because just look at it.

Name: Xerneas
Nerfed Stats: 91 (-35) / 96 (-35) / 80 (-15) / 101 (-30) / 80 (-18) / 92 (-7) | BST: 540
New Typing: Fairy
New Ability: Limber
Removed Moves: Geomancy
Added Moves: Play Rough
Justification: With its strange but wide movepool bereft of Geomancy but actually having physical STAB, Xerneas's balanced stats and great mono-Fairy typing give it a wide variety of niches to fill. Band, Specs, Scarf, CM, Expert Belt mixed attacker, and cleric are all possible with its attack options, Aromatherapy, and more.

Name: Yveltal
Nerfed Stats: 91 (-35) / 96 (-35) / 80 (-15) / 101 (-30) / 80 (-18) / 92 (-7) | BST: 540
New Typing: Dark/Flying
New Ability: Immunity
Removed Moves: Foul Play
Added Moves: Drill Peck
Justification: 91/80/80 may not scream fearsome defense, but a surplus of resistances and immunities with Taunt, Roost, STAB Oblivion Wing, STAB Knock Off, and immunity to Toxic give it no shortage of support it can lend to a team. Don't count out its 96/101 offenses, too, buoyed by the same balanced spread as Xerneas and good STAB both physically and specially.

Name: Solgaleo
Nerfed Stats: 112 (-25) / 112 (-25) / 87 (-20) / 63 (-50) / 69 (-20) / 87 (-10) | BST: 530
New Typing: Steel / Psychic
New Ability: Clear Body
Removed Moves: Knock Off, Morning Sun
Justification: Solgaleo sits at a solid Speed benchmark for NU, letting it use Flame Charge to become a fast setup sweeper or Z-Splash and Sunsteel Strike to turn into a menacing breaker. Its good HP and Steel typing let it stick around, but a low Special Defense, lack of reliable recovery, and weakness to Knock Off (plus a lack of it itself) prevent it from suffocating the tier. Access to Flare Blitz, Earthquake, and Wild Charge give it great coverage.

Name: Lunala
Nerfed Stats: 112 (-25) / 63 (-50) / 69 (-20) / 112 (-25) / 87 (-20) / 87 (-10) | BST: 530
New Typing: Ghost / Psychic
New Ability: Clear Body
Removed Moves: Focus Blast, Moonlight, Roost
Justification: Solgaleo's special bat counterpart sits at the same decent Speed tier, letting it pose a major threat with Timid Calm Mind or Trick Choice through powerful Moongeist Beam and STAB Psyshock. Although Lunala doesn't have quite the same Speed problem as same-typed Hoopa-Confined, its 4x weakness to Sucker Punch, Knock Off, and Pursuit pose the same problem. It will miss the power of Focus Blast to eliminate Darks and Steels, but at least still has Moonblast to not be totally helpless against them.

Name: Xerneas
Nerfed Stats: 97/81/76/101/98/72 (-29 HP, -50 Atk -19 Def, -30 SpA, -27 Spe, BST 525)
Removed Moves: Focus Blast, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Defog, Aromatherapy,
Ability: Fairy Aura
Typing:

New Moves (If Any): N/A

Justification: Xerneas is simply an amazing Pokémon, with great coverage, an excellent stat spread, and one of the best set-up moves in the game. I wanted to keep Geomancy as both a personal challenge and to keep Xerneas' identity, so the stat changes are mainly to prevent Xerneas from immediately sweeping teams. 72 Base speed lets common NU Pokémon outspeed before a boost (including Garbodor and Blastoise). After Geomancy, anything with base 115 Speed or higher outspeeds Xerneas invested, including Sneasel and Aerodactyl, while Choice Scarf base 100s outspeed a fully invested Xerneas. Choice Scarf Xerneas is also outsped by fully invested base 117s or higher. It's physical bulk has been nerfed so that Steelix and Klinklang a chance to OHKO Xerneas after Stealth Rocks with Bullet Punch. The nerf to its offenses prevents Xerneas from going mixed while also lowering its overall power. Xerneas also loses coverage in Focus Blast and Thunder, along with its ability to be a cleric and hazard remover.

