Neverending Sun - First RMT

Hi.

Let me introduce myself. I'm Puppetry, nice to meet you. Recently, not too long ago, I came back into this game. I started playing at the end of 4th Gen so the fresh start in BW felt nice, and held a fantastic record with a Sand Team before losing my DS (Also Excadrill too stronk.)

But anyways, I'm here to bring you a team I've been playing with recently that is fairly consistent. And as you can see it is a Sun Team. To be honest, I've held Sun as THE best weather in my opinion because it matches the way I play: Offensive Teams that like smashing face in, Although this team isn't 6 Banded Kyurem B's. There are glaring weaknesses and some flaws in the team, but hey, thats what i'm here for. Helpz. But anyways, onward to my humble team!

This was all done on my phone.

Aren't They Cute?

Seductive (Ninetales) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Roar
- Flamethrower
- Sunny Day
- Will-O-Wisp

Yes Ninetales, your outfit is very provocative.

Do not touch any form of Offensive Ninetales. They're all absolutely Horrid. Instead go with the absolutely cute and adorable defensive ones. I chose the Standard Set from the site because it was the best one to use for a defensive Ninetales. Roar is for Phazing pokes that think they can set up on me like Dragonite (for some strange reason.) Flamethrower for the STAB move that does decent amounts of damage that take neutral hits. Sunny Day is important to the team. It helps keep weather up and not have my team being swamped by the Beach (Rain or Sand, I know that's a bad and cheesy way of saying this.) Will-O-Smith (Wisp) is for burning incoming TTars on the switch with her terrible music.

Spare (Donphan) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin

Thank God, I have that spare tire.

No sun team is complete without a spinner that spins nasty shit like Rocks and Spikes away. Donphan, you are the only exception. I chose him over Starmie or Forretress because he provides a rock resistance and is a fantastic physical wall. Without him, most things would be dying to things that spam Stone Edge or Earthquake. Ice Shard is for picking off weakened Dragons or Landorus'. Earthquake is for a STAB move that can deal quite a lot, considering there is only 1 point of investment. Stealth Rock for hazards that can help deal with Flying Dragons or other rock weak stuff. And Finally, Rapid Spin to say: Eff you Hazards. Suck my Trunk.

494.gif

Creator (Victini) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Victory Star
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- V-Create
- Brick Break
- U-Turn
- Bolt Strike

It all starts with a Bang.

Go back 4.3 Billion years and you'll see Victini smacking a Level 1 Paras with Dry Skin, thus causing the Big Bang. Calc it. It's like a Million percent in the sun.
I chose Victini due to the monstrous power it contains in V-Create. It's really hard to shrug off a Base 405 Move. Literally. There is nothing that can switch in without taking a chunk. Nothing. Everything Falls to a powerful V-Create. Even a Level 1 Focus Sash Dry Skin Paras' gets OHKO'd. Bolt Strike is for Bulky waters, Politoed and Gyarados. U-Turn for strategic switching. And Finally, Brick Break to hit TTar and break other Darks and screens.

Allergies (Venusaur) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 88 Atk / 244 SAtk / 176 Spd
Naive Nature

- Giga Drain
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Growth

I may be catching an end of Spring fever.

*Suggested by Halcyon of Light*
The best starter ever. Hands down. It's so powerful after a Growth that it blows my mind away, and I chose Mixed Venusaur because it is the best Chlorophyll Sweeper. I am now used to +Speed Nature Venusaurs because sometimes it doesn't have enough speed to outspeed some popular scarfers like Latios or Keldeo. This Venusaur now outspeeds Scarfed +Nature 110's. Next, Life Orb boosts my moves to get certain OHKOs. Giga Drain is finally a move Venusaur gets with Clorophyll, which I'm happy about. It negates LO Recoil and so on and heals Venusaur to elongate its sweep. HP Ice is an odd but effective move choice. Most players expect the HP Fire but can lose some of their precious dragons when hit hard. Earthquake is for slamming Heatran in the face, OHKOing after stealth rock damage. And Growth is to turn this terror into a complete nightmare to handle.

TRANsvestite (Heatran) (F) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Magma Storm
- Sunny Day
- SolarBeam
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Underneath that Masculine appearance resides..

*Suggested by Halcyon of Light*
This thing is amazing. Not only does it deal with Various problems, it hits really really hard. Trapping Heatran is just amazing. So much better than having Dugtrio go and die. Air Balloon lets me switch in on EQs and my gosh it is awesome. OHKOing Rock Setting Landorus-T when the opponent is too dumb to switch out. Magma Storm traps Weather mons to deal with them and it does work. Although recently I've only had 1 turn Magma storms. But it's so worth it. Sunny Day to change the weather when trapping or to provide sun if Ninetales dies to early. Solarbeam to destroy Things that are weak to it (Yeah, pretty much this thing is for killing off other weather.) and HP Ice to kill dragons because I can switch in on dragon moves and hurt themz.

