New in town

Hi, im new here so I'm not sure how to go about this so here goes:

This is a team I've been using for a while now, and it has been pretty successful.

1.) Dragonite @ Choice Band
images

Ability: Multiscale
Adamant Nature 252 Attack 252 Speed 4 HP
-Extreemspeed
-Outrage
-Firepunch
-Earthquake/Waterfall

Dragonite is my lead most of the time, OHKOing Ferrothorn that is often lead against rain teams. It also kills non defensive Tyranitar with earthquake, and can 2HKO Skarmory switch ins with fire punch. Extreemspeed picks off weakened foes late game, and 2HKO Deoxys-S leads.

2.) Politoed @ Choice Scarf
images

Ability: Drizzle
Timid Nature 252 Speed 252 Special Attack 4 HP
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
-Focus Blast
-Hypnosis

Many people do not expect Politoed to be scarfed, which is an advantage. It can switch in to a boosting Tundurus and out speed and KO with Hydro Pump. It outspeeds no speed investment +1 Dragonite, and kills with ice beam as long as its not full health. Focus blast OHKOs most Tyranitar in the sand, and hypnosis can be used to put counters or boosted mons to sleep.

3.) Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
Relaxed Nature 252 HP 200 Special Defense 56 Defense
-Leech Seed
-Gyro Ball
-Spikes
-Curse

Fairly standard Ferrothorn, helps with this teams ineffectiveness against other water types. Ferrothorn usually beats standard Gliscor and Excadrill, depending on the prediction of boosting. Not much to be said, but I'm not sure if a different EV spread would be more effective. Ferrothorn also helps deal with bulky waters that wall Gyarados's sweeps.

4.) Gyarados @ Choice Scarf
images

Ability: Moxie
Jolly Nature 252 Speed 252 Attack 4 HP
-Waterfall
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang

Gyarados is another pokemon that many dont expect to be choice scarfed, and in the rain this can be devastating in synergy with moxie. Gyarados often gets a rain boosted waterfall on a foe that would normally be faster than it, and kills it. It also hits switch ins hard late game, when they aren't at full health, and can 2HKO to get a moxie boost. Gyarados outspeeds Gengar Thundurus and Dragonite, and 1HKOs them with waterfall or ice fang while the opponent decides not to switch.

5.) Tornadus @ Choice Specs
a8acd97eba7327a0a90f4ba6528542d7

Ability: Prankster
Timid Nature 252 Special Attack 252 Speed 4 HP
-Hurricane
-Focus Blast
-Grass Knot
-Hidden Power Ground\U-Turn

Tornadus is a rarely seen pokemon in OU, and many people expect it to be physical. Choice specs Hurricane absolutely brutalizes many bulky sweepers or slower mons, as well as physical switch ins. Hurricane also has a 30% chance of confusing, and 2HKOs Skarmory. Focus blast hits steels and rocks that resist it hard, and grass knot helps too. Hidden power grounds hits electrics and Magnezone, but U-Turn could work well in synergy with Dugtrio, trapping Tyranitar or Ninetales switching in to change the weather.

6.) Metagross
images

Ability: Clear Body
Adamant Nature 252 HP 252 Attack 4 Defense
-Stealth Rock
-Thunder Punch
-Meteor Mash/Bullet Punch
-Bullet Punch/Ice Punch/ Zen Headbutt

Metagross is the last, and least secure member of my team. He provides stealth rock support, and helps take care of bulky waters. Metagross survives almost any non boosted earthquake, including Excadrill's, and can do good damage back with ice and bullet punch. Meteor mash is a good source of damage, as well as possibly raising its attack. Thunderpunch hits waters and Skarmory hard, and Ice punch hits grounds and dragons. Bullet punch kills weakened foes and works well with Metagross's bulk.

Wait who uses links anymore? You do realize you can just copy paste pics on Smogon right?

Anyways, welcome to Smogon, and on to the actual rate.

Now, if Metagross is your method for dealing with ground types, you're in serious trouble. I suggest using a Bronzong instead. Similar typing, but sacrifices offensive presence for Levitate. The best part is that in the rain, Bronzong has 0 weaknesses and is a hard counter to Salamence.

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Levitate
Sassy
252 Hp/ 84 Atk/ 80 Def/ 92 SpD/ 2 Speed IVs
Stealth Rock
Gyro Ball
Earthquake
Hidden Power Ice

Since you've now got a better answer to Excadrill, I suggest using a defensive Politoed so you have a better chance of winning the weather wars. Perish Song for baton pass teams (when it gets banned, run both Protect and Focus Blast)

Politoed @ Leftovers
Drizzle
Bold
252 Hp/ 252 Def/ 4 SpD
Scald
Toxic
Perish Song
Protect/ Focus Blast

As well, I don't know where you got the idea that Tornadus were physical. The only sets I ever see are the wallbreaker and Choice Specs versions. So it wont be "surprising" anyone. Your team doesn't appreciate Reuniclus at all. I suggest replacing Tornadus for a CM Rain Abuser Jirachi. It also makes it so that you don't have 3 SR weaks.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
Timid
252 Hp/ 252 Spe/ 4 SpA
Substitute
Calm Mind
Thunder
Water Pulse

Wow this is a little confusing to read 'cos of some pics not being here and there.

Anyway, Metagross is not the best thing in rain, and I would suggest a standard sub punching or bulky Breloom set to not only have another electric resist which you are kinda lacking and Thundurus could be a problem once your Scarf Gyarados is dead.

And as for Politeod, the Perish Song set that New World Order gave is much better or else just plain straight attacker or perhaps maybe specs set with Hidden Power Grass maybe or Electric for Skarmorys. Although I would really prefer the standard set or Specs
set.

For your Ferrothorn, things that resist its STAB Gyro Ball can fire back more devastating special attacks or perhaps even strong physical attacks even with maybe plus 1 or 2. Also if you decide to get rid of your Metagross for a Poke that cannot learn Stealth Rock, then replace Ferrothorn's Spikes for Stealth Rock. Thunder Wave seems perfect too in some cases but looking at your team, you won't need it.

I'm not the best when it comes to RMT but I hop this helps a lot.
Oh and welcome to Smogon, by the way. =)

Semi-Stall can break your team and make it cry.

Therefore it would be wise to give Tornadus Taunt, perhaps over Grass Knot. This gives you priority Taunt, allowing you to break some annoying strategies, most notably Prankster Sableye-related strats. Definitely swap Choice Specs for Life Orb. His 111 Speed stat makes him a great lategame sweeper.

Changing Gyarados to a BulkyDD user would also be wise, as he isn't really the best user of Moxie with Choice Scarf. You also have plenty of revenge killers besides him. With DD, Taunt, Waterfall and Bounce/Stone Miss, he can handle plenty on his own and you will definitely enjoy using him.

4 choice users is bad.

Anyway, this team is horribly weak to Excadrill in sand and Thundurus in rain. Gyara and Toed can check the latter but they can't switch in. Take NWO's Bronzong>Metagross suggestion. (seriously NWO, this ninjaing me is getting old >_>)

Anyway, to counter Thundurus, try this Gastrodon over Tornadus:

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Storm Drain
Calm
252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Earthquake / Earth Power
~ Ice Beam / Scald
~ Toxic
~ Recover
