Blastoise's Shell Smash set is a great late-game cleaner on dual screens teams in NU thanks to Blastoise's good typing, nice coverage, and decent defenses. Substitute grants Blastoise a safe setup opportunity against passive threats like Gastrodon and Bronzong, as they rely on Toxic for damage; additionally, dual screens support combined with Blastoise's natural bulk makes it really hard for passive Pokemon to break the Substitute, making it easy to get another Shell Smash off. Ice Beam nails Dragon-types such as Guzzlord and Dragalge, while Dark Pulse can hit Golisopod, Gastrodon, and Starmie. Xatu is a great partner for Blastoise, as it can set up dual screens and safely bring in Blastoise with Teleport. Salazzle can cripple bulky Water- and Dragon-types such as Mantine, Gastrodon, and Goodra with Toxic to improve Blastoise's chances of cleaning up late-game. Dragon Dance Flygon and Swords Dance Talonflame can force in bulky Water-types and severely weaken them so that Blastoise can get past them more reliably late-game.

there's a lot of superfluous info in this that can get gutted entirely imo; explaining what Torrent and White Herb do isn't really too useful, and generally I think you could just talk about how a myriad of setup sweepers synergize well with Blastoise by weakening the opposition and improving its chances at cleaning once it sets up

more emphasis needs to be put on Substitute. right now you have it written like it's just an option that you can drop; that isn't really the case. emphasizing that Substitute lets Blastoise exploit really passive walls that rely on Toxic poison for damage is key here, plus it synergizes great with Blastoise's dual screens-boosted bulk

ping when you do this

Ice Beam nails Dragon-types such as Goodra and Dragalge. Dark Pulse can nail Gastrodon, Cresselia and Starmie.
Ice Beam does that but it's more important for grass-types since they are more common. ice beam is also stronger against gastro than dark pulse is because it's neutral to ice. cress also isnt a big deal because CM sets can't threaten you back very hard, starmie is hit harder by dpulse yea. on the whole, Dark Pulse is mostly useful for hitting zong that can break your sub, as well as possibly flinching thru haze mantine/vapo (though you usually just lose if they're fully healthy anyways). maybe im forgetting something bc i never use dpulse

Dragon Dance Flygon helps with Pokemon Blastoise dislikes to face such as Rotom-Mow.
this is flat-out wrong for the primary set, you outspeed rotom-mow after a boost and KO it with ice beam. blastoise does not dislike facing it at all.

Swords Dance Decidueye can also help weaken bulky Pokemon such as Gastrodon and specially defensive Bronzong for Blastoise
nobody over 1040 on the ladder is leaving a gastrodon or bronzong in versus decidueye. quziel talks a lot about how u chip something; you don't use mons that outright beat it, you use mons that it checks but has to take damage in order to do so. for example, bronzong checks celebi, but a shadow ball celebi will get off a lot of chip before dying. for gastro uhhh somethin like CB/SD Sneasel is checked by it in theory but it has to take a lot of damage in order to do that job. luring it in to take chip damage makes it easier for toise to beat it later

Rotom-Mow serves as a great partner as well, as it threatens Mantine.
nah fam thats not how u weaken mons for a sweeper. nobody would ever sack mantine to a rotom-mow. in theory it would be able to come in on mantine once the mantine switches into Blastoise, BUT.... the idea is that you weaken its defensive checks before Blastoise comes in. Something like Knock Off Salazzle, CB Golurk, Mienshao, or anything else that forces Mantine to try and take chip in order to check it would make a good partner for this purpose; rotom-mow doesnt though

think abt partners on bulky offense that can get it in vs mons it sets up on / weaken its checks.

think abt partners on HO teams that can weaken bulky water-types for it to sweep later. examples are like dd flygon (not for the reason that it chips Rotom-mow, you beat that anyway, but for chipping bulky waters it can be useful), np lazzle, sd talonflame, sd sneasel maybe (it isnt very good)

With its Shell Smash set, Blastoise is a great late-game cleaner on dual screens hyper offensive teams in NU, thanks to its good typingr, nice coverage, and decent defenses. Ice Beam nails Dragon-types such as Goodra Guzzlord and Dragalge, while Dark Pulse can nail Cresselia and Starmie.(Dark Pulse is more for opposing Water-types than it is Psychic-types) Substitute is used to grant Blastoise a safe setup opportunity against passive threats like Gastrodon and Bronzong as they rely on damage due to Toxic.(you should make the sentence about Substitute the second one in the paragraph; it's pretty core to the set's functions. Address how dual screens + Blastoise's natural bulk makes it really hard for these passive Pokemon to break Blastoise's Substitute, which can very easily lead to it getting two Shell Smashes off.) Xatu is a great partner as it sets up dual screens for Blastoise and Substitute makes it harder to revenge kill.(Teleport support is also big to give Blastoise free switches in to set up) Salazzle can cripple bulky Water- and Dragon-types such as Mantine, Gastrodon, and Goodra Guzzlord with Toxic to improve Blastoises chances of cleaning up in the lategame. Talonflame can take on bulky Grass-types like Vileplume and Dhelmise for Blastoise.(these don't beat you) Mienshao and Rotom-Mow are good Scarfers that can bring Blastoise in safely with U-turn and Volt Switch, respectively to help it set up lategame.(not really the sort of sets you'd want on these on dual screens, generally not integral to Blastoise's success either) Other sweepers, like Celebi, Decidueye, and Flygon are good options to keep the offensive pressure up against opposing teams alongside Blastoise.

make the last sentence about setup sweepers that can heavily pressure and force damage onto bulky Water-types; Dragon Dance Flygon and Swords Dance Talonflame are good examples. this sort of continues on from the Salazzle point about it being able to poison them with Toxic

let me know again when this is done

Swords Dance Life Orb Mienshao can 2HKO Sylveon with Poison Jab, which otherwise hits Blastoise through its Substitute, while taking a +2 Surf. (they predominantly run Moonblast currently and aren't KOing Blastoise anyway)