Heart (Latias) (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 176 SAtk / 80 HP / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
- Recover

My heart is yours.

Yeah yeah, super cheesy. Anyways, I chose Latias so I won't be susceptible to rain or Keldeo too greatly. Her bulk is like amazing. Anyways, the Evs are wonky I know. I wanted Latias to be able to take hits and hit back at times. Anyways, HP Fire for Steels and it gets Pseudo STAB in the sun. Draco Meteor for smashing things with neutral coverage. Psyshock to deal with Fightings and Breloom in particular.
And Recover to heal off LO Recoil and such.

So that's my team. Obvious Weaknesses are obvious. So yeah, thanks for looking this way and helping this team improve :3

Hey Puppetry! Cool sun team. I love Victini with a burning passion, and it's good to know other people are using him too (BECOME OU SO MY UU TEAM DOESN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT YOU PLZ).

This is as standard as a sun team gets, in my opinion. That being said, there are a few options you now have. You are, like many sun teams, EXTREMELY weak to Heatran. Heatran's Flash Fire ability, and fantastic defensive and offensive sets put a stop to many sun teams, since most Ninetales, Venusaur, Darmanitan, Victini, etc., can't really do squat to it, and it can turn around and hit them back with sun bosted (often times Flash Fire boosted too) Fire Blasts, which even resists don't like taking. There are a few different ways you can handle this. I would change Victini to a Choice Scarf set. Choice Scarf Victini, while not as powerful as Choice Band, can easily clean up weakened teams late-game, as V-Create is insanely powerful under the sun even without Band. You can keep the set pretty much the same, as Jolly V-Create can OHKO +1 Volcarona, which also gives your team trouble. Jirachi can't really do that. On that note, I don't think Jirachi does too much for your team outside of absorbing Dragon attacks. Because of that, I would recommend using Weather Trapper Heatran over Jirachi. Weather Trapper Heatran suits you team very well, since you are majorly dependent on sun being up for your team to survive. Magma Storm, though inaccurate, is really powerful in the sun, and can trap things like Politoed and Tyranitar on the switch, allowing you to Sunny Day in their faces and then KO with Solarbeam. I would personally run HP Ice in the last slot since you're giving up Jirachi, which was your Dragon revenge killer, but Earth Power is another option to hit Heatran. Finally, since you do struggle with Heatran, I would use Mixed Venusaur over your current set. HP Fire on Venusaur is, I think kind of a waste for sun teams, since you have fire Pokémon all over the place to deal with Steels better. Earthquake, on the other hand, means that you can hit Heatran for super effective damage, and OHKO 100% of the time after Stealth Rock. Hidden Power Ice also allows you to KO Dragons that might think they can live a +2 Sludge Bomb, only to be KO'd by your alternate coverage move. All in all, I think this set fits your team better. Anyway, I hope I was able to help! Good luck with the team!

Thank you for the rate, Halcyon!

I have noticed the weakness to Heatran and thought it could be handled with stuff like Donphan. But upon further testing I found Most of the time, Donphan runs into a surprise WOW and fails to kill it off. I was also thinking of changing Victini to a Scarfed version after seeing how Jirachi failed me a lot at times. All the sets you suggested will be used because they have helped me out in the couple of battles I had on Showdown. Thank you very much! ^ ~ ^

Bump: Edited some things, took Halcyon of Light's Suggestions and the team is working wonders. The only problem I have is Opposing Sand Teams occasionally. Also Latias is obviously the weakest link after testing. Just kidding. But I am looking to replace her possibly.

This is really standard, so I only have one thing to suggest. To deal with Heatran even better, use SubCM Latias over your current set. Heatran won't expect it to Sub and set up on it, so when you sub on the Toxic it's a free turn to set up for you. Im pretty sure Dragon Pulse at +6 does around 45-50% to the standard Heatran, which it does not like taking. Here's the set:

Latias @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpAtk / 248 SpD
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover

Hope I helped!

Thanks for the Suggestion, Skarmory!

Although I do love the set on Latias, Im not sure if it'll help against some things like Opposing Weather. Heatran is also covered by Venusaur and to an extent, Donphan. I also believe that it is too slow to set up since I'm constantly switching with this team. But Even With that said, I will try it out and see how it goes.

Bump.
Started testing the team again and I'm currently 22-4 on PS.
I've been having trouble with Rain Teams more than usual and things like Banded Dragons which tear through my team.