Competitive Insight: Nerfed Xerneas is a very potent threat in the NU metagame, becoming very dangerous after a single turn of set up. Not only does Xerneas have bulk comparable to bulky NU attackers such as Blastoise, but also has the ability to double its Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed in one turn. Should Xerneas be given a free switch-in, it is capable of OHKOing most NU Pokémon and sweeping a team. Hernias is even capable of blasting through its resists, easily 2HKOing Delphox after a boost. However, bulky Pokémon and resists such as Slowbro/Slowking, Garbodor, Vileplume, Silvally-Steel, Steelix, and Klinklang are able to take a hit from +2 Xerneas. To make matters worse, the latter two can OHKO Xerneas, while a fully invested Silvally-Steel isn't even 2HKOd by Xerneas' coverage. Hernias is also troubled by faster Pokémon such as Sneasel and Choice Scarf users. While Xerneas is a threat that needs at least one dedicated answer on every NU team, many of these answers are also among the tiers most common problems, forcing Xerneas to be used more late-game.

Name: Yveltal
Nerfed Stats: 58/98/95/98/94/94 (-68 HP, -33 Atk, -33 SpA, -4 SpD, -5 Spe, BST 537)
Removed Moves: Heat Wave, Focus Blast, U-Turn, Steel Wing
Ability: Dark Aura
Typing:

New Moves (If Any): N/A

Justification: Another Pokémon with brilliant stats (the same as Xerneas), Yveltal was obviously immediately removed from OU and can play a ridiculous amount of roles in the Uber metagame, including Life Orb, Choice Scarf, Choice Specs, and defensive sets. A whopping 66 base points have been taken away from its HP to greatly reduce its bulk from Uber standards down to NU. Yveltal also loses its phenomenal mixed attacking stats. This greatly increases the number of Pokémon who can switch into Yveltal and take it out with a STAB move. Yveltal is also outsped by 95 base Speed Pokémon, including the aforementioned Houndoom and Silvally. Yveltal loses important coverage against Steel and Fairy-types with Heat Wave, Focus Blast, and Steel Wing. Finally, Yveltal loses U-Turn, meaning it can no longer act as the bulky, powerful pivot that was common on many teams. These changes should be enough to prevent Yveltal from being viable in the Uber or OU metagame, while also making it balanced for NU.

Competitive Insight: Nerfed Yveltal, despite losing a great deal of bulk, nevertheless can act as a bulky Pokémon. Yveltal retains a strong defensive movepool including Defog, Foul Play, Knock Off, Oblivion Wing, Roost, Tailwind, Taunt, Thief, and Torment, that differentiate itself from other bulky Pokémon. One should not be quick to discount its base 98 offenses and 94 speed, making it one of the most powerful mixed attackers in the tier. A Dark/Flying Typing is fantastic in a tier with strong Ground, Grass, Psychic, Fighting, and Ghost types. Dark Aura further amplifies moves such as Sucker Punch, Foul Play, Dark Pulse, and Knock Off. However, Yveltal faces strong competition for a team slot in NU. Incineroar is bulkier and has higher attack than Yvelta, while Seasel is faster and has a great secondary Ice typing. Yveltal is also prone to being revenge killed by prominent Ice and Rock-types such as Vanilluxe, Diance and Sneasel, all of whom have a chance to OHKO even the bulkiest of Yveltal. Regardless, Yveltal's flexibility and solid base stats are often enough to make it a threat in the NU metagame and warrant a team slot.

Name: Solgaleo
Nerfed Stats: 107/107/79/93/79/94 (-30 HP, -30 Atk, -20 SpA, -28 Def, -10 SpD, -3 Spe, BST 559)
Removed Moves: Earthquake, Wild Charge, Sunsteel Strike, Morning Sun, Noble Roar, Confide, Metal Sound, Snarl
Ability: Sturdy
Typing:

