:ss/snorlax:

Snorlax is the newest drop from the October shifts and its amazing bulk accompanied by a number of coverage options like Darkest Lariat, Heavy Slam, and Heat Crash makes it the most customizable of the drops (Doublade and Regidraco). Snorlax also has setup options in Belly Drum and Curse and Curse notably is great to support its physical bulk to fend off physical attackers like Doublade and Drapion. Always resting and relaxing but also quite the "Fighter" in battle! Submissions for Kabigon will end on Wednesday, October 13th. Have fun!

Snorlax @ Choice Band
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 144 HP / 252 Atk / 112 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Heat Crash
- Darkest Lariat

Choice Band Snorlax is meant to be used as a lure - it hits surprisingly hard with base 110 Attack and decent coverage, catching players that exprct a passive setup set, and it can still soft-check quite a few Pokemon. Earthquake and Heat Crash hit Rock and Steel-types, and Darkest Lariat hits Golurk and is useful when you don't want to guess between Levitate and Heatproof on Bronzong. While spreads are pretty customisable, I've chosen this to live two consecutive Leaf Storms from Choice Specs Decidueye after Stealth Rock and outrun uninvested Dhelmise as well as Swords Dance Escavalier.

Mamabär (Snorlax) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Def / 176 SpD
Impish Nature
- Curse
- Rest
- Darkest Lariat
- Heavy Slam
CurseLax is probably the most well known set if we all had to agree on one. It takes advantage of Snorlax' huge special bulk in order to become nearly unkillable in one hit. Rest is its best form of recovery (rip recyle 50% berries) while Darkest Lariat and Heavy Slam offer great neutral coverage versus most opponents. The EV spread I use lets you live Guts boosted Adamant Close Combat from Machamp at +1 Def but you can also simply dump everything into SpD. The moves are what makes this set.

toxic orb + facade lax

Snorlax @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SpD
Careful Nature
- Facade
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Darkest Lariat

This set aims to have a strong strong Facade with Snorlax getting Toxiced by the Toxic Orb. Facade turns into a very hard hitting Normal-types STAB move with Snorlax' great 110 Base Attack. Heavy Slam hits Comfey, Slyveon, and Diancie for great damage, whereas Earthquake hits Arcanine and Salazzle super effectively. Darkest Lariat is for Iron Defense Bronzong. Since some Pokemon run status conditions in NU, Snorlax can profit from them as well to strengthen its Facade.

Snorlax @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 12 HP / 1 Atk / 252 Def / 1 SpA / 241 SpD / 1 Spe
Impish Nature
- Fling
- Body Slam
- Rest
- Curse

ASSAULT VEST!
This set takes advantage of snorlax's beefy stats. Assault vest lets it take special hits and throw out body slams throughout a game. Fling lets it hit (once) dark types with an 80 base power move, adding to its unstoppable coverage! Once it flings its assault vest, this baby is ready to sweep. The status moves of curse and rest allow it to get even fatter on the physical side once its assault vest is gone, and then rest off the damage it took to go for a sweep

A WILD SNORLAX IS BLOCKING THE WAY!

:rs/snorlax:

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat / Immunity
EVs: 12 HP / 200 Def / 252 SpD / 44 Spe
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Darkest Lariat
- Rest
- Block

I was, admitedly, at first, just gonna submit a standard, bland, defensive Snorlax variant with Whirlwind to abuse hazard stacking... However, a spark of brilliance went through my mind! Why not go back to our lazy roots... and use Snorlax for what it was originally conceived - BLOCKING?!
Block allows Snorlax to abuse bulkier, unsuspecting targets to immediately setup 6 Curses and get easy dubs! The Speed EVs outpace Mudsdale before the first Curse in order to gain the added defense to tank Earthquakes with ease/get a fast Block off and the HP EVs maximize the Leftovers recovery. Immunity can be used over Thick Fat in order to avoid having to keep on resting against targets with Toxic at the cost of 2 great resistances, tho!

edit.:
Funny replay of Snorlax T1 6 - 0 vs. Mudsdale just to show how the set functions: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8nu-1427906152-odjbt6dphyen9lwvyq6cahkocf6nc5dpw

Snorlax @ Chople Berry
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 12 HP / 244 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Counter
- Curse / Covet
- Body Slam
- Rest / Darkest Lariat

Annoyed by duck knight's crits close combat?
Problem solved
Thanks to his 160 base hp and low defense, lax can easily ohko non-invested or low base hp mons who attempt to check it with Counter like fetch'd,body press diancie or body press zong

:sirfetch 252 Atk Sirfetch’d Close Combat vs. 12 HP / 244 Def Chople Berry Snorlax on a critical hit: 313-370 (67.4 - 79.7%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

:diancie: +2 252+ Def Diancie Body Press vs. 12 HP / 244 Def Chople Berry Snorlax: 221-261 (47.6 - 56.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

:bronzong: +2 252+ Def Bronzong Body Press vs. 12 HP / 244 Def Chople Berry Snorlax: 184-217 (39.6 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Curse let him retain sweep potential when covet in conjonction with Darkest Lariat steals items after using chople and provides coverage for ghosts

AmnesiaRest Snorlax

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 248 HP / 48 Atk / 216 SpD
Careful Nature
- Amnesia
- Body Slam
- Earthquake
- Rest

Snorlax is a good bulky SpD tank and Amnesia helps it to underline its (special) defensive capabilities.
Thick Fat is perfect because it adds two useful resistances, whereas Leftovers + Rest add a way to recover health and to get rid of detrimental status (mainly Toxic).

248 HP EVs are enough to add generic bulk to Snorlax while reaching odd hp to switch into SR one more time.
The EVs on the Atk stat are meant to reach this feature:
44 Atk Snorlax Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Dragalge: 178-210 (53.2 - 62.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
