New to Smogon and New to UU RMT

UU RMT Heart of the Champ

Heart of Champions
In Need of something to get the heart going

Quick Look

Introduction: Hello Smogon, welcome to my first RMT, as I am new here. This is my first UnderUsed team. I am still new to competitive battling so I really need some advice on my team. Well lets begin with the team breakdown to understand the synergy.

Changes in Bold
Changed Uxie to Clefable Not sure why but it adds synergy to the team
Arcanine has been one of my favorite pokemon ever since I have seen it in Blue Version. With great Attacks and Speed, I wanted him to be on my team. I gave him a choice band to allow him to pack a punch or paw as he already has extremespeed for priority.

To assist Arcanine I chose Medicham. Medicham was chosen for a Choice Scarfer. Medicham takes out the frail faster stuff that Arcanine can't. With huge power medicham's attack stat is still jolly while possessing great coverage.

As Arcanine and Medicham are choiced and A scouter was needed. Furthermore something to set up rocks and break sashes would really benefit Arcanine but Cham especailly who cannot take a hit well. So nidoqueen was added as a lead to fill both jobs while being able to absorb toxic spikes if nessacary.

The next poke added was the infamous milotic. Milotic wears down defensive walls like slowbro with toxic. And then is able to stall them out as toxic wears them down. Milotic also acts as a wall protecting arcanine and Medicham from burns. An other stauses.

Clefairy was used to replace Uxie on the team taking the position as beast wall and protecting the team from status. Althoug it was a hard decision I feel it was for the best.

With Uxie being removed I wonderd about Hariyama. However Clefable and and him have very good synergy as they are both boosting walls.

Breakdown:

Nidoqueen @ lum berry
Nature: Impish
Ability: Poison Point
Evs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 12 SpD / 44 Spe
Moveset:
Roar-Scouts out the opponent's team while racking up stealth rock damage
Stealth Rock- Breaks sashes and is complimented by roar
Earthquake- strong stab move
Ice Punch- gives coverage after set up

Usually sets up rocks and helps get me an idea of the opponents team. Lum berry is to wake up from the numberous sleepers in the UU. Ground and ice provide good coverage. Chose rocks over t-spikes because numerous poison pokemon able to absorb them in the UU like this gal. Also poison point is going out to ambipom who loves poison and life orb damage.

The Top Ten Lead are based on the Statistic from July 2009
dpiconani480.gif
Uxie – Most Uxie are very defensive. Not sure how I would handle haven't seen one yet. I would probably set up stealth rocks and then roar to scout. Really can't stop this guy from setting up screens if he has them.

dpiconani424.gif
Ambipom – Take fake out and next hit and set up stealth rocks hopeful he gets poisoned. Didn't calculate damage yet so not sure how much of a threat.

dpiconani407.gif
Roserade - As he tries to put me to sleep I roar. Then next turn I set up rocks so when he comes in again his sash is broken and easily killed by the other member of the team.
dpiconani469.gif
Yanmega – Stealth rock and then see from there

dpiconani146.gif
Moltres – Roar and then stealth rock so it get hit hard when it comes him
dpiconani101.gif
Electrode - Rocks and then EQ

dpiconani059.gif
Arcanine – Easy lead as i resist his toxic. I set up rocks and EQ
dpiconani428.gif
Lopunny – IcePunch incase he switches something to me I guess. I just don't know what to expect so I considerate a major threat
dpiconani481.gif
Mesprit – I have no idea. I guess switch to uxie
dpiconani157.gif
Typhlosion - EQ and then Stealth rocks

clefable.png

Clefable @ Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Magic Guard
Evs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 86 SpA
Moveset:
Softboil-For recovery
Ice Beam- coverage
Thunder Bolt- coverage
Calm Mind- to set up and wall both ends

Suggested by Peachfuzz clefairy really helps out the team. Working similar to Hariyama, clefairy stats up and walls. He also protects the team from status like toxic on milotic
hariyama.png

Hariyama @ Leftovers
Nature:Careful
Ability: Thickfat
Evs:112 HP / 146 Def / 252 SpD
Moveset:
Bulk Up- Set Up to take hits from both ends of the spectrum
Force Palm- Stab and causes paralysis
Ice Punch- For coverage
Rest- After a debate I have found rest as the best obtion as it gives recovery and allows me to stay alive longer

I doubt people will believe me but this thing works very well. No one expects it as a specail wall. I chose ice punch to get rid of the nasty flying weakness of hari and cham. Most importantly honchrow who resists both pursuit and force palm.