New Moves (If Any):
Meteor Mash

Justification: Although outclassed in the Ubers metagame by Necrozma-DM, Solgaleo still presents formidable physical stats in conjunction with decent special stats. 137/109/89 defensive stats are obscene in the NU metagame, and were toned down significantly. These were mainly directed at its physical Defense, as Solgaleo is now guaranteed to be OHKOed by Incineroar's Darkest Lariat. 137 base Attack would have also been the highest in NU, and although still high, is nevertheless less imposing. Its Special Attack was nerved as well, although Solgaleo retains the ability to be a mixed attacker. Like with Nerfed Yveltal, Solgaleo now misses out on the 95 Speed tier, which contains Pokémon such as Xatu, Uxie, Silvally-Steel, and Houndoom. Solgaleo also loses its signature STAB move and ability. This means it is no longer immune to Intimidate from Incineroar and cannot break Sturdy on Steelix. Finally, Solgaleo loses coverage against Water- and Fire- types in Wild Charge and Earthquake, while also losing most forms of recovery and stat-lowering moves. Solgaleo retains a decent-defensive typing (largely because it is poor in the NU metagame), as well as getting a replacement for Sunsteel Strike in Meteor Mash.

Competitive Insight: With a phenominal stat spread that allows it to play many roles, Solgaleo is a major offensive and defensive threat to the NU metagame. Unlike fellow Steel-types such as Steelix and Klinklang, Solgaleo is able to use mixed stats to take hits from both sides of the spectrum. Solgaleo also boasts moves such as Iron Defense and Cosmic Power to boost its defenses. Furthermore, support moves such as Knock Off, Sunny Day, and Trick Room, allow Solgaleo to support its team. Offensively, Solgaleo is able to hit Pokémon from both sides as well. Solgaleo has plenty of moves with useful side effects, such as Flame Charge and Meteor Mash, while also having a decent 94 Speed tier. This allows Solgaleo to threaten a sweep if the circumstances arise. Unfortunately for Solgaleo, Psychic is a horrendous typing in NU. The three best Pokémon in the tier (as of now), Incineroar, Sneasel, and Slowbro, all either resist or are immune to its STAB and can retaliate back with status or a STAB of their own. In particular, Incineroar is a complete counter to Solgaleo. He resists both of Solgaleo's STABs, lower's Solgaleo's Attack with Intimidate, and has two super-effective STABs. Hounds, despite not being very popular, is another bad matchup for Solgaleo because of similar reasons. Hounds is even immune to Solgaleo's Fire-type coverage and outspends him. While Solgaleo is a Pokémon with the stat total and spread to be a monster in NU, he is somewhat held back by weaknesses to top threats.

Name: Lunala
Nerfed Stats: 77/83/55/117/107/98 (-60 HP, -30 Atk, -34 Def, -20 SpA, +1 Spe BST: 537)
Removed Moves: Ice Beam, Psyshock, Thunder, Defog, Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, Thunderbolt
Ability: Shadow Shield
Typing:

New Moves (If Any):
N/A

Justification: Like almost all legendaries, Lunala has an incredible stat spread that allows it to take on many roles. Lunala's bulk was the first issue addressed. As with Solgaleo, 137/89/107 bulk is simply incredible for a wallbreaker with decent Speed. While Nerfed Lunala retains an above-average Special Defense stat, it's Defense is now pitiful. Lunala now sports roughly the same physical bulk as Houndoom and Cincinno, with a horrendous defensive typing. Lunala's Special Attack was nerved to a level more fitting for NU, though it is still the third highest in the tier. Additionally, Lunala loses out on coverage, forcing it to even more to run Mooniest Beam as STAB and Focus Blast for coverage on Dark-types. Lunala also loses out on Attack; it was never a physical attacker to begin with, and a 113 Attack stat is phenomenal in the NU metagame. An extra point in Speed allows Lunala to beat Sigilyph and be reasonably fast for the tier, while also losing to base 100s and common revenge killers such as Delphox, Mismagius, and Sneasel.

Competitive Insight: Lunala is a very effective Calm Mind user in the NU tier. Impressive special bulk, Shadow Shield, and two immunities allow Lunala to switch-in on a wide variety of common threats. These include locked Choice-users such as Passimian, Rotom, and Guzzlord as well as Vanilluxe and Slowbro. After a few boosts, Lunala becomes incredibly tough to take down, especially with reliable recovery in Roost/Moonlight and Shadow Shield re-activating. Luanda can then attempt to wallbreak or sweep with fantastic neutral coverage in Mooniest Beam and Focus Blast. Alternatively, Lunala can use its good Speed and terrifying Special Attack to be an effective Choice Scarf/Specs user. Unfortunately, Physic/Ghost is a horrible typing in a tier of Dark- and Ghost- types. Important Pokémon such as Sneasel, Decidueye, and Incineroar easily OHKO Lunala and can switch into locked variants with ease. Luanda is also pressured heavily by almost any physical attacker, particularly after Shadow Shield is broken. Luanda also misses out on the 100 Speed tier, greatly increasing the Pokémon who can check it, even after boosts. However, it is worth noting that Lunala can heavily damage any of its checks/counters should they decide to switch into the wrong move. Luanda can also switch out of many of these threats only to become a problem later in the battle, although it is 4x weak to Pursuit.

