Nintendo at E3 2021 discussion/salt thread

Metroid Dread is gonna be sick. From what I've watched of the game so far it definitely feels as if they're trying to piece together/build on the best parts from Super Metroid, Fusion & Samus Returns.

I personally loved what MercurySteam did with Samus Returns, which if anything was only held back by being stuck on 3DS. The melee attack already looks more polished, and they've also added sliding which is something that seems so simple, but will definitely do tons to make the game feel more fluid and fast to play. Plus visually there's just no contest between switch & 3DS.

The last thing I'm hoping for is that they nail the exploration/metroidvania-ness of the game. Something closer to Super Metroid would be unreal; obviously Samus Returns was quite linear, but being a remake it had to be that way so I wont hold that against them.

If they get all those things right + capture the atmosphere that fusion had with the new EMMI enemy it'll easily be one of my favourite games of all time.

P.S. - main series Metroid is superior to prime. I'd take a 2D Metroid over prime 4 any day of the week - In fact Metroid Dread was probably the best new game reveal they could've possibly given me lol.

i was shouting dread when i saw the metroid trailer, then to see the title with the same name as what was teased over sixteen years ago holy shit, best game reveal from e3 no question.

botw2 and smt5 look cool, advance wars and monkey ball returning kinda dope, but kazuya in smash tho???
tekken in smash is a longtime coming and im surprised it took namco this long to get a second fighter, when they codevelop the games and other companies have three now, and im so glad its tekken even if i hardly played it, now we got sf vs tekken vs kof in smash what the fuck lmao. just wish smashers would stop calling him a shoto, use another word for fighting game character or autoturnaround please holy fuck.

microsoft e3 was cool since they showed games but mainly cause of halo infinite which looks rly fuckin good, didnt watch the others LOLOLOL.

On the topic of the smash reveal, it was certainly a lowlight of the direct for me and I'm kind of glad they didn't get my hopes up for it being Andy or Aiai or someone like that by putting it at the end. Normally with DLC, if you don't think it will be fun to play, you can just completely ignore it and take the game as it was. However, for a seriously multiplayer game like Smash, if you also believe something isn't fun to play against, the experience just gets a little bit worse and there isn't much you can do about that. I've unfortunately got a chip on my shoulder about traditional figthing games, meaning the character almost certainly falls into the latter category.

Just wanted to say I've been waiting for Danganronpa ports for too long and here they are. I almost screamed my lungs out when I saw Monkuma's eye on the screen I highly recommend these games.

Now about other things:
  • Kazuya: Ididn't like it, it's already the 3rd fighting game character with the combo mechanics only in this Smash. I'm happy for those who enjoyed him, tho.
  • Mario Party Superstars: Incredible! I was drooling over Super Mario Party when the online was announced, but now I'm going to have the opportunity to play a newer and better Mario Party.
  • Metroid Dread: This is my first purchase for sure from Direct, the game is beautiful, I felt a lot of chills just in the trailer, imagine playing. It will be my first Metroid, good to know it was designed for people like me
Last but not least:
  • My mouth was open the whole trailer. Really, I was shocked on how good this game looks. BotW was my first Zelda and I loved it, now BotW2 looks just, ugh, perfect