milotic.png

Milotic @ Leftovers
Nature:Bold
Ability: Marvel Scale
Evs: 148 HP / 252 Def / 108 SpA
Moveset:
Toxic-wears down bulky stuff
Recover-Makes her so much harder to kill
Surf-Stab
Hidden Power Elec- For coverage

Poor Milotic slightly outclassed by OU bulky waters is the best at its job in the UU. Absorbing statuses to activate Marvel Scale this thing becomes a defensive power house with already great specail defense. As for the evs this is the Smogon standard. Considering moving the evs from Specail Attack to Specail Defense but I really don't no.

medicham.png

Medicham @ Choice Scarf
Nature:Jolly
Ability: Pure Power
Evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Moveset:
Hi Jump Kick- Strong Stab
Psycho Cut- Strong Stab with hopeful crits
Ice Punch- for coverage
Thunder Punch- for coverage

"Glass Cannon" but one hell of a cannon. Even with a jolly nature this thing can pack a punch. KOing most fagile stuff. With great coverage this is not something to be taken lightly.

arcanine.png

Arcanine @ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Intimidate
Evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Moveset:
Flare Blitz- Stab move really powerful
ExtremeSpeed- Priority main attack
Iron Head- Coverage
Thunder Fang- Coverage

Simply my favorite pokemon. It is through him the heart of a champion beats. With poor typing and a horrible movepool, Arcanine still succeeds at being the ledgendary pokemon. Flare Blitz I think can 2tk almost anything. ExtremeSpeed gives a stong priority to that monsterous attack. I use intimidate to help his bulkiness with the screens up.

Well that is the team and now I am asking you to put some life into this heart. And the pictures I got from Arkeis.com.

If you are having trouble editing your posts, go to "User CP" as in User Control Panel, "Edit Options", and in the "Miscellaneous Options" section, set Message Editor Interface to "Basic Editor" which will allow you to edit in BBCode, then set back to "Enhanced Interface" when you are finished.

From the first post of the Simple Question/Simple Answer thread in Stark. Try this. =D

Curtain Medicham isn't weak to psychic. Only hariyama and queen are. With uxie to take most psychic hits and setting up light screen most psychic attacks on hariyama do 25%. As for queen she is on her own. But I could try to replace Cham with Absol. Anything else?

Dual Screen Uxie is an awesome pokemon sure, but nothing on your team is taking advantage of the screens and Memento that Uxie will be pulling off. Usually it is best to have a set up sweeper of some sort who is able to decimate entire teams once set up behind screens.

I also see some problems with Rotom. Rotom will be burning your physical attackers, Uxie can't touch it, and Milotic is afraid of Thunderbolt. Arcanine will be worn down by Thunderbolt and possibly Stealth Rock as it switches in and out. There also seem to be problems with stall teams. As of right now, nothing on your team is hitting hard at all, and most stall teams will be setting up on your team with ease. The hardest hitter is Arcanine, who will be worn down very easily be Flare Blitz recoil and Stealth Rock.

I suggest this Clefable over Uxie:

Clefable (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP/172 Def/84 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Softboiled

The EV spread guarantees survival from defensive Hitmontop's Close Combat, probably the main threat to Clefable from stall teams. This takes care of stall teams pretty well, being immune to entry hazards and status, and can set up easily in front of Chansey, bulky waters, Steelix / Registeel, and Roserade that are placed on stall teams. Just watch out for Tricked Choice items. Otherwise, this will help a lot with stall teams and Rotom.

The Milotic EV spread was meant for OU play. I would use the spread 240 HP / 252 Def /16 Speed. With HP Electric, this makes Milotic a great counter to physical water types such as Dragon Dance Feraligatr, Azumarill, and Kabutops.

Seems pretty solid. Good luck with your team!

Thank you Peachfuzz for the suggestions.
However I can't say the screens aren't used as Hariyama uses them to set up. And Arcanine can actuall take hits with the screens. However I do see the rotom flaw. And I will definately tryout clefable and see how the team works. And i like ur suggestions for milotics evs but i also like the little extra power.

Clefairy is here to stay

Well, whenever I see people use a Dual Screen Memento Uxie, it is one time use, and they use it for a very threatening sweeper capable of sweeping in the blink of an eye after a few turns of set up. Hariyama has the bulk to set up all by itself, and if you've used Uxie to set up I feel like you've wasted a pokemon. If you really want to stay with Uxie, I think you should put an attacking move over Thunder Wave or Memento. Psychic makes Uxie a great switch in to fighters, and Thunderbolt can keep Honchkrow from punching holes into your team.

The team is working very well on shoddy defeating most UU and even a bunch of OU teams. But i am still looking for any suggestions because there is always room for improvement. Please some one give help I put alot of work into this. Come on someone help me out. Bump