After Geomancy, anything with base 115 Speed or higher outspeeds Xerneas invested, including Greninja and Hawlucha, while Choice Scarf base 100s outspeed a fully invested Xerneas. Choice Scarf Xerneas is also outsped by fully invested base 117s or higher. It's physical bulk has been nerfed so that Mega Scizor has a chance to OHKO Xerneas after Stealth Rocks with Bullet Punch. The nerf to its offenses prevents Xerneas from going mixed while also lowering its overall power. Even after a boost, Xerneas overall power is only slightly more than other OU sweepers such as +1 Timid Volcarona (662 SpA vs. 554 SpA). Xerneas also loses coverage in Focus Blast and Thunder, along with its ability to be a cleric and hazard remover.

Competitive Insight: Nerfed Xerneas is a very potent threat in the NU metagame, becoming very dangerous after a single turn of set up. Why are you using OU Pokémon that check it as justification when you should focus on NU?

New Ability: Fairy Aura -> Unnerve
New Typing (If Any): N/A
New Moves (If Any): N/A
Removed Moves: Geomancy, Focus Blast, Close Combat, Outrage, Ingrain, Grass Knot, Horn Leech
Justification: There's no way Geomancy should be allowed in NU, Power Herb and Z-Geomancy would make it far too powerful. Removing its strong Fighting coverage prevents it from breaking through Steel-types as easily, and taking away Fairy Aura makes Moonblast more survivable.
Competitive Insight: As shown by the calcs below, Xerneas still hits hard and can run Choice Specs sets effectively. It's faster than the majority of unboosted Pokemon in NU. It can be beaten by Steel-type attacks used by Pokemon like Steelix, Silvally-Steel, and Dhelmise, and it can be worn down easily.

New Typing (If Any): N/A
New Moves (If Any): N/A
Removed Moves: Oblivion Wing, Focus Blast
Justification: Oblivion Wing and Focus Blast were removed, Oblivion Wing just provides too much recovery and Focus Blast breaks through opposing Dark-types like Incineroar and Guzzlord. Dark Aura was removed so its Sucker Punches and Dark Pulses don't hit as hard.
Competitive Insight: Yveltal still retains moves like Hurricane, Dark Pulse, and Sucker Punch, the latter two being useful on Choice Specs sets. Hurricane hits most things hard but has shaky accuracy, and it can be walled and beaten by Pokemon like Diancie and Audino-Mega. There are several Fighting, Psychic, and Ghost types that Yveltal can help its team against, including Dhelmise, Slowbro, Passiminian, and Decidueye.

Justification: Removed Sunsteel Strike to force it to run the weaker Iron Head for STAB. Removed anti-Water coverage to allow Slowbro and Slowking to wall it more easily.
Competitive Insight: Solgaleo can fit into NU as a Choice Band user. It has trouble hitting Pokemon like Slowbro and Incineroar with its STABs, and it also takes heavy damage from the tier's Ghost, Dark, and Fire types.
Offensive:
252 Atk Choice Band Solgaleo Flare Blitz vs. 172 HP / 0 Def Dhelmise: 352-416 (108.6 - 128.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

New Ability: N/A
New Typing (If Any): N/A
New Moves (If Any): N/A
Removed Moves: Moongeist Beam, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Focus Blast
Justification: Removed Moongeist Beam to force it to run the weaker Shadow Ball for STAB. Removed anti-Dark coverage to allow Incineroar and Guzzlord to beat it more easily.
Competitive Insight: Lunala can fit into NU as a Ghost-type Choice Specs user. However, it is knocked out by Dark and Ghost type moves pretty easily due to its 4x weaknesses to them along with its lower physical bulk, allowing Pokemon like Incineroar, Sneasel, and Guzzlord to beat it with their STABs.
